Using pressure points as a form of self defence is about as effective as using your uncle's slightly damp sock as a form of contraception

One of the lovely people who feed my ego by watching my videos has sent me this self-defence tutorial

it shows how to use pressure points to fight off an attacker.

Now the video itself is only the beginning,

the real comedy is found in their response to people who are critical of their advice.

For example, this person said:

To which they responded:

Ah, yes, of course, just spit him! Why didn't I think of that?

But the only way that we're going to know whether or not they actually work is to test them out

so, let's give it a go. But the only way that we're going to know whether or not they actually work is to test them out

so, let's give it a go.

Okay so I know you guys have a lot of stuff to do,

like go to work, or touch yourself.

So we're only going to do three of these pressure points.

First we'll try without resistance

Now we'll try it with resistance

Nope

now we'll try the brachial plexus without any resistance

now we'll try it with some resistance

nope

I think I know why this isn't working, take this and put it in your pocket

Now when I grab you, take the ruler out and measure to find the pressure point

okay, here we go

oh, yeah, that hurts,

But not enough.

now we'll try the last one

Yes, that last one hurt,

but not in a "I need to run home immediately and suck my own d*ck" kind of way

it hurt in a "now I'm really pissed off and am going to hurt you much more than I originally intended to" kind of way.

so, in other words, it's bullshit.

so, that's it for me

Sally Morris: Why I am proud to work for the NHS - Duration: 0:49.

I'm proud of the NHS because at a time when you may need help it'll be there to

provide care for you regardless of who you are or how much you earn

it's staffed by some of the most amazing compassionate and caring people you'll

ever come across I'm constantly amazed by the extra mile that NHS staff will go

to to ensure that patients receive care whether that's walking through three

miles of snow to see an elderly patient in the community staying overnight at a

hospital in case staff can't get in the next day or simply providing support and

understanding to those facing difficult personal challenges I'm proud to lead

EPUT providing mental health, learning disability and community service across

Essex and to be part of an NHS which will be here for at least another 70 years

Teacher's testimonial: how to use Science Journal for Kids in class? - Duration: 3:24.

My name is Seda Dawson and I teach 7th grade science in Westchester Academy for International Studies, Houston, Texas.

We believe in the power of problem-based learning.

So through case studies and problems students make connections with the course material and real life organically

and that's where science comes to life.

But finding resources that are reliable and current is not easy.

Because of that, Science Journal for Kids has definitely filled the gap and became my go-to resource very quickly.

I incorporate the articles in my lessons in various forms.

I first introduced the problem using the video hook

and I love using the video hooks because they capture my students' attention and also help them to funnel their thoughts.

They get into their small groups and read and discussed the key points of the article.

What is the hypothesis, how was it tested, and how long was the field study.

And what are the results. What is the impact on us.

They were ready to answer the 'Check for understanding' questions.

I facilitate sometimes 1-on-1 sometimes small group discussions

and that's where I address the confusions and misunderstandings or extend their knowledge.

They would treat them from babies till they get older to see how much cycle, I mean carbon they would bring out...

Even though the article was written by scientists, it was still very easy to understand.

I really enjoyed reading about this topic.

Reading and understanding the article was really easy. The words I didn't understand, I looked up in the Glossary.

I have a diverse student population.

Their reading level levels, prior knowledge, interest in science are vastly diverse.

Science Journal for Kids with its the kid-friendly language, sentence structure, grammar,

and easy-to-understand graphs and glossary makes science accessible for all my students.

Since I have started using Science Journal for Kids, my students have a better understanding of the scientific method.

How scientists formulate the hypothesis, how they test and collect data, how they deliver the results

and how the results may not always be what they predicted.

And how they finally drive conclusions.

This is very important and most students struggle with that if they don't consume enough scientific articles like this.

And they also, and probably the most important thing, gained a deeper awareness

of the intricate relationship between organisms and their environment.

And that actually helps them to understand that each one of them has an impact on the environment and they can choose what kind of impact they would like to make.

That is empowering.

Mohamed Salah: Jurgen Klopp reveals what new five-year deal means for Liverpool - Duration: 2:30.

Salah was the star of the show for Liverpool last season, scoring 44 goals in 52 appearances, on the way to Champions League final

And Salah has today penned a new five-year deal with Liverpool which does NOT include a release clause

Klopp thinks it shows that Liverpool are going in the right direction and shows how much the club have grown

"I think this news can be seen for what it is; rewarding a person who performed and contributed greatly for the team and the club last season

"It demonstrates two things very clearly also - his belief in Liverpool and our belief in him

"We want world-class talent to see they have a home at Anfield where they can fulfil all their professional dreams and ambitions - we are working hard together to achieve this

"When someone like Mo Salah commits and says this place is my home now, it speaks very loudly I think

"Equally, our commitment to him says we see his value and want him to grow even more and get even better within our environment

"The key thing to remember is the best thing about Mo is that he never sees himself as being more important than the team or anyone else within it

He recognises his teammates and this club helped him achieve individual success last season

He sees the individual awards come because he is part of something bigger that is special

"Mo reflects where we are as a team, I think. Last season was special with many special moments - but we want more

"We want to be more successful and achieve more together - as the supporters sang so loudly, 'we're never gonna stop'

This has to be the attitude individually and collectively."
