Courtois: Striving for better

Thibaut Courtois says there are elements of our game we need to improve upon in the next couple of weeks but the Belgian is confident the team will be ready for the start of the new Premier League season.

The Blues were beaten 2-1 by Inter Milan in Singapore on Saturday as our tour of Asia came to a conclusion and the Chelsea goalkeeper, who saved a Stevan Jovetic penalty, only to see the striker net the rebound to open the scoring, spoke about the overall performance.

'I think the performance was okay,' he said. 'In the first half both teams had a lot of possession. They had an early chance and I made a save but just before half-time the referee saw a penalty where there wasn't one.

Azpi played the ball, he might have brushed against the guy with his arm but I don't think you can say it was a penalty. It was a pity because I saved it but then I was unlucky with the rebound.

'We didn't start the second half well, I made a good save and as we were pushing for a goal they hit us on the counter attack.

'When you are trying to push forward you leave space at the back and there were a few good saves so I was pleased,' he said.

'Against Bayern it was a bit frustrating, I was a bit annoyed because I felt I could have done better with Rafinha's goal but I've been working hard in training all week so for me personally it was good and I feel I'm ready for the season.

Of course, the most important aspect of pre-season is ensuring the players are fully fit for when the campaign begins, and after two sessions per day in the heat and humidity of China and Singapore, the squad are now in good condition.

'Some players like Antonio Rudiger only joined recently and he was away at the Confederations Cup with Germany,' added Courtois.

'I don't think he lost a lot of fitness but he might need a little bit more work, we will all be ready for the season though..

LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp has rejected a world-record £89. 5million second bid from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian star, 25, looks set to join the La Liga giants this summer – as Barca line-up a replacement for the potentially outgoing Neymar.

Barcelona have stepped up their pursuit of Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho. The Reds recently rejected a £72m bid from Barcelona, but now the Spaniards have upped the ante in their chase.

Coutinho is being pursued by the Catalan giants as they prepare for life without star forward Neymar – who is a £195m target for Paris Saint-Germain.

In return, Klopp has begun hunting for a potential Coutinho replacement of his own, with Monaco man Thomas Lemar and Bayern Munichs Renato Sanches two options.

However, there are now conflicting reports coming out of Europe, with a journalist at Frances RMC Sport suggesting Barca had submitting a whopping new offer.

Meanwhile, reports in Spain are claiming Barcelona have now turned their attention from Coutinho to Atletico Madrid man Antoine Griezmann. The French forward admitted he felt obliged to stay with Rojiblancos after their ban was upheld, amid interest from Manchester United.

Philippe Coutinhos future may rely heavily on Neymar and Antoine Griezmann. But, should Griezmanns buy-out clauses be met, the decision would be out of the club's hands.

From the Barcelonas perspective, the Frenchman would be the perfect signing as he has shown he can handle the pace of La Liga.

The news will come as a massive boost to Klopp and Liverpool, who at times have looked certain to lose their Little Magician.

Coutinho joined Liverpool in January 2013 for just £8. 5m and has gone on to play 138 times in the Premier League, scoring 34 times - including 13 goals last season alone.

JK Rowling apologises for tweets claiming Donald Trump ignored a boy in a wheelchair

JK Rowling has apologised after falsely accusing US President Donald Trump of failing to shake the hand of a young boy in a wheelchair.

The Harry Potter author posted a string of messages on Twitter calling it "stunning and horrible" that President Trump "cannot bring himself to shake the hand of a small boy".

Pictures later emerged of the US leader spending time talking with the three-year-old boy, as his family slammed the writer, telling her: "How dare you!".

Writing on social media, mother Marjorie Kelly Weer said: "If someone can please get a message to JK Rowling: Trump didn't snub my son & Monty wasn't even trying to shake his hand.

He's 3 and hand shaking is not his thing, 2. He was showing off his newly acquired secret service patch. Thanks.".

Brian Weer, the child's uncle, added: "Boy in wheelchair is my nephew, and Trump spoke with him for a long time NOT captured in video. He was very caring! How dare you!".

Thousands of people including Piers Morgan criticised the author, accusing her of spreading "fake news" and "lies". Eventually on Monday evening, the bestselling novelist shared a series of tweets apologising for her mistake.

"Re my tweets about the small boy in a wheelchair whose proferred hand the president appeared to ignore in press footage, multiple sources have informed me that that was not a full or accurate representation of their interaction, she tweeted.

"I very clearly projected my own sensitivities around the issue of disabled people being overlooked or ignored onto the images I saw and if that caused any distress to that boy or his family, I apologise unreservedly.

These tweets will remain, but I will delete the previous ones on the subject.". Thousands of people showed online support to the Harry Potter creator, who has more than 11 million followers on Twitter.

One user, called Ashton, said: "You did something Trump has NEVER done in his life: You publicly admitted you were wrong. Because that's who you are.". But others, including Piers Morgan, continued to criticise her for peddling inaccurate news.

"JK Rowling announces she will delete tweet lies about Trump & disabled boy," the Good Morning Britain presenter said. "Apologises to boy and his family but NOT to Trump.".

The author is known for her opposition to President Trump and his policies, as well as generally being vocal on Twitter over matters including politics.

Book Review: Love Letters from God: Bible Stories for a Girl's Heart - Duration: 3:03.

hey guys! Shawn here from shawnmhowell.com with another two-minute tip Tuesday.

and today's 2-minute tip is on the book love letters from God Bible stories for

a girl's heart by Glenys Nellist. so if you are interested in hearing more

about this book keep watching. hey guys! so I have had this book for a

couple months now and I have been loving it so much that I have put together a

one hour a week 14 week series for elementary girls that my church will be

doing this next school year. a girls small group led by Christian women

so that the girls in kindergarten through fifth grade can learn about

biblical women from Christian women. so I am going to put my entire lesson plans...

I just finished them a couple days ago... in the link down below. they will be on

my website so that way if you want to download them or look at them and adapt

them or whatever you are welcome to. it's completely free I'm just sharing with

you what I put together. so it's about an hours worth of lesson plans for 14

weeks because there are 14 chapters in the book. so if you are not familiar with

this series of books... it is a series and I have another video on the Christmas

book that was put out Christmas letters from God . I will post a link to that

somewhere up here. but it's just this one. I've been excited because it is for

Bible stories for girls. there are fourteen chapters.

I've still got my post-it notes from when I was writing my lesson plans all

over it. each chapter features

a woman of the Bible. and this is the part that's just precious is the

little love letter so your child can write their name here and it's like

getting a love letter from God. it's a little lift a flap and all the

chapters have that. the artwork is just gorgeous. and then what I also love is

that you have my love letter to God and

it gives a space for your child to write their own love letter to God at the end.

so it's just precious. I encourage you to look at the whole series. like I said I

have the Christmas one I have this one. I'm looking into getting a few more for

our church and for myself but we are excited to start this in the 2016...

it's not 2016... 2017 to 2018 school year.
