Chelsea transfer news: Blues offer Everton £25million for wantaway Toffees star Ross Barkley

ROSS BARKLEY is the subject of a £25million bid from Chelsea. The offer for the Everton midfielder — £20m plus £5m add-ons — comes after Antonio Conte also made a £40m move for Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has bid £25million for Everton star Ross Barkley.

The 23-year-old only has one year left on his current deal at Goodison Park. The Toffees originally valued Barkley at £50m, but are aware they will no longer get close to that.

They are still holding out for £30m though. Tottenham also have a long-standing interest in the England man.

And Everton will now hope they make a counter bid to drive the 23-year-old's price back up. Barkley is currently out for three months with a hamstring injury.

He is in the final 12 months of his Goodison Park contract and wants to leave.

Ronald Koeman had been hoping to sell the England international for £50m.

Everton playmaker Ross Barkley is currently out of action with a hamstring injury. Chelsea have upped their transfer business before the window slams shut at 11pm on Thursday.

The Blues have reportedly had a bid £28m accepted by Leicester for their central midfielder Danny Drinkwater. Conte has also moved swiftly to sign Eden Hazards younger brother Kylian where he will link up with their development squad.

And Chelsea still remain keen on bringing Swansea striker Fernando Llorente to West London, as the Spanish international looks to link up with his former manager at the Old Lady.

VOYAGER AT 40 - REACHING FOR THE STARS - Duration: 3:28.

three two one we have decision and Reva's liftoff

we have goods off of the night steps are killing the fruit that the Voyager

spacecraft to expend man senses farther into the solar system than ever before

the dark room is the center of the universe it's where we communicate with

the deepest spacecraft we have out we still communicate with the voyagers they

send us signals every day you can see Voyager 2 is being tracked both by

antenna 35 and antenna 36 Voyager has been a real mission of discovery every

planet we flew by we got more questions and answers I think none of us knew when

we launched 40 years ago that anything would be working for such a wonderful

long journey we hope that we could reach interstellar space

we reach that record you want and we're about to beat you in order to

Voyager 1 is the further of the two spacecraft and it's currently at about

13 billion miles from us here on earth

the transmitters on the Voyager spacecraft are slightly over 21 about

what your refrigerator light bulb would give off

so when the signal crosses that vast distance to us the strength of the

signal is 110 trillion of a billionth of a lot which is the equivalent of 1/10

with 21 zeroes after it a real opportunity Lord you two of course it's

because we have a working solar wind instrument to measure the solar wind

itself it's currently measuring the solar wind inside the bubble when it

leaves the bubble it will then enter interstellar space where there's an

interstellar wind which has come from other stars that blew up and so we will

have a chance for that instruments to actually measure the wind for the first

time directly a wonderful thing about the journeys not just that it's 40 years

long but in fact it's still discovering new things because it's going where

nothing has been before they will continue until they finally run out of

power but they will orbit at the center of the Milky Way galaxy for billions of

years our silent ambassadors

Liverpool transfer news: Liverpool to splash £75m for Thomas Lemar - Duration: 4:15.

Liverpool transfer news: Liverpool to splash £75m for Thomas Lemar

Monaco star Thomas Lemar has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

French champions Monaco have already turned down a £60m offer for the 21-year-old. Lemar scored 14 times last season as his team reached the Champions League semi-finals and won their domestic title.

But Liverpool insist their move for the France international is not linked to the future of playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

The Reds remain adamant they will not sell Coutinho, having rejected three bids from Barcelona this summer, including an offer of £138m. Countinho hasn't played for Liverpool this season due to injury.

But he trained with Brazil yesterday seemingly without any hint of the back injury and illness which have ruled him out of Liverpool's opening five games of the season.

Friend and surgeon Dr Michael Simoni claimed on Monday that Coutinho's injury was the result of stress over his potential move to Spain.

"He's a bit anxious about the possibility of changing club," he said ahead of Brazil's World Cup qualifier against Ecuador on Friday. "Of course we talked about this possible transfer, about the things that are in his heart right now.

His back pains, in my opinion, are explained by this anxiety.

Muscular tension normally does that." While Liverpool are refusing to sell their star man, Southampton are just as adamant that Virgil van Dijk will not be heading to Anfield ahead of tomorrow night's transfer deadline.

Van Dijk hasn't played this season and has been training with the under-18s after having a transfer request refused. The £70m-rated defender wants to join Liverpool while Chelsea and Arsenal are also interested.

But Saints are standing by vice-chairman Les Reed's public pledge that Van Dijk will not be sold. Meanwhile, Naby Keita says he will be a long-distance Liverpool fan for the next year.

The Guinea international midfielder has agreed a £60m move from RB Leipzig but won't join his new club until next season. "Until I join my new club, next summer, I will remain an interested supporter from a distance," said the 22-year-old.

"I am delighted that an agreement has been reached which will allow me to join Liverpool Football Club next summer, when I will become part of a project that excites me greatly.

"Having my future resolved means I can now focus on helping RBL achieve great things this season. "My commitment to RBL remains absolute for the remainder of my time at the club.

I have given my all every time I have worn the shirt - that will be the case until the final whistle, in my final appearance." Monaco star Thomas Lemar has been linked with a move to Liverpool French champions Monaco have already turned down a £60m offer for the 21-year-old.

BREAKING: Kim Jong-un calls for MORE North Korea missile blasts after launch over Japan - Duration: 4:18.

BREAKING: Kim Jong-un calls for MORE North Korea missile blasts after launch over Japan

The despot leader oversaw an intermediate range ballistic missile (IRBM) launch on Tuesday which fired over. It comes as fears heighten and Japan earlier issued a warning telling citizens in Hokkaido to take shelter in a sturdy building or basement".

, close to the North Korean capital of Pyongyang, and flew around 1,680 miles (2,700km) before it broke into three pieces and landed in the sea around 733miles (1,180km) off the east coast of Japan.

Despite breaking to pieces, claimed the missile was a warning to the US and South Korea over their "provocative" military drills.

He added that the launch of the Hwasong-12 missile was also a preclude to containing the US territory of Guam as North Korea earlier warned it would fire missiles around the island.

Experts believe the latest rocket is the first missile from North Korea which is powerful enough to potentially carry a nuclear warhead.

Kim Jong-un vowed his recent missile launches were the first step of the military operation of the Korean Peoples Army in the Pacific and a meaningful prelude to containing Guam".

He added that it is a curtain-raiser of its resolute countermeasures against the Seoul-Washington drills.

Donald Trump reiterated that all options were still on the table for dealing with North Korea's threats as he added the world had received Kim Jong-un's message loud and clear.

Speaking after the missile launch, the US President said: Threatening and destabilising actions only increase the North Korean regimes isolation in the region and among all nations of the world. All options are on the table.".

Tuesdays launch comes after the rogue state fired three missiles on Saturday towards the Sea of Japan, whcih either failed in flight or exploded almost immediately.

The US revealed its army is ready to attack North Korea if necessary with additional bombers stationed in its military bases in Guam.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in also ordered a show of overwhelming force in response to the launch and four South Korean jets staged a live bombing drill on Tuesday.

Mr Moon's chief press secretary, Yoon Young-chan, confirmed the drill was ordered by the South Korean military after an urgent National Security Council meeting.

He added: "We assessed North Korea's provocations as extremely severe and decided to maintain a vigilant posture in preparation for the possibility of additional provocations by North Korea." North Korea's ambassador to the UN claims his country has "every reason" to continue ramping up war tensions as he accused the US of driving the Korean peninsula towards an explosion.

The secretive state earlier this month revealed plans to launch four IRBMs towards US-territory Guam.

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris pens poignant birthday tribute for the late King of Pop

Michael Jacksons daughter Paris has paid an emotional tribute to the late King of Pop on what would have been his birthday.

Nineteen-year-old Paris led remem6brances of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee from family, fans and friends on Tuesday (August 29), which would have been the day Michael turned 59.

Paired with a picture of Michael giving his young daughter a kiss, the model and actress wrote on Instagram: Birthday wishes to the love of my life, the one person who showed me what passion truly was, the one that gave me solid morals to live by and how to dream.

I will never feel love again the way i did with you. you are always with me and i am always with you.

though i am not you, and you are not me, i know with all of my being that we are one. and our souls will never change in that way. thank you for the magic, forever and always..

Paris was just 11 years old when her father tragically passed away on June 25, 2009 while in rehearsals for his This is It concert residency in London.

She remains one of the primary caretakers of the You Are Not Alone singers legacy, having most recently led a campaign to stop Sky Atlantic from airing a spoof film in which white actor Joseph Fiennes plays her father.

Next year, Paris will make her feature film debut as an actress – opposite Charlize Theron, Thandie Newton and David Oyelowo – in director Nash Edgertons action movie Gringo. Were sure her dad would have been hugely proud.
