Is masturbation a sin in christianity?

Today, we're attacking the subject on if masturbation is sin or not.

Christian sexual purity is a big deal amongst us Jesus types so let's talk about it.

Sociologists from the University of Chicago analyzed data that led to estimate that approximately

38 percent of American women, and 61 percent of American man masturbate.

So if this includes you, if you masturbate and you are a male for example, you are one

of approximately 100,000,000 million men..

And that number is on the conservative side.

The world obviously tells us that masturbation is healthy, releases tension, promotes better

sleeping patterns etc.. but..

If we are discussing Christian sexual sin, this is obviously a big deal because masturbation,

though maybe not as prevalent as you think..

Is still very very common.

So we know a lot of people do it but, what about Masterbation and the Bible?

The Bible actually doesn't refer specifically as to whether masturbation is sin or not.

But here's the thing, Matthew 5:27 tells us..

You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.'

But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed

adultery with her in his heart.

If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away.

This tells us that immoral thoughts, lust and pornography are in fact a sin.

I'll probably address pornography itself in a separate video but, just to give you

some insight as to how rampant and common pornography is, and thus, the sin of lust..

Enough pornography was watching in 2016 on the top pornographic website that all the

data would fill up 194 million of these USB sticks.

If you laid those USB sticks in a line, they'd wrap around the moon.

That website had 1,000 visits a second in 2017.

The sin of lust is a big struggle for many.

This has been a battle that I personally face and, I obviously can't speak for you beautiful

ladies out there, but I believe it's a real fight for most of us men.

Now, I suppose you can make the case that if masturbation were possible with no immoral

thoughts, no lust or without utilizing pornography, then it isn't a sin.

But, I think if you were really honest with yourself, I think you'd see that, that's

not really a possibility.

It would seem that lust and masturbation are very tightly coupled together.

Is it a sin to mastaurbate?

Yes, let's be honest, yes it is.

Let's discuss a quite sensitive topic

in our industry,

and that's the one regarding source code.

We have been involved in quite a few projects

where we have seen customers and Creston programmers

have completely different opinions

on what has to be delivered at the end of the project.

Typically the customer believes

that all source code for his solution

has to be delivered,

whereas the Crestron programmer believes

that at least certain aspects

of that code are his intellectual property

and should not be disclosed.

Now to figure out where that discussion

is coming from, we have to go back in time a bit,

and we have to understand that our industry

has a history of writing custom code for every project.

Now, no matter whether you're doing commercial

or residential installs, you're bound to see

certain functionality to be coming back

over and over again throughout different project,

and that is why Crestron programmers

over time have started to create certain pieces

of functionality, certain libraries or modules,

and reusing them throughout different projects

and different customers,

and this is where the discussion is coming from.

You, in fact, have a bit of productized code

being used in a bigger custom environment,

and you have two parties that look at the matter

from two completely different views.

Now the customer is still looking at it

as being a custom development made for himself.

Now the Crestron programmer,

he sees that these library, they have not been created

for that specific customer.

Those are, in fact, an ongoing development

that's spread maybe over several years

that the programmer has invested in on itself.

Now, we're not here to express our opinion

on the matter because, quite frankly,

no matter which side we choose,

we're bound to have 50% of you guys against us,

but let us just say that to avoid this discussion

just tackle it head on.

Beginning of the project,

sit down with your customer and talk about this.

Make the agreement upfront,

and don't allow it to be a discussion

at the end of the project, at delivery,

because at that point you're both bound to lose.
