BP Cartridge Maker™
Tool which allows you to manufacture paper cartridges for black powder firearms easily and fast.
Set contains:
a die mounted on the base,
a shaping tube connected to a funnel
and the piston.
We begin to prepare the paper cartridges by measuring the amount of black powder and filler using:
scale, powder flask or scoop.

(semolina - filler)
The cigarette paper (attached to the kit) will be necessary to make paper cartridges,
and glue,
and grinded lead balls.
First, put the cigarette paper around the tube, keeping in mind that the adhesive strip is facing inward.
Moisturize the adhesive with saliva or a wet sponge to activate the adhesive and wrap the roll.
The side of the roll press with finger to the surface adjacent to the piston, keep in mind there are no folds and unevenness.
Then, turn the tip half turn.
Lubricate with glue and press against the side of the roll.
The ready roll is placed inside the die and the piston is removed from the device.
Then, add black powder and filler.
Condense the inside with piston and then slide the device onto to connect the whole.
Use the device again to thicken the gunpowder and the filler.
The last ingredient to be inserted is the lead ball, which is also pressed against by the device until the resistance is felt.
The roll with content should be secured by twisting the paper.
The ready cartridge have a consistent interior that prevents mixing of ingredients.
Flat bottom minimizes ignition problem.

TITLE: IDEAS Guide for small media and communications projects
IDEAS is an acronym for Innovating, Designing, Evaluating and Applying at a Small scale for media and communication projects
So that tells us a lot about the intention of the guide.
In that it is really helping innovative
learning based approaches to build
an evaluation design into
the process of designing a project
so that the two are really working together.
What was lacking, there was a void, this void
which we believe the IDEAS Guide
the Facilitators' Guide fills.
It offers those who are not accustomed
to piecing proposals for donors
on a regular basis. This IDEAS Guide
offers them an opportunity on how to do it
like a text book.
And it guides them through it. Makes it a lot easier
and it stops
for want of a better word, development partners or donors
from trying to influence some of the
ideas and some of the home grown talent.
It offers them an opportunity to do
something for themselves. It builds their capacity
and they don't have to rely on an external consultant to come in and charge them top dollar
to put together their ideas. And I think that's important.
So there are ten modules in the IDEAS Guide
And they start to thinking about your project through to
who is coming along, what questions you need to ask.
And how you may answer your evaluation questions.
And all of them are designed to be quite hands on
encourage discussion and negotiation.
The thing is in development, you know so often
there is sort of this parachute that lands
they do their little development project and their gone
and there is no sort of
long lasting impact.
But if we took this tool out, we would find out what people wanted.
We would find out what they were prepared to do
and if they even needed help.
The way that it has been framed, the IDEAS Guide is like
Here take this, share it, do what you want with it, adapt it.
Looking back at our project
if there had been more monitoring
and evaluation and smaller steps
then we wold have caught some of the
I guess fail points along the way.
I think we would have asked more questions how might we fail
And that is a really good question
when you are going somewhere new.
So I think as, maybe like a
facilitation, community consultation
sort of diagnostic tool
I think its got, I would be using this next year!
