Hi, my name is Lubica Kangas and I am the founder of Path2talent.
I have been recruiting since 2002 . I am recruiter by heart and I love it every day, even though
I do it already since 2002.
I have interviewed few thousands candidates and placed few hundreds of them to companies
and roles in different sectors, areas, different countries even and you know, interviewing
so may candidates, I am asking always the reasons why they want to change the job, what
would make them motivated and what are they currently missing in current company and current
role and I get to hear reasons like they want bigger role, they want to work for bigger
company, they want to manage bigger team and that's all great.
Ambitious people are great because they want to progress and its only a progress which
make us to feel alive and we need to feel the progress to really feel fulfilled.
That's all good.
However there are very many of us, who, even though we get new opportunities, we get bigger
role in bigger company or bigger team, we still feel not really happy and fulfilled.
And I have been employed myself and had colleagues around me and I noticed and observed few of
them who were constantly unhappy and unfulfilled.
They were always blaming the manager , blaming the company culture, ways of working they
were very good to find the reasons for their unfulfilment.
They actually did not want to realize that true and real reasons are actually outside
the work.
And what ultimately happens is that these people, since they are unfulfilled, they
will change a job, find new challenges, they will get a new position in a new company,
but guess what?
After very short while , since they did not resolve the cause of their unfufilmment, the
story repeats and they continue being unhappy and unfulfilled.
Many people actually hunt success first.
They go after success, they think they need to achieve certain level of success at work
to feel fulfilled and content.
And that's such a big misconception!
As Tony Robbins says: Success without fulfillment is the ultimate failure.
So think about it just a minute.
We need to start with our own fulfilment, we need to know what makes us to feel fulfilled.
And the things that make me to be fulfilled are very different from the ones that make
you feel fulfilled.
We are very different luckily.
So we need to know what our passions are. And passions, because many people don't interpret
the term very well, passions is any activity that you love doing.
Its an activity, not a result of an activity.
We might be passionate about singing, dancing, traveling, you might be passionate about writing
books or poems, its different for everyone.
You just need to know what your passion are and somewhere deep insight we know it since
we were kids, but we neglected and deprioritize it and we simply promised ourselves that one
day, when we have time or one day when we are retired we will be then doing the things
we really love.
And that's wrong.
The life is too short to execute it , life is too short to postpone every reason for
being happy.
So I encourage everyone, Start today!
Start identifying and rediscovering what your passions are , putting attention on them and
living them, include them in your lie to feel more fulfilled and happy.
And many people know what their passions are.
And many people don't.
They have been neglecting and overlooking them for very long time, so they need to rediscover
them and identify them.
And that's what we do in our workshops, Life fulfilment workshops.
Most importantly then just understanding what your passions are, you also need to know what
is their priority.
Lets say you have 10-15, some people have even 20 or 30 things on their list, so you
need to prioritize.
And you need to focus on the most important ones.
And that's very interesting process, which we go through, because people get really surprised.
80-90% of our participants get surprised what ends up being on their top 5 list.
Those are the things which many people really feel like ,,Wow, I never understood, never
thought how important these things are for me, how much they mean for me".
They have been neglecting it for long time, so once they know what the priorities are,
including them into daily or weekly schedules, focusing on them and putting more attention
and living those passions, they will definitely feel more fulfilled and life.
And even more happy at work, that they have currently and will perform better at work
as well.
So , to influence your fulfilment at work, you need to often look also beyond the work
frame.
You need to go holistically about your way how you live and do you live the life you
really want?
Workshop is kind of holistic life assessment, with big focus on your career, but not only.
And as a closure, I would like to say: By doing things you love, and loving what you
do and doing it as often as you can , you will definitely feel having fulfilled, content
and happy life.
