Career Tips: Get a Job Created for You from the Unadvertised (Hidden) Job Market - Duration: 8:00.
Hey Tammy Kabell with Career Resume Consulting and today I'd like to talk
about how to get a job created for you from scratch. Meaning, didn't exist
before and you actually talked yourself into something that would be absolutely
perfect because it uses all of your strengths. So that's what we're going to
talk about today and I actually made a quick diagram to explain how you get
into that hidden job market that you always hear about. You don't even know what it
is. You don't know how to get to it unless you actually like know
somebody who can get you and make an introduction for you into a job or into
a hiring manager. So I want to talk about how to get a job created for you from
scratch. Reason being that a surprising number of our clients get jobs created
for them. It happens all the time actually and it's because of timing. So
let me show you the diagram that I put together for you today. So I'd quickly
like to go over this pretty rudimentary diagram of how you get into the hidden
job market and when you think about the hidden job market it's really any kind
of creation of a position or filling of a position where it's not posted online.
So when you think about the timeline of what happens in a cycle of from the
beginning of a pain point to the actual hiring there's a lot of months that
happen that for instance between the pain point actually happening and the
identification of the pain point and then there's a few months that go by
before they decide to actually hire and this is going to be
the decision maker or the hiring manager and then it takes time for the hiring
manager to coordinate with HR and all of the other stakeholders and actually take
an action to hire and then there's a few weeks that HR works on it in order to
create a public posting and then it ends up in about 2 to 16 weeks of a public
hiring taking place. So when you look at this diagram and feel free to pause the
video and really look at this in detail. What you're talking about
in getting into the hidden job market is really nothing more than approaching a
decision maker between the time that there is a pain point that develops and
then the public posting so there's a lot of months there that go by that you can
get into talking with a decision maker prior to there being lots of competitors
so again pause this if you have if you want to look into it in more detail
now you're probably wondering, okay, how do I do that? Well I'll give you one
secret and and that is you can use LinkedIn. A lot of things are happening
on LinkedIn. As a matter of fact the latest numbers that I've seen are
seventy five percent of employers and ninety-four percent of recruiters use
LinkedIn as their exclusive form of finding their next executive talent. In
other words you've got to have a great robust LinkedIn profile in order to be
seen by executive recruiters and and even hiring managers and by hiring
managers I mean decision makers people that could actually create a position
because they're looking for somebody like you. You've got to be seen so you've
got to have a robust LinkedIn profile. That's the first thing but you can
proactively do a search on LinkedIn for the type of company that you want to
work for, the type of hiring manager or or decision maker that you would be
looking for. In other words the person that would be your boss inside the type
of company that you would want to work for. Now we actually have a program where
we've got this on somewhat of an autopilot where it actually connects
with up to hundreds of people even per day and so you can really build a large
database or a large connection network of hiring managers decision-makers in a
short amount of time. If you're interested in that I will
leave all of our contact information at the description and also in the first
part of the comments. So feel free to reach out to me or our our main line and
and I can have a coach talk to you personally about that service. But
it's something that you can also do by yourself if you wanted to try it out by
yourself. But keep in mind you have to have a great message
online, in other words, on your LinkedIn profile. If you're gonna try to connect
with someone you've got to be attractive to them from the very beginning that
very first glance that they look at you and they spend a couple of seconds
looking at your picture, your beautiful picture, your name and then your job
title underneath. Now what I recommend to do in order to capture their attention,
change that job title to a value proposition statement. You can do this
even if you are fully employed right now and what I mean by a value proposition
statement is, instead of Director of Operations, perhaps it's saving market
leading companies millions of dollars per year through smart process
improvement. Maybe that's what you're known for as a director of operations or
a VP of Operations even. So think about going back to positioning yourself, think
about how you would position yourself at a first glance with someone and what
would you say to them if you had one sentence to sum up what you do better
than anyone else. So put that on your LinkedIn profile. I think you will find
that you will get more attention from the hidden job market and when you're
going after the hidden job market proactively you'll get more attention as
well. Alright, I hope this has helped you and if you like what you heard
consider subscribing. If you loved what you heard give me a thumbs up I'd love
to see those and of course I would love to hear about your success if you use
this technique and it works for you because it's worked for our clients
hundreds of clients actually over the past ten years
a few thousand clients and they've they've done really well. So please try
to use this I think you'll find that it will do well for you even if you're
looking for a less than a six-figure job or it will it will work in any kind of
position and so if you have any questions put them in the comment
section below and I will talk to you soon. Have a
wonderful week and take care, thanks, bye now.

PACKING TIPS for Lolita! ~How I packed for 12-day trip to Europe - Duration: 7:26.
Hello, welcome back!
Today I want to share with you
a few tips on how to pack Lolita when traveling
First of all, you need to decide what to wear
I would lay everything out like this and plan the coordinates
The most important thing is
to pick items that can be used multiple times
For example, every cardigan I brought can be worn with at least two dresses
Europe in early summer can be quite unpredictable
So I brought two blouses that go with everything
This VM one is more classic
This one is from Taobao, it's has more ruffles
In order to do this, you need to stick to one style
For example, if you want to wear sweet AND classic
Then you'll have to bring two sets of accessories
that are not interchangeable at all
Another thing is to choose the color scheme
For example, the coords that I planned are basically in
blue, pink and brown
This allows you to bring less bag and shoes, which take quite a lot of space
My go-to lolita travel bags
are the white round bag from Leur Getter, and MILK gold heart bag
What they have in common are: their colors go with everything
They are also very light in themselves, and can fit in a lot of stuffs
and can be squeezed
I'm also very extra in that I'll plan my coords to match the places that I visit
Yes, even to the point of using Excel
Europe is actually easier in that regard, because you know,
Europe looks... Europe
But Japan, for example
can look very different depends on where you go
So I did a lot more planning to make sure that my outfit always went well with the background
But no matter where you go, for some specific destinations,
there is this one dress that you just have to wear
Like this one from Mary Magdalene
It's called Antoinette Fleur
and inspired by Marie Antoinette
So I just had to wear it to Versailles
even tho it doesn't work with any of my other outfits
Next step is to pick the accessories
I'll put them right next to the outfits
But I will also bring some accessories that just kind of match the general aesthetics
They take very little space, but can add much flare to the look
So here are the accessories I'm bring with me to Europe
First up is this pair of earrings
with pearls and a little pendant
I used to wear this so much, but just kind of forgot about it recently
I need a re-start
And here are some rings...excuse the auto-focus!
I've been very into thin, tiny rings recently
so delicate
This one is bigger and more decorative
It's from Axes Femme and goes well with classic looks
I really love this necklace, it's from Jane Marple
This one is from JM as well
Just a basic pair of pearl earring
These I bought in Japan earlier this year
also of the thin and tiny family
I especially love... this one
It has a tiny tiny pearl and ...auto-focus!
it just looks so lovely, so delicate
I don't know, I just think it's so elegant
I also have these two bracelets
one in gold and one in silver
and also
the necklace my friend made me
so pretty
I love it so much
It's the crowning jewel of my accessory collection
Then I have these two headbands
I wore it like a million times and you've probably seen it
This one is from Osewaya
and this
I think it's Anthropologie
vintage earrings
And then... ah, this one
It's also a necklace from Jane Marple
a silver coin
Then is this bag of elastics
wait I have short hair now
lol no need to bring it then
And then I have two vintage pins
I bought this one recently I loved it so much
It's like shipped from Ukraine
I got this one a while back in a vintage shop in Brooklyn
wait, this way up
It's a negative curving of a woman's profile
Can you please focus
Yep that's it
And lastly
Got it recently from Peppermint Fox
I don't know how I'm gonna wear it but I'm bringing it
Once you have everything picked out
you can pack them into a pouch like this
very convenient
Tights and socks don't take much space either
so bring a couple more
I'm very into this Japanese brand called 靴下屋
Especially this pair
Oh my god I bought so many pairs so I will never run out
It's light and sheer, with intricate patterns
10/10 would recommend
This pair is also from them
and it comes with this lovely pouch
the print features Paris so I have to bring them
Ok so this half of my luggage has been packed
I just layered all my dresses on top of one another
I really don't do the roll-your-garment-into-a-burrito thing
It might work with T-shirt
but I genuinely don't think it works with lolita, too much ruffles
There's still a lot of air in there
so I'll squeeze in some tights along the sides
as well as accessories
Since the clothings are loosely packed
I think they won't be pressed too hard
well at least I hope not
Last but not least
the million dollar question that I get asked all the time
is how to pack petticoats
The thing about petticoats is that the fabric in itself doesn't take too much space
it's puffy because there's air in between
So you can either squeeze them into small bags
or you can do like me
put them on top of whatever you packed
squeeze them inside the zipper
Works for me!
Alrighty, that's all the tips I got for lolita packing
If you want to see me wearing these outfits
Please subscribe!
I'll be updating my travel vlogs very soon
If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up, comment and share!
See you next time!
