California animal lover Liz Heather Lee's journey started out as just an

ordinary Drive in early 2018 but as she motored a longer usual route the 28 year

old was distracted by most unusual sight there at the side of the highway was a

curious shape at first glance it looked like a very young dog but there was

something strange about its snout the intrepid Heather Lee gone out to

investigate but when she got closer to the shape her mouth dropped open retail

worker Heather Lee lives with her mongrel dog Jackson in the small

settlement of Greenville in South California in April 2018 hazard Lee

found herself in the heavy glare of the media spotlight with a special canine

but it was not her old friend Jackson in fact the animal in question was one she

had first come across earlier that month when Heather Lee left her house on April

4th there was no way she could have predicted what would happen that day she

was taking a drive in her car with her mother and her sisters passengers when

they noticed something out of the ordinary as a result the party made an

unscheduled and hasty stop it turned out that a small shape on the side of the

highway was the cause of the impulsive interruption to their car journey the

driver had correctly identified the mystery form as a little puppy

but Heather Lee had also singled out something weird concerning the young

dogs snout it looked like Mother Nature had bestowed a very distinctive

birthmark on the mud the animal lover described exactly what brought them up

short to UK tabloid The Daily Express later that April we noticed this black

and white puppy on the side of the road with a perfect white circle around his

mouth Heather Lee said it was so strange we decided to pull over Heather Lee

stopped the car with the intention of checking on the little tyke and its

highly individual marking however when she left her vehicle and approached the

pup it seemed totally terrified consequently the canine took off running

and retreated into a nearby ditch before any human could get close

despite her best efforts Heatherly could not reach the animal in its safe space

so she concocted a plan to lure the popper out by using a piece of tasty ham

as bait she managed to get hold of the obviously ravenous young dog but it was

only then that had Lilly realized what was wrong with the mutts nose far from

being a gift from Mother Nature the white band around its snout was actually

a plastic zip cord it appeared as if some wicked person had used the tie to

seal the poor animals mouth shut furthermore the canines cruel tormentor

had tied the band so tightly that it was cutting into the dog's sensitive flesh

needless to say there was no way Heather Lee was just going to leave the pup or

in such a sorry state with that in mind she whisked the ailing dog away to

Cleveland Park Animal Hospital in her hometown subsequent to a medical

assessment the vet concluded that the pup was roughly ten weeks old for such a

young age the little guy had already suffered so much a week or so after her

roadside discovery Heather spoke about it to her local

newspaper the Greenville News the zip tie had been put around his mouth so

tightly his mouth was all bloody and scabbed she explained the vet believed

he'd been zip tied for between three and four days so it wasn't surprising that

in addition to his injuries the malnourished mutt was awesome Utley 14

pounds lighter than he should have been as well as his other woes parasites of

both flea and tick varieties infested the black-and-white puppy's fur but

despite having endured such an evidently bad start to life there was now some

good news for the dog Heather Lee had decided to offer him a happy home

alongside her beloved Jackson indeed the animal lover decided to call the new

edition Norman and the veterinarian began treating his various issues

straightaway we got his shots and gave him a flea bath Heather Lee explained we

treated his cuts with the vitamin C oil once we got home understandably the

trauma of Norman's highway ordeal distressed him when he was welcomed to

his new Greenville home and how the released neighbors could probably

confirm that as the poor pup er cried throughout that first night nevertheless

his adoptive human mom had already fallen for his charms she was determined

to give the mistreated mutt be forever home he deserved

and Heatherly was not the only one in her immediate family who quickly came to

a door Norman the new arrival wasted little time and ingratiating himself

with his new humans first dog and apparently this came as a surprise as

Heatherly maintains that the discerning Jackson has always been very picky about

the company he keeps the canine fancier said as much to the

Daily Express my other dog Jackson usually hates other dogs she explained

but he seems to really like Norman sweet and timid demeanor they get along so

well yet since the younger animal was just a very young puppy he still had a

lot to learn Heather Lee continued we're struggling with potty training at the

moment but I think that's the case with all new puppies the animal lover was now

working hard to heal all of Norman's scars both emotional and physical and

thankfully the plucky pup has proved himself to be remarkably Hardy initially

Norman had a vivid band of scar tissue from where the zipper tie had embedded

itself into the skin of his snout in fact the vets thought it would be a

permanent brand of his past ill treatment and suffering

however Norman's fur has since started growing back and is doing a good job of

covering the wound however Heather Lee noted that the

replacement fur was a patchwork of white instead of Norman's predominantly black

colored and on the last apart from this feature there are no obvious outward

signs of trauma he endured as a very young pup and Heather Lee was happy to

report this in the article published by the Greenville News he's full of life

energy and happiness she told the newspaper to have had his mouth closed

shot and left for dead he's so resilient on that subject Lea

staff at the Cleveland Park Animal Hospital hope that Norman's story will

persuade members of the public to do more in the fight against animal abuse

the veterinarians there have asked people to volunteer foster donate or to

simply raise awareness of canine cruelty if they feel moved by Norman's plight as

Making an Insert For My Old 36" Oliver Bandsaw - Duration: 8:11.

I'm using a piece of mesquite drop-off for the insert

The first step is to rough out the blank to 3" wide x 3/8" thick

I'm waiting on the bandsaw to get to speed, takes about 20 seconds

The first two cuts establish the 3" width

This cut establishes the 3/8" thickness

I use my radial arm saw to cut the blank to rough length

Marking center

laying out the 3" circle with my compass

I'm using my coping saw to cut out the circle because I wanted the challenge of doing it by hand

I did a pretty poor job on this final cut

Now I'm drilling a hole in the exact center of my insert

Once the hole is drilled I install a t-nut and bolt into the insert

The bolt allows me to chuck the insert onto my lathe

Heads up...my lathe is in really bad shape, notice how bad it vibrates.

I'm using the lathe to turn the insert into a perfect 3" circle

I turn it slightly oversized

Then I use my spokeshave to carve a slight bevel around the edge

Here I've switched to my wooden spokeshave to take a more aggressive cut.

Perfect fit

Now I can use my scrub plane to begin the process of flushing the insert to the table top

I switch to my 4 1/2 smoothing plane which takes a much finer cut

I'll stop when the insert is just proud of the table top

Then I can finish with my orbital sander

Now I'm marking the line for the kerf, which is slightly off center on the insert

I use super glue with an activator to temporarily glue the insert onto a sacrificial board

Using my fence as a guide I cut the kerf into the insert

I have to be very careful because at this point the insert is very fragile

It actually cracked a little when it hit the floor

To strengthen the insert I'm installing a hickory spline

The first step is to cut a kerf into the back of the insert

I'm using my big saw so that I can get a larger kerf, which means a bigger stronger spline

Finally I glue the spline into the insert making sure to run the grain of the spline perpendicular to the grain on the insert

I use my bench vise to clamp the spline until the glue dries

Once the glue dries I cut and sand the spline smooth

will this exercise lift my jowls. now the reason why I'm talking to you about

this today is a lot of people do I ask it I hope that this video actually

answers it when you do a full face routine and when you apply all the

techniques to study the channel and all the things that I've given you on the

channel you have a very good opportunity of strengthening the muscles on your

face the only thing is is that I'm not there working with you on a one-to-one

level so I can't tell what's actually going on with you

so when somebody says I've got droopy eyes will this help me the only way it

will help you is if you actually try to do the exercises and try to work the

program I really honestly cannot say because if you've got droopy eyes it

could be an internal thing that's happening it could be a physical thing

that's happening and it could be something that maybe facial exercise

might not help there are so many different reasons why the facial

exercises don't help there are hormones with that drop in our bodies as women

and men there are diseases that we have there's all sorts of things that create

an environment of not supporting exercise so sometimes it works and

sometimes it doesn't now the other thing is is that people

will say well you know it's working on my eyes but not around my mouth well I

can attest to this myself because I've been doing the exercises

for years it's been working for me but I've

noticed over time that parts of me are aging and other parts aren't it's the

same thing there may be things in my body that's happening it may be hormones

are dropping the female hormones are dropping and when this happens it starts

to affect your fats also bone shrinkage bone shrinkage will start to make your

lips look wrinkled now I need you to understand this that when you're doing a

facial exercises even if you've been doing them and everything's going well

sometimes your body starts working in Reverse because something internal is

going on now when you find that's happening please go and see a doctor

get a blood test done or something that you can start to understand what's

actually going on in your body I know for me this is what's happening as well

as I age things are changing in my body and no matter how much facial exercise I

do I need to be aware of what's going on inside internally as well

now facial exercise is such a wonderful wonderful thing to help you take control

of your aging process I know it's done that for me I feel very happy about the

way I'm aging although little things happen and I think no I don't like that

I don't like this I know you all think that as well

so what we need to do is be sensible about it we need to be level-headed we

need to keep doing the exercises because if you stop it means that things will

get worse it's sort of like when you go to the gym that let's say you get really

fit and you're looking all perky like everything's perky and then all of a

sudden you stop going after a few months what's going to happen you're going to

start losing your fitness you're going to start going backwards and your body

is going to revert to what it would have been where you were at the age now your

body doesn't revert to where you were when you started exercising it will

revert to what your age is now this is the same with your facial exercises so

you need to keep going if you find things are happening go to the doctor

and find out if you think that an exercise may not work for you and you're

asking me well I can't tell you I'm sorry I would love to say yes of course

it's gonna work go and do it yes it's gonna do it I'd love to do that

but me being me because I am honest I'm an honest person for me I can't say

whether it's gonna work or not so all you can do is go and give it a go

run through the series you've got five series there to run

through every six weeks run through the series over that thirty weeks and see

how it's worked for you it might work it might not but all you can do is try and

that's what I love about facial exercise I really love it

because it's not going to hurt you it's a natural thing to do and this is your

chance to do something naturally to help you take control of your aging process

Hypothyroidism is a disorder that affects the body's ability to produce enough thyroid hormones, causing the metabolism to slow down.

The most common type of hypothyroidism is Hashimoto's thyroiditis, or autoimmune thyroiditis, where the thyroid gland becomes inflamed as a result of a malfunctioning immune system.

SYMPTOMS OF HYPOTHYROIDISM

Symptoms of hypothyroidism include: weakness, fatigue, weight gain or difficulty losing weight, dry hair, hair loss, brittle hair and fingernails, pale, dry and rough skin, irregular periods, intolerance to the cold, constipation, high cholesterol, muscle cramps and muscular pain, memory loss, depression, irritability and decreased libido.

A SPECIAL DIET FOR HYPOTHYROIDISM

It's important to have a healthy lifestyle which includes a nutritious diet and regular physical activity, as well as stress-management techniques and thyroid hormone medications prescribed by a qualified doctor.

Since there is no food or plan that can cure or prevent the disease, the weight gain effects can be compensated by consuming low calorie, nutrient-dense foods with a high vitamin and mineral content, in order to boost immune response and prevent other diseases.

A healthy diet is ideal for hypothyroidism.

Your diet should include foods such as fruits, vegetables and complex carbohydrates, for example whole grains, pasta, potatoes, corn and legumes, as well as proteins and healthy fats in moderation.

OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS

Omega-3 fatty acids are extremely important for the brain and for maintaining a healthy thyroid.

B-GROUP VITAMINS

B complex vitamins help the thyroid gland to produce energy, particularly B12, which is recommended for anemia and low thyroid function.

Foods high in B12 include mussels, organ meats, meat, eggs, milk, fortified cereals, seaweed and brewer's yeast.

Vitamin B9 is another important B vitamin for thyroid function and it can be found in legumes, avocado, oranges, cabbage, asparagus, spinach, cauliflower, wheat germ, and in milk in small amounts.

FOODS THAT MAY BE DETRIMENTAL.

The goitrogens are substances which interfere with thyroid function, because they are similar to human hormones like estrogen and the body reacts to them in a similar way.

Various foods contain these substances, and are worth avoiding if you have hypothyroidism.

Cruciferous vegetables contain goitrogens, and include cabbage, brocolli, Brussels sprouts, and soya and its derivatives may negatively affect the thyroid.

Samsung reportedly planning an August reveal for the Galaxy Note 9 ● Tech News ● #TECH - Duration: 2:19.

Like clockwork, the dog days of summer look set to bring revelations about Samsung's next

super-sized Galaxy smartphone.

The Galaxy Note 9 is reportedly pegged for an Aug. 9 reveal, according to Bloomberg.

It's not quite confirmed, with the site pointing only to "people familiar with the matter,"

but August makes sense.

Last year's Galaxy Note 8 was revealed in Aug. 2017, with the smartphone subsequently

releasing in September.

Bloomberg suggests that the Note 9 will be revealed during a similar "Unpacked" event

in New York, but it will happen a couple weeks earlier than the last one, which fell on Aug.

It's important to note that "Galaxy Note 9" isn't an official name, but it's the speculated

one based on naming and numbering conventions Samsung has used so far.

The new Note could also be released as early as late August.

Bloomberg says the updated smartphone will look similar to last year's model, though

it's expected to sport an upgraded Qualcomm processor "for some markets."

That, plus a new-and-improved camera are expected to be the focus of Samsung's reveal.

Only a few months ago, we heard that the Note 9 could be Samsung's first phone with a fingerprint

scanner built into the screen (a news item that contradicted an earlier report).

The Note is Samsung's large-format smartphone, the sort of thing that the internet used to

call a "phablet."

While there aren't any rumored specs to go on just yet, it's fair to speculate that the

smartphone will benefit from the same upgraded camera enjoyed by Galaxy S9 users.

How to make a necklace for Pride month - melted Perler beads necklace - Duration: 3:54.

Hi everyone! In this video I'm going to show you how to make an easy rainbow

necklace for pride month! You'll need Perler beads, parchment paper, waxed cord,

scissors, tube cord ends, E6000 glue, a lobster clasp, a small and a bigger jump

ring and two jewelry pliers. I'll link all the materials in the description box.

If your Perler beads are mixed - like mine -, take out a bunch in the rainbow

colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Preheat the oven at 200 degrees

Celsius or 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and

spread out your beads. Leave some space in between the beads and make sure they're

all positioned with the hole upward.

Place in the oven and let the beads melt until they don't melt any further. This

should take about 5 minutes. If you're enjoying the video so far,

removing them from the parchment paper.

Grab your waxed cord and slide your melted beads onto it in the correct order of

the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Keep repeating this until you

feel like you have enough beads on your necklace.

Then cut your necklace to the desired length and glue the ends of your waxed

cord into the tube cord ends with E6000 glue.

Let dry for a bit and then attach the small jump ring to one of the tube cords

and attach the lobster clasp to the jump ring.
