YouTube is in some serious hot water after social media users have been reporting that

they are getting anti gay ads before videos.

I'm going to tell you everything you need to know, here for you on IO.

Welcome back to inform overload, I'm Charlotte Dobre.

LGBT YouTuber Stevie Boebi shared a screenshot that shows an ad he saw before an Anna akana

video.

Gabydunn, an open bisexual, also shared a screenshot of the advertisement that appeared

before one of her videos as well.

The ad was for an organization called Alliance Defending freedom.

ADF is an American conservative Christian group that is openly against gay marriage

as well as gay adoption.

It is listed as an LGBT hate group under the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The ad was part of a video called Should The Government Force people to create art that

violates their beliefs.

Apparently it had to do with a real life story of a florist who refused to create floral

arrangements for a same sex wedding.

The video makes the case that she had every right to refuse to make the flower arrangements.

This particular case actually went to court, and the Washington supreme court did not side

with the woman who refused to make the floral arrangements.

That's not the only one though.

There's another anti gay ad from conservative radio host Michael brown, where his ads is

basically 2 minutes of him ranting about how being gay is bad.

The thing that's totally outrageous about this is YouTube demonetizes most lgbtq content,

yet at the same time they are allowing anti gay ads appear before videos.

I'm not even joking, gay is a controversial world and it automatically gets flagged, which

often leads to demonetization.

Simply because To make matters worse, these ads are appearing before LGBT YouTuber videos.

Why is YouTube taking money from anti-lgbt organizations and hate groups, yet at the

same time, preventing LGBT YouTubers from making income, when they have every right

to do so?

Naturally a lot of reactions to this on social media have called YouTube out for being homophobic.

Others blame the YouTube algorithm which Rowan Ellis described as being fundamentally flawed.

Meaning that YouTube might not know about whats going on since everything is automated.

But still, why flag terms like gay and LGBT, yet not screen advertisers that pay YouTube

to appear before videos?

What do you think, is YouTube homophobic?

Let me know in those comments.

For now I'm going to respond to some comments from previous videos.

Frisk – so basically what you're saying is, the matrix is real.

Yes that's exactly what im saying.

Mami Allan – I binge watch your videos every day when I feel like wanting to be potato.

Albert Tate | What is the Church? - Duration: 2:36.

When I think of the Church the word Koinonia comes to mind or even

fellowship. It's this idea of these called out ones called out by God

by the power of His blood. Transformed by the gospel called out to be the Bride of

Christ, to be Jesus in the earth. It is the greatest hope for the world. I often

say the church is God's plan A and there is no plan B.

One of the biggest hindrances is that we think that Church is really here to

serve us and to cater to us and we've made church about us and it's really about God.

So we'll never be one, we'll never experience that unity if we keep

individualizing our experience with Church in God in worship. My soul

salvation my favorite worship, my favorite Church, my favorite pastor.

It really doesn't matter. Christianity and Church is not a cruise ship.

A cruise ship is designed for your pleasure and your comfort. It's designed for that.

Christianity and the church is more like a battleship it's not driven by the

If you've ever been on the battleship. It's no pool on the Lido deck.

A battleship is driven by the mission for under the banner in which it flies.

That's Jesus Christ, that's the church it's not about our comforts it's about

His mission and if we make it about our comforts it'll divide us and keep us

from experiencing that oneness that we see in the Book of John.

What would we be like if we became one? I'd imagine we'd be a lot like what

we've been in many seasons in history.

We would be like the church Martin Luther

King's day when they marched over the bridge at Selma. That was the church

gathered together as one saying, "We're stomping out racism as we know it in the south."

It would be like the church when a lot of ladies with a heart for

sick children said, "Let's start building clinics in hospitals in our homes and in

our communities and in our churches. Now that will become known as hospitals

so that we can care for the sick." That's what it looks like when we become one.

When we become one, we change the world. As we have before and by God's grace we

will again because that's what the church does.
