ASPERGERS TEST: How To Test For Aspergers (FAST) - Duration: 7:24.
in this video you're gonna learn how to test for Asperger syndrome at home
effectively and fast coming right up
hey what's up I'm Dan I have Asperger's Syndrome ADHD and OCD I make videos on
helping people understand autism from an artistic point of view every single week
so if you want to learn more remember to hit that subscribe button so I've looked
around on the internet for other ways and other websites that have tests for
Asperger syndrome when I found this one in this video the most effective way to
test for Asperger's syndrome in your own home as a starting point oh and I'd also
like to know do you prefer saying Asperger syndrome or autism spectrum
disorder let me know in the comments below
welcome back Aspie World Fam the most awesome and most accepting family on
YouTube and if you're not a part of the family already make sure you hit that
subscribe button so you become part of this awesome accepting movement so we're
going to talk about what is Asperger's syndrome
what is the aq test and how we test for Asperger's syndrome
why this test is effective and then what do you do after you get your score from
this test because they're not sort of question a lot of people actually have
so why is Asperger's syndrome Asperger's syndrome is a neurological
condition that impairs people's social interaction and communication abilities
this is more common with people when they're trying to communicate socially
when they're trying to learn and understand in an academic point of view
that this is kind of a pattern that you may see somebody struggling in these
areas and it could be because they may be on the autism spectrum and Asperger's
syndrome is part of the autism spectrum it is at the higher end of the more
high-functioning autism spectrum disorders but it is still nonetheless a
very serious condition and Asperger's syndrome is part of the autism spectrum
disorder and is still on the autism spectrum condition and this is something
that we need to remember so as absolutely symptoms sometimes it's
called the hidden disability a lot of people don't really know that they have
it because it's not you know if you're physically disabled people could spot
it mildly because it's identifiable by a you know a third party it's a wheelchair
or something or a crutch or whatever that may be
but with Asperger's syndrome and autism these are classed as hidden disabilities
so how do you know if you have a hidden disability or not well the best way to
do it is to do some home checks I'll do some kind
of maybe home testing and see if it's right I mean you can sit down for ages
and do loads on those research and read like a ton of books and see if any of
those books actually help match up to the condition and then say well maybe
this person has it and then you have to go through all process of talking to
specialists and stuff but before you do that there is another way that you can
test for Asperger syndrome and see if you or a person you know how's the
condition if they're willing to take this test so why is it aq test well on
aq test is an Asperger's quiz Asperger's quota which basically means that it's a
series of questions that you answer honestly and openly in a certain format
and then it will score you on how well you did so basically how it works is
that you'll have a list of about 50 questions and each of the questions is
very specific to the condition of Asperger's syndrome now you have four
options you have like strongly agree slightly agree so I disagree and
strongly disagree so you have to answer the question about one of those four
items so once you do that and you have to go through every single one and the
best thing I can say about this actual test is that within aq test you have to
be honest and you have to go okay don't don't try and think about how you you
know you think seven inspection could feel or how you think somebody who's new
nurotypical should feel think about how you feel and how you will answer the
question specifically because again this is testing how much characteristics or
traits you have that align with this condition so that you can get the help
and access to help that you need effectively and efficiently so once
you've actually gone through all of the 50 questions and answer them honestly
and this is the best of your ability you can then click go get my score and then
it will score you so the scoring process can be anywhere from one to fifty and
the idea is that if you are between you know 28 and 33 that's kind of like
borderline autism or Asperger's syndrome but if you are from like 33 to 50 that
bracket means that you are more than likely on the spectrum or definitely
have of the condition that you're on the spectrum and this would advise you to
seek it further now for instance I scored 48 on the test when
I did it and this is one of the things that I did to go and get my diagnosis
and I'm going to talk about that in a short while if you're interested in
learning more about symptoms and traits of autism click the card above here
because I made a video on that specifically so why is the aq test
effective now the aq test isn't just something
that somebody's plonked online and said oh this will tell you if you have autism
or not no no this is an accredited way of doing it so when you go through an
autism screening when I have my diagnosis I actually took two or three
of the aq tests with different psychologists on autism specialists
because they use it as a base like a baseline for answering those specific
questions that affect the tride of impairment which is how they diagnose
autism in people so this test is highly effective and it is the most effective
way to test for autism and Asperger's syndrome in a person but the beauty of
it is you can do it from your own home I have actually left a link for this test
in the description below so you can actually do the test after this video I
find it very very effective and this is what I did so I wanted to talk about you
know what do you do have to get your aq test score and what do you do you know
so you've got you squeezed any test you got your score what's next well if your
score is lower than 33 I wouldn't think too much about it but maybe revisit it
again maybe in a year or two to see if you feel like you're gaining more
symptoms or something that isn't right because again let's also do the timing
you may be feeling really good and positive on one day and you may answer
the quiz it may not honestly reflect how you are as a person and how your traits
affect you but what I would say is that if you're from 33 to 50 I would say that
you should do what I did and what I did is I got this score result and then I
went to see my doctor but before going to see my doctor to speak about getting
a referral to an Asperger's specialist or an autistic unit or an autism
specialist or a mental health team to talk further about this in process of
getting a diagnosis I actually then compiled a list of things well I didn't
do it my family members on my partner she wrote down that list of traits that
she could see in me that were kind of non neurotypical traits where obviously
I couldn't really pick them up because yeah they are me and this is my daily
life but she could also find out if something was
not really new typical in the sense so once you've compiled your list and you
have your aq test score you can take both of these documents to the doctor
and ask for a referral to a mental health team or an autism specialist or
an Asperger specialist because they will be the ones to help diagnose you but the
thing is if you're helping them do their work for them and you've got an aq test
score and then you've also got this list of traits you're kind of ahead of the
game and or help speed up the process because it is a long process to learn
more about autism check out the next video in this line and hit that
subscribe button so you notified every single time I upload a video I'll see
you next time guys peace

Aliens Have Not Made Contact For THIS Unsettling Reason - Duration: 2:49.
The search for life in the universe feels like its never ending.
But after years and years of searching, have you ever wonder why we haven't found any
evidence of life on other planets?
Well according to a new study, the reason for that might be pretty unsettling, at least,
for people like me who would like to give an alien a hug.
Hey there, I'm charlotte dobre and you're watching IO.
We know that based on the rules of probability there has to be some other life forms out
there in the gigantic universe we live in, or at least, there had to have been another
civilization throughout the history of the universe.
It could be that no other complex life forms are currently living right now.
It also could be that there are no aliens at all.
Gamma ray bursts are extremely harmful and could be so frequent that they wipe out any
civilizations before they have a chance to evolve and develop to the point that they
create the technology needed to make contact with another planet.
Listen, it is possible for us to leave planet earth.
We know this.
But in order to do that, we need a tremendous amount of fuel to escape earth's gravitational
pull.
We need to move at 11 kilometers a second, or 7 miles per second.
Aliens that live on planets with stronger gravity than us, might not be able to leave
their planet at all.
To leave a planet with the mass 10 times that of our earth, the amount of fuel required
would be equivalent to the mass of the largest pyramid at Giza.
It not only means that aliens might be essentially trapped on their planets, they probably don't
have advanced technology.
If an alien world has more gravity, aliens wouldn't be able to put satellites into
space, or space telescopes which means they might not be able to detect other planets.
The concept of aliens might be completely alien to them.
There very well could be extra terrestrial life out there, a lot of it, but they are
simply, primitive in comparison to our civilization.
Anyways guys, what do you think of this theory?
Does it make sense to you?
Maybe advanced alien life has found a way to navigate the universe without using fuel?
But with our current understanding of science, is that even possible?
While you ponder that, I'm going to respond to some comments.
Adrinette lovers – Charlotte you are so awesome and should make vids of trump or some
shit.
We do not cover trump on this channel for many reasons.
Mostly, We like to keep it light, and covering politics invites a lot of negativity.

I do not.
I have no pets sadly.
Maybe I'll get a pet potato just for you.

A Message For You - Duration: 1:37.
Hello
I'm Philip J. Wolfe
I am running for Portland City Council 2018, position 2
For the past 9 months of running my campaign, it has been very challenging, exciting and fun
There is one thing I want you to seriously think about who you want to vote for
Hey, you know, I have faced barriers, oppression, and discrimination through certain forums I have gone to...
There was this certain forum that stuck in my head...
Where all candidates on the panel who witnessed me struggling with barriers which affects my presentation. This impacts my vote
This clearly proves that this is not a fair, transparent and accessible race
All the candidates perfectly saw and knew this, yet, they did nothing but went on with it
There was a candidate, Julia who sat next to me, I wrote a note to her telling her this is not accessible...
Julia nodded in agreement, looked at me and then looked at the audience and went on as if nothing happened. I was like... ouch
Now with that said, I ask you, will these candidates fight for you?
If it was the other way around, I would have stood up and say, hey, this is not accessible, this is not right, using my privilege to empower accessibility
I would. I will fight for you.
Now, you, please, hold me accountable to my promise that I will fight for you
So, please, when you vote, take this in serious consideration. Thank you. Good luck!

Part 3 - Healthy Living for Life - Working Together to Build Dementia-Friendly Communities - Duration: 7:53.
welcome back Nick Hart is still with us and we're now joined by Patti Holkup
of Dementia Friendly Missoula Patti thanks for joining us and I do want to
talk to you about Missoula in just a minute but before we do that Nick can
you just start us out by explaining what a dementia-friendly community is sure
it's it's a community where people with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of
dementia and their caregivers are treated with respect and dignity and are
encouraged to participate in community life so it means informing the community
so it's a safe and supportive place for people with dementia getting community
businesses on board to develop dementia friendly practices putting emergency
intervention and prevention programs in place so caregivers and other people in
the community know what to do in the event of an emergency involving dementia
training law enforcement and other emergency responders appropriately and
then focusing on initiatives that take action against elder abuse especially in
health care settings like nursing homes or assisted living residences okay great
thank you for that and so Patti Missoula has taken this on it's one of the
communities in Montana working to become a dementia-friendly community how did
Missoula start well we got our start by having there about four or five people
who were involved with a statewide effort to develop the Montana state
Alzheimer's plan and we would meet every couple of months in Helena so this group
got to know each other in the car on the way there and several of us had been
caregivers and we traded experiences and shared frustrations and gaps that caused
some of those frustrations gaps in the house a health care system so as we
collect the data for the state plan we realized that we weren't alone and so we
came back to Missoula and said we want to do something about about Alzheimer's
to make things better for both people with dementia as well as their
caregivers the gaps were just an example of a
couple upon diagnosis a patient might ask well now what should I do and too
often the answer was we don't really know the other thing is is early
diagnosis wasn't always happening people could come wanting have with concerns
about cognition but because of the the misperception that there's nothing that
can be done I think that care providers weren't comfortable giving a very
difficult diagnosis the first year goals that we had was to them to raise
awareness and provide support and education to individuals with dementia
and their caregivers at the point of diagnosis and the second year we added
promoting a perspective change from a limitations based cognitive decline
diagnosis to a strengths-based perspective and that's when we began to
think we want to move toward helping Missoula become a dementia-friendly
community we had four agencies who were very supportive of us Missoula Aging
Services the Montana Geriatric Education Center of the University of Montana and
the Rural Institute from the University of Montana as well as the Montana
Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association okay and you mentioned the gaps in the
health care system can you talk a little bit about what you've done so far to
help the health care providers be a little more comfortable with dementia
and Alzheimer's definitely and that was our first efforts our first efforts were
two-pronged focusing on primary care providers as well as the consumer of
health care we developed brochures that we could distribute to provider offices
and clinics where they'd be in the waiting room so that folks who were
being seen could take a look at these brochures in the brochures were lists of
community resources to answer that question what's next as well as to pass
brochures from the Alzheimer's Association Nick has just mentioned
know the ten signs early diagnosis matters and principles for a dignified diagnosis
that would help the consumer think of questions to ask and what to expect
we've also had two Friday morning medical conferences one each year these are
continuing education times for care providers primary care providers a panel
with to provide the subjective experience of either being a caregiver
or someone with dementia three people talked about their experiences the one
who had dementia about his experience when he received the
diagnosis his what he went through as he was kind of absorbing this and realizing
there was he needed to redefine his life although he was still the person he
always was but just couldn't remember like he used to
we had a vendor table at the Missoula Montana College of Physicians annual
scientific conference and really tried to promote information about the new CMS
code which allows for care planning post diagnosis so that again addresses the
what's next do we do we've had Dr. Hartley from the Alzheimer's Association
director of science initiatives speak at another medical conference spoke to the
University of Montana faculty and students primarily in the helping
professions and at the western Montana family medicine residency program so
speaking to students who are coming up and then for the past three semesters
we've also had a three the other three semesters we've had students from
Montana State University College of Nursing who have worked with our group
in for a program called population-based nursing care in the community they've
learned good understanding about dementia a little bit about reaching out
and engaging the community and then they take some of our powerpoints our
teaching and powerpoints back to their fellow peers primarily the junior junior
students okay sounds like you've done a lot yeah and that's great and if there
are other communities I know some are already starting but if people are
interested we'll make sure to put a website for them up on this screen but
we are at a time so Nick Patti thanks so much for being with us all the best to
both of you and your future endeavors as you work on Alzheimer's and other forms
of dementia and thank you so much for joining us this week we hope you'll come
back next week until then stay fit stay well and stay healthy for life with

Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen apologizes for offensive tweets on day of NFL draft - Duration: 2:14.
Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen apologizes for offensive tweets on day of NFL draft
Josh Allen, the Wyoming quarterback who could potentially be the No. 1 pick of the NFL draft,
apologized early Thursday for offensive tweets — which included several racial slurs — that
he wrote when he was in high school but re-surfaced Wednesday night.
Allen, who will be 22 next month, owned up to the tweets, which were from from 2012 and
2013, and apologized to ESPN.
The tweets, which no longer appear on his Twitter account of more than 17,000 followers,
were flagged by Yahoo!
Sports on Wednesday.
They included several posts with a racial slur toward African-Americans.
Allen is white.
"If I could go back in time, I would never have done this in a heartbeat," Allen told
ESPN later Thursday.
"I'm not the type of person I was at 14 and 15 that I tweeted so recklessly.
...I don't want that to be the impression of who I am, because that is not me.
I apologize for what I did.
"It sucks.
My family is hurting.
We never envisioned a day or night like this."
Allen also tweeted, in 2013, "if it ain't white, it ain't right!" — a quote from the
show, Modern Family.
He said that some of the racially insensitive tweets were rap song lyrics and that it is
possible some of the tweets could have been written by his friends.
To this point, Allen had been considered a first-round lock and a possible target of
the Cleveland Browns, who own the first and fourth overall picks of the draft.
Allen's former Wyoming coach, Craig Bohl, issued a statement about the quarterback on
Thursday morning:
"I know Josh has apologized for the Twitter comments he made while in high school," Bohl's
statement read.
"As a member of our football team, he had great relationships with his teammates and
our fanbase.
During his time at Wyoming, he embraced diversity.
We wish him all the best on his big night."

Luis Garcia states his prediction for Arsenal v Atletico Madrid in Europa League semi final ●#AFC - Duration: 2:25.
The Liverpool FC legend is tipping Atletico Madrid to beat Arsenal in the Europa League
Luis Garcia is backing Arsenal to beat Atletico Madrid in the Europa League semi-final.
The Gunners will welcome the Spanish side to the Emirates Stadium for the opening leg
of their first Europa League semi-final on Thursday night.
Arsenal are aiming to win Europe's second tier competition to secure a place in next
season's Champions League.
The north London side missed out on a spot at Europe's top table last term after the
Gunners finished behind Liverpool FC.
Arsene Wenger's side are in sixth spot in the English top flight and a long way behind
Tottenham Hotspur in fourth.
Atletico have beaten English opposition in seven of their nine two-legged ties in Uefa
competition, including a Europe League semi-final win over Liverpool FC in 2010 before beating
Fulham in the final.
Former Liverpool FC star Garcia believes Atletico will ease past Arsenal to reach their second
Europa League final under Simeone.
"It's easy for me.
Even though Arsenal are a fantastic team and they've done very well in the Europa League,
I think on this occasion Atletico Madrid look very strong, very compact at the back and
have a lot of power up front," Garcia told BetStars.
"I think that's where Atletico Madrid can do a lot of damage to Arsenal."
Arsenal lost to Turkish side Galatasaray in the Uefa Cup final in 2000.
The Gunners have beaten Serie A giants AC Milan and Russian side CSKA Moscow in the
previous two rounds of the Europa League.
Arsenal haven't won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when the Gunners finished the
season unbeaten.

BTS Destroys The Record For Most Album Pre-Orders
BTS has broken their own record for most album pre-orders with their upcoming album, "LOVE YOURSELF 轉 Tear"!.
According to iRiver, the company in charge of distributing "LOVE YOURSELF 轉 Tear," pre-orders began on April 18, and recorded 1,449,287 units by the end of April 24.
Within 6 days, BTS has already surpassed pre-orders for their 2017 mini album "LOVE YOURSELF 承 Her," which recorded 1,051,546 million units.
Impressively, the record set was purely through domestic sales.
Authorized international sellers such as Amazon, Target, and Best Buy were not included in the tally, so actual pre-sale numbers are expected to be even higher.
BTS will release "LOVE YOURSELF 轉 TEAR" on May 18.
Stay tuned for more updates!.

How To Play 'Alone' by Hollyn on Guitar (For Beginners) - Duration: 10:36.
hey brothers and sisters I'm gonna show you how to play Alone by Hollyn this
was my first cover that I put out two three years ago I'm wondering why I
didn't do this tutorial before because it has such a cool guitar part so I'm
gonna show it to you standard tuning the verse sounds like this the intro and the
verse
and I don't know if the tempo is correct but what you need to know is the
shape of your fingers it's a very fun thing to play so you put your first finger on
the fifth string of the fifth fret and your third finger on the second string
sixth fret and this shape is something more or less that stays throughout so as
you can see these two frets are right next to each other only in the second
chord you move your fingers slightly apart but otherwise the other chords
have a similar similar pattern of how you hold your fingers and the chords
actually D minor F Asharp A so you are playing these chords up here in a very
fun way and that's the sound you get and then I slide up from D minor to F my
first finger remains the same but it's now on the eighth fret and now instead
of using my third finger I'm gonna use my fourth finger just because we are
skipping one fret in between where as here it was together and here we skip
so I'm using my third my little finger my *fourth finger and this will be on the
tenth fret so that's eighth and this is the tenth and you have that sound and then you
want to go to A sharp which is on the top string 6 fret and this is a shame shame
sape the same shape as your D minor chord on the third string is where you
place your third finger and slide down one fret down respectively on the fifth
fret and sixth fret did you get that was that confusing so
first thing is fifth sixth fret of the fifth string and second string when you
slide up to the 8th fret and the 10th fret same strings then you move up to
the top string and the third string of the sixth and seventh fret and then you
slide down to the fifth and sixth fret with the same pattern now for the
picking you are holding the same strings that you
pressing with your left hand fingers you wanna do it in a very staccato
way and it's gonna be like this
you want that stop stop stop stop to come
not like that
you want to stop stop stop it so how you're gonna do that
is every time I pick I'm going to release the pressure on my left hand so
as opposed to
so every time I pick I'm releasing this pressure and it's gonna
look like that
that's how the
sound comes so the first two chords my right
hand is playing the same strings
but the next two chords it shifts
one string up both these fingers because that's how my left hand is shifting as
well so I'm basically following my right hand with my left hand
following my left hand with my right hand
top string and the third string
same as what I'm doing
with my left hand
so that's the intro and the verse it's it's fun to play easy
simple and if it's not easy and simple don't get angry with me for using those words
but keep trying and you will get it and I'm not sure this is exactly how they're
playing or they playing a fuller chord like this I just play those two strings
because it's much more easy for me and then we have the chorus which is full
chords how I play because it's around the same area I don't want to like shift
my hand too much if you want to go to playing the chords over here that's fine
but how I play it is the full bar chord of A sharp did I tell you the chords it's A
sharp A D minor and then F this is A sharp
do you know how to play A sharp if you don't it's the same chord as what we did with
our left hand in the sixth and seventh fret but we are adding more notes once
you get this shape of the bar chord everything is gonna be the same except F
okay so I just I'll just say this shape once and that you know can apply it in
the other chords as well first string where it is in the sixth string sixth fret and I
put my second finger on the third string of the seventh fret fourth finger on the
eighth fret fifth string and the fourth finger on the fourth string 8th fret I
don't know why that's so confusing to say and you have this if you don't know
how to play the entire bar chord like I'm pressing all the strings to give it that
full sound then you can just play the top four strings and it'll still sound
okay but to give it a fuller sound press all the strings with your one finger and
that's going to take so much time but do it so as you can see the first chord and
the second chord are similar except is sliding down by one fret
the third chord you just move one string down same shape same shape and
here it's different so either you change the shape the shape
is actually like this okay as opposed to this so either you change the shape and
remove your second finger and press three strings how I'm doing over here or
you can use your second third and fourth finger to press those three whatever
works for you or you can even just play these two strings and just leave out the
second string entirely it's a little less full of a sound
but it works so then we have
it's a nice song to sing anyway in the first round is four chords and the second
time you just stop on D minor and you repeat that pattern 2 times oh yeah
let's go to the strumming of the chorus so I'm doing two down strokes slap two
slap down down slap down down slap
the second time when you stay on D minor is when
you can strum properly like
it's hard to tell you my strumming
patterns because my strumming patterns are based on what I play so if that
doesn't work for you figure out something of your own I'm not trying to
be mean I'm just allowing you children to grow in your guitaring you can do
so many things with the chorus with the strumming but just remember to give it
that kind of percussive feel that is there in the original song which is
really important to the song hold hold leave hold hold
leave by leave I mean release the pressure that you're holding so that it
gives the muted muted sound so like or just simply slap like experiment and try
things out so you have the verse and then you have this chorus and you have
the verse again and then you have the chorus and then we go to the rap you
should totally check out my cover for that because it was so hard for me to
rap I just did this
of course it sounds very very plain but this is the the kind
of groove you want to give definitely you want to give that slap to it to give
it a more percussive feel so what you do if you aren't rapping it's the same
thing as the chorus but instead of doing a down stroke you can do a Down stroke
or you can just pick use three fingers and pick
same patterns so I'm just picking the three strings I'm leaving
one in the middle because I can't pick with four fingers that's a bit weird so
I'm just picking the top string the fourth and fifth string I'm gonna come
down on it and slap it down BAM you want to hear it I hear me rap yeah let's go
yeah I forgot it's quite hard to play and rap at the same time but I did it it might
cover anyhow no I didn't I played the guitar separately by the way this is such a
stupid like don't get distracted I don't know if I distracted you now by it but
it's just I was folding up my tripod yesterday and it pinched my skin so hard
that skin came out and it was bleeding I just put a bandage to kind of prevent
further damage in that area it's not hurting or anything like that anyway
that's the song that's all there is to the song and like I said check out my
cover I really like this song and I really loved singing it so the link is
down below and in the card in the video I'm Vihan Damaris on how to Thursday
signing off and I'll see you on serious Sundays bye and always strive to be
like Jesus and
tell me what songs you want me to teach next on guitar or in
singing if there's a song that you want to sing and you're not able to sing I
can teach that too because I also sing you know
kay bye

help make sure people living with dementia are cared for and treated with
respect welcome to Healthy Living for Life a
show dedicated to helping you do just that
I'm your host Beth Brown today we talk about what it means to be a dementia
friendly community stay tuned we'll be right back
welcome back joining us this morning is Nick Hart with the Montana chapter of
the Alzheimer's Association but before we talk to Nick we wanted to share this
video with you which provides some national facts about Alzheimer's
so Nick watching the video it's shocking to see how many people are affected by
Alzheimer's and we're gonna talk about that here in just a minute but first can
you start out by explaining what Alzheimer's is sure one of the most
common questions that we get is what is the difference between Alzheimer's and
dementia and it helps to think of dementia as more of a general umbrella
term that's used to describe the loss of memory and cognitive abilities severe
enough to interfere with daily life and there are actually dozens of different
types of dementia again it's an umbrella term Alzheimer's disease is the most
common it's estimated that Alzheimer's accounts
for between 60 and 80 percent of these cases so it obviously causes problems
with memory thinking and behavior in the early stage dementia symptoms may be
minimal but as the disease causes more damage to the brain symptoms tend to
worsen okay so memory loss is the most common symptom obviously and but you
know dementia can interfere with communication skills and the ability to
use language the ability to focus and pay attention your ability to have good
reason and good judgment as well as your visual perception okay and there isn't a
cure for Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia but how are they treated so
that's a very good question there are two kinds of medication that have been
approved but they can't stop the progression of the disease
they may lessen or stabilize symptoms over time but they can't stop the
progression of the disease and that's something that's important to remember
people with dementia can become irritable anxious depressed and as the
brain deteriorates they can get angry and even physically and verbally
aggressive so we offer classes to help caregivers understand what triggers
those behaviors and the great and - how to adjust the situation be it
environmental physical discomfort so for example if a person gets agitated when
it's noisy you may be able to help that by creating a calm and quiet environment
okay are there risk factors that people should know about that maybe put them at
a greater risk for developing Alzheimer's or other dementia the one
greatest risk factor is age just by virtue of living longer we're all at a
greater risk of developing this disease most people with the disease are age 65
and older but we estimate the nearly one-third of people 85 and older are
experiencing some sort of dementia okay yeah but Alzheimer's is obviously not
just a disease of old age there are around 200,000 Americans right now under
the age of 65 that have what is called younger onset Alzheimer's disease and
that number is growing as well okay Wow so are there early symptoms that people
should be aware of or how is Alzheimer's diagnosed so the most common early
symptom is having trouble with short-term memory so remembering
something you just learned we have a brochure that anybody can request it's
called know the ten warning signs early detection matters and we know that early
diagnosis is is very important because it gives people a better chance to
benefit from the treatments that we do have and it allows more time for them to
plan for the future so there's no one test that can diagnose Alzheimer's or
other forms of dementia so if someone is having memory problems or is concerned
about themselves or a loved one they should talk to a doctor definitely a
doctor would do a comprehensive medical evaluation one that includes a physical
and neurological exam as well the exam would include blood tests and brain
imaging to rule out other causes of dementia like symptoms like a medication
related to another undiagnosed condition okay so we're about out of time here but
just really quickly can you talk a little bit about how you tell the
difference between old age and memory loss versus this could be dementia or
Alzheimer's sure as people age it's normal to have some memory problems
obviously we say that memory loss is a normal part of aging but dementia is not
so that memory loss can look like forgetting the name of a person that you
just met but Alzheimer's causes brain cells to malfunction and ultimately die
so the memory loss that comes from that includes things like
forgetting what roads you used to take home and that you've taken home for years or
forgetting the name of a longtime friend no matter how you no matter your age if
you're having memory issues it's important to talk to a doctor about that
you should see a physician and find out what's going on okay great great advice
thank you so we do need to take a break but coming up next what is being done
across the country and in local communities to support people with
Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia we're gonna find out right after this
stay with us we'll be right back

New Medicare Marketing Strategy For Getting Referrals! - Duration: 0:56.
What's up and welcome back to Bite-sized Marketing. Where I give Medicare agents
quick tips and tricks on how to find customers online. Now today we're going
to go over a strategy that you can implement today to find customers on
Facebook. Now in an earlier episode we covered all the awesome tools that you
can use in Facebook to find potential customers. The tools being that you could
find customers by their age, location, and birthday. Now these same tools can be
used to find the children of seniors in Facebook as well. "Whaaaaaaat."
Same concept. Just use a
little bit of math to figure out the age and then you're on your way. Many seniors
have their children help them make these big decisions, so reaching out and getting in
front of them as well can make for a killer referral. Sell their kids on how
much you can help and they'll sell you. Now that concludes this episode of Bite-sized
Marketing. Now if you have any questions or like to request a topic, then feel
free to leave it in the comments below. Again thanks for hanging out my name is
Steven Coney of Steven Knows Marketing and I help Medicare agents find customers
online. Take care. Peace!

How to STOP Your Cat Spraying Everywhere: 9 tips for success! - Duration: 8:31.
today I'm going to give you nine tips for how to stop your cat spraying
everywhere hi I'm dr. Alex Avery from ourpetshealth.com helping you and
your cat to live a healthier happier life so if it's your first time here
consider subscribing so you don't miss out on future videos
now cats who urinate everywhere who are spraying outside of the litter tray
they're urinating outside the litter tray they're have accidents around the house
it's a really stressful time not just for you but also for your cat and there
are a number of things we can do to stop that so today I'm gonna give you 9 tips
and 9 steps so step number one is to understand why cats spray so spraying is
a marking behavior they are leaving their urine scent mark in their
environment really to let other cats and other animals know that they're around
it helps them control their territory it helps avoid conflict with other cats and
so that's really why they're doing it they're marking their territory
so step number two to stop your cat spraying everywhere is to understand the
difference between spraying and actually inappropriate urination so when your cat
is spraying they will typically back up to a vertical surface or like a wall
maybe the side of your sofa and they will often lift their tail it may twitch
a little bit and the urine will spray out and onto that vertical surface so
that's really spraying urination on the other hand they will get into a
crouching position and they will urinate as though they're urinating normally
they might strain a little bit and things like that but they will be
urinating on a horizontal surface so that's really the big difference between
urination and spraying and that's really important so step number three is to
make sure there's no underlying medical condition and this is definitely the
case if your cat is urinating inappropriately rather than spraying so
if they're squatting but they're not using their litter tray they're going in
different parts then that might be a sign that something else is going on and
there are a whole heap of different problems that can cause inappropriate
urination in cats and may include things like arthritis
diabetes kidney disease where there may be either difficulty
getting into the litter tray or your cat may be just producing so much urine
they really just need to go all the time and then other conditions that actually
affect the bladder and urinary tract itself so things like cystitis bladder
tumors and bladder stones that kind of thing so if there's anything like that
going on then obviously we need to tackle the root cause and that should
resolve and correct the problem with inappropriate urination if your cats got
arthritis I've certainly got several videos and strategies about that and
also with cystitis I've got some videos and strategies that we can use to cope
with that so make sure you check out those videos which I'll link down in the
description below okay so step number four is to check that your cat is
neutered so this might seem like an obvious thing but our cats who are
neutered are much less likely to spray they've got less of a drive to maintain
a territory to defend that territory they're generally less stressed as well
so if your cat is spraying and they are entire then getting them neutered it might be
just what needs to happen to resolve that problem there are so many other
reasons that we should be getting our cats spayed or castrated and
I've got a video that I'll link up here and also down in the description that
lets you know the benefits of that and also when you should consider getting
your cat neutered so step number five is to reduce your cat stress levels so this
is especially the case if they're spraying stress really just causes them
to want to mark their territory more so as well as spraying they might be
clawing and scratching the furniture again just trying to mark out their
territory stress is a huge issue in cats and it's often one that we don't
recognize maybe as well as we should just because some of the signs
can be subtle but spraying is often really a true sign that your cat is
stressed they can be stressed about a lot of different things and there are a
whole number of ways that we can go about correcting that which might
involve in environmental changes making sure other cats aren't coming into your
house and eating their food making sure there's the right number of food bowls
and litter trays depending on the number of cats in your house and I've got a lot
of other tips in the video I'll link up here all about reducing stress in your
cat okay step number six is to consider litter tray management so that
involves what type of litter you're using so some cats will really like one litter
that maybe is unscented and you're using a scented one they might dislike a clay
based one that can actually clump and stick to the soles of their feet
so consider the litter type the litter tray type as well so if your cat has
arthritis then they might find actually getting into a high lip litter tray
quite difficult consider where you're putting your litter tray so cats will
generally like a private enclosed area so not in really busy kind of through
traffic areas so the middle of the hall by the front door really wouldn't be a
great spot for for their litter tray also cleaning them regularly so again
some cats will only really want to use a litter tray once or they won't use it
if another cat has been in there so making sure that you clean the litter tray regularly
enough and then having enough litter trays so as a general rule we should
have one more litter tray than the number of cats in the house so if you've
only got one cat then that's two litter trays
if you've got four cats then really you need five litter trays all in different
locations so litter tray management is another way that we can
stop our cat spraying everywhere and urinating everywhere so at step number
seven and if there's still a problem after all of these other tips if your
cat especially if they're spraying or urinating in one spot in particular what
you can try and do is either actually just move their litter tray there it
might not be where you want it but if you can get them back using the litter
tray you can then slowly move it back to a position where you're happy for that
litter tray to be alternatively you can even actually try putting their food and
water in that area cats are really clean hygienic animals in general and
they don't like peeing where their food or their water is so putting that there
can help put them off so step number eight is to clean up properly after your
cat so there are certain things within the cat's urine that will attract them
back to that same spot and so they'll often keep re-marking in the same
spot now what this means is that we need to clean that area properly now what I
generally suggest is that while there are various sprays and cleaners on the
market which do a good job another thing that we can use is we can use biological
washing powder just mix that with a bit of water
to create a solution and then just really scrub that area and allow that to
soak in and what will happen is the enzymes in that biological washing
powder will help break down all of the things that are attracting
your cat back to that area the same goes for the sprays they work in a very
similar way but making sure that you clean up really appropriately and
quickly and with the right cleaner is very important and then step number nine
is things to avoid so you should definitely avoid negative reinforcement
so don't shout at your cat don't kind of punish them in any way especially if
it's a long time after they're doing that spraying or urinating because all
that's going to do is going to make them more stressed they're probably not going
to understand have a clue what they've done wrong and that's probably only
going to make the problem worse it's certainly not going to improve the
situation another thing that we should avoid doing in cats that are urinating
everywhere or your anything outside of their litter tray is to use ammonia
based cleaning products so they have things that ammonia is what's kind of
actually attracting cats back to the area so by using things like bleach you
can actually be kind of just perpetuating the problem because your
cat will be attracted back to that area and then the last thing that you should
avoid doing is avoid using deterrant sprays so again if you've got something
in a cat's environment that really is repelling them it's only going to cause
them more stress and while they might not urinate in that particular spot
again they're just going to go and find somewhere else to urinate and it's not
going to be in the litter tray so I hope all of these points these nine tips to
stop your cat urinating everywhere help solve your habit I know it can be an
incredibly stressful time both for your cat and for you as their owner if you've
got any other tips that have really worked for you or if you've got any
questions then please leave me a comment down below also remember to subscribe to
