He said "women are being raped at levels nobody has ever seen before," specifically

in reference to the immigrant journey north to the U.S.

Oh yes, these are definitely the people we want running around our country.

Did you know that according to an Amnesty International report, during that journey

north, a shocking six out of ten migrant women and girls were raped?

Said White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders in a statement on Thursday evening:

"Not sure why the media is acting like this isn't a well-established fact –women and

young girls are brutally victimized on the journey north.

Strikes me as quite bizarre that reporters would try to cover up the gross atrocities

perpetuated by smugglers and coyotes."

Oh, it isn't bizarre.

It's just what the far-left media does, and precisely why no American with a brain

should ever trust them.

And it's also why we need that border wall ASAP!

Extending Intent: SD-Access for IoT and Distributed Campus on TechWiseTV - Duration: 14:30.

- [Robb] Intent-based networking anchored by Cisco's DNA Center is moving fast.

Software-defined access represents the Network Fabric that abstracts the data and

the control plane so we can get a previously unimaginable ease of use.

We only started all this publicly last summer, yet we've seen a really fast

pace coming out of Cisco engineering teams.

- [Lauren] Now we can extend policy-based, intent-driven networking to the campus and

the enterprise. Today, we're introducing two new capabilities,

SD-Access Extension for IoT and SD-Access for Distributed Campus.

Let's go to Robb in the lounge to find out more.

- [Robb] All right, guys, welcome. I am here with Rohan Grover,

Director of Product Management for Cisco's enterprise networking team.

Welcome to <i>TechWiseTV.</i>

- [Rohan] Thanks, Robb.

- [Robb] Good to have you here. So we're talking about some new stuff

around Cisco's intent-based networking and how that plays into software-defined

access and extending that, if you will. But before we jump into those details,

and I want to get them from you, just in case anybody's not that familiar

with SDA and some of the acronym stuff we use, can you give us kind of the quick

definition of what we need to understand here?

- [Rohan] Sure. So SD-Access is Cisco's premier intent-based networking solution

for enterprise networks. What we have really done is taken

policy-based automation and moved that into enterprise networks using DNA Center.

And this is something that we announced back in June, and we have been getting

incredible traction on this from our customers.

- [Robb] Yeah, because it really makes a lot of things easier.

So we talk about about segmentation, which has always been a real scary thing

for people to think about doing that to any level of detail,

suddenly becomes easier. It's a Fabric as we take, kind of,

these SDN concepts and make them real and simple through a single interface.

You mentioned DNA Center. So software-defined access does kind

of refer to that Fabric and how the switches and routers and such are all

working together to create this and abstract what we have to deal with.

Am I saying that correctly?

- [Rohan] That's right. So we basically have made segmentation a

whole lot easier using automated workflows and building that on top of a

campus Fabric. So we've extended all of these concepts of SDN

into enterprise networks, and it is very much needed today.

- [Robb] Okay, so the thing we love about it is it makes everything easy to do

through a single interface. You know, the traditional ads move changes,

if you will, but IP addressing to segmentation to really taking business

intent and mapping it into your technical policy becomes so much simpler.

But we could only really do that, as we first announced it,

up to this point for a single location. Granted, we could go to another location,

and it could be just as easy, but it was a separate thing.

What's changed now, and what are you announcing?

- [Rohan] So, we're super excited about a couple of things that have changed in what

we're announcing. So as you said, we started off with doing SD-Access in a

single campus location, and it was meant for your traditional

users and devices. What we're now doing is extending intent-based networking

for IoT networks. Like, as IT and OT have come closer together,

there's increasingly need for use cases around things like parking lots,

manufacturing areas. You have security cameras everywhere.

You have sensors everywhere. Outdoors.

- [Robb] Okay, so this is Industrial Ethernet and some of that switch line that

we have there is able to now participate in the Fabric, is what you're saying

with this?

- [Rohan] That's correct. So it's the Industrial Ethernet switches,

which is the industrial IoT side of things. It's also the carpeted IoT

in building management systems, for example.

- [Robb] Okay, so both. Okay, so it could be from devices to just,

really, areas that are hot, wet, other places where we have

unique applications. Those things can participate

in the simplicity, the Fabric. What about the new, relatively new anyway,

Digital Building switch? Is that part of it as well?

- [Rohan] That's certainly part of it as well. So when you connect HVAC systems and

lighting systems, you want to be able to extend the same policy-based automation

that you do on a wiring closet switch to these kind of switches like a Digital

Building switch, as well as the Industrial Ethernet switches. And now,

with intent-based networking for IoT with SD-Access Extended Node,

you can finally do this.

- [Robb] Excellent. Okay, so we cover the IoT, but also,

this is about extending to multiple locations at, kind of,

a metropolitan area, correct? - [Rohan] Yes.

- [Robb] So help me understand that, how that works.

- [Rohan] So that's the other big piece of what we're announcing.

So SD-Access for Distributed Campus is what we are actually calling it.

I know it's a mouthful. But it's basically, we have about 50

customers that are live in production with SD-Access today. They have done this in a

single building or a single campus location. And naturally,

they're asking us, "How do I spread this across my larger campus location?"

Like, for example, there's a very large healthcare provider that I can't name,

and they have a number of hospital campuses in one location.

They have a number of clinics as well. Some of these locations,

like emergency rooms and operation theaters, have very clear

resiliency requirements. And we had to build and expand SD-Access

to take care of those. So SD-Access for Distributed Campus lets

you build a Fabric that spans a metropolitan area, different campuses,

different clinics, and provides the local resiliency and scale that's needed so that

a failure in one location does not impact any other location.

- [Robb] I got you. Well, and also, I think...and so correct me if I'm wrong.

But let's just imagine for the sake of the example that I'm a doctor.

Let's just say that I actually went to that trouble and I became...

- [Rohan] Sure. It's a stretch, but yes.

- [Robb] It's a stretch, but just for the example.

So if I'm working at a large healthcare network, in this situation,

there's multiple hospitals in a given area, maybe clinics and such like this.

Normally, you'd define policy for that doctor they've got rights in a certain

emergency room, maybe operating rooms, clinics, different stuff.

And as they move around, traditionally, they would be having to build a unique

policy for every location, hopefully replicate it correctly,

and then update it when it needs updating and things like this.

That goes away because now you're treating almost multiple metropolitan locations as,

like, one really big network. And so you deploy once,

it propagates everywhere, and then the people that move

between those can have really granular policies. Now you don't have to be afraid

of that because it's going to be replicated. There's not going to be

fat-finger issues. There's not going to be update issues, right?

- [Rohan] That's exactly true.

- [Robb] That's incredible. Okay, so that makes a... So obviously,

what we're doing is we're growing the simplicity. We're growing intent-based

networking or making it easier to encompass all areas.

So there's no excuse for not having a good policy.

- [Rohan] There is no excuse for not having a good policy.

Intent-based networking is coming of age now. We started off in a

traditional campus. We are moving to IoT. We're expanding the campus.

So I think this is, like, the perfect time for people to jump

into this technology.

- [Robb] This is fun. Well, I'm anxious to see it in the lab.

Is there anything else we need to know for this?

- [Rohan] No, I just want to let people know that this is when you need to get

into this technology.

- [Robb] We need to get into it now, it sounds like? Okay.

- [Rohan] Yes.

- [Robb] Rohan, thank you so much for that. Guys, next we're going to go

into the lab with Lauren and take a closer look at exactly what the network layout is

like and see what it can be doing for you.

- [Lauren] All right, and here we are in the lab.

We're going to first start talking about extending SD-Access into the IoT network.

Satish, thank you for joining us. Just tell me a little bit about what we're

doing here.

- [Satish] Sure. Thank you, Lauren, for having me. So when we started

with SD-Access, we started with SD-Access for a headquarters or a campus sort

of an infrastructure, right? So it was intent-based automation,

policy-based access for a particular campus. We have now taken that into the

IoT space. So what I mean by that is we use a device called as an extended node,

as you can see here. And the type of extended nodes are your

Industrial Ethernet 4000, your 5000, your Catalyst Digital Building,

your Compact switches.

- [Lauren] So actual physical nodes we're connecting to the network.

- [Satish] Absolutely. and then you plug in your cameras and your

APs or any sort of IoT devices. For example, you know,

in Amazon warehouses, right, you have industrial IoT devices as well.

You plug into them, and once you do that, you can take your automation,

you can take your policy, you can take your segmentation,

extend them to the IoT networks.

- [Lauren] That makes so much sense because, you know, we're trying to get

consistent policy on thousands of devices here, literally. So, very cool.

- [Satish] Absolutely. And the other piece is these networks are

being run by people who might not have a networking background.

That's where the UI comes in, where we have a five- or a six-click step.

You click, click, click, boom, and everything comes up.

Ready to see the demo?

- [Lauren] Yeah, let's take a look.

- [Satish] All right, perfect. Let's go to the demo. So as you can see,

I have my border node, I have an edge node,

and my extension nodes actually connect to this. Right now, you don't even see

it here. Now I am going you a four-step process where you click, click, click,

and boom, the extended node shows up. Ready?

- [Lauren] That seems easy enough.

- [Satish] All right, so let's go to your Host Onboarding.

In the Host Onboarding, you have a few virtual networks that we

have created. There's INFRA_VN and there is DEFAULT_VN. INFRA_VN is where your

infra devices, like your extended nodes and access points reside in.

So I click on those INFRA_VN. You see now I have a pool called

as Infra_Devices. I am going to enable this pool. I am going to hit "Update."

I'm going to hit "Apply." That, man, that is all you need. So you see?

Three clicks. One, two, three, click, and now my extended node is coming up.

While that is happening, let me also do a couple of things.

I'm going to my DEFAULT_VN, and I'm going to give you a couple

of pools for IoT_Devices and Outdoor_APs. These IoT_Devices could be, you know,

your cameras, for example. So let's say I pick this pool for cameras.

I click on it. Now, cameras is data traffic, so I hit "Data" traffic.

I can basically choose a group here. And the group could be Cameras.

Now I select another group called as Outdoor_APs, and I again set that

as "Data." The group here, obviously, is Outdoor_APs. And so, as you can see,

we have created a pool for IoT devices for cameras. We have created a pool

for Outdoor APs. We have also given them group-based policies there,

one is Cameras, one is Outdoor APs, so we can set group-based policies

between them. Okay? So that's how you take your intent-based automation,

policy-based access into IoT networks. Now that I have done that,

and I've actually hit "Update"...so let me go back to the Fabric. As you can see,

now we have an extended node. You notice a symbol here, "EX?"

That's your extended nodes. So you can connect your cameras and your

outdoor APs to this extended node. Let me spend a minute to talk about that.

So I again go back to Host Onboarding. And if I scroll down,

you see now I have this switch here. That's my extended node.

So I can actually select this port. Let's say port 0/2 is where my

camera connects. I can select this, right, and I can actually assign this port

to a camera. I could assign this port to an AP. And I, again,

do not have to touch the switch. See how easy it is? Four clicks to bring

it on, a couple of clicks to onboard your cameras, a couple of clicks to onboard

your APs. All the intent-based automation is there. Your policy-based access is now

being taken into IoT networks.

- [Lauren] You could be in another state or another country configuring it,

as long as you knew where it was plugged in.

- [Satish] Absolutely. Now that we have looked at it,

let's now move over to the SD-Access for Distributed Campus.

- [Lauren] Yes, let's do that.

- [Satish] All right. So, as I was explaining earlier, today,

SD-Access is more for in a building, right? When I mean a building,

it's more for a headquarters or a campus. Think of this. With SD-Access

for Distributed Campus, we are taking that

end-to-end segmentation, we are taking that automation and

assurance now into your rest of your campuses, right? Imagine you have

multiple buildings. Take Cisco, for example. We have a building

in San Jose. Maybe we have a building in Milpitas. Maybe we have a building in,

I don't know, maybe 10 miles from here. Maybe Palo Alto.

- [Lauren] Right, maybe several dozen buildings, yes.

- [Satish] Absolutely. And we want to extend our end-to-end

segmentation policy into those campuses as well. That is what is SD-Access

for Distributed Campus. So how do we do that?

So I have my site one, which has its local control plane node,

local border node, and local edge node. Why? Because I want resiliency.

Then I have another site, two, which again has its local border,

local control plane node, and so on. So every site is resilient,

yet these two sites use something called as Transit to talk to each other.

Transit, again, as you can see, those two blue dot tiers have a set

of control plane nodes. So every site is resilient,

but with this new feature that we have, we can actually give you

end-to-end automation, end-to-end policy...

- [Lauren] Yes, consistent policy.

- [Satish] Consistent, absolutely. Consistent policy. We are also resilient

because every site can have more than border, more than one control

plane node, right? So we have resiliency, scale, and automation.

- [Lauren] All right. Let's see what it looks like in the GUI.

- [Satish] Perfect. So this is where I have my Fabric and my Transit.

Remember, we said Transit is used to connect a couple of sites together.

So I have created a Bay Area Fabric, and I've created a Transit.

One is an "Internet." Other one is Transit,

which is called as the West Coast, but it's an SDA-type Transit.

Now, if I go into the Bay Area Fabric, I have a San Jose site,

I have a San Francisco site. Now the San Francisco site is actually

connecting to the Transit West Coast. It's also connecting to "Internet."

This means, now, San Francisco is connecting to the Transit site,

which is an SDA Transit site. It can also reach "Internet."

Now, if I want San Jose to connect to either the Transit site or the

internet site, or "Internet," let's see how easy that is. So, for example,

let's say people in San Jose want to actually browse the internet,

and they also want to talk to the people in San Francisco, right?

So you go to that site, you click the border node, and you say,

"You know what? Connect to West Coast." Done. The moment I hit "Connect" in the

West Coast, you see now that control plane node shows up. Because I had the control

plane node in the West Coast Transit site. Now, obviously, people also want to access

"Internet," so I connect to "Internet." Then I actually hit "Save."

Now, when I go back to the Fabric again, you will see now San Jose connects to the

West Coast, connects to "Internet." So I have direct internet access as well,

I have, again, end-to-end automation, all driven through the UI.

- [Lauren] That's all. And now everything can be controlled

through DNA Center.

- [Satish] Absolutely.

- [Lauren] All right, awesome. Thank you so much, Satish.

I really appreciate you giving those examples. Now with SD-Access

Extended Nodes and Distributed Campus, we're bringing all the magic

of policy-based, intent-driven networking to IoT and to metro networks. Hey, thanks,

Illegal aliens will not be protected under President Trump.

That was once universally understood by all Americans.

But today, liberals want to help people who should not be in the U.S.

Illegal aliens take jobs away from American citizens.

That includes many minorities.

Why would liberals want to deprive African Americans of good-paying work?

They have no answer for that.

Trump's cabinet are following his lead to put Americans first.

That includes Ben Carson, whose agency has a very bad track record.

But all of that is about to change.

Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Dr. Ben Carson told Breitbart News it is his

aim to ensure federal contracting jobs and other economic opportunities go to "our

people" and that his agency will cooperate "very much" with the Department of Justice

to enforce the U.S.'s immigration laws…

"What we want to do, obviously, is empower people – that's a major goal that we have

– our people, American citizens.

Our programs are aimed at that," said the secretary.

"Our tremendous emphasis on [the] Section 3 [program], for example – which has been

on the books for 50 years – [which says] if you are receiving HUD money you have an

obligation to hire people of low income in that area or to train them or to give contracts

to them.

It's been largely ignored."

"We are putting incentives into that to make sure that it is used to develop our people,"

Carson added.

Why is this a big deal?

Well, I'm sure you know how many illegal aliens are hired in construction.

It's practically a running joke.

Illegals line up outside hardware stores, waiting to be hired by the passing pickup

trucks.

Now imagine an entire government agency that helps fund housing.

All that tax money goes to construction projects to help develop communities.

Much of it ends up in the hands of illegal laborers.

Not in Trump's America!

HUD has been getting away with this for years.

Leaders in D.C. look the other way as tax dollars go to illegals, not American workers.

Why should that stand any longer?

Carson has vowed to work closely with the Justice Department to make sure HUD isn't

funding illegal labor.

He also spoke about much-needed policies, like E-verify, to crack down on illegal aliens

working in the U.S.

These are common sense practices that liberals have been dodging for years.

But Carson isn't done yet.

Illegals not only get work, thanks to HUD funds.

They also get low-cost housing through the agency's programs.

Carson has promised to end this, through an inspection and application process.

It will screen out illegal immigrants from receiving benefits meant for Americans.

Oh, be sure that liberals will freak out over this.

But they have no reason to.

Why should Americans be neglected in favor of outsiders?

Shouldn't we look after our own communities first?

Democrats will never understand that.
