Lock and Bridge Giveaway Results | Thank you for 5000 subscribers - Duration: 6:48.

we were gonna film this yesterday but it was quite late in the afternoon and then

I was gonna pretend that it was morning good morning but I said that she never

needs to say good morning cuz some people might be watching in the

afternoon so I think it's polite to say good morning just say hi we have the

backpacks and we are... Going for a grumpy Walk. Are you grumpy?

guess how long we're walking for? four and a half miles. until one of us ends up

in my water and here's my new haircut isn't it lovely

I cut Kath's hair and she cut mine this isn't a long video this is a

possibly the giveaway result yes the give away.We haven't been able to get our crap together.

thank you so much for 5,000 subscribers we are

ready like incredibly grateful so we organized a giveaway Kath had a

brilliant idea about the giveaway which we'll tell you after we tell you the

rules which I had a brilliant idea about I'm gonna say the rules about how you'd

win no known like how we're gonna choose the winner okay yeah so I'll just before

we do the rules I'll just tell you my the prize so the prize is a print. It is a

print from the shop right so any print that you won as long as it's in stock or

oh let us know if it's out of stock because we're ordering some more stock for

Crick no I've done that order now it's done we're not ordering anymore yeah but

if somebody's like oh I want traditional narrowboat with daffodils that's fine

because we're getting that back instead okay um so it's a print from the shop or

you can have an extra special secret surprise prize because we've got

something extra that we're going to be selling at Creek and you can be the

first person to have one but we're not gonna tell you what it is so it will be

a surprise when you open it but it's your choice you can either have the

print or the extra special secret surprise so that's the exciting thing

and then also if you are watching this and you are coming to Creek and you want

to pick up a print we're a little bit it's like not to be conceited we're a

little bit worried that we might run out of the print you want so if you do know

which print you want and you can reserve it so I've set up two different codes

that will work in the shop one of them allows you to pay for your order now and

pick up a Crick that code is 'See you at Crick' see you at Crick so it basically

gives you the option of selecting free postage but you have to manually click

that button okay the second thing the second code allows you to pay a 10%

deposit now and then pay the rest of your order at Crick in case you're

budgeting or you want to add to your order

it actually haha it behooves us to to pay it quick because of the fees

attached to PayPal so we we don't lose out if you pay it quick in fact we kind

of prefer it if you so I know reserved something please let us know and also

we're gonna have the frames at Creek so yeah they're not on the website because

of postage so the their code is either see you at crazy or pay up Crick all one

word there's a blog post about this on narrowboat experience.com and also one

on art by Anna Marie.com just in case and we did a post on Facebook as well to

get those codes that we have been busy okay so we are coming up to I'm gonna

turn you around a lock and the bridge and Lock and a

bridge so we're gonna combine those two numbers and that is going to be the

winner of the either print or the surprise yes okay so let's see who it is

we're gonna combine the number of the bridge were coming up to with the lock

number and make a number and then we're gonna count down comments based on the

order that they were added so the first comment is number one Oh II hope it's

Bridge number one if it's bridge number two then commented number one will win

there's some good 'Kath-splaining' tell us some more about See You At Crick oh here we go

let me turn you around

Oh number 11 don't get excited number 11 we have to

combine you with the bridge- Puttenham Bottom- okay so that is what is it

117 and to the mic 117

so we're just gonna go now and count our way through the comments but we're gonna

do it after we finished our walk yes so we'll come back and we'll tell you the

name of the person and we have just we have four more miles to go so wish us

luck

Be With Me Forever, Stuff! Items I'll Always Keep for Lyndsay's Geeked Out Knick Knacks Contest! - Duration: 3:34.

Hey gang!!

Lyndsay's Geeked Out Knick Knacks is having a contest.

She wants to know an item in our collection we'd never give up.

Well sir, way back in 2000, I had the opportunity to meet Robert Crumb.

My girlfriend at the time, her parents were upper-middle class post-hippies, and they

knew a lot of other people like that, one of which was teaching at the college my girlfriend

attended.

And this professor knew Robert Crumb, and guilted him into doing a talk for her students

when he was in the states, and though my girlfriend wasn't one of her students, she still got

invited and she was allowed to invite one other person, which was me.

Unfortunately, at the time, I was living with my head up my ass.

I was broke, and I had no interest in traveling the twleve hours to hear some talk.

I figured it'd be in an auditorium.

It was not, it was in a conference room that held maybe fifty kids.

Well, she was disapointed I wasn't making the trip, but she asked if I had any questions

to give her about Crumb, cuz she only knew Crumb through the movie Crumb.

Most of what I knew was through the movie Crumb, too.

And my question was about the movie.

In an interview, Terry Zwigoff (the director of the movie) said that most of what you saw

in Crumb was staged.

So, Crumb drew one picture for the movie, and any other time you see him drawing in

a sketchbook, he's just detailing a page that could be twenty years old.

There's a scene in a comic book store that's clearly staged, and I wanted to know more

about it.

Crumb and Don Donahue are goofing on comic book covers on the rack.

It cuts to the guy behind the counter saying, "Robert, I'm a big fan, would you sign

this for me."

And it swishes to Crumb who says, "I don't think so, I don't do autographs".

That actually made it into the trailer for the movie, but I wanted to know if Crumb wanted

that in there to make it known he doesn't want to be pestered for autographs.

So she goes to this talk in this little room.

And she takes these pictures cuz she was going to this school for photography.

He talks, he does a sketch...the room is so small, he hands off the sketchbook and they

pass it around to all the kids.

Why didn't I go?!

And then he takes questions, and she said they were mostly about the movie.

Like, Max, his brother was supposed to be doing great because the movie promoted his

paintings.

Well, my girlfriend asks my question, did you want that scene in the movie so people

won't ask for your autograph.

And he says, "Of course.

I sign autographs all the time, I just don't want to."

And some enterprising dipshit is like, "Would you sign stuff for us?!"

And Crumb's like, "sure."

So, they've been told, DO NOT BRING BOOKS, THERE WILL BE NO SIGNING.

Some of them did bring books, but basically everyone's lining up with nothing to sign,

but there's a little table with Coffee and stuff on it, so someone says, can you sign

these plates?

So I have a paper plate signed by Robert Crumb.

I wish she hadda got photos of him actually signing, but she did include pictures of her

vagina, so that more than made up for it.

So this is the one thing in my collection I'd never give up.

I dunno how collectible it is, though.

And probably, the real answer is this Inspector Gadget toy that I've had since I was a kid,

but I can't find his jacket.

She also wants us to shout out a youtuber.

He's over a hundred subs, but I'll shout out Captain Cola.

He shows some good stuff!

So thank you to Lyndsay's Geeked Out Knick Knacks.

Congratulations on the subs!

I'll have your link in the description and at the end of the video.

Oh, I used to love this show.

Global would play the same few Goddamn episodes over and over for the entirety of the 90s,

but I still watched.

"I'll get you next time Gadget, Next Time!"

CEOwise with Dan Newman - Advice for someone starting an app. - Duration: 5:20.

Through your whole experience, what is the one advice

you would have for someone that's starting an app?

So, actually the piece of advice I would say, it links back to

when I played golf. When I was in South Africa, so just for your audiences

FYI, I originally went to the US because I thought I was gonna be a pro golfer, and when I got

to, you know, when I was playing in South Africa, I thought I was the man, you know.

I was like you know, I just thought okay you know, I've made it.

Going on tour is not gonna be difficult, I'm gonna be in like a top ten

golfer in the world, and then I got to the States and guys who were not even

in like the third or fourth league, like in the seventh league were like

kicking my butt, and this is like in campus, in varsity

and that's when I got a very rude awakening. Okay these guys are A) a hell of a lot

better, they're willing to work a hell of a lot harder and so I've got a

re-imagine what I really want for my life, and B) how hard I'm willing to work.

Often times, and it's linking that back to local and startup entrepreneurs here.

Often times we disguise this allure of being a start-up entrepreneur and

"I run a startup and I'm a build this" you know, when we got the first round of

capital I was actually in tears, because I felt this overwhelming sense of

responsibility that now actually, I mean I've put this nice fancy presentation

together, now people who I really admire and respect have given me money, and it

was a heavy sense of responsibility, now you have to make it work,

because the last thing I would do is waste their money and be embarrassed.

And so what I would say to young entrepreneurs is that actually

running a startup is not just a five-year commitment, it's like a ten or

twelve year commitment if you're gonna do it right.

It is massive amounts of sacrifice. Personal time, family time, friends time, partying time,

everything, and going to the gym if that's something you love,

you're probably not going to be doing it much, and so A) you've got to be really aware of

the sacrifice and commitment that it requires, and then it

requires that large of sacrifice and commitment simply, because in

order for you to be successful that's what it takes. If you want to fail you

can go to gym, and have friends and party right, that's number one. Number two, if you

are ready to make that kind level of investment, then you really have

to actually do it wholeheartedly, and today with Google and with all the resources

that we have available to us there is no excuse, for not knowing who your global competitors are.

There is no excuse for not knowing all the mistakes that they've

made, and reaching out to people and speaking to them. I mean I reach out to

40 to 50 people a day on LinkedIn in various industries, and various

skill sets, because I need to understand what they're doing. I need to understand

whether they great to have to hire for our team, if there's something that they

working on that's gonna disrupt us, if there's something that they're

working on that I need to incorporate into our business. So if you, as a

start-up entrepreneur on LinkedIn you aren't reaching out to, if you want to start up a an

on-demand business, there are thousands of ex-Uber employees right, reach

out to them, go speak to them they will be

dying to talk about their experience right. If you want to start up a retail

business, there are plenty of ex-Woollies, and

Checkers, and Makro employees, who will gladly, you know share some

information. So I would say you really got to be prepared for the sacrifice

that it takes, and it's not a five-year commitment, it's a ten-year commitment.

If you're thinking that you're gonna be the next Instagram, you're dreaming.

Be realistic.

Sure, you have to.

Go for the 99% moonshot, not the 1% moonshot.

So that 99% of people are gonna spend ten years, I'm in it for six

years already, gone by in a flash, right. And then the second thing is, you have to

have a ridiculous work ethic, ridiculous, nobody can teach you

anything about your business when it's six months, if they can you haven't

worked hard enough, and then I think what also happens,

the byproduct of that, is that when you're meeting investors, when you're

meeting other smart people, they actually pick up on that they're like "You know Dan

really knows what he's talking about. He's been..., oh he knows that person..., oh he's done that..." and then suddenly I want to be

associated with Dan, because Dan is an expert, Dan knows he's willing to

work harder than the next person, and then instantly you start drawing in

these people who also have a very similar perspective on life. Right.

And then they want to be a part of your journey because they're like, I know that

this person's a mountaineer.

Yeah exactly, and I think you attract people with the same work ethic.

Yeah, absolutely smart people and successful people don't want to be associated with lazy, stupid people.

That's true.

Right, you didn't get there by being stupid and lazy.

Exactly yeah.

Social Media Presence for House Cleaners - Duration: 8:50.

Social media profiles, do you use your personal social profiles to build your business, or

do you create all new profiles for your business account?

We're going to talk about that today.

Hi there, I'm Angela Brown and this is Ask A House Cleaner.

This is a show where you get to as a house cleaning question,

and I get to help you find an answer.

Now, today's show is brought to us by HouseCleaning360.com,

which is a 360 view of the perfect home.

If you're looking for somebody to help you build your house cleaning business, there's

a whole section on there that's called the business backend.

In the business backend you're going to find people that can help you create a logo, business

designs for your press kit.

They can help you with a website design.

They can help you with Facebook ads.

There's a whole bunch of stuff to help the small business person build their social media

presence, their business, and reputation management on HouseCleaning360.com.

All right.

On to today's show, which is from a girl named Brenda who had this question about social media.

She says, hey, Ang, I'm curious, do I build all social media profiles new for my house

cleaning business, or do I link them to my personal page?

Because people are going to be looking for me, how is the best way to do that?

All right, that is a trick question, and it's going to depend based on who you are.

Now, I hate to give based on and variety answers

because there should be just cut and dried answers.

This is not the case. Here's why.

There are a lot of people that individualistically are not professional, and so when they go

on social media they rant, they get angry, and they cuss, and they have pictures that

are inappropriate for a business situation, and they go on these political tirades.

Okay, so if that's who you are, do not connect that to a social profile your customers will

see, okay?

Keep that personal.

We do not want to tag that into your business account because you're going turnoff a lot

of people, and you're going to lose a lot of business.

When people look at that, and they're like, whoa, that is not what I wanted in my home.

All right.

So the answer is, you do want to create, across the board, you do want to create a business

profile, and that's going to be on LinkedIn, and Facebook, and Twitter, and Snapchat, and

Instagram, and all the different media platforms.

You want your business name.

And so, you will be connecting your personal profile, if your personal profile is a cohesive

message with your brand.

Now, for example, if you are a passer through, a pothole account, or a pothole business.

A pothole business is somebody who starts a business, they run it for a couple of months,

they give it a try, and then they're like, this isn't for me.

Then, they go onto another thing.

You're not grabbing a jackhammer and drilling a great big hole in the ground.

You're not building a tunnel that you're going to be building a huge infrastructure for your

business.

You're just digging a little pothole in the ground.

You're going to try it out for a little bit, and then you're going to move onto the next thing.

If you're a pothole business, where you just try something for a couple of months, and

you skip onto your next thing, don't even build a social media profiles.

It's just a waste of time.

You're not going to be doing anything long enough to actually make a difference.

But, here's the catch.

If you're going to be building an empire, you need to dig as deep a hole as you possibly

can go.

You want to make sure that your social media handles match your URL on your website, and

that matches your company name.

I'm just giving you an example, but let's say that your company name is Happy Home Cleaning.

You want HappyHomeCleaning.com.

You want your handles on social media to be Happy Home.

Facebook/HappyHome.

Instagram/HappyHome.

You want all of these different social media handles to match your URL, and to match your

company name.

You're going to be digging a deep hole, and you want everything to connect.

And so if, like I say, if you're just a pothole business, there's no sense even bothering.

There's no sense going to all the trouble, just use your personal Facebook.

Now, having said that, if you are a person who rants and raves on social media, and you

cause lots of chaos, and you're dramatic, and theatrical, and all these things, that's

fine.

There's nothing wrong with that.

But what you may want to do is create a business page that is just your persona.

So in this moment, you're acting like an actor.

You're creating a character.

The character in acting has a breakdown.

The breakdown will say this is how old the character is.

This is what the character wears.

This is how the character feels about life.

This is their outlook and their philosophy.

You want to create a character for your business.

The reason I say that is this, people will be searching for you, and so, I would have

pictures of you on there that look like how you're going to show up when you come to clean

your house.

So if, and I'm not knocking tattoos, but if you're covered in tattoos, and you have facial

piercings, and you've got this wild look, I would say tidy it up, so that when you have

a business picture, that is going to link back to your business profile, that's going

on LinkedIn, and Facebook, and all the different social medias that you're going to be using

for your business.

What you're going to do is create that character, and create that image, so that when people

find you, they're like, oh yes, this person looks professional.

I can see them as the person coming to my home.

You want to link to that profile, and not the profile of you ranting, and raving, and

being a shenanigan causer, if you will.

You don't want to link to that profile.

All right, so what you want to do then, is you want to create business cards.

Also, on your worksheets that you leave at the customers' houses, what you want to do

is create QR codes.

The QR codes will lead them directly to the websites you want them to see.

If you are having specific social media presences, you want to make sure that that's where your

customers are going.

You want to direct the conversation.

You don't want them to randomly find you on Google, and there's a whole bunch of other

stuff you wish you could erase.

So what you want to do with that, is you want to make sure that there's a cohesive message

out there.

If you are in fact digging tunnel, and you're building something huge, you want to make

sure that the message across the board is cohesive.

And so, by that I mean this, every time you show up for a customer's house, look the part.

Look like the pictures they saw of you on the social media.

Make sure that when you do the job, it matches the words that are on your website and your

webpage, so that they say, oh yes, she was consistent.

She was reliable.

She showed up on time.

She has 100% satisfaction guarantee, and all of the things that you promised.

Honor all of those things.

If you have all of these things, and then a customer calls you for the satisfaction

guarantee, and you don't show up, or you call and give them an attitude, and you act like

this other social media person over here, it's a conflicting message, and it's not very

helpful.

Now, one word to the wise about social media.

It goes both ways.

What your putting out, is what you're controlling.

What you can't control is what comes back in.

When a customer comes back to your social media, they have the power to say, you know

what?

This does not match at all.

The person that showed up didn't look like this.

The person that showed up didn't act like this.

The person that showed up didn't deliver what was promised on these social media outlets.

They have the power to find you on social media, and they can blast you on Twitter,

and Instagram, and Facebook, and Yelp, and Google.

And you spend a chunk of your time then, in what we call reputation management, trying

to reconstruct the image of yourself.

My suggestion is this, reconstruct the image of yourself upfront.

Decide who you want to be.

Decide who you want to look like.

And if that's a personal profile, connect your personal profile to your business profile

because there needs to be at least one personal page where you say this is who I am, or yes,

this is my family, oh yes, these are my pets, so that it makes you a human.

You can't only be business.

I made the mistake the other day of I'm only business.

I spend a lot of my time in business.

The other day I started a 100 day fitness challenge, and somebody fired back immediately,

what does this have to do with house cleaning?

It doesn't.

That's why I put it on my personal page.

So every once in a while, you have to add something that's personal, but once you create

that tunnel, you got to dig it deep, and you got to dig it wide so that you can build that

foundation in there.

Then, people know what you stand for.

They know what your message is, and the message is clear.

All righty.

7 Solutions to Find Relief for Heat Allergies

Heat can cause allergies called urticaria.

This is a negative reaction that affects the skin due to sudden changes in body and climactic temperatures.

This tends to happen from prolonged exposure to the sun and other sources of heat.

This can also occur after high-impact exercise.

You will see a rash, eruptions and redness.

This is almost always accompanied by an uncomfortable sensation of itching and burning.

The rash appears on the cheeks, the neck, under the breasts and in other sensitive areas of the skin.

In some cases, this condition can even cause a fever, nausea and stomach problems that manifest themselves in pain and inflammation.

While some symptoms can be controlled by antihistamines and cortisone, some natural home remedies can help.

Below, we'll share the 7 best remedies to use at the first sign of allergies.
