- Hi, I'm Gillian and if you're anything like me,
sometimes you get a little bored in class.
I've tried bouncing pencils on my nose.
I've tried doodling in my doodle book.
I've even practiced crossing my eyes.
But what do you do when you get bored
of the things you're doing because you're bored.
Never fear.
Here some new hacks you're not bored of yet.
And you can use something you've had
around you at school all the time.
Paperclips!
These are my flip for paperclip hacks.
First things first, you'll need a buddy to have fun with.
So here's my paperclip buddy hack.
For this hack, you'll need a paperclip.
Straighten out your paperclip.
Bend it in a U-shape.
Make a small loop, this will be your head.
Bend the paperclip back straight again,
except for the loop in the middle.
Bend each long piece inward about a quarter of an inch.
This will be your arms.
Bend the two ends down to make your legs.
Twist the legs together twice to make your body.
I'm going to call him Rick.
Hi! Let's make a couple of rides for you.
First step, my mini magnificent catapult launcher.
For this hack, you'll need a pencil and a paperclip.
Unravel your paperclip once.
You'll wind up with a capital P.
Lay your paperclip on the table
and hold the loop down with your finger.
Bend the straight piece upwards.
Twirl the straight piece of the paperclip
around your pencil one time.
This loop will be a seat for Rick.
Make sure that you loop under and not over
so you can make a handle for your finger.
You ready, Rick?
Okay, let's make sure that you're sitting down safely
and we'll put you inside the catapult.
Okay, we're going to blast off.
Three, two, one!
Bye, Rick!
Wait, I better go get him.
Okay. Are you ready for the next one Rick?
Alright. Let's make my rockin' slingshot.
For this hack, you'll need a rubber band and a paperclip.
Straighten out your paperclip.
Bend it in half.
Bend your arms so the whole thing forms a Y-shape.
Crisscross them.
Bend it to make a T-shape.
Bend the tops so it looks like a goal post.
To make the string part of your slingshot,
you have to wrap it around the top part
and then you put it inside itself.
So, you put one like this and then you pull.
And then you have to pull it really tight at the top.
Put this loop on your goal post.
Do this on the other side.
If you have trouble making a loop,
you can just wrap your rubber band around your goal post.
Five, four, three, two, one,
blast off!
Are you okay, Rick?
Thanks, Rick.
