Waching daily Sep 1 2017

Greetings and welcome to an LGR thing! And say, can you tell me what Quake 2

Diablo, Heroes of Might and Magic 2, and Flight Simulator 98 have in common?

Well other than all being awesome examples of awesome games from the late

90s, the answer is: the Hardcore Gamer Resource Kit by Sonoma Multimedia! Which

is somebody I'm not really familiar with but you know this just looks like any

number of things that you might have seen in the 90s that came from Wizard

Works or GT or whoever. This one in particular comes to me from my friend

Jonathan who found this I guess while out thrifting or something, and he just

saw the cover and was just like "that is the most hideous thing I've ever seen

you need to have it." *chuckles* Thank you very much because I would agree. If only because

this very much captures the hardcore gamer aesthetic as I am familiar with it.

That is the face of the hardcore PC gamer personified. You get items for

Quake 2, Diablo, Flight Simulator 98, and Heroes of Might

and Magic 2. What a strange selection, I'm not really sure why they picked those

four. I mean they were popular but it's kind of an eclectic mix if you ask me.

Just all sorts of stuff that was probably downloaded from like, forums and

boards, and you know just whatever. AOL games, I don't know. Anywhere that

you could find these kind of things that presumably a lot of fans made and then

they just packed it onto a CD or two and shipped it out. It's got three CDs in

fact! I also like this section of 3Dfx Mania -- has utilities, accelerators, tweaks,

add-ons, screen savers, and demos, and apparently much much more, mm.

Let's just open this up and see what we find inside!

Quite a beefy box and it's got some tape on it. Oh! Okay well this is this is a

thing. Here's Sonoma Multimedia from Petaluma, California. Hmm wonder what else

they did I have not looked into them at all. Ah there's a special offer here from

them "our best selling games available to you at 14.95!" So yeah you can see some of

these other sort of packs that I was talking about that other companies were

also very infamous for doing. And yeah they just mixed in all these popular-ish

games together including some shovelware packs apparently look at that: "Universe

of 3,000 Games." It has electronic manuals mmm how advanced. And then yeah there's a

whole bunch of legal stuff which is fine. Cool.

Apparently we get this guide here which is the "Hottest PC Games" compiled and

edited by Michael Knight. I'm quite curious to see what that is but first

let's take a look at these. We've got different CDs here. So this one is

just the enhanced 3Dfx files. Yeah we're gonna drop this into a Voodoo

system of some kind to try it out. We have the game patches here -- it's just

just patches! That's awesome. And then we have add-ons, levels, and scenarios for

all the games. Now those aren't quite split up how I thought they would be but

I don't really know what I was expecting. This is quite intriguing I must say. This

is really what was adding a lot of the heft to this box. So it looks like we

have -- what are the hottest PC games of 1998... Quake, Quake 2, Diablo 2, Command & Conquer:

Red Alert, Flight Simulator 98 Age of Empires,

Riven, Hexen, and Ultima Online. I mean you know if these were the games that

you were interested in like, all of these in one, that's not bad because I remember

buying a lot of individual guides. Or at least going to Barnes & Noble and

looking through a lot of individual guides. Rarely bought them unless they

were like, Duke Nukem related or something. So it really is just a few

pages of tips for UO. Some easter eggs, tips for the recently deceased, ghostly

pranks, and get the latest updates by friggin' going online.

Well that's what that is. All right let's go move on over to the Windows 98

machine and boot these up and see if they work!

First up here I'm going to start with this game patches CD which seems like

it's probably gonna be the most boring one, so let's just do it. And you can

start out by selecting other Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 or NT. And the setup

program says it's from somewhere named Walnut Creek. Thought it was Sonoma

Multimedia just a minute ago but alright. And yeah when you started up you get

this WinView program which is really just a browser with a little bit of

extra information. And yeah it's full of exactly what you'd expect: a whole

lot of game patches for DOS and Windows games. I admit that I really didn't think

about patching my games in the 90s except when something really didn't work.

And then you know I would seek it out online or something, but even then

getting them could be a pain because of limited and slow internet access. So I

could see why this had its uses. Also neat that there's a Gravis Ultrasound

game patches mode which adds GUS support to all sorts of things. I'll

probably be using some of these in a later video. There's also an MS-DOS

version of this program which is the same thing, it just lets you access and

look at all the game patches. You could do this in Explorer as well, it really

doesn't matter. Most amusing to me though on this CD is this Walnut Creek CD-ROM

website backup for cdrom.com. Apparently that was what they owned at

the time. Check out this Internet Mega-Pak!

6 CD-ROMs! $70 for all sorts of world-wide-web stuff. Mm utilities. Also listed in here

is this 3Dfx Mania pack for $30 which actually is included in this Hardcore

Gamer Resource Kit. Which effectively means this kit is a shovelware pack of

shovelware packs. Speaking of the 3Dfx stuff let's get to the 3Dfx

disc which is full of all sorts of fascinating things with 3Dfx

capabilities. And I went straight for the screen savers because I was really

curious about these, especially with names like spaghetti,

butterflies, chrome, and a couple of them that say "sorry no info." They don't even

know what it is they just put it on the CD! Once I got them extracted though

they're just executables and it says that they will be converted to a real

screensaver soon. So yeah these are pretty much just demos

for 3Dfx mode/OpenGL stuff, not actually screen savers. And I don't even know if

it's even that because this one wouldn't even run at all. Spaghetti just was

spaghetti code apparently, and just shut down my computer. I had to do a hard reset.

Next one I tried up was flutterbys with the possessive apostrophe there, hmm.

Anyway this one started up with a 3Dfx logo, that's promising. But then *laughs* It just

ran way too fast! So whatever it was using to simulate

this swarm of butterflies and fog, it was just not timed correctly with this

system. And this Impact screensaver which was supposed to be a Starfox-style game...

It didn't do anything correct at all, though I could see the Starfox type of

ship thing sort of through the corruption there. I'm guessing that these

screen savers are made for Voodoo 1s, Voodoo Rushes, and things like that.

Not exactly a 2 or 3. I have a 3 in this system, which there's a lot of

incompatibilities with certain things like this from like 96, 97, so oh well.

Went on to check out the games section though and there's a whole lot of freeware

and shareware demo kind of games for 3Dfx stuff in here. Again I'm not

entirely sure what's going to work and what won't so I just booted up some of

them starting with Banzai Bug. And it didn't actually detect 3D acceleration

so again I'm guessing is made for like a Voodoo 1 that's just not seeing it. But

anyway here we go. "There's gotta be some crumbs around here somewhere! Look, we're

in this together, ace. You and me!" Yeah this is pretty much like a six degrees

of freedom shooter. But you're a bug mosquito kind of thing just going around

shooting blobs with other blobs and it's not great. But um you know it's kind of

appealing in that weird flat-shaded kind of 3D way. Many of the other demos didn't

work at all, here's one though that I could get to work.

Excalibur 2555 AD, the demo for that. It said it was going to run in 3Dfx mode

but it's very much not, it's running so badly and so slowly and no 3Dfx

logo at the beginning. So yeah again I'm guessing this is made for like a Voodoo 1

so I'm just gonna skip out on the rest of this for now and move on to the

next disc. The final disc, the add-ons and levels for Quake and all the other things.

Although curiously it started up and it just called this the Q2 Tool CD-ROM and

all it showed was stuff for Quake 2. No mention of Flight Sim, Diablo, Heroes of

Might and Magic 2 that it was supposed to have. Just none of that's here. Kind of

makes me think that the other stuff was an afterthought. Anyway let's look at the

Quake stuff because: Quake stuff. And check this out remember Plus! Themes for

Windows 9x? I had to try this Quake one out and wow does this bring back memories of

themed themes.

Silly fonts and weird colors and animated cursors and sound effects everywhere.

Somehow this seems like a more authentic

Windows 98 experience than even just the basic

Windows themes. Also decided to try out these demos and movies, in fact this one

here, BOMBER.ZIP, "the historic first ever Quake 2 motion picture." Yeah this is

machinima before machinima was a thing. At least in theory because when I try to

install it and run it it wouldn't do it. I can play Quake 2 perfectly fine but

any time I tried to run one of these demos it said it was trying to look for

the CD. I edited a bunch of files, I tried some patches, I tried other mods and

downloads, and things that it came with. Not a single one of them would boot up

with my version of Quake 2. I don't know what's going on maybe it's a hardware

issue, so I just got really annoyed after like an hour and moved on to the next

game. Which in this case is Heroes of Might and Magic 2. It includes some

utilities, some levels for different Magic games, and some episode sets. I was

just gonna try this save game editor for HOMM2 here and give myself a crap load

of gold. Booted up my "need money" save game here

and as you can see in the bottom right: I have a crap load of gold and was able to

recruit a whole bunch of units and gave myself a very unfair advantage at the

beginning of this game. And yay, victory by cheating!

I feel successful without any moral qualms whatsoever. Okay let's check out

the Flight Simulator folder here which has audio, flight sim 5, and flight sim 6,

and no mention of Flight Sim 98. In fact, all of these files? Most of them are just

like, skins and basic scenery packs, and a couple utilities for flight sim five

and six. 98 is version 6.1 and I don't know man, I tried to get this stuff to

work in 98. None of it would. None of it showed up at all.

I had the scenery go through and look for stuff, I followed the instructions

for the mods, none of them worked. It never actually found anything so I don't

know why they mentioned Flight 98 being compatible with this because it

doesn't seem to be. There wasn't much here anyway so I don't really care.

Diablo though, well there was quite a bit in here. I've never actually modded

Diablo before but there's a whole lot of files man. I don't know what exactly all

of these do. Bunch of items, it looks like some trainers for very specific versions

of Diablo which is different than the one I had so I couldn't try it. But I did

end up trying out these save games because I don't know, I was curious what

kind of characters it gave me. And check out these names: Bane Longshot, Mr. Dabbelhand,

Bambi Fastab, Sizzle Finger! Man, these

are wonderful names. I had to go with Mr. Dabbelhand though, and it turns out

Mr. Dabbelhand is pretty dapper.

And dabbles in all sorts of magic and cool things that made him really effective.

*laughs* I don't know I just liked his name. And it's

Diablo so I ended up playing this for like an hour. Even though I just needed

like a minute of footage. Well that's Diablo and that is the Hardcore Gamer

Resource Kit! Not really worth seeking out to be honest. It's kind of a stupid

pack but at the same time it's cool, I'm glad it exists. It's neat going through

and seeing what these sort of compilation/shovelware stuff of

downloaded goodies they made available back then. And if nothing else it has

some absolutely stupid ugly hideous artwork that is amazing! And awful at the

same time. But that's it for this video. I hope you enjoyed this rambling look back

at this weird piece of software. Thanks again to Jonathan for picking this up.

This was fun. And if you had fun with his video then

awesome! Might enjoy some of my others. There's new ones every Monday and Friday

here on LGR. And as always thank you very much for watching.

Sweater Guide: What to look for when you buy one, how to wear it + Sweater do's and don'ts - Duration: 15:35.

Welcome back to the Gentleman's Gazette! Today's video is all about sweaters. We discuss the

history from the Aran Islands and Guernsey, all the way to the different styles, v neck

and crew neck, the materials, the fit, the quality construction, and everything else

you should know about this wonderful wardrobe staple.

Sweaters are also known as jumpers in Great Britain and they are a casual wardrobe staple

that is wonderful during the colder seasons of the year. They can be made of many materials

such as cashmere, wool, cotton, alpaca, or blends thereof. Overall, you want something

that does not pill, that lasts you for quite a while that is soft on the skin, that keeps

you warm, without making you sweat unnecessarily. You want it to fit properly in the shoulders,

in terms of shoulder width, you want the sleeve lengths to be exactly the length you want,

and it should not be too baggy around your midsection or too tight around your bum. Personally,

I"m a big fan of classic style sweaters that means, I'm not really fond of zippers. I'd

rather go with toggles or buttons. At the same time, I want v-necks and crew necks and

shawl collars and we will discuss all of these styles and when to wear them in today's video.

Sweaters are not a formal garment. They are wonderful if you are at home, or in a casual

environment where you want to be comfortable and when range of movement is essential. Sweaters

are a lot better than any kind of tailored garment when it comes to range of movement

and comfort.

So how did sweaters come to exist? if you go back in history and look at the 15th century,

you can see that fishermen from the island of Guernsey wore these kinds of garments for

the first time. They were made of a tightly spun knit wool because that's what they had

available and it had to last and keep the fishermen warm and protected even in the roughest

of seas. Eventually, fishermen from outside of Guernsey picked it up and they called them

gansey. Once the gansey had been adopted by the Royal British navy in the 19th century,

later on, there was also the fair isle sweater, again, named after geographical location and

it became really popular in 1921 when the Prince of Wales famously wore it and had a

portrait painted of himself. Later on, the young playwright Noel Coward, for example,

popularized that turtleneck sweater style and especially these days, turtlenecks are

rather popular again when worn with jackets or even suits. Between the 1920s and 70s,

a lot of film and rock stars wore sweaters. Errol Flynn, Cary Grant, Michael Caine, Steve

McQueen, or many many others helped keep sweaters and different styles in fashion. If you want

to learn more about the history of sweaters and more intricate details, please check out

the in-depth guide on the website, here.

When it comes to sweater styles, here are the basics that you need to know.

First up is the crew neck style which is the original fisherman style. It means, it sits

very close to your neck and protects you from the elements and it's round. While this is

a very functional style, I personally prefer the v neck style which I'm wearing here right

now.The advantage of the v neck is that it is made to be worn with a collared shirt,

in this case, a button down shirt, and blends itself very much to be worn with a necktie.

Because of the deep cutout, you can really see the tie versus with a crew neck, you would

hardly see the tie at all. aybe if the crew neck is cut out a little bigger, you can get

off with a bow tie and that looks quite nice but if you want to wear a necktie or a collared

dress shirt, I think the v neck should be your choice of sweater. If you don't care

about neckwear but you want to stay warm all day long, consider a turtle neck. They can

come up with just one layer which is not as advantageous because usually, it gets flimsy,

I prefer the ones that are folded down all the way because they give your neck a nice

roll. You can have problems if you have strong beard growth because the hair may poke the

sweater and create a pilling. That being said, the turtleneck also known as mock neck, polo

neck, or roll neck, can be an elegant option that makes your outfit softer, especially

if it's something like a suit or a nice jacket. I sometimes see people wearing it with formal

evening wear, however, that is wrong. And if you want to learn more about the proper

way to do it, check out our black tie guide or our white tie guide here.

Another style that is less popular but I personally like a lot is the shawl collar style. It's

called that way because it's round and while it's not quite the shawl collar of a jacket,

it just provides a different look. A shawl collar sweater is actually a descendant from

sweaters that GI's got in America. While it is great to have a heavy sweater on a cold

day outside, it can be a curse once you get inside, you are just overheating. If you go

from the outside to the inside a lot with lots of changes in temperature, a cardigan

is your best friend because it can keep you warm when you are outside and you can unbutton

it or take it off easily when you're on the inside. In recent years, the half zip sweater

hs become popular which usually features a sweater on top around your neck. Personally,

I find that it looks rather odd and I'd rather prefer toggles or buttons or a shawl collar.

Another style is the so called tennis sweater which is a white sweater with a very deep

v neck cut and it usually has colored elements around the collar area and if you want to

learn more about this interesting sweater, please check out our club, cricket, or tennis

sweater guide, here.

A not so well known sweater is the command or wooly pully which is a very tight fitting

crew neck sweater with epaulets. It evokes some military resemblance and personally,

I'm not a huge fan of it but if you are, go for it. The reinforced elbow patches and shoulder

epaulets certainly make for a unique look.

The comfort level of a sweater depends hugely on the material used for its yarn. One of

the most popular materials and one of the most expensive ones is cashmere because it's

soft. As you know, the cashmere fiber comes with cashmere goat, it is very fine with a

diameter of usually around 14-6 and a half microns. The longer the cashmere fibers are,

the better the yarn is going to be. And the longest ones are about 36mm or about 1 and

a half inches long. You can learn more about cashmere and the different qualities in our

cashmere guide on our website here. When it comes to cashmere sweaters, you may sometimes

see the name 2 ply, 3 ply, 4 ply, or even more plys. Basically, the number of plys tells

you how many yarns are twisted together into one yarn. The advantage of doing that is the

higher the number, the thicker the yarn usually is, and the more resistant it is because it

has simply more strands and more fiber. So an 8 ply or 9 ply seater will generally be

much heavier than a 2 ply sweater.

A very underrated material for sweaters is alpaca. It comes from a Peruvian mountain

animals and is extremely soft, almost as soft as cashmere, at the same time, it is more

insulating because the fiber is hollow with an air chamber that just protects you better

from outside elements especially winter. Another advantage is that it's elastic, it does not

have any lanolin such as wool which makes it perfect if you have allergies against lanolin.

The most traditional sweater material is definitely wool. As I mentioned before, the first fishermen

used wool to make their sweaters. And at the time, it was rather coarse and rough wool

that felt scratchy and anything but soft on their skin. Today, sheep breeders have made

great advances and the wool diameter is sometimes as low as 15 microns which brings it in a

cashmere range. That being said, I still sometimes like sweaters that is made out of that slightly

rougher wool because they are usually more hard wearing. For sweaters, you sometimes

see merino wool which usually implies it's a lower diameter and it is a specific kind,

unfortunately, it is not really a protected term and people use it arbitrarily. If you

can get your hands on a fine merino wool sweater, you can get a very thin layer that is more

insultaing that let's say cotton but at the same time, perfectly suited for layering during

the colder days of the year. That being said, cotton and linen sweaters are still rather

popular during the transitional seasons because they add exactly the warmth you need without

making you sweat. Of course, both of these fibers wrinkle a little more and sometimes

you will find very open knits for even summer versions in warmer climates.

Probably the majority of sweaters today is made by certain kinds of blends so wool, or

cotton is either blended with nylon or polyester or sometimes they are all made out of nylon

which is less expensive and soft but at the same time, they are more prone to pilling

and you are also more likely to sweat in them. The bid advantage is that they are less expensive

so that sweater is the number one produced sweater today at the same time, we believe

that a quality sweater will last you for a lifetime and the cost per wear will be low

and it has a low impact on the environment because you are not wasting materials and

resources. Now that you know all about materials, let us discuss the fit.

First of all, you want the bottom of the sweater to cover the hem at least by a little bit.

If you have high waisted trousers, you can have a shorter hem, but you can also have

a longer hem. So I suggest you buy sweaters in the length, so your shortest rise trouser

is covered.

The next element to look at is your shoulder seam. Sometimes, sweaters are way too big

or way too small but the end of the seam should always sit on your shoulder bone. In terms

of sleeve length, you ideally want the sweater to end at the base of your hand. Some people

like to show a little bit of cuff, others prefer to show none at all. It's simply a

personal choice. In the 90s, sweaters were popular that were rather baggy with lot of

excess material around your waist. Personally, I don't think it's a very flattering look

because sweaters have these elements that keep them tight to your body especially at

the waist and you have a lot of flobbering material on top of it, it makes you look like

a potato sack. Therefore, go for something that is not overly tight and constricting

but lays close to your body.

Just like with the regular suit or jacket, you want your armholes of your sweaters to

be rather small and tight because the knit allows you to be still flexible and when you

lift your arm, your entire sweater won't come up. If you have large armholes and you move

up your sweater, everything is pulled up and it looks unfavorable..That being said, most

people start with plain sweaters which are just fine, however, if you want a thicker

sweater, sometimes they get those braided elements which is very typical for an Aran

sweater. On the other hand, a fair isle sweater has very particular patterns and lots of colors

that ties them altogether and it makes it very easy to combine with all kinds of jackets

such as tweed jackets or flannel jackets, or any other kind of garment you would wear

during the winter. If a full sweater is too much for you, I suggest you go with a sweater

vest which is basically a seater without any sleeves. I personally love that to wear with

jackets because it does not add any bulk to my sleeves but it keeps me warm on my body.

I suggest you go only with v-necks because then you can wear a nice tie with it which

rounds out the outfit and is a great vest or waistcoat alternative.

Last but not the least, let's discuss a few do's and don'ts of men's sweaters.

Do store sweaters neatly folded rather than hanging because if you hang them especially

on thin hangers, they will stretch over time because the weight will pull them down and

when you wear it, you will have excess material on your shoulder area that looks quite bad.

Do minimize the number of dry cleanings and washings of your sweater simply because the

more often you wash it, the more prematurely it will age and wear out. I suggest you go

with undergarments such as a dress shirt, maybe a t-shirt if you want crewnecks or an

undershirt but always make sure to have a layer between your sweater and your body and

your sweater will last a lot longer.

Do wash your sweaters according to instruction label and make sure you take a look at it

before you buy it. Some sweaters, even if they're regular merino wool sweaters, are

marked as dry clean only which means you have to dry clean every time which can be rather

costly and if you have a modern washing machine, there's usually a soft cycle for wool and

for cashmere so you can wash them in your washing machine. Of course, that is at your

own risk but I suggest to go with things that you can wash on your own at home, it will

be better because you can use the right detergent, you can be gentler, and it will save you money

in the long run.

Don't automatically reject an itchy sweater. Sometimes, especially old wool sweaters can

be a little more itchy but if you wear them with an extra layer, you will likely not feel

the itch, and at the same time, it's very hard wearing. It will protect you well, and

it will be a great companion for years to come.

In my opinion, don't wear zip sweaters unless you are in a very casual environment and you

really like them. Go with toggles or buttons, they always look superior.

Don't pull or clip loose threads on your sweater because that may lead to it coming undone

completely. If you find that you have a pull in your sweater, try to pull it in all directions

so the fiber can go back in then wash it and steam it, and if it's a natural material,

it should go back in shape.

Don't wear a visible t-shirt underneath your sweater because it looks rather cheap. Instead,

try to go with an undershirt that has a deep enough cut that won't show your crewneck or

anything underneath your sweater. Or go with a dress shirt, it's a little more dressier,

but in my opinion, it's a better look.

Don't wear sweaters with French of double cuffs because they are simply not made for

that. Always go with a barrel cuff with buttons that is round just like the sweater. Having

cuff links with a sweater will always mean they are either covered or you see too much

of the cuff, and it looks sloppy.

Last but not the least, don't toss a pilling sweater. if you have natural materials, even

artificial materials, eventually with friction, you will see pilling. With the lower end sweater,

you will see pilling much more quickly and frequently and in recent years, there has

been a tendency for sweaters that are softer which oftentimes mean it's a shorter fiber

but it also means you get pilling much more quickly. For example, I have a red Ralph Lauren

sweater that's really old and in cotton and it's a great quality and it hasn't pilled

until now. I had newer sweaters from Ralph Lauren as well that had much more pilling

after just a few times of wear and I had to eventually toss them. In the meantime, I used

a pilling cutter but I think it should be a last resort because by doing that you are

shortening the fibers and you are just accelerating pilling growth.

So to avoid pilling. Ideally, you invest in a quality sweater with long fibers so it will

take a long time to pill and even then, it will just be a little bit in areas where there

has lots of friction such as underneath your arms.

In today's video, I'm wearing a vintage Polo Ralph Lauren sweater that is kind of tennis

sweater inspired because it has the v-neck, it has the colors, but it's a dark green which

I think is a wonderful color for fall and winter. I love the dark green color because

it matches well with sand tones, with all kinds of brown tones, with blues, but it's

not blue but nevertheless, it's a dark color. It has grey, yellow accents around the collar

and has a nice deep v-neck which looks particularly good when worn with a neck tie. As you can

see, you can also wear it without a necktie. My shirt is a made to measure shirt, with

mother of pearl buttons and a button down collar, it's soft and it has a red blue check.

My trousers are sand colored chinos from Polo Ralph Lauren,. I had them hemmed with a very

tall turnup cuff because that's what I like. I'm wearing them with a pair of dark burgundy

oxblood cordovan boots from Allen Edmonds and to spice up the look, I added some white

or off white boot laces from Fort Belvedere which can just help to change the entire look

of your boots. In order to tie it together, I'm wearing a pair of burgundy and off white

shadow stripe pair of socks but because they are boots that go above the ankle, you would

probably hardly ever see them.

Watch Man Utd star Romelu Lukaku's hat-trick for Belgium that has fans buzzing

The 23-year-old – who joined the Red devils for £75m in July – has already scored three goals in as many games this season. And he continued his fine form for the national team as they took on minnows Gibraltar last night.

Lukaku showed his awareness and movement in the box by heading in a cross from close-range to open his account on the 20th minute.

He followed it up moments later in similar fashion – running onto a cross and showing his quick feet to slot the ball past the keeper.

To complete the hat-trick, the Belgian ace remained composed to stroke a penalty into the bottom left.

Understandably, United fans were overjoyed at the stellar performance from their star striker in the match which eventually ended 9-0 to Belgium. "Cant wait to see him in a United shirt again," one commented.

Another wrote: "Look how good he is when we have a player who can cross.

Incredibly though, not everyone was as impressed, with a third fan adding: "Lukaku has been the worst of the Belgium squad. Looked out of place in a fluid Belgium side and his game is lacking.

"One offside goal, one weak pen and a tap in.

Liverpool transfer news: 'I hope the best' for Virgil van Dijk before deadline - Duration: 3:07.

Liverpool transfer news: 'I hope the best' for Virgil van Dijk before deadline

Van Dijk has been subject of interest from Liverpool throughout the summer transfer window. Southampton do not want to sell the defender, despite him handing in a transfer request earlier this month.

Fellow Dutchman Zeegelaar, who completed a four-year deal with Watford from Sporting Lisbon today, says he did not speak to Van Dijk before signing for the Hornets.

But he is waiting to see if anything happens with his countryman before the 11pm deadline. "I never spoke to him (before I came here)," Zeegelaar said on Sky Sports of the target.

"He's a lot in the news, let's see what happens. "We've got how long, four hours? It's getting tight, but let's see what happens.

"I hope the best for him. If Van Dijk was to stay at , Zeegelaar could make his Watford debut against him on Saturday September 9 (3pm).

However, he is not certain that will be the case. "Yeah who knows?" Zeegelaar said when asked about playing against Van Dijk.

"If he stays! We will see. Van Dijk has not played for Southampton since January due to a serious ankle injury.

TFT Tapping Treatment for Trauma and Anxiety Relief - Duration: 11:37.

Hi, Julie Cowley here - a TFT Advanced Practitioner and Trainer,

and I am here today to share with you a tapping exercise specifically for trauma relief.

This video is inspired by the recent happenings in Texas in the Houston area

from Hurricane Harvey and the many people who have been traumatized by this

natural disaster.

For those who have been directly affected by this, I hope this provides you with some emotional

relief and some relief from the stress and trauma and overwhelm that you might be feeling.

If you are watching this video, and you are not directly affected by this particular incident,

then please still do go through this tapping sequence that I'm going to guide you through.

You can focus in on any kind of trauma that has happened in your life that you want to experience some relief from.

So we'll go ahead and get started.

I just want you to bring into your awareness this particular event that is going on that you are feeling distressed about.

If you are in the Houston area or you have been evacuated from there

then I'm sure it is already top of mind so you don't have to think about this.

It is already right there in your experience.

And just feel into what's going on in your body.

Notice what emotions are going on -

fear, grief, overwhelm,

worry,

concern, fear about the future.

Then just give yourself a rating on a scale of 0 to 10 with 10 being the most

distressed you could feel

and zero being none at all or neutral.

If you have a piece of paper, you can write that down on it, so you can refer to it later.

And let's go ahead and start tapping. Keeping your awareness on the event that's going on, this trauma,

and just observing your emotions - the fear, the stress around it, the overwhelm,

any despair.

You're going to tap side of hand continually.

Next you're going to tap under your nose,

under your nose.

Focusing on releasing any and all of the stress around this situation

Next you're gonna tap the center of your chin.

I am releasing all stress, all overwhelm, all pain, all fear.

And next you're going to tap your middle finger point.

Allowing yourself to feel the different sensations and emotions that are going on around this event.

Allowing them to come up and acknowledging them. Next you're going to tap the outside corners of your eyes.

Releasing all of the fears that are coming up, all of the stress, all of the anxiety, all of the worries,

and then you're going to tap the beginning of your eyebrows

Focusing in, bringing this event into your awareness.

Releasing all stress around this trauma,

all worries, all fear, all grief.

Allowing yourself to feel this - not needing to push it away.

Next you're going to tap under your arm, about four inches below your armpit.

Releasing any and all tension you are holding in your body.

Releasing any fear in your cells.

Allowing your body to resolve this at the energetic level

through this tapping.

Releasing all sadness.

Next you're gonna tap the collarbone points. You find that by going to the center of your throat,

dropping down to this u-shaped nodule in your collarbone, and then dropping down an inch and to either side about an inch.

Tapping there.

Releasing this trauma and all of the stress around it.

Releasing any anger, any fear.

Good, and then next you are going to tap your pinky finger point - up by the base of your nail.

Releasing any anger, any fear,

any tension you are holding in your body. You are doing great.

Then you're going to tap the collarbone points again.

Letting go.

Releasing fears of the future and what's going to happen.

Next, you are going to tap the index finger point.

Releasing all sadness, all distress around this trauma.

Letting go. Then tapping your collarbone point again - releasing, letting go,

trusting...

trusting in the well-being

of the Universe, trusting

All will be well.

Next, you are going to do what's called the 9 gamut series

and this includes 9 exercises that you are going to be doing

that are designed to balance the different hemispheres of your brain.

So while you are going to be tapping this spot on the back of your hand,

and I'll guide you through this - while you tap this spot on the back of your hand

you are going to be doing some eye movements - looking in different directions and

humming and counting - and this is activating different areas of your brain

The humming is to activate the right side of your brain -

the more musical or intuitive side - and the counting is to activate the left side of the brain - or the more

logical analytical side

So we'll go ahead and get started.

You are going to be tapping this spot here on the back your hand.

It's on the base of your ring finger knuckle and your pinky finger knuckle, down in that valley behind them.

Just continually tapping there.

Focus in on this stressful event.

Close your eyes.

Open them and look down to the left.

Look down to the right - still tapping that spot.

Circle your eyes around in one direction, and then circle your eyes around in the other direction, and hum a few notes - Mm-hmm -

Count out loud to 5 - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Then hum again - mm-hmmm.

And notice what is going on within you - anything that is shifting.

Maybe new aspects of the trauma are rising to your awareness as you are clearing the other ones.

And just notice what is going on in your body.

And you are going to tap side of hand. We are going to repeat what we did

before this 9 Gamut series.

Tapping side of hand. Releasing any and all stress around this traumatic event. Tap under your nose.

Good. Releasing all fear. Chin.

Knowing how worthy of love yo u are in this moment and in every moment. Releasing all fears of the future,

about what might happen.

All feelings of grief and loss. Outside of the eye.

Releasing all of the stress around this event.

Noticing what is going on in your body.

If it is feeling more relaxed.

Releasing any and all tension that's left. Tapping your eyebrows.

Tapping under your eyes.

Letting go.

Releasing all fear, all doubt, all worry, all overwhelm. You can tap under your arms now.

You can tap them both if you'd like.

Releasing all of the stress around this,

knowing that it is going to work out.

All will be well.

Tapping your collarbone points again.

Letting go of the stress around this trauma, any fears. Tapping your tiny finger.

Releasing any anger.

Tuning into your body, letting go of any other stress you may be holding onto,

the trauma around this experience that is being held in your body anywhere - letting that go.

Letting your body heal.

Letting your body thrive. Index finger.

Good, and then we will finish up with the collarbone point again.

Allowing yourself to feel more relaxed and at ease and at peace.

Very good.

Okay, just notice how you are feeling now.

What has shifted?

Go ahead and give yourself another rating on that scale of zero to ten.

Again with ten being the most distress you could feel and zero being

neutral and no stress.

If you have that paper, you can write down your number and just see how far you have dropped.

Now for some of you this may have cleared up all stress you are feeling around this trauma,

while for others of you, you may have experienced some relief

but there are different aspects that may be arising in your awareness that you would benefit from more tapping on.

So if you do still have some stress, which is likely if this is an ongoing

experience like what is going on in

Texas and Houston area,

then continue to use this tapping sequence for the different layers and different aspects that go on, to help you

with your peace of mind and to continue moving forward

in greater peace and ease

and well-being.

I truly hope this benefited you in some wonderful, magnificent ways.

Please, please leave me a comment if you have anything to share with me below about your experience or you have any questions.

I am here to help.

Thank you for watching and I wish you optimal well-being.

Take care. I'll see you soon.

Support and Mentoring Make The Mohr Group The Best Team For Agents - Duration: 3:06.

Welcome back!

You know our real estate expert, Monte Mohr, has decades of experience in the business.

Today we're talking to 2 agents that work with him.

Jenny Telwar and Jim Payne are joining me.

One of the things that Monte talks about a lot is that it is important, when you're a

realtor, working with the right company.

How has that been for you guys, to be a part of Monte's group?

The word I can use to describe Monte's group is empowering.

Truly it's because I've been with other brokerages and they all do the basics in training and

resources and how to do the deal correctly, but I think what's most important is Monte

invests in our personal growth.

He makes us better people, which makes us better agents, which makes us better to the

community!

It's all about that.

He's so focused on, his philosophy and ideology is so much on our growth as individuals.

It's unique to the real estate industry.

It really is unique!

It's an industry that so many people have said, oh I want to dive in to but it's not

for the faint of heart.

When you have that support system, how does that help you?

It's incredible!

Based on Monte's decades of experience, we get to benefit from that.

I'm a relatively new agent.

I've been doing this for a couple of years and I can't imagine being out there on my

own.

He has created a unique team atmosphere and we really care about each other and each other's

success.

It's been just great!

Of course the market is crazy and we're working really hard, but we have fun at the same time.

I imagine that's got to be intimidating for someone who's coming into the business thinking

well the market's great but you do need that support system.

One hundred percent!

You have to have mentoring to do it right.

Everybody thinks they're going to get into real estate and it's going to be really easy

to get rich quick or to do it all correctly right out of the gate.

School only teaches you so much; you need a good mentor and that's what Monte's office

does.

He really mentors and leads.

I always get so surprised by that, because it seems like one industry where you do need

to know all of the ins and outs.

Right.

For any realtor who might be out there, new to the business or thinking of tapping in,

they might wonder... which way do I go?

What kind of advice do you have for them?

I would say do your research with your brokerages, but go somewhere where they're really going

to support and mentor you.

That's what our office does.

If an agent is out there looking for someplace that they're really going to mentored, and

like I said, I was with other brokerages and I wasn't mentored.

If you want to come to a place where you're going to be mentored and you're going to learn

how to do it right and you're going to have the right leader leading you, our office is

it.

It's unique!

It's empowering and unique.

We're very big on education and supporting each other.

We're getting ready to open a new office in the Cool Springs area.

We're very excited about that and we're growing our team, so it's really good!

That's great!

We've got room; come join us!

There's always room at the top at The Mohr Group and we like that because it's a great

way to think of it - there's always room at the top and you guys bring them there.

Thank you.

You can give The Mohr Group & Associates a call at (615) 636-8244.

You can also find them online at TennesseeDreamHomes.com.

You can email Monte Mohr at MonteMohr@Yahoo.com.

Thank you so much!

For First-Years with a Scientific Orientation, Bowdoin Offers Crash Course - Duration: 2:27.

BSE started probably around 10 years ago to increase students who are

classically under-represented in the sciences to kind of give them a pathway

into science, into the sciences, and hopefully have them stick with science

basically while they're at Bowdoin. And so we target students who are first -generation college students,

students of color, females who have indicated interest in the physical sciences,

and then students from rural Maine.

Definitely as a student of color, it's very hard to go into a science major

because you don't really see a lot of people doing that, or like a stem major

in general. And to have this whole group of people all doing it together and

supporting you — that was just phenomenal.

I think it's been shown that if you can

build a cohort and keep it going, people are less likely to kind of fall by the wayside.

I decided to do the BSE trip to kind of get like a little step up in the whole

science game and to be a little more familiar with the campus and everyone else.

And I wanted to do BSE because I'm interested in a mathematics field and I

heard the best way to get to know people and people that are gonna be in your

field and different professors is BSE. And I also heard that was a lot of fun.

Oh my god. I can't even.

I'm so excited. Volcano...dress....

You said you were excited but your voice isn't going up!

Excuse me. OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD!

And I choose BSE because as I said I wanted to major in

well, there's no genetics major about biology and go toward more of a genetics path.

I plan to major in bioengineering, or I'm still looking into biochemistry.

I want to do biology on a pre-med track, so I want to go to like medical school.

and then become a doctor.

So currently, I'm thinking about majoring in neuroscience and sociology.

And then hopefully going off to med school and pursuing a career in public health.

I think it's just to make sure that everyone sees a stem major as

something that's — it's not impossible especially for students of color. I mean

school is stressful but like everyone in this group in this orientation group,

even people just on campus, are gonna help relieve that stress and make sure

that you get to be what you want to be.
