Morning Conversations with Jim Self and Roxane Burnett - Food for the Cells - Duration: 16:07.

Hello, good morning again.Well we're back again this week with Dr. Everett Byers

who's a functional medicine practitioner with lots of experience in anti-aging,

reversing aging and really beginning to look at how do you change some of the

degenerative diseases that we're all faced with. Last week we talked about

metabolic detoxes and how you basically really begin to clean out the body and

set the body up for an opportunity to just really reheal itself. There's so

much great information out there today Everett, there's so many really incredibly

brilliant scientists that are doing things, understanding how the body works.

But one of these areas that I'm really fascinated with is the energy of the

body. How does the body make energy, where does the energy come from, what's the

kind of fuel you put into the body to really begin to create optimum health?

And I'm assuming it's not coca-cola and Twinkie Donuts. Exactly right.

So true. Energy production within the body is everything because that's

anti-aging that prevents us from having disease. That heals the tissues, keeps

us functioning at an optimal level and it's it's most important for that energy

production to happen. And it's more than just that the food that we eat but it's

also the somewhat the energy that's within the food. And not all food is created

equal and not all protein, carbohydrates are the same. So it's very important

because as I mentioned that I believe that at the end of the last episode that

food is information. Yeah. And and that information is going to what signals the

genes to do what they need to do to produce the energy that we need to have

for our system in our body. So having the right foods to get the right results is

quite important in functioning at the optimum level within our cells and

tissues. Energy comes in certainly the form of food and sunshine etc and

ground and things like that. For the nutritional

standpoint this energy is taken into our system that the food digested,

absorbed and then is taken out to the cells through the liver etc. to be

processed and utilized. And how much, and this, this is so interesting. We thought

it was actually the genes that control the cell in the functioning but

what they're finding out now, this is so incredible, is that's actually the cell

membrane that regulates what goes into the cell and comes out. And we want this

the cell membrane to be very healthy and happy and one thing that they need is

the the right oils for that. Very important for the brain cells. Oil. Yes

having the right oils. And everybody basically Jim needs an oil change just

like their car does. And with that we need to get off of the bad oils and

that's going to be your trans fats that's going to be the Omega 6s and it's

gonna be the fried foods. Unsaturated, polyunsaturated oils. Exactly yeah,

and we need to get the good oils in there and something everybody knows

that's gonna be the Omega 3s. And the other oils that we thought were

taboo, causing problems, but that we actually need to have. Yep. Such as

the coconut oil, such as some of the saturated fats, the mono saturated. We

because we need to have the healthy cell membranes to help with energy production,

regulation of the cells and also the mitochondria within the cells. As our

mitochondria goes so goes our health and our energy. Now mitochondria produce,

or actually produce ATP but they are little organelles within the cell, Jim.

Most people might have not heard of them but vitally important as we as we get

older our body decreases the production of them, we lose more of them. These are

called what? Mitochondria. Mitochondria, I see, okay.

Yeah mitochondria and we don't make enough of them like we did when we were

younger except you can change that. Nice. That's the neat part about the program

Jim it we can we can instruct the cells to make new mitochondria. There's things

we can do such as, simple as exercise, that increases the production of them.

Because mitochondria are the-- lets explain what they are. Yeah please. Yeah,

they're the energy factories of our cells. Right. And we've got to have

those guys function optimal level to heal our tissues, prevent disease, and keep

us younger longer and active. So it's very important to keep those at a optimal

functioning level. Now generally what happens with the dying off of

mitochondria or dying off of cells in general, is there's just not enough

energy to keep them going so the mitochondria begin to stop producing

quality energy. Correct. And the quality energy is really a direct function of

the quality fuel you put into the cells. So I know you've done a lot of research

and a lot of work on that and there's a Dr. Joseph Mercola down at UCLA, somebody

that you know, and has done an enormous piece of research on how the body in

fact processes food. And what we've been told and how the food industries have

grown up and just dominated our health blindly to to a great extent, really

isn't the way that health works. It just, you're being fed foods that are really

not even the right foods. But Dr. Mercola came out with a lot of research on using

an oil diet. Exactly what you're talking about, ketone oil diet basically. And

coconut oil, olive oils, avocados a huge food source for the mitochondria

to begin to regenerate the cells of the body. So you want to talk about that and

maybe here maybe-- Oh absolutely. Talk about that book. This

is the book: Fat for Fuel. A very, very cutting edge, very transformative. We're

coming out of the 3D realm of survival and our mass consciousness with diet and

eating habits now Jim, and we're moving into that fourth dimension, the

fifth dimension where things are changing.

And we're going to change the things for our body so it can keep up with our

transformation of our change in consciousness. And we want to catch the

body up. This is certainly one way to start, to start in that process as

doing the metabolic detox. And then sending the right signals. That's what

this diet does. It helps and it's actually an eating program. You're going

to be eating a lot of good oils, adequate protein, excuse me but less less

carbohydrates than what you're certainly used to. And the reason is what we want

to look at the things that destroy our cells and tissues and eliminate

those that's certainly going to be sugar and it's certainly going to be the

simple carbohydrates. This is so revolutionary in the way he presents

this here to implement it in your daily activities of living. But you want the

good oils as Jim said and this is important and this goes with a modified

ketogenic diet. Ketogenic diets is where you have your main source of

calories is from the good oils as Jim had mentioned, adequate protein with just

a low amount of carbohydrates but certainly adequate. The reason is the, and

this has to do with the way the whole body functions as far as the pH of our

system. Even sugars and a lot of breads and these types of starches and things

increases the acidity of our, of our our body. Well this is what just

junks up the whole internal system and the the intestinal system and

consequently you need a metabolic detox to get back into a good place. Exactly

right. So this book is really very fascinating. We really strongly

recommend taking a look at it. It talks about the history of food in terms of

since the 18th century. How collage food and and some of these

different things. Some of these oils that you're started eating. Cotton oil which

was-- killed the animals, really the cottonseed oil until they reprocessed this a

little bit and decided we'll just give it all the humans. So lots of these things

that we just-- That's Wesson oil. That's what was called Wesson oil and basically

it's poisonous to the body. So beginning to recognize why, what you're eating, and

how eating differently, not dramatically differently, not really--

Different choices. Different choices, not really interrupting your whole system

significantly is going to make a change. One of the things that I keep being real

conscious of is the Shift in consciousness is really allowing the

body in the cellular structure to change. Much more easily than it has been in the

past. Yes. And so recognizing some of these changes that are possible in terms

of making a substitute. I know we eat a lot of avocados and coconut oil, primary

part of our diet. And where there was interest in breads and where there was

interested in sugars in the past, just no interest. The interest is gone. The body

is not interested in eating its habit any longer because it has a substitute

that burns a whole lot cleaner and more functional in the body. And I can

say in my own diet and I'm relatively I'm very healthy.

Absolutely. The change in my health level was really quite amazing in terms of the

clarity the focus the energy that I had to do things even though when I had

quite a bit of energy before. Yes it changes the the energy in your system

and this is quite noticeable as people do the metabolic detox because food has

an energy within itself, within the the molecules. And these molecules then

create a feeling and that feeling then creates an emotion. And so you actually

have a feeling and emotion of your system which is actually somewhat a

another connection with another, forms another mind of its own or brain. And

what we can start doing is to getting that synchronized with the consciousness

levels that we're progressing into so that they're more in line with each

other and we bring the body with it. Doing that with the right foods to send

the right signals and the right information the right energy is quite

powerful for an individual. You'll become more sensitive to the,

to the energies and also what I've noticed Jim, is I become more sensitive

to myself. I become more sensitive to my own thought patterns that I thought I

cleared and they're still, these little energies are popping up. I go, are you

kidding me? Look at that I never even saw that before. And this doing the metabolic

detox and particularly a lot of times I'll do three days of water fasting with

the detox products. And you become so much more sensitive to yourself so that

you can really make the changes and this is just it's-- Yeah there's something

I've learned too that's really interesting and I've watched this for

years. You know you you if you look at a town, a city, and a portion of city starts

to deteriorate and then it deteriorates further. You begin to get a clientele, a

type of person that comes and lives there. And you have lower and lower happiness,

crime increases etc etc. And that begins to be a general problem. Parasites in the

body function exactly the same way. Yes. Parasites, and your body is full of

parasites, it just comes with the territory.

You're like the earth everything lives on, the earth, the parasites lived there.

But when the body isn't healthy it's like that deteriorating part of the

city and you start to get anaerobic environments where you get a whole

different set of parasites. Parasites bring with them thoughts. Now that's a

whole nother topic for another time but you begin to have a degenerated

environment in which the body is now hosting this kind of dis-ease that

ultimately happens. And these metabolic detoxes and the change in oils getting

off of the sugars, some of the carbohydrate levels that we all take, and

basically it's like a renovation project in the city.

The parasites just can't sustain themselves in aerobic high energetic

vibrational circumstances. So this oil diet begins to be something

that starts to have multiple effects across the board.

Those degenerated places I'm watching in a person's body is what you mentioned

last week: arthritis, rheumatism, different kinds of dysfunctional aspects of the

body, lots of inflammation comes out of the

poor dietary structuring. So what you're talking about in your success with

reversing aging and reversing the chronic diseases is really exciting.

Real cutting edge out where you get to play. It's all possible. People

have control over about 90% of their own health and they don't know it but that's

what we want to bring is that information they can make those changes.

Yeah let me so let me bring this to your attention once more time this book. Easy

reading, very, very informative, it has recipes, it has diet instructions in it,

it talks about oils that are good, it talks about the history of the food

industry in terms of the relationship with the governments and how we actually

got here. Very informative book. But Joe Mercola is just one of these brilliant

brilliant people who have been just dropped on the planet to begin to change

the direction. So something we would recommend. I'd also point you to

Everett's website there's lots of good information there. We're not necessarily

here selling anything we're just basically telling you where you can start to look

at places to shift yourself in this shifting process of this consciousness

change that we're all playing in. So Everett, again thank you very much. My pleasure. For kind

of playing here. We're going to come back next week with Everett one more time and

I'm not going to be here. Roxanne's going to be here and we want to talk about

hormones both for males and females. But things like menopause and how to

basically move through that in a way that's a lot more comfortable than many

women go through. But men go through an aspect of

menopause also, it's called-- Andropause. Andropause and it's really

upsetting and most men don't even understand what's going on and they

don't have any sense that they could possibly be having something like that

happen. So hormones and a little bit more about how to balance out your reality so

I hope this is really useful and Everett again thank you so much for being here.

This is kind of fun and I hope this is helpful information for all of you. So

look forward to seeing you next week.

Trump Breaking 64 Yr Record for Not Visiting Liberal State - Duration: 45:19.

Trump Breaking 64-Yr Record for Not Visiting Liberal State

It's no surprise that California is no friend lately to conservatives or the Republican

Party — at least not in presidential politics.

So, it's also probably not a surprise that President Donald Trump is on his way to breaking

a 64-year old record for not stepping foot in the formerly Golden State his first year

in office.

Granted, it won't be a full year until Jan. 20, but it doesn't look like he'll be

stopping there any time soon.

The last chief executive to avoid visiting California for this long while in office was

President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

He waited until his 13th month, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Dan Schnur, a professor of political communications at USC's Annenberg School of Communications

told the Times, "It's hard to imagine an environment less alluring to him right

now than deep-blue California."

He continued, "He'll get here eventually, but we probably shouldn't hold our breath

that it's coming anytime soon."

There's some good reason for that.

As the Los Angeles Times puts it, "it's ground zero for 'the resistance'" (if

there really is a "resistance").

But let's face it, liberals absolutely hate the fact that Trump is in office.

California may or may not be ground zero for "the resistance," but it most certainly

is ground zero for American liberalism.

After all, Californians overwhelmingly voted for their grand champion, Hillary Clinton

in 2016, with over 8 million votes.

Trump only got about half of that.

Not only that, as the Times points out, it's California that has been leading the way in

opposing Trump's environmental and immigration policies.

So, what about the over 4 million who voted for him in California for the last election?

Chairman of the California Republican Party Jim Brulte says he wouldn't worry too much

about it.

"The president has a lot of things he has to do," he told the Times.

"We Californians are OK.

We are used to being on the far end."

He continued, "He's the first president that's got significant tax reform and restructured

the federal courts in his first year.

We'll trade that for a visit to California anytime."

I agree with Brulte.

Trump has been pretty busy this year.

In fact, we put together a list of 160 things he's done to "Make America Great Again,"

in just his first year in office.

So, it's probably OK if he doesn't visit California just yet.

There are more welcoming places for him to visit anyways.

4 Red Cross Resolutions for 2018 - Duration: 2:06.

Happy Monday January 1st! The Red Cross team wishes you a Happy New Year 2018.

And since it's time for resolutions, we have a few suggestions for you and your family.

Resolution #1: Learn how to save lives. This year, there are no

excuses, you need to sign up for a first aid and CPR class to learn what to do in

case of an emergency. It's simple: you just need to visit redcross.ca/firstaid

and select a course in your area. And if you completed a first aid class in another decade,

it's about time to refresh your memory. We recommend renewing your first aid

certification every three years. I registered myself for a 2-day class in January, so check!

Resolution #2 : Be ready! There's no need to wait for

rumours of the end of the world to prepare yourself for a disaster such as a

home fire, a flood or a severe ice storm. It's very important to prepare and

practice your own evacuation plan with your family and assemble an emergency

kit that will allow you to survive for the first 72 hours of a disaster.

Visit redcross.ca/ready to be better prepared for an emergency.

I need to refresh my own kit so I will shop a little bit more this week.

Resolution # 3 : Sign up for a swimming and water safety class

If you or your children don't know how to swim

this is the year to jump into the water with professional swimming lessons.

Red Cross offers programs for all ages.

Visit redcross.ca/swim

Resolution #4 : Get involved! Volunteering is not only

a great opportunity to give back to your community but also to build

your skillset, meet new people and learn something new. Plus, studies show that

volunteering time makes you feel like you have more time. Of course, we like to

toot our own horn but volunteering at the Red Cross offers a wide variety of

enriching experiences. Visit redcross.ca/volunteer to learn more.

So for 2018, be ready for everything

and let's not forget to help the most vulnerable people here and

around the world.

Devon cat goes for scenic rides on top of a horse | news 24h - Duration: 3:38.

Louis is my purr-fect stablemate! Hilarious video shows horse-riding Siamese cat going for a scenic trek on his best friend Comet the pony

This Siamese cat decided to relax and put its paws up by going for a scenic ride on top of a horse.

Louis the cat and Comet the pony form an unlikely equestrian duo in this footage showing Louis sat on top of the saddle as the horse slowly wanders around.

After delicately climbing onto Comets back from a wall in the stable, Louis sits down and lets the horse take him on a walk near their home in Devon.

Louis the cat enjoys going for scenic rides on top of his friend Comet the Pony.

The unlikely pair go for rides near their home in Holsworthy, North Devon.

The video was shot by professional horse trainer Emma Massingale who often finds the friends nuzzling up together after a day of riding.

Ms Massingale has had Comet, a five-year-old Connemara Pony, for three years and Louis, a six-year-old Siamese cat, for about a year.

The 35-year-old shot the video in woodland around 10 miles from her home in Holsworthy, North Devon.

The pair take a leisurely stroll through woodland, crossing a bridge and splashing through a stream before making their way back home.

Owner Emma Massingale said they enjoy nuzzling up together after a day of riding.

The professional horse trainer added: People often do a double take when they see him out but lots dont notice him, until he meows.

Ms Massingale said: It all started when I was riding Comet and I would just tap my leg and Louis would jump on.

Now all I have to do is tap Comets back and Louis is straight there.

He doesnt need anymore encouragement than that.

Louis rides whenever he likes really, sometimes just in the area sometimes he comes out for a longer wander.

Although Louis is an intrepid explorer, he wont be caught riding out in the rain.

Ms Massingale added: People often do a double take when they see him out but lots dont notice him until he meows.

I have to watch out for dogs but Louis seems to like to ride so doesnt jump down when we are out.

Although Louis is an intrepid explorer, he wont be caught riding out in the rain.

Here the pair wander through a stream together.

UCF National Champions: The Case for a Split College Football Title || CACAO TV - Duration: 11:00.

UCF National Champions: The Case for a Split College Football Title

UCF has started their write-in campaign for a 2017 national championship.

Remember when the Big 12 launched its "One True Champion" campaign only to award a split conference title to Baylor and TCU in 2015? The College Football Playoff could be headed to a similar fate after promising to provide clarity to a murky BCS system.

UCF is now poking the bear of the college football establishment by starting a national championship campaign.

The school plans to treat this season as if they won the title with rings, parades, shirts and even changed their Twitter handle to "2017 National Champions." Before you dismiss their troll game, you would be wise to consider the case for UCF as the people's champion.

UCF marched into the heart of SEC country, and defeated Auburn, the only team to beat the two teams playing in the national championship game.

The common critique of UCF has been their schedule.

The Knights defeated three ten-win teams a total of four times with UCF defeating Memphis twice.

While it's true UCF does not have the most imposing strength of schedule (ranked 72nd in Sagarin), it does not tell the whole story.

UCF had Georgia Tech on the schedule, a team with the No.

16 ranked schedule, but the matchup was cancelled because of Hurricane Irma.

While far from a guarantee, it would have been a winnable game for UCF, and bumped up their strength of schedule.

Thanks to the hurricane causing games to be rescheduled, UCF played 11 straight games without a bye week.

The challenge is there does not seem to be a sliding scale when evaluating strength of schedule.

Just as the committee is able to factor in things like injuries to key players when looking at results, each team's schedule should be evaluated based on circumstances.

Alabama has the No.

47 ranked schedule which shows the committee understands strength of schedule is a metric to consider, but not the metric to consider.

Otherwise, let's hand Maryland the national championship trophy for having the most difficult schedule in the country.

For all the talk of Group of Five teams needing to "schedule up" to be a true national championship contender, what brand-name school wants to schedule a team like UCF? If Alabama schedules UCF to open their season, they do not get any bonus points for a win, while a loss would put the rest of their season in serious jeopardy.

Detractors can continue to dismiss UCF because of their schedule, but the majority of Power Five teams would struggle to accomplish what the Knights did this season if given UCF's budget.

UCF faces a unique opportunity to become the perfect candidate to be the anti-establishment team of college football.

For all the fans of blue-blooded institutions, there are just as many people who spent their college days tailgating on Saturdays everywhere from Topeka to Toledo who want to feel their football team matters too.

The name on the front of the jersey should always matter more than the conference patch on the sleeve.

As a college football fan, ask yourself if you are comfortable with a system where the pathway to a championship is based on an archaic conference structure often formed decades before the players on the field were born.

Over the off-season, UCF can position itself as the Chance the Rapper of college football.

There was a time when to be one of the best rappers in the game, you worked your whole life for a chance to get signed to a major label.

Chance and many other artists have shown that now the market gets to decide if you have what it takes thanks to the internet.

If I am new UCF head coach Josh Heupel, I'm finding the biggest 1980's stereo system around, and going to conference board rooms across the country with Drake's "Big Rings" on repeat.

Man what a time to be aliveYou and yoursvs.

Me and mineAre we talkin' teams?…And I got a really big teamAnd they need some really big rings.

With the country's attention for this short period of time, Heupel's message should be simple, "UCF will take on any team, any place and any time." While the circumstances are different in college basketball, Here's the funny thing about schedules.

You can only play the games that are on it, and the teams that are willing to play you.

UCF and other Group of Five teams can continue to complain that no major label will sign them, or they can change the game by creating their own label.

That Time Alabama Declared Itself National Champions.

Long before Nick Saban, there was a season where Alabama declared itself national champions.

Thanks to a recent history lesson by ESPN's Scott Van Pelt, let's take a look at the 1941 national champions, the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Prior to the 1950's, college football had 16 different selectors including the Houlgate System who declared Alabama national champs.

Roll Bama Roll provides a bit of context about the Houlgate System.

In 1941, Houlgate was the oldest remaining recognized system for crowning National Champions.

It began in 1927, and was highly regarded for its systematic approach to finding out who the best team in the nation was.

In fact, it was the only system at the time that took strength of schedule into account, and which we'll find out later, may have played a large roll in its final selection.

The AP poll was in its infancy, 5 years old to be exact, while Houlgate was on its 14th year of service.

You can essentially compare this to the AP poll versus BCS debate….

No sport can survive if teams are able to simply declare themselves champions.

Is UCF declaring itself national champions a gimmick? Sure, but it's a smart gimmick that the program should stretch through the off-season.

When you say out loud what UCF has accomplished, it seems less outlandish than you may have originally thought.

The Knights are the only undefeated team in the country.

UCF defeated Auburn, the only team to have wins over both championship game teams.

They did all this in the midst of rumors their coach was leaving, then defeated Auburn after their coach had already left.

UCF was the most consistent team in college football despite a hurricane derailing their schedule and bye week.

For all the reasons fans can cite as to why UCF should not be in the College Football Playoff, UCF could have cited any number of excuses to justify a loss, except they did not need to.

How UCF Could Earn a Split National Championship.

Beyond wanting to push the conversation forward, UCF is hoping their campaign over the next week can be enough to earn a split national championship.

This could be the first year we have any sort of controversy when a champion is crowned in the College Football Playoff.

While we have not seen this in the sport's current format, split titles are nothing new to college football.

UCF athletic director Danny White did his best to campaign for UCF to get a share of the trophy on ESPN's Dan Le Batard Show (via CBS Sports).

Hopefully, in the coming days, a lot more people will become believers as well.

We feel like we're deserving of a national championship.

By our research, there's been 36 different years where there have been multiple champions crowned in college football.

There's been years where there were three or four champions crowned.
