Hello everybody, it's me and the birthday dude, and we are gonna do his 12 months update yay
So we switched up the venues for his 12 month update because keeping him contained on our bed is nearly impossible now
So we've created a very large enclosure in the living room
Hopefully he is a little more cooperative
This set up and you can see everything he gets into
The Gabriel's birthday is today. He is now 12 months old
Which is crazy?
He weighs 21 pounds 15 ounces, so he's almost to 22
he we think is about probably 30 inches tall we haven't gotten him who measured officially but
We measured this
Gate thing and it's 28 inches and he sticks up above it
So I'm gonna go with about 30 his one year appointment with the pediatrician is Thursday, so we'll get the official height then
He has 18 he got a new tooth
Since the last video. He's got 4 on the top 4 on the bottom
He is still waking up through the night not
Not as much as before and he probably averages about a
Six-hour
Stretch is his longest stretch, and then he wakes up probably I think twice 2 or 3 times a night
He goes to bed at about 7:30, and he wakes up about 6:30 or 7:00, and he is super fascinated with my earring right now
As for his abilities he can do so many things now, it's so fun
He takes probably the most steps. He's taken unassisted. It's probably doing about five steps in a row
He crawls everywhere. He does this weird little crab crawl
He waves bye-bye he throws his arms up in the air when you ask him how big he is?
Hopefully Jacobs gonna cut in some video of that because he's there's no way I could make him do it. He was just doing it
How were you?
He can say a couple of words
He's trying to climb this currently he can say light hat uh-oh
He likes to lunge
Mama dad be be working on puff. Ah what else could he say daddy
Working on bye-bye - he said it the other day
Yeah
He blows raspberries he's starting to just blow
He's starting to hum which is really cute we tried to teach him hohoho at Christmas
But now it just kind of converted it
And dumped em hmm, and that's really cute
He blows his nose
So everyone in our family
That's been visiting has been sick, and so he's heard a lot of people blowing their nose, and so he fake blows his nose
But he makes the noise that people make when they blow their noise
Then he's got so many new noisemaker toys that he's starting to mimic the sounds that he hears. We've got one
Farmyard thing and he'll mimic the animal sounds and it's really cute
He dances he really likes music. It's got a good bass line. He really likes it
He can't put his toys in the dump truck. He knows where to put him
He likes to eat everything because I'm sure he's seen
As for Foods what new foods have we given him he got gumbo at Christmas?
Grits, I've been making him his own little baby oatmeal
It's obviously his smash cake from his birthday
he did really good with eating that I am still terrified to give him anything that he could possibly choke on so I
feed him from the spoon mostly
I know I need to ease up and let him actually grab some food because last night
He did not want to be fed from his spoon
He wanted to grab everything and put it in his own mouth, so we're gonna work on that
He's still combination fed. He gets formula during the day while I'm gone because I'm not pumping very much
And then at night he gets breastfed and that seems to be okay for
His likes he loves TV remotes or
Cell phones or anything you hold in your hand and control. He wants to have it and chew on it and play with it
So anytime you pick up your phone or your the remote he's in your vicinity
He will want it and get upset if you don't give it to him
He loves
Toys that light up and make noise because he likes to dance he likes to take two toys and bang them together
He likes to hear the sounds that it makes he likes to bang toys on anything and make them make noise
He loves other children and babies still he is starting to
discover and play with more and more our dogs, which they are not fans of
he's not learned how to
Pet them softly he wants to poke them in the face which is kind of what he does to other babies
So we've got to watch him when he's around my little cousin our nephew
as
For oh, and then he also he loves to be mobile like he doesn't sit still
He's not a cuddly baby that you can hold in your lap
Tenth he is on the go on the move
24/7 well he sleeps 14 hours a night the remaining hours of the days on the go on the move
He does not like to be contained and that's probably his number one dislike
His being contained and not being able to run which is why we had to
expand our enclosure
He actually does pretty good in his car seat though. He's only content
Which is odd for a boy that does not like to be complaining who does fitness class eat?
It isn't like if we put him in here and then leave the room for just a minute. He gets real upset
He does not like when you take away your phone or the TV remote because you want to change the channel or the volume
He gets really mad Mandy gave pitched some fits. He will literally
Straighten and shake this whole little body. It's funny. You're not supposed to laugh, but he's definitely developed its attitude
He
Does not like to have his bottles too cold we still have to warm him up, and I feel like it's probably time to
Transition to pickup now that he's a year old. I don't have to read up on that
Good luck getting him the hole. He holds his bottle sometimes. Don't worry
Since our last video he has celebrated a couple of fun things obviously Christmas, which he had a great time
He did so well on our big Louisiana tour the last time I went to Louisiana
Thanksgiving it was a pretty hard trip for him because unbeknownst to us
He was cutting a tooth and so he didn't nap well. He didn't sleep well. He was not his usual
Joyful self, but Christmas was a completely different story. He was such a good baby napped while he slept well
He was happy all the time
He got lots of good quality time both sets of grandparents. He got to meet new people
He got to open presents, and he was more excited about the tissue paper and the wrapping so it was a lot of fun
A big joy for us to experience our first Christmas with our little angel, baby. We're gonna put a link to it up here

What's his first birthday party his birthday's on a Tuesday?
And so we wanted to celebrate it last weekend instead of the following weekend
and he had a great time a

So this will probably be our last monthly update because it seems weird to do a thirteen months and a fourteen months
What we'll do instead is if he's got some new abilities that he's doing
We'll do like a little highlight video of what he's up to now. Maybe every three months or so
