Waching daily Nov 2 2017

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is pretty much the only thing guaranteed to get me to a movie theater on opening night.

But even though the movies are amazing, there is popular criticism that their villains

are kind of weak yet there's one villain that everybody seems to adore and root for.

I am Loki of Jotunheim. And I bring you a gift.

While most Marvel villains get killed off or captured after just one film, Loki has now played a major role in four films.

There's even petitions for his own movie.

I believe there are four major reasons why Loki has literally gotten away with

murder and become one of the biggest fan favorites in the Marvel Universe.

And understanding these four things will help so you too can get away with making mistakes or screwing up

without it being something people hold against you — just don't actually try to get away with murder.

We're going to start with the obvious one — I think points two through four

are even more interesting insight into some unique things that make humans like someone but we have to start with the obvious.

First and foremost, Loki is charming — he's clever, enjoying himself, and unfazeable.

He looks like he's always in on a joke that you don't know yet.

You're?

I'm Loki. And I've—

That's for New York.

I like her.

Responding to that slap with a smile and a compliment might be the single most

infuriating and attractive way he could have responded.

Even when his life is threatened, he's playful and totally unfazed.

Betray and I'll kill you.

It's good to see you too, Sif.

Here's my favorite example of him being unfazeable under stress.

This is so unlike you, brother — so clandestine.

They're in the middle of a high-pressure escape and he's just having fun.

Because he's always having fun, it creates a swagger.

Perhaps you prefer one of your new companions given that you seem to like them so much.

Oh, this is much better. Ooh. Costume's a bit much — so tight.

But the confidence — I can feel the righteousness surging.

We envy that carefree attitude and confidence that everything is going to turn out alright.

And you know what? We honestly should all have a bit of that in us.

Most of us overestimate the severity of our situations.

At the end of the day, unless you're struggling against starvation or

facing a life-threatening situation, life is only as stressful and serious as we make it.

If you have a roof over your head, food every day, and you go from sunrise to sunset without facing death,

you're doing better than 95% of humans throughout history.

By making light of things and having fun while not doing anything to jeopardize the mission Loki shows carefree

everything-is-gonna-be-all-right swagger that we admire and enjoy watching.

You lied to me. I'm impressed.

Even in chains, you get the sense that everything Loki does is because he wants to

not out of guilt or obligation but true desire. A good portion of this is tough to fake.

If something affects you and you repress it, it comes across differently than if you're truly unfazed.

That said, one thing you can do today is set a reminder in your phone

that pops up several times a day and asks, "How can I make this more fun?"

Our brain answers whatever we ask.

If you ask yourself, "What do I suck at?" you'll get an answer.

If you ask yourself, "What's something I'm good at?" you'll get an answer.

So by setting yourself up with a reminder, "How can I make this more fun?" you

prime yourself to answer it and make your day-to-day life a little bit more enjoyable.

Now, convey all of this to, say, Malekith from Thor the Dark World

who monotonely drolls in an alien language about destroying the universe, it's clear why fans obsess over Loki.

[Malekith speaking in Svartalfheim language]

That's life; the charming charismatic people get the attention and affection of others

and the majority of people go unseen or unremembered.

Now that said, I actually found Ultron very charming in a weird polite robot sort of way

so why doesn't he have anyone rooting for him or begging for a solo Ultron movie?

It's because of Loki's second strength — we root for him because we understand him, we empathize with his motives, and we relate to him.

And you can use that in your own life as well.

First, let's start with Loki. When you know his backstory, it's hard not to feel for him.

Loki is the clever but smaller little brother to Thor and it's clear that he's not the favorite in his friend group or to his father.

What happened? Silver tongue turned the lead?

Thor, Odin's son, my heir, my first-born...

So yeah, he's been dealing with 5,000 years of that then he finds out

he's actually adopted and not from some lovely Asgardian family, nope.

Loki is actually adopted from the Frost Giants — a race that as Guardians like him are raised to hate and fear as monsters.

What am I?

You're my son.

What more than that?

We can identify with him. He feels under-appreciated for his gifts, overshadowed by

the achievements of someone he doesn't think is any better than him.

If you have a sibling, you know the feeling from some point in your childhood

or adulthood of wanting all of your parents' love or wanting to be the favorite.

Even in an office setting, who hasn't been frustrated by a more favored co-worker

who gets better assignments or better pay despite not being as good as you?

Or frustrated by a boss that we don't think is as smart as we are?

Loki's not driven by limitless greed or an unexplained love for destruction.

In the beginning, he's a hurt son taking misguided actions

to try to prove that he's good enough and that he deserves to be loved.

I never wanted this throne! I only wanted to be more equal.

To some extent, that's what drives all of us — at least some of the time.

Regardless of how successful you are, some part of you just wants the love

and acceptance of your friends or your family or special someone.

We try to better ourselves or our circumstances so that people will like us so that we don't end up alone.

Why have you done this?

To prove to father that I am a worthy son.

When he wakes, I will have saved his life, I would have destroyed that race of monsters and I will be true heir to the throne.

Why does seeing ourselves in someone matter? It's because most of us don't 100% hate ourselves.

Even when there are things we don't like about ourselves or when we do something we aren't proud of,

we excuse it because of something in our past or our circumstances.

We go, "Yes, I get that this looks bad and I wouldn't want a world where everyone did this all the time.

But you don't understand this is different. I'm different. I only did that bad thing or told that small lie because of circumstances that make me special."

So when Loki makes terrible decisions or does bad things from a place we can understand we don't hate him for it.

We might hit his actions but some small part of us feels for him,

hurts with him, and even roots for him to find his way back to the good side.

I could have done it, father.

I could have done it... for you — for all of us.

How can you apply this to your own life?

One is — if you feel yourself angry with someone for something they've done,

try to remember that their life circumstances have led them here.

Maybe they cut you off because they're a jerk. But maybe they cut you off because they're racing to the hospital

You don't do this for their sake but for your own.

You'll find yourself being a more forgiving understanding person.

And you'll spend less time feeling things like anger and frustration

which frees you up for more time feeling happy upbeat and inspired.

Two — if you accidentally screw up be transparent and share with people what you were trying to do.

Let them see that you were motivated by good intentions.

We've all screwed up. If you start with good intentions and are transparent

about your mistakes and how things went wrong, people are much much more likely to forgive you.

That doesn't mean try to downplay ownership of the situation.

If you say, "this wasn't my fault because of X, Y, Z," it's not gonna work out well for you.

Ironically, if you don't try to deflect blame but instead

explain what happened while still accepting it, it's very likely

you won't suffer any major long-term damage to your relationships.

Loki? Lo-Loki's alive. Can you believe it? He's up there. Loki, look who it is.

The third reason that Loki is a villain with an adoring fanbase that forgives his flaws

and roots for him is because he is a tortured soul.

You sometimes get the sense that Loki doesn't want to cause destruction.

These rare moments where he isn't enjoying himself only come out when he potentially regrets the damage he's done.

And rather than undercutting his likability, they amplify it.

Thor: Look around you.

You think this madness will end with your rule?

It's too late. It's too late to stop it.

No, we can... together.

Is it real? Is it an act? He's unpredictable, you root for him to do the right thing, he constantly disappoints you, and then he gives you hope.

This happens in real life all the time. Also, he isn't just a cocky unfazeable a-hole.

He's in pain and he shows hints that he could maybe even be redeemed if only the right person came along and helped him.

Guards! Guards, please help!

I know a guy from college who embodies this to a tee

and the number of women that flocked to him knowing he's likely to hurt them was shocking to me before I understood this.

And it isn't just women. Men can have this savior complex too.

In either case, there's a large part of humanity that's drawn to people

not because of who they are but because of glimpses of who they could be.

This is why people go back to exes who cheat on them or mistreat them.

It used to baffle me. I had no idea how to stop people from going back to

bad situations until I understood that these relationships are addicting in the same way as certain drugs.

They create dangerously low lows but incredibly high highs and the glimmer of hope

that they can keep those highs and lose the lows gets them to go back.

The key here is that the most addicting people aren't bad all the time. What they are is unpredictable.

Loki is fascinating to us because he creates a wide range of emotions in us — laughter, frustration, sympathy, admiration.

You never know exactly what he'll do which keeps you riveted to him and keeps you thinking about him.

The fact that Loki is a demigod with insane power for creation or destruction takes this and puts it on steroids.

As a quick side note, I'm not saying you should be this way.

Long term, there are better ways to go about captivating people and attracting friends and dates.

There's a lot of different ways to be charismatic and magnetic and just because the tortured soul works for Loki doesn't mean you should aspire to it.

The last trait that makes us love Loki is something you can aspire to and that's that you can't keep him down.

We all make mistakes, take losses, and have bad days

so if someone is perfect, we don't necessarily like them.

Now, someone that falls, gets up and dust themselves off with a grin, that we can get behind.

If it's all the same to you... I'll have that drink now.

Now, when you combine that ability to take lumps and keep smiling with his cocky charm his deep-seated desire just to be loved

and his tortured unpredictable nature, you end up with, hands down, the best Marvel villain of all of them.

BREAKING NEWS TRUMP 11/2/2017: Hannity - President Donald Trump is trying to protect US - Duration: 18:42.

In disturbing new details

about the radical

Islamic attack in New York City if I pop admitted to carrying out the attack thing he wanted to kill as many people as possible

And was proud of what he'd done site bob was admitted to the u.s.. Under the so-called

diversity lottery

Diversity lottery sounds nice. It's not nice. It's not good. Let's talk about this diversity lottery

Situation this is a big fraud send them to get mom I would certainly consider this manhunt

Intensifying right now for a man who walked into a crowded

Walmart and just started shooting the president tweeted late tonight saying that tomorrow

He will officially named the new head of the Fed today is the day that we will finally see president Trump's historic tax plan

And are they celebrating in Houston they have never ever won a World Series and after what Houston

Texas and all the Texas a lot of the parts of the country have been through this year

It was sweet last night

And you know all six games were tremendous this game was really decided early on mm-hmm

Five runs really and then the Dodgers left a lot of men on base and in the end they disappointed their home fans

But what a great season the highest payroll in baseball goes down to the Euston Astros look at the six?

Just two years ago lost over a hundred games

Basically the same guys and one of the guys that plays for Houston. He proposed to us at the end of the girlfriend fiancee now

Moral Matt right anyway. These are now a collector's item congratulations to Houston and Dodgers great series and to the Bush family

I'm sure the two presidents are very happy because they were at one of the games

Yeah, because of President Bush 41 lives there and of course

George Bush owned the Texas Rangers he did family deep in baseball history all right meanwhile in other news a Fox News Alert

Disturbing new details just revealed about the accused

New York City terrorist who investigators say plotted that attack for weeks, it's unbelievable Julie Banderas is live at the scene in lower

Manhattan with new information and this guy is talking Julie

Yeah, he is and he is cooperating however not remorseful in fact the suspect whose name

I will not utter in order not to give him the notoriety he obviously wanted to seek

Being that he is the coward who was now suspected as the terrorist here one and only suspect here in New York City however

He was charged with federal charges including federal murder charges

Which carry the death penalty, and if that's not alarming enough?

We've actually also learned that he wanted to put ice as flags on his

Truck during the attack and wanted Isis flags in his hospital room

He was also actually interviewed by the FBI about terror ties in

2015 but a case was never opened up against him well last night the one and only suspect in this case appeared in court

shackled in a wheelchair showing no remorse as he heard the federal terrorism charges brought against him one count of

Providing material support to terrorists and one count of violence and destruction of a motor vehicle

Causing death that latter charge is the one that carries the death penalty

We've also learned chilling new details of just how he plotted the attack four weeks

After being radicalized online making dry runs to the city listen

a search of cellphones found in a bag that he was carrying a

Search conducted pursuant to court authorized wiretap

revealed thousands of Isis related images and

ninety videos about ninety videos depicting among other things

Isis fighters killing prisoners by running over them with a tank

beheading them and

shooting them in the face

We also have new amateur video to show you and in it you can see the twenty nine year old suspect aimlessly running around

crashing his rental truck then soon after NYPD police officer and hero cop Brian Nash fired off nine rounds shooting him in the leg and

subduing him both the NYPD and the FBI

Continued their investigation, which did include one person of interest who they did interview?

But at this point does not have enough ties to actually be named a suspect as of yet, but they are keeping a close

Eye on him so now this one suspect right now

behind bars and

Will be facing some very very serious charges as I mentioned the death penalty is on the table here back to you guys

Alright, Julie. Thanks meanwhile the the Ikey said the FBI questioned in 2015 about 20

About terrorist ties is about 23 people listed him when coming over as the point of contact

If they were able to go to a social media if it revealed with the reveal now

I'm wondering if the FBI had the latitude to be able to do that then they could have revealed directly I know in

England they could pick you up for son and hold you for a period of time

Before they charge you with anything, maybe we need to give our guys that well

He what he hasn't been charged back

then he was just questioned because

Somebody else was on a terror watchlist apparently and so he was a guy who was close to him

They talked to him a couple of years ago

Let him go this guy know what I'm trying to say is when they talk to him if they were able to go through his

Social media, I'm sure they didn't just should do this in the last year

They would have maybe seen some links there to say hold it a second. We're gonna have to hold on to you

Well that part of the investigation going forward we we do know for sure that apparently what he wanted to do

The other day when he drove that truck through, New York and tried to kill as many people as he could

He wanted actually to be flying an Isis flag on the Home Depot truck, but then he thought oh

That's not too smart because I would draw attention to myself so he didn't have the flag however at the hospital at Bellevue

He said I did a really good job with what I did

I would like a flag police officers to have him in the room and they said no

That's disgusting. He's been planning this for about a year about two months ago

He decided to use that truck so that he could inflict the maximum amount of damage on the victims room

He rented the truck on October 22nd so a week ago to practice making turns so that he would get it right on Tuesday

He rented it for two hours with no intentions to ever return it. He took that truck and there it is

That's how it ended all right, so here's what the president tweeted yesterday, and he spoke a lot

New York City Terrace was happy as he asked to hang his Isis flag in the hospital room

He killed eight people badly injured twelve should get the death penalty and he could be looking at the death penalty

He is way too comfortable

I'm not saying torture

But there's got to be a wait for these terrorists not to feel as though they're in the promised land in our hospital

He also complained about his wounds when he was in the wheelchair

Which he demanded while he was hearing him being read his rights. Yeah

Keep in mind

He is actually looking at his iPhone of people being run over by tanks and shot in the face at the same time

he's complaining about his wounds after he gets medical treatment smiling ear-to-ear about what he did there's a

Fundamental and equity to what's going on right now and the and we are not getting what he knows

Into our intelligence people's hands law enforcement doesn't know what he knows and that's the problem

He's a martyr he thinks he's a hero

He thinks he deserves to however many virgins in heaven, and I'm sure he was planning on on being killed that day yesterday

That's where I got the guns out right right?

Then he was planning on going over to the Brooklyn Bridge and and controlling more people

yeah, well the president United States said yesterday at the end of a

Press availability was asked whether or not he would consider sending this guy to Gitmo what the president say listen to this

Mr.. President do you want the assailant from New York sent to Gitmo?

Whew mr. President. I would certainly consider that yes, are you considering that now sir?

I would certainly consider that are you sending to Gitmo I would certainly consider that yes, Orry by by evening

somebody the district court read him his rights for some reason our attorney general was just

Sitting on his hands. He never stepped up got on the same page and decided if he should be

Looked at as an enemy combatant

remember George Bush took his M&E enemy combatant 1 and put him in South Carolina in the brig for 30 days

It's not so much. What happens to him. It's we need to know what he knows and who else he's in contact

Well as far as the Gitmo thing goes no one's ever been no one who's been arrested on American soil has ever been sent to

Get an American has ever sent to Gitmo and and on purpose and no one

No one captured on foreign soil has ever been sent there so at least since 2008 there was one American who was captured in

Afghanistan I believe and taken to Gitmo they didn't realize he was born in the United States

And eventually they repatriated him to Saudi Arabia

But the problem for the administration if they want to send this guy to Gitmo is he's an American citizen and as an American citizen

He's got a green card he he has constitutional rights because he's not American citizen

He has got constitutional rights because he came in on that diversity visa program

The diversity visa program that we told you about yesterday is something that the president is saying hey Congress do something turn it off

It's not working

here's the president I

Am today starting the process of terminating the diversity lottery

Program I'm going to ask Congress to immediately

Initiate work to get rid of this program diverse eree and

diversity lottery

Diversity lottery sounds nice. It's not nice. We're so politically correct that we're afraid to do anything

And that's not only in our country that other countries too that are having

very similar problems and

We have to get tough. We have to get smart. We have to do what's right to protect our citizens

We will never waver in the defense

of our beloved country ever

We'll never ever forget the beautiful lives that have been taken from us

This guy is an enemy combatant should be treated like that if we're serious about keeping our people safe

your mindset should be this what if that was your family member that was run over on that bike path on a

56-degree beautiful day, and I think people are distance himself trying to put them through the criminal justice system

And they're not acknowledging they were in a war if we have that Chelsea bomber. We don't know what's next now

We have the bike path bomber. Maybe there's a link

we don't know unless we get access to the Chelsea bomber who has been lured up and

Mirandized so he could decide not to talk and he was convicted. No one's worried about a conviction

We're worried about intelligence from the enemy combatants, which is now for some reason. He's lawyer up and been Mirandized

He's got a public defender

Well clearly they've decided that that's the way they're gonna go with this guy because did they did they pre think it did it did

the Attorney General Sessions

Pre-think what his policy we've got a judgement of Paulette on O on he knows all about the law

He's gonna be talking about that in a little while I was reading in one of the New York papers this morning, though

And it said you know given the fact that there have been some calls to

Turn him into a military an enemy combatant if he actually went through the criminal justice system

He would probably be found guilty faster. Given the history of how long people have sat in the brig

We're going down together, right?

No one's worried about a conviction 99% of the courts end up in conviction

But people worried about the intelligence to stop the next attack

And we are now hamstrung because he's talked about you talked about the families James Drake

Yeah, was he's the father of Darren Drake

He was 32 years old and he said his son was a miracle baby said that they tried for 12 years to have kids then

They then they had this miracle beautiful, baby

and they brought him home on Thanksgiving they were so thankful and

He didn't come home for dinner last night and they thought no. There's no way that our son could be involved in this

Unfortunately he was everybody elfin shape your family. Yeah, their family will never be the same city

It's a great kid heartbreaking alrighty. It is 6:12 now here in New York City next up

I'll run down the similarities between the attack in New York and the Boston bombings ed Davis police chief of Boston at the time is

Live next plus former First Lady Michelle Obama is slamming men, but blaming women

Or are we protecting our men too much, so they feel a little entitled and a little you know?

You know a little self-righteous sometimes

Fox News Alert we're learning more about the suspects in the new york city truck terror attack he entered the united states in

2010 under the diversity visa program and investigators say he was plotting this attack for weeks

Shooting us now to talk more about the similarities between the attack in Boston on the Boston Marathon attack

As Edie Davis he was the former police commissioner and Fox News contributor

commissioner first off do you see some similarities between the two

Certainly you know there is a there's this similar

Process of planning it's a very small in this particular case one person in the case of the Boston

Marathon two people that put together this plot. It was relatively simple and basic it wasn't complex. It didn't involve

many conspirators, but it was deadly and very effective so

The this guy is conscious

You are the younger brother conscious, and the federal authorities quickly came in and said hold off commissioner don't read him his rights yet

Right here. They read him his rights last night. What's the difference?

Well there's a clause in the Patriot Act that takes the process out of the civilian courts into a

military-style

Process so in the case of the Sahni as I got a call from the United States attorney who ordered me to

give orders to my officers not to read the suspects their rights and they brought a special team in of

of intelligence and military personnel

Because they thought that this may be an ongoing plot

So there is a there is a possibility of doing that in the law, but you know everybody's angry right now

I think we have to we have to be very cautious and listen to what the law says and and and you know this thing

It separates us from the terrorists is that we have the rule of law here right that's fine

And I would love to have used that Patriot Act axiom on this guy because we don't know what we don't know

now the family he's got a wife and kids evidently neighbors have described the wife as

Obstruent kids got out people are bring the kids back to the house not even a thank you you wonder you had a wife issue

It took you a year to arrest that arrest her. What do you think the family knows? What would you do with the family?

Well I mean the wife in the sunny of case was not arrests that she was questioned, but I think that you have to maintain

Significant surveillance on the individuals who are

associated with these people and

And make sure that you know everything that they're doing and when they cross that line

And you have enough evidence to charge you have to move quickly on it

But but you do have to follow the law

and you know the you just have to you have to all of our actions of enforcement and

surveillance of predicated upon acts

Hey Commissioner

Knowing how bad you like everybody else watching wants to stop the next attack

Don't you think it's in America's best interest?

To not mirandize these people

Quickly until we know what they know and now that we this guy's been Mirandized has got a public defender. We might never know

Well and we have to follow the law and and in this particular case there have been decisions made based upon the acts we all

Want a piece of this guy right now? Everybody's angry and and?

Let's just be deliberative about this let's find out what he knows to stop the next attack. I don't think anger plays a role here

Well you you're right we need to be deliberative

We need to follow the law and the law on this is very clear

There is a way to question these guys outside of the criminal justice system

If there's an ongoing plot something has happened here that has caused them to go down the the other route

and

and I think that that's based upon facts that we don't know about so I have to trust John Miller and the people from the

FBI that are doing the investigation right now one day they came to all those conclusions. I don't know if they have superhuman skills

Commissioner, thanks so much appreciate it

They did is frustrating. Thank you caught on camera the incredible moment a woman escapes her kidnapper after being stuffed in a trunk

That's next plus Democratic lawmakers want to make California sanctuary state this morning a new warning from the DOJ follow the law or lose millions

Good morning to you were back now with a Fox News Alert a manhunt intensifying for a man who opened fire inside a Walmart

Killing three people and driving away

This is the man police say walked into the store near Denver

Colorado and randomly fired near the cash register two men were killed instantly a woman later died at the hospital

Police say the suspect calmly walked out of the store and drove away in a red Mitsubishi hatchback

Today is the day we will finally see the historic cut cut cut TaxACT. That's what the president suggested Republicans call the much-anticipated

overhaul plan

Its cuts in relief, and it's also we can and frankly it's also

simplification

So we're covering everything there has never been anything like it

The plan was scheduled to be released on Wednesday, but was delayed one day for continuing negotiations

Ainsley okay

Thank You Julian a sanctuary showdown between the DOJ and

How Safe is my Money Part 1 | No Dumb Questions with Nancy Graham - Duration: 3:59.

"Are you taking good care of my investment accounts?"

This can be another awkward question to ask your advisor.

After all, what are the odds they're going to say no???

Even Bernie Madoff probably said something like, "Ahhhh … don't worry about it."

Maybe the real "No Dumb Question" goes more like this: How can I tell whether you're

taking good care of my investment accounts … and what happens if you're not?"

Fortunately, the vast majority of financial professionals are on the up-and-up.

But unfortunately, there will probably always be the occasional, Bernie-like bad apple in

the barrel to spoil things.

That means the government, the custodians where your accounts are held, and all reputable

financial advisors must join together to protect your accounts against malfeasance and, to

a point, insure against the damage done if it does occur.

Your own watchful eye is important too!

Want to know more?

Stick around for my next two sessions of "No Dumb Questions."

Unfortunately, scandals happen in the financial industry … High-paid sports heroes bilked

of their winnings.

Widows of modest means ripped off by their own family members.

Even the wisest among us are vulnerable.

In the US, the late, great Nobel Laureate and Holocaust Survivor Elly Vee-Sel AND his

not-for-profit Elly Vee-sel Foundation for Humanity were two of Bernie Madoff's countless

victims.

"Psychopath," "thief" and "scoundrel" were a few of the choice words Vee-sel used

to decry Madoff's fraud.

On the other hand, Vee-Sel also remarked that "something very beautiful" happened

when the news broke.

Small donations flooded in from across the country to begin rebuilding the Foundation's

coffers.

In many ways, Vee-Sel's experience is fitting.

We really shouldn't lose faith in humanity.

The vast majority of us are honest and kind to one another … not just in the financial

world, but wherever you go.

And remember, the media tends to only spread sensational news, at the worst scandals may

seem more pervasive than they actually are.

Applying these sentiments to your financial well-being, odds are high that your investment

accounts are – and will – remain safe and secure in a financial industry that has

built up with strong defenses against the rare "bad apples" in the cart.

But … that doesn't mean the bad elements don't exist, or that we should turn a blind

eye to them.

To stave off malicious intent, we still have to remain on guard for those times when an

otherwise effective system may fall off the rails.

The Canadian Investor Protection Fund, or CIPF, is one of your most important safety

nets.

The good news is, you don't have to pay for or do anything to be automatically covered

by this national "insurance policy."

As long as your money is held at an IIROC-regulated investment dealer – which most of the institutions

are – your cash, securities and most other investments are protected.

Who pays for the coverage?

It's funded by the IIROC member institutions where your money is being held.

But there also are some caveats.

Aren't there always???

First, CIPF is only there to cover your losses if the institution holding your money becomes

insolvent.

It will NOT protect you if, say, you're a victim of fraud, or you invest in a losing

venture, or an advisor steers you wrong.

For these sorts of abuses, you'd need to turn to our legal system.

And CIPF has limits.

I encourage you to go to their website for a detailed description.

All this begs two more questions: What is your investment advisor doing to help safeguard

your assets, and what can you do as well?

Tell you what.

How To Double Your Money - What Is The Rule of 72 - Duration: 9:00.

Kris Krohn here with Limitless TV. Today, we're talking about compounding interest

and we're going to talk about how to make it super simple, what is compound

interest, and how do you figure it out with one simple calculation. Hang tight.

So we get it, investing is required to get where we want to go and that means

that you need to have some type of rule to understand what investments are good

and wet which investments are bad. Listen, you've probably heard me knock down

401k's, annuities, IRA's, sure they'll have their moments in quarters or even a year

where they'll make 15% or 20%

but you've got to average that out over the next twenty years, where they're

producing negative and losing money or sometimes making 3% or 4%

and over 20 years they're often on the averaging 3% or 4%, which

means they're not even keeping up with inflation. How long would it take you if

you're making 3% on your money to double your money. I'm going to

share with you a rule of thumb today and at the end of this video, I'm gonna give

you a bonus for my personal rule of what I need that coefficient, that one number

to be to determine whether I say yes to the investment or no, because some

investments, they're risky because they grow too slow, we got it super jacked up,

we live in a world that's like, oh if you're making more than 5% it must be

hyper risky. I'm like, man, if you're making less than 5%, you're probably

planning on going nowhere with your life and never getting where you need to get

to so you're the risky one, dude! Alright, that was a little wild for the

morning but my personal feelings on it, we got risk upside down, we want safety

and safety equals: guaranteed-broken-never-gonna-make-it-you-will-fail

I'm going to bring it down a notch, let's talk about this rule. What is the rule that we

can use today, we're talking bout the rule of 72, and it's a quick quick way of

understanding interest. Let's talk first of all compounding interest, get money

not just on your initial deposit but you also get money or interest on the

interest from the previous year and that's why it's called compounding

interest and the math can get a little tricky for the average person, you don't

want up one of these complicated financial calculators and I don't want

to teach you crazy algorithms, so instead, here's the simple question: How long does

it actually take for you to double your money? If you were looking at an

investment on real estate, if you were looking at an investment on a car rental

business or a trucking business or some gold, silver, precious metal purification

process, I mean, the world is filled with investment opportunity, that's really the

question, how long does it take for you to double your money? And I want to show

you a rule to answer this question, it's called the Rule of 72. Now this is

really simple, what you're going to do in this very simple equation, I wouldn't use

a calculator and all you're gonna do is take what's the offered interest rate,

what's the fixed rate of return, that's on top and I'm gonna divide it

underneath by 72. It's weird, don't ask me why, it's just the number because if

you'll take the fixed rate and you'll divide it by 72, it'll always tell you

the length of time that it will take to double your investment. For example, let's

say that I was earning a 10% return on my investment, well 10% compounding

divided by 72, 10% divided by 72, is going to equal 7.2 years. It'll take me 7.2 years

for me to double my money.

Let's take $10,000 and you're making 10% on it and it's compounding, so 7.2 years

later, $10,000 will become $20,000, 7.2 years

later, $20,000 become $40,000, 7.2 years

later, $40,000 become $80,000, well it's now taking you 22-ish years to take

$10,000 and turn into $80,000 and let me ask you, can you retire on $80,000?

No, I mean, that's usually just one or two years worth of income for the

average person but it does give you a concept now of, oh, how do I judge my

investments and how do I snowball them? How do I move them faster? What you'll

find is that, the higher the interest rate, the more money you'll make. Now in

this next segment, I want to talk to you about arbitrage, it's a big word, don't

get scared by it because I want to reveal my real rule of how do we take

the rule of 72 and how many years am I willing to wait for my money to double

where I will hit the trigger and button on, yes I'll invest in that or no I won't,

that's coming up next.

There was a philosopher in the 1800's, JB Shea,

and he basically said, creating wealth is a matter of moving money from

low yields into higher yields. Well he was actually introducing a concept there

called arbitrage and don't get freaked out by this big word but it's a good

word to know, you can have a positive arbitrage or a negative arbitrage. Let me

give you an example. Arbitrage, for simplicity,

let's say that it means spread. Let's say that I borrow money at 5% and invest it

in a vehicle paying me 4%, well what's the difference? Well I'm losing 1%, that's

a negative arbitrage, if I could borrow money at 5% and lend it out at 10%,

that's a positive arbitrage and that has a positive delta of 5%, so JB Shea what

he was talking about here with this rule of 72, it's all about managing your

positive arbitrage. Whether the money is money you've saved up or whether it's

money borrowed, the principle is the same, how do I take a little and turn it into

a lot? Well you want to create as big of a positive arbitrage as possible.

Let's give you an example. Let's say that I have a home with some equity in it and I

can borrow it on my home equity loan at 3.5% percent but I can invest it at

20%, well the difference between 3.5% and 20% is a 16.5%

positive arbitrage. I would go into debt and borrow money all day long if I could

get it working for me at that higher interest rate, as long as it had a

certain tolerance of risk and it made sense, right, nothing is risk-free in this

world but there's certainly a lot of things with lots of risk, so the risk

needs to be relative to the reward. That's a positive arbitrage or maybe I

save up $1,000 and you work with me on my lease option training where I

can train you everything about lease options, so you can buy homes with

no money and let's say you do a deal and you make $30,000 and you're $1,000

invested in. Well, $1,000 goes into $30,000 30 times, that's

like a 3,000% a 30,000% return on your money. That's a

crazy, awesome return as a 3,000 return, 3,000%, that's a

really awesome, positive arbitrage. Does that make sense what I'm sharing with you?

Well, I said that at the end of this video I would share with you one of my

personal rules for investing. When I use the rule of 72, if I can't double my

money in less than seven years, I generally won't even look at it.

Why? Because it's not a real investment, it's not a serious investment, it's not

an investment that can get me where I want to go in a

realistic timeframe. The further you go out in your crystal ball, if you want to

try and guess an investment 30 years down the road, holy heck, are you kidding

me? Who knows what the world will look like in 30 years? Who knows what

technology will do to the world in 30 years? Who knows what what's gonna happen?

But if I can use my crystal ball to help me understand 3, 5, 7, 10 years down the

road, there's a greater safety there because I have more control

on where I'm at and where I want to get to be. Doing things that are so long-term

out and with low interest rates or you use the rule of 72 and it's like you'll

double your money in 48 years, that's not a real investment, that's the riskiest

thing you could do because who knows what will really happen in 48 years. You

might not even be alive but you're alive now,

so make your money work for you smart. Just because you get a high reward

or a high return, it doesn't mean higher risk. In my world, there's plenty of

investing options where you put a little out there on the line and you have a

great return coming your way and it's gonna kick the butt from the 401k market,

the IRA, or the stock market and that's what you need and so that's how it use

your rule is 72, to gauge your investments, to gauge the time frame and

how realistic your investments are. If it's not giving me a timeframe of under

7 years, it may not be the most wise investment anyway, because a small amount

doubling every seven years for 50 years means that, that small amount is not gonna

turn into anything big enough with compound interest by the time I need it.

So do something realistic. And friends, that's how you use the rule of 72.

Don't you love having awesome simple tools? Listen, you got another one right now on

your tool belt so you can look at your investment

opportunities through a different lens to now ask yourself "Is this a realistic way

to get where I want to go?" Thanks for watching today,

I certainly appreciate you and be sure to subscribe if you want to get more

powerful information like this on a daily basis.

YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO ACTUALLY

THAT'S THE WAY HE SAW IT.

THAT ANIMATED THIS.

WHEN I SAW HIM COME DOWN THAT HE

IS CLATER.

I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S SIMPLY A

PUBLICITY STUNT BUT IT WON'T

MATTER BECAUSE THERE IS

SOMETHING -- THERE IS SOMETHING

ABOUT THE WAY HE APPROACHED THAT

TELEVISION SHOW MADE NO SENSE TO

ME.

PEOPLE WHO LIKED IT, LOVED IT,

THERE IS A CONNECTIVE FACTOR HE

HAS A A INDID HE FAT IG ABILITY

WHICH I CREDIT HIM FOR.

THOSE ARE THE PRINCIPLES YOU

COULD START A DEMAGOGUERY SCHOOL

IF YOU WANTED TO.

MY SUGGESTION IS HE DID.

WHAT WE KNOW AND DIDN'T KNOW, I

TOOK IT SERIOUSLY.

>> YOU STARTED ACTUALLY WITH THE

COMMENTARIES BEFORE THE SFWLEEKS

NO, YES, WE STARTED THEM AT G.Q.

IN SEPTEMBER OF 2016.

I STARTED TRUMP PIECES FOR OTHER

>> DID YOU HAVE ANY SUSPICIONS

THAT -- THAT HE INDEED MAY WELL

BE ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE

UNITED STATES BACK WHEN YOU

FIRST STARTED DOING THIS.

>> WELL HE IS THE NOMINEE.

THUS THERE IS ALWAYS THE CHANCE

OF THE ELECTION.

IT WAS AS MANY PEOPLE SAID WITH

SARAH PALIN'S NOMINATION AS VICE

PRESIDENT IN 2008, WE BELIEVE

LOOK SHE IS GOING TO CRASH JOHN

McCAIN.

WHAT IF SHE DOESN'T.

WHAT IF SHE IS VICE PRESIDENT?

YOU MUST TAKE THAT POSSIBILITY

SERIOUSLY.

I DON'T THINK ANYBODY WOULD

ARGUE THAT HILLARY CLINTON WAS

THE GREATEST CANDIDATE OF ALL

TIMES.

SHE HAS SAID SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN

FAR BETTER IN THE JOB THAN THE

INTERVIEW.

THERE WAS A SERIES OF PERFECT

STORMS COMING TOGETHER.

THE THING I NOTICED EARLY IN

2006 THAT AS HE NEARED THE

NOMINATION EVEN LATE 2015 WE ARE

NOW STUCK IN MOST NEWS MEDIA,

PARTICULAR MRI IN TELEVISION IN

THIS THIS WELL YOU'VE GOT THREE

PEOPLE WHO SAY HE IS ABSOLUTELY

OUT OF HIS MIND AND MIGHT AS

WELL BE A FACIST DICTATOR OR

INVAEDER FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY.

THEREFORE WE HAVE TO HAVE THREE

OTHER PEOPLE ON DISAGREEING.

SOMEONE ELSE NODS GRAVELY AND

GOES TO BREAK.

WE ARE SO MARRIED ON TELEVISION

TO THE IDEA OF BALANCE AND IT'S

A FALSE GOD TO MY MIND AND THE

OBJECTIVITY IS ANOTHER FALSE GOD

THAT -- THE SYSTEM BOTH IN TERMS

OF JOURNALISM AND EVEN THE

DEMOCRACY IS NOT DSH IS NO

LONGER SHARP EDGED ENOUGH TO PUT

DOWN THE EQUIVALENT OF AN

INTERNAL REVOLUTION.

ALL THE THINGS WE THOUGHT AND

FWRU UP AND WATCHED AND KNEW

NOTHING LIKE THIS COULD HAPPEN

HERE WERE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO

WITHSTAND SOMEBODY WHO WOULD

SIMPLY SAY I'M NOT PLAYING BY

THE RULES.

BY THE WAY OFF AND ON OF THEM

ARE IN LAW.

YOU THINK THEY'RE LAW AND

THEY'RE JUST CUSTOM.

THIS IS WHAT I SAW COMING.

AND I DON'T CLAIM TO HAVE

PREDICTED HIS WIN.

BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE

CLOSER THAN MOST DID.

AND THERE WERE IN FACT

PERFECT -- ANOTHER SERIES OF

PERFECT STORMS ON ELECTION DAYNA

ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN AND THEY

WERE PERCEIVABLE.

TO ME THE BEST USE OF MY TIME

LAST YEAR WAS TO TRY TO YOU KNOW

SORT OF SAY, HEY, THIS -- TAKE

IT SERIOUSLY AND HERE IS WHAT

YOU NEED TO TAKE SERIOUSLY.

THE FIRST PIECE WE DID WAS 176

REASONS HE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN

PRESIDENT.

>> THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS

NOMINATED A PRESIDENT A MAN WHO

ATTACKED THE POPE, ATTACKED JOHN

McCAIN FOR BEING CAPTURED BY THE

NORTH VIETNAMESE.

ATTACKED GOLD STAR PARENTS AND

JUKT POSSESSED THEIR NAMES WITH

THE PHRASE RADICAL ISLAMIC

TERRORISM.

ATTACKED HILLING AS UNHINGED, AS

THE DEVIL AS THE MOST CORRUPT

CANDIDATE EVER.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS

ACTUALLY NOMINATED FOR PRESIDENT

AN ERR RESPONSIBLE, UNREALISTIC,

KNIFE, PET LANT, CHILISH WSH

PITHED.

MISOGYNISTIC AUTHORITIARIAN,

INSENSE ERR RATIONAL, INHUMAN

INDIVIDUAL.

NAMED DAWNED JOHN TRUMP.

THIS IS MADNESS.

>> WITH ALL OF THAT YOU LAID

OUT, 176 REASONS WHY HE

SHOULDN'T BE PRESIDENT, MANY OF

WHICH WOULD HAVE DITTES

QUALIFIED OTHER PEEN PEOPLE AND

WE MARVEL AT THAT AS WE LOOK

BACK ON THE ELECTION.

IF YOU CAME ACROSS A PERSON WHO

SAYS TO YOU, LOOK I WAS A TRUMP

SUPPORTER.

>> RIGHT.

>> ON A YOU KNOW WHAT EVERYTHING

YOU SAY IN THE 176 REASONS IS

ABSOLUTELY ACCURATE AND TRUE AND

CORRECT.

>> UM-HUM.

>> BUT I VOTED FOR HIM ANYWAY.

>> RIGHT SFWLA BECAUSE I DON'T

CARE ABOUT THE MAN.

I JUST CARE ABOUT WHAT HE SAID

HE WOULD DO FOR US AND LOWER

TAXES A, AND I'M A BUSINESS

PERSON.

AND I WANT TO -- DID MAYBE I'M

BIG BUSINESS I WANT TO BRING MY

MONEY BACK FROM ABROAD.

ALL THE THINGS HE TALKED ABOUT.

THAT PERSON SAYS YOU'RE RIGHT.

I DON'T CARE.

HOW DO YOU ANSWER THAT PERSON?

BECAUSE THEY'RE AROUND.

>> MY POINT TO THEM HAS ALWAYS

BEEN THE SAME.

HE HAS SOLD OUT EVERYBODY.

AT SOME POINT.

HE WILL SELL YOU OUT.

AND MANY OF THE -- I MEAN THE

REASON THAT THOSE FIRM

SUPPORTERS, VERY ENTHUSIASTIC

ABOUT HI PRESIDENCY WHY THOSE

NUMBERS TANK AND DON'T GET THE

ATTENTION OF THE FLAT

DISAPPROVAL, APPROVAL NUMBER IS

PEOPLE REALIZING I'VE BEEN

CONNED.

THAT'S WHAT HE DOES.

THAT'S THE PREMISES.

THAT'S HOW HE SUCCEEDED BECAUSE

HE CONVINCED EVERYBODY THERE IN

A MANNER THAT HASN'T BEEN SEEN I

THINK IN AMERICAN POLITICKINGS

SINCE FDR WHERE HE WAS ABLE TO

SAY YOU'RE THE ONLY PERSON I'M

TALKING IT TOP FDR DID IT WITH

FIRESIDE TRIETS WITH TWIST

TWITTER.

>> BILL CLINTON HAD A WAY OF

DOING THAT HE WOULD WALK OUT OF

THE ROOM YOU KNEW THAT YOU WALK

OUT SAYING I'M HIS NEW BEST

FRIEND.

>> SO MANY POLITICIANS GO IN A

ROOM AND YOU GO THAT'S THE OWN

PERSON IN THE ROOM THE

BRILLIANTS WILL BE ABLE TO SAY

THAT USEFUL FEEL YOU'RE THE OWN

PERSON IN THE ROOM.

BUT WITH TWITTER YOU DON'T READ

TWITTER IN A GROUP OF 25 PEOPLE

OR A CROWD.

YOU'RE READ GOING DIRECTLY.

IF I TWEET SOMETHING, SOMEBODY

READS IT AND IT'S THE

CONVERSATION BACK IS NO DID YOU

SEE WHAT KEITH OLBERMAN SAID?

IT'S ADDRESSED TO ME AS IF I'M

ONLY TALKING TO THE RECIPIENT.

HE HAS MANAGED TO USE USE AS FDR

DID DID A STATE OF THE ART

CHANGE IN MEDIA TO GET PAST THE

ESTABLISHED MEDIA WHICH WAS THE

POINT OF THE FIRESIDE CHATS

STARTED AS FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT AS

GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK TRYING TO

GET PASSED A CONSERVATIVE

LEGISLATURE AND DRUM UP SUPPORT

WITH THE AUDIENCE.

>> TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE NEW

TECHNOLOGY, THE RADIO.

>> MY POINT TO THE SUPPORTERS

IS, YEAH, THIS IS COINED OF --

THIS IS THE THING.

EVERY CONTRACT, EVERYTHING HE

EVER HAS PAID FOR HE HAS PAID 85

TO 90% OF BECAUSE HE KNOWS YOU'D

HAVE TO SUE HIM FOR THE OTHER

10% AND IT WOULD COST YOU MORE

THAN THE OTHER 10%.

MY POINT TO ALL OF THEM HAS

ALWAYS BEEN YEAH BUT IT'S

EVENTUALLY GOING TO BE YOUR

TURN.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GETTING

OUT OF THIS LONG-TERM?

AND THE POINT IS THAT THE PEOPLE

WHO ARE SUPPORTING HIM -- I MEAN

THAT THOSE IN POWER CAN BE

SUMMARIZED BY AT OPERATIVE,

POLITICKING OPERATIVE WHO WORKED

WITH HIM ON HIS CAMPAIGN

THROUGHOUT.

I WAS SITTING DO AGO PANEL

DISCUSSION ON ANOTHER TELEVISION

PROGRAM AND MY ARGUMENT -- THIS

IS SEPTEMBER OF LAST YEAR -- MY

ARGUMENT WAS HE WAS NOT STABLE

ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE

UNITED STATES.

I SAID NOT TO PUT TOO FINE A

POINT ON IT BUT I THINK HE IS

CRAZY.

WE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT THAT

MEANS AND WHAT THE DIAGNOSIS I'M

NOT A PROFESSIONAL I CAN'T TELL

YOU WHAT BUT I KNOW CRAZY WHEN I

SEE IT.

AND YOU SHOULD MEET MY FAMILY.

I KNOW ENOUGH CRAZY PEOPLE.

BUT MY POINT WAS REPEATING IN

ONE PREMISES, AT THE ENOF IT

ONCE THE CAMERAS WERE OFF THIS

GUY IN THE POLITICAL BUSINESS

FOR 60 YEARS HE TURNS TO ME BY

THE WAY YOU'RE RIGHT HE IS CRAZY

BUT HE IS GETTING US INTO POWER.

AND THAT'S AN AWFUL SFAT OF

AFFAIRS TO THE COUNTRY.

I DON'T MEAN TO MAKE LIGHT BUT

THAT'S WHY PAUL RYAN SAYS WELL

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

AND THESE CHARACTERS COMING OUT

OF THE WOODWORK TO RUN FOR

OFFICE IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE

HOSPITAL TO MAKE HOMOSEXUALITY

ILLEGAL.

IN THE PAST TIME THE MEDIA

COMPLEX WOULD ENGULF THEM LIKE

THE WHITE BLOOD CELLS GO AFTER A

GRM.

>> WHY NOT IN AND OUT WHY

DIFFERENT.

>> THE MONEY I SUSPECT IS AT THE

ROOT OF IT.

IF THAT MUCH MONEY IS REQUIRED

FOR YOU TO GET PENNSYLVANIA

HOUSE SEAT YOU'RE NOT EVER GOING

TO HAVE PEOPLE WHO CAN AFFORD IT

O TO DO IT ON THEIR OWN.

EVEN MOUA MY YOUTH PEOPLE WERE

ELECTED TO CONGRESS AND DIDN'T

SPEND 100,000 ON THE CAMPAIGN.

THAT'S NOT THE CASE ANYMORE.

WE'RE MOVING TO MULTIMILLION

DOLLARS AND WE'LL BE BEYOND THAT

SHORTLY JUST FOR A SEAT IN THE

HOUSE.

WITH THAT MUCH MONEY AND POWER

BEHIND IT COMES PERKS AND AN

INCESTANT NEED TO BE RE-ELECTED

AND CONSTANT STATE OF GETTING

THE PEOPLE MOST LIKELY TO VOTE

WHO ARE ALWAYS THE MOST

ENTHUSIASTIC, ALWAYS THE MOST

ZEALOUS.

AND THEY'RE GOING TO BE THE ONES

WHO WANT TO CHANGE LAWS AND TO

RESTRICT BEHAVIOR OR TO -- TO BE

FAIR TO BOTH SIDES.

THE PEOPLE WHO ARE LIKELIEST TO

VOTE AGAINST THE DEM A GOING

WITH ONES WITH SPECIAL INTERESTS

OF THEIR OWN.

I AGREE WITH THEM.

THAT'S WHERE WE ARE NOW.

THE PERCENTAGE OF WHO DIDN'T

VOTE, WHO DIDN'T, MOUM VOTES

TRUMP GOT.

WE'RE STILL WITH A ELECTION

WHERE THE TOTAL VOTE IS THE

MINORITY IN THE COUNTRY.

THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE THIS

DON'T MATTER, WHO VOTED LAST

NOTIFY.

>> AREN'T CONCERNED ENOUGH TO GO

TO THE LOCAL PLACE AND PULL A

LEVER.

>> EVEN THE ONES WHO DID WSH

SHALL WSH -- WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE

OF THIS IF YOU REMIND YOURSELF

YOU'RE IN A BUBBLE BECAUSE

YOU'RE POLITICALLY ACTIVE OR IN

FLIKT POLITICS OR COVERING

POLITICS.

THAT'S HEALTHY ENOUGH WHO YOU

DON'T NEGLECT PEOPLE WHO DON'T

SPEND 24 HOURS A DAY DOING IT.

BUT MOST VOTERS ARE NOT GOING TO

SEND -- NOT HAVING A MEETING

EVERY WEEK TO DECIDE WHO THEY'RE

VOTING.

THEY'RE DECIDE THAT DAY.

IF THEY DON'T ALREADY INS

TRINSICALLY KNOW.

THE ONES UNDECIDED WOULD DECIDE

THE WEEK BEFORE HAND AND SPEND

FIVE TEN MINUTES ON IT THAT'S

ALL IT IS WORTH.

BECAUSE THEY DON'T PERCEIVE IT

AS IMPORTANT.

IF THERE IS ANYTHING POSITIVE

COMING OUT OF THIS SHALL DID

SHALL I'M O I'M HOPING PEOPLE

REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS.

>> LET ME GET BACK TO THE WHAT

YOU MENTIONED BEFORE WSH THE

CHARACTERIZATION OF OF DONALD

TRUMP BEING CRAZY.

>> YES.

>> CLEARLY AS I SAID IN THE

INTRODUCTION YOU HAVE ALWAYS

BEEN PROVOCATIVE AND THOUGHTFUL

IN YOUR COMMENTS, COMMENTARIES

YOUR APPROACH TO THINGS.

I CAN SAY THAT HAVING WORKED

WITH YOU AND BEEN A GUEST ON

YOUR SHOW.

>> YES.

>> SO YOU'VE NEVER SHIED AWAY

FROM THAT.

IF YOU GENUINELY BELIEVED IT.

MY QUESTION IS THIS, YOU ARE

TALKING ABOUT THE PRESIDENT OF

THE UNITED STATES.

>> YEAH.

>> AND WE OFTEN HEAR PEOPLE SAY

ALL RIGHT I MIGHT NOT LIKE THE

OCCUPANTS BUT WE NEED TO HAVE A

CERTAIN DEGREE OF RESPECT FOR

THE OFFICE.

>> YES.

>> DOES THAT THEN IN ANY WAY

CONCERN YOU ABOUT SAYING --

YOU'RE NOT SAYING HE IS I HAD

OWE SIN KRATIC BE WITH ODE OR

QUICKIE.

>> SOMETHING CLINICAL.

>> SOMETHING CLINICAL.

>> YES IS THERE A PART OF YOU

THAT SAYS MAYBE I SHOULDN'T BE

CHARACTERIZING THE PRESIDENT OF

THE UNITED STATES LIKE THAT.

>> WELLS IT THERE IS TWO

ANSWERS.

ONE IS WE DID PUT THE STAR OVER

ONE OF THE LETTERS IN THE MIDDLE

WORD.

WE DID BACK OFF.

WE DID TONE IT DOWN A LITTLE

BIT.

NOT ALL THE COMMENTARIES HAVE

THIS -- ARE NOT PREDICATED ON

THIS.

>> RIGHT THEY'RE NOT I WANT TO

MAKE IT CLEAR TO PEOPLE IT'S NOT

ALL THAT.

BUT IT'S A LOT OF DIFFERENT

LOOKS AT DIFFERENT ISSUES.

>> ALSO, I DID ADDRESS MY

OPINION OF HIS MENTAL HEALTH AS

LONG AGO AS NOVEMBER OF 2015.

SO IT IS TO SOME DEGREE -- HE

THE ONE WHO DECIDED TO BE

PRESIDENT.

IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT THIS MAN

WHO I CALLED CRAZY IS NOW THE

CRAZY PRESIDENT AS OPPOSED TO

THE CRAZY EXTV STAR OR WHATEVER

YOU WOULD HAVE DESCRIBED HIM AS

A YEAR AND A HALF AGO.

THE ISSUE OF THE RESPECT FOR THE

OFFICE ABE PAINS ME BITTERLY

EACH TIME I HAVE TO ADDRESS IT.

BUT I -- I THINK THIS IS PART OF

THE PROBLEM.

WE HAVE -- WE ARE ALL -- ALL OF

US WHO POLITICAL NEWS

WHEREAS YOU'LL KNOW YOU AND I

BOTH WORK IN BOTH SPORTS AND

POLITICS.

IN SPORTS YOU GO TO ANY GAME AND

YOU THINK, SOMETHING WILL LIKELY

HAPPEN HERE THAT I'VE NEVER SEEN

BEFORE, EVEN IF IT'S JUST A

SEQUENCE OF EVENTS.

>> YOU ALMOST HOPE IT WILL.

>> BUT I'M READY FOR IT'S THE

TIM McCARVER BASEBALL GAME.

I'VE BEEN TO 30,000 GAMES.

ALL RIGHT FAIR ENOUGH.

IN POLITICKING IT'S THE REVERSE.

WE WANT TO NARROW EVERYTHING

DOWN BACK INTO A FORMULA WE CAN

UNDERSTAND BECAUSE WE HAVE

CERTAIN PROCEDURES AND RULES.

AND THIS IS -- WELL MAYBE THIS

IS LIKE LYNDON JOHNSON AFTER HIS

GALL BLADDER SURGERY IN 1965 OR

WHEN WOODROW WILSON HAD HIS

STROKE AND THEN DIDN'T PERCEIVE

HE HAD A STROKE.

NIECE ARE UNPRECEDENTED THINGS.

AND IF THE FORMS OF POLITICS AND

GOVERNMENT AND BEING PRESIDENT

ARE TO BE TORN DOWN BY THE

PRESIDENT, I DON'T THINK IT'S

BEHOLDEN ON THE REST OF US TO

PLAY BY THE RULES.

IF HE HAS TAKEN THE RULES AND

SAID SCREW THIS I'M DOING WHAT I

WANT, WHICH I THINK NK WHO HATES

HIM AND LOVES HIM IS A GOOD

DESCRIPTION.

SCREW THIS I'M DOING WHATEVER I

WANT.

IF THAT'S THE CASE THOSE WHO ARE

ASSESSING AND CRITICIZING AND

SUPPORTING HIM I THINK ARE

ENTITLED TO FOLLOW HIS RULES

HERE.

AND I DON'T -- I'M NOT PROUD OF

SAYING THAT I THINK THE CHT OF

THE UNITED STATES IS NOT --

IS -- HIS BRAIN DOESN'T WORK

RIGHT.

I'M NOT PROUD OF THAT I WISH IT

WEREN'T THE CASE.

BUT THE IDEA THAT I CAN'T SAY IT

BECAUSE HE IS PRESIDENT IS TO ME

A LITTLE -- IT'S SOWETO IN A

WAY.

IT'S GOD BLESS AMERICA AND IT'S

MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON.

BUT THAT'S NOT WHERE WE ARE AT

THE MOMENT.

TO ME WE'RE IN DESPERATE TROUBLE

IN THE SAME KIND OF WAY IF SOME

OTHER COUNTRY HAD INVADED AND

INSTALLED A PRESIDENT, CALLED

HIM PRESIDENT.

DO WE HAVE TO RESPECT HIM THE

WAY WE SPECULATED THE LAST

PRESIDENTS ELECTED IN?

I DON'T THINK SO.

THERE IS UNDERTONES OF THE

POSSIBILITY THAT MIGHT BE

PARTIALLY TRUE THE SCENARIO I

JUST DESCRIBED RELATED TO RUSSIA

ANYWAY.

>> WE COULD TAKE HOURS TO DO

THIS.

UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE LIMITED IN

THE SITUATION.

>> WE ALL SPEND HOURS TALKING

ABOUT IN EVERY DAY.

>> YOU AND I HAVE TO TALK MORE

Lena Dunham Thinks Jack Antonoff Is Going to Propose—But She's So, So Wrong - Duration: 2:08.

Lena Dunham Thinks Jack Antonoff Is Going to Propose—But She's So, So Wrong

Lena Dunham is no closer to becoming Mrs. In the wee hours of the morning Thursday, the creator and star of HBOs Girls revealed to her Twitter followers that shed mistakenly thought she overheard Antonoff talking about popping the question.

I thought Jack was furtively planning a proposal to me with his sister and he just admitted I actually caught him talking s--t about me! the 31-year-old actress told her 5.69 million followers.

Now I literally cant sleep cuz Im laughing too hard and I am also keeping him awake. Dont pity Dunham, though.

5.5 years, no rock and you know what? Its real nice. Dunham was able to laugh at her innocent mistake, but the idea that Antonoff would propose wasnt totally crazy.

They were huddled and I heard him say Lena and finger so obviously it seemed like an engagement ring talk, the actress told her fans.

Anyway I want Cardi Bs ring. (If Antonoff were planning a surprise proposal, today would be the day to do it.). For years, Dunham said she wouldnt get married until it was legal for everyone in the United States.

The idea of having a celebration that cant be fully shared among all the people in my life and all the people that we love just doesnt really feel like a celebration at all, she told Ellen DeGeneres in 2015.

Until thats something that everyone can join into with no sense of being left out on any level, politically, emotionally, its just not something that were gonna do. Earlier that year, Dunham joked about engagement rumors. I love my boyfriend.

Im very lucky to call him my life partner, she told E! News, but you will sooner see me pregnant with twins. The Supreme Court ruled in June 2015 to legalize same-sex marriage, but Antonoff didnt propose to Dunham on the spot.

However, the couple has talked about what their wedding day might look like. Weve always said that when we get married we want our wedding party to just be our two sisters in tuxedos.

Jack has a straight sister, I have a queer sister—theyd be our best men/women, and well call it a day, she told Pride Source last year.

November 4 Protest: Is an Antifa Civil War Happening? | CaCao TV - Duration: 7:40.

November 4 Protest: Is an Antifa Civil War Happening?

You may have been reading some pretty alarming headlines that are claiming "Antifa is starting a civil war on November 4" or "terrorist attacks beginning November 4!" These headlines are alarmist and are taking information out of context.

Yes, a group called Refuse Fascism is beginning protests on November 4 that they hope will eventually draw in millions of participants and last for a long time.

But no, this group is not part of Antifa and they are not organizing protests for the purpose of violence. They do not support acts that initiate violence.

You can read more details about the protests in Heavy's in-depth coverage here.  But let's dispel some of the most prolific rumors.

Refuse Fascism is coordinating the protests. Although they have sometimes attended protests with Antifa groups, they don't have any formal affiliation with Antifa.

Instead, they focus on nonviolent protests and only don't denounce violence if done in self defense. Here are more details:.

USC film professor Perry Hoberman, one of the people from Refuse Fascism that is coordinating the Nov. 4 protests, said that the November 4 demonstration is modeled after the January Women's March, only they hope it will last much longer.

They're hoping the protest will take place in a public location or entail a series of prolonged protests that take place over several days. Buzzfeed described Refuse Fascism this way:.

A ubiquitous presence at protests, this organization is best known for its bold black-and-white signs reading "NO! We refuse to accept a fascist America!"… Its goal is the wholesale impeachment of Donald Trump and the ousting of everyone involved with his administration.

Bob Avakian, chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA, called the ad hoc group together after the 2016 election. They're planning a nationwide Occupy-esque protest on Nov.

Sunsara Taylor, a cofounder of the group, said they have not partnered with other anti-fascist groups, nor are they actively communicating with them.

Taylor said that Refuse Fascism has been at protests with other antifa groups, but that there is "no formal alliance." Their national office is in New York, though Taylor said it was difficult to estimate the number of members.

Refuse Fascism organizes nonviolent protests in hope of attracting the greatest numbers, though Taylor said she doesn't condemn any tactics people use to protest because of what she sees as the extraordinarily fascist nature of the Trump administration.".

In other words, the group only organizes nonviolent protests. However, they also don't always actively condemn people who are violent, especially if they believe the violence was in self defense and not initiated.

In early September, the group released a statement denouncing attacks on Antifa. They stated that Antifa helped defend counter protestors in Charlottesville and there is no moral equivalence between those seeking to impose fascism and those fighting against it.

The attacks against Antifa, they stated, "are designed to intimidate, suppress, and divide all opposition to fascism.".

Given the horrific assault on Muslims, women, immigrants, LGBTQ, Black people, science, the environment, civil liberties, and people around the world by this regime, it is more important than ever that people have the right to stand up to fascism, to protest and to resist.

Differences over tactics, where they exist, must not divide the people's resistance.". Later in the statement, they reiterated that they do not support initiating violence.

Their webpage describing November 4 reads:. Our actions will reflect the values of respect for all of humanity and the world we want—in stark contrast to the hate and bigotry of the Trump/Pence fascist regime.

The purpose of November 4 is to gather in the streets and public squares, declaring the Trump/Pence regime illegitimate.

If you go to their website, you can learn more about November 4 and their plans.  Their demands are for President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence to be removed from office, and they hope that eventually, millions will join the protests.

Of course, you can never rule out the possibility of a rogue protester initiating violence at these events. But you can know that Refuse Fascism is not seeking that out or promoting violence.

They simply won't condemn violence if it's used as an act of self defense. In a statement on September 9, Refuse Fascism wrote on its website:. Refuse Fascism does not initiate violence.

We oppose violence against the people and among the people, but we uphold people's fundamental and legal right to self-defense. We welcome and actively seek to involve people who come from a great diversity of views on many big questions, including when and whether any form of violence is ever legitimate.

This is a great strength as it will take millions of people working and struggling together to stop a fascist America by driving out the Trump/Pence Fascist Regime. The efforts we undertake together consist of nonviolent political protest.

Hoberman addressed the rumors of violence this way:. Right wingers will spin anything into anything. It's just an attempt to smear anyone who isn't a fascist.".

So no, a violent civil war run by Antifa isn't being organized by Refuse Fascism on November 4. That's not a guarantee, of course, that violence might not break out if someone is intent on throwing the first punch.

But Refuse Fascism isn't seeking a Civil War. According to their websites and organizers, they are seeking a prolonged, peaceful protest.
