G'day it's Rowan here from Your Life Designed. We all have needs. Some of these

needs are the same for all of us, Abraham Maslow called these our

physiological needs and include things like food, water, sleep, excretion, oxygen;

but more interestingly most of the needs vary from person to person. Needs such as

the need to feel significant, the need to look a certain way, the need to have a

certain amount of variety in life. There's a huge amount of needs but the

ones I want to focus on in this clip are the needs for certainty, security,

safety. They all kind of come under the same umbrella it's that comfort zone

kind of need. Now I'll give you some examples, the need for safety, you

know to be a certain safe distance away from the train tracks or the

certainty of earning an income or the security of being in you know a

secure environment. Now these needs are fantastic in the

short term, but in the long term they can hold you back. So I know they've

certainly held me back and continue to hold me back while I'm working on it

I'll share my own experience. For the last 10 years I've been in the corporate world

and that has very much been, you know, go to work, work a certain number of hours

be paid for those certain a number of hours that creates a habit and that has

created a very certain feeling within myself, that you do something, you get a

result, it's like clockwork. Now heading more down the

entrepreneurial path I can see that that sort of mindset and that sort of habit

is really just holding me back because it's stifles creativity and it stifles

the open outward thinking that is needed for entrepreneurialism, and also the

thinking about the flow of money in life you know with entrepreneurial or

owning your own business it's not that certain process of work pay work

pay, it's quite different so it's something that I'm having to work on and

I really just wanted to share this clip to build some awareness and to possibly

get you thinking are there any aspects of your life where you have some beliefs

or you have some habits surrounded by that safety security mindset. If so

my only word of advice is to question it to death. Is it is it true? Is it

necessary? Is it holding you back? And is it something that you can change? I hope

included: Bernie Sanders.

It may not be the nomination he wanted, but at this point, he has few other prospects.

Everyone's favorite elderly socialist earned a Grammy nomination in the spoken word category

for his narration of his audiobook "Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In."

Sanders winning a Grammy would likely make up for the whole "having the nomination

stolen by Hillary" thing.

Maybe.

It's not out of the ordinary for politicians to be nominated for Grammys for narrating

their books – as long as they are Democrats or liberals.

Over the years, dozens of political notables have earned Grammy nominations.

Barack Obama has won two Grammys for his book narration.

So has Jimmy Carter.

Bill Clinton has a Grammy, as does his wife Hillary.

Al Franken and Jesse Jackson each has one.

Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart each have one for their political audiobooks.

Elizabeth Warren, Rachel Maddow, and Bill Maher have each been nominated.

In the past forty years, however, only one Republican has ever been nominated.

Richard Nixon was nominated in 1979 alongside David Frost for the album version of the Frost/Nixon

interviews.

Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has earned a spot in the entertainment industry's awards season:

He was nominated for a Grammy on Tuesday, a first for the 2016 presidential candidate.

Sanders was nominated in the spoken word category for the audio book version of "Our Revolution:

A Future to Believe In," along with actor Mark Ruffalo.

The book was published just after the presidential election.

They face some major competition: Also nominated in the category were Neil Degrasse Tyson for

"Astrophysics for People in a Hurry," Bruce Springsteen for "Born to Run," Shelly

Peiken for "Confessions of a Serial Songwriter," and Carrie Fisher for "The Princess Diarist."

The category has a long history of recognizing political figures: Jimmy Carter won a Grammy

in 2016 for the audio book version of "A Full Life: Reflections at Ninety."

He also won in 2007 for his book "Our Endangered Values."

Barack Obama won the Grammy in 2006 for "Dreams From My Father" and in 2008 for "The Audacity

of Hope."

Bill Clinton received the honor in 2005 for "My Life."

Hillary Clinton, who defeated Sanders to win the Democratic nomination, earned a Grammy

which she recorded when she was first lady.

The award dates to the 1950s.

A spokesman for Sanders did not immediately return a request for comment.

Sanders recorded an album, "We Shall Overcome," that was released in 1987 and re-released
