Why January move for Philippe Coutinho makes no sense for Liverpool or Barcelona

Talk of Philippe Coutinho's future has again reared its ugly head, but a January transfer benefits neither Liverpool or Barcelona.

We are just a few days into 2018, and the Coutinho rumours have already reached unbearable levels of boredom.

Various reports claim Barcelona are preparing a bid of €150 million for the Brazilian, and there are also suggestions the 25-year-old believes he has played his last game for Liverpool.

Only a fool would think Coutinho will see out the remainder of his career at Anfield, and a summer move to Camp Nou would be completely understandable.

Any talk of him joining the Catalan giants this month makes no sense, though, with Barcelona, Liverpool and potentially even the player himself not profiting.

Why Sell Coutinho Now?.

Coutinho has been sensational for Liverpool this season, taking his game to another level and not sulking, having failed to seal a move last summer.

He has tallied 12 goals and nine assists in just 20 appearances—a fair share of those strikes have been spectacular—and he has shone in both a deeper midfield role and on the left-hand side.

Selling him now would impact negatively on Liverpool for so many reasons.

Should Coutinho remain on this current trajectory, which has taken to him a world-class level, his price tag may only rise further.

That will apply even more if he shines at this summer's World Cup in Russia.

Further agitation for a move could threaten his place in the Liverpool side under Jurgen Klopp, who has proved in the past he is prepared to drop key players for the sake of squad harmony.

Does he really want to risk not featuring for the rest of the season in a World Cup year, when his place in Brazil's starting lineup depends on it?.

Of course, Liverpool do not want to be isolating one of their star men, with a hugely important four months of football on the horizon.

The top-four battle is going to go right to the wire, and there is a chance of mounting a special run in the Champions League should key players stay fit.

Allowing Coutinho to leave would, therefore, be negligent in the extreme, and seriously hinder Liverpool's chances of a blistering second half to 2017/18.

As for Barcelona, bringing in their first-choice signing before the summer is not going to be a game-changing moment for them.

Ernesto Valverde's side are already nine points clear at the top of the La Liga, and much like the Premier League, the title race is effectively over.

On top of that, Coutinho would not be able to represent the Blaugrana in the Champions League, having already featured for Liverpool this season.

Granted, he wouldn't be complaining, but would he start regularly ahead of the World Cup and remain in this current form as he adjusts to life at a new club?.

Agree a Summer Deal.

The most logical next step for both clubs and Coutinho is to strike a deal this month which will see him move to Catalonia in the summer.

Liverpool did it with RB Leipzig last year, agreeing a transfer for Naby Keita ahead of next season, and in the past the exits of Kevin Keegan and Ian Rush, to Hamburg and Juventus respectively, were conducted in a similar manner.

This will allow the whole circus surrounding the move to die down for the rest of the season, and a happy Coutinho can concentrate on his football, safe in the knowledge that his dream move is secured.

Supporters shouldn't take issue with him for wanting to join such a prestigious club—one that South Americans idolise—but his recent conduct will tarnish his legacy on Merseyside.

Fernando Torres suffered in a similar manner following his controversial move to Chelsea—Liverpool supporters don't forget.

There will be hell to pay if the club let Coutinho move on before January 31, regardless of the fee offered or the personnel that may come in and replace him.

Stay until the summer, guide the Reds to a top-four finish and Champions Leagueglory, win the World Cup and move to Barca.

That would be job done for Coutinho, and it would clearly benefit all parties.

KederTape - Peal and Stick Keder Application Guide for SEG signs - Duration: 4:39.

Banner Ups KederTape is perfect for making beautiful silicone edge graphic

signs also known as SEG signs without having to sew. Here we show you two

methods. The single fold method and the fold-over method. The single fold method.

Measure the outer edge of the SEG frame. This is the image live area. Rough cut to

the fabric graphic about a half inch larger than the live area on all sides.

The fit will vary based on the size of the sign type of media and desired

tension. Measure and cut the KederTape about a quarter inch shorter than the

length and width of the keder frame size .This will lead extra space allowing

for the fabric to fold into the SEG frame. Peel the liner and lightly press

KederTape on the back of your graphic with the inner edge of the KederTape

on the outer edge of the SEG live graphic dimensions. At first don't press

too hard, this will allow you to adjust the KederTape if needed. Test the

sizing in the frame.

Adjust KederTape position if needed inward will make the face tighter

outward will make it looser. Once you have the perfect fit trim off excess

fabric along the edges and at corners. Then firmly press cutter tape your SEG

graphic is ready for installation. The fold-over method allows extra tight

installation and works on hardest stick to fabric and protects the frame from

adhesive buildup. The fold-over method requires a small amount of extra fabric

but ensures a super strong bond especially with hard to stick to fabrics

and when very tight installation is desired.

This method completely encases the KederTape so it's locked into place

and protects the frame from adhesive buildup. Measure the outer edge of the

SEG frame this is the image live area. Rough cut to the fabric graphic about

one inch larger than the live area on all sides. The fit will vary based on the

size of the sign type of media and desired tension. Measure and cut cutter

tape about a quarter inch shorter than the length and width of the keder frame

size. This will leave extra space allowing for the fabric to fold into the

SEG frame. Place keder tape along a line about 1/2 to 5/8 inch outside the

live graphic area pressing lightly at first to allow for re positioning. Make a

u-shaped cut to remove excess fabric from the corners. Fold edges so the

fabric completely encases the KederTape and test fit it into the SEG

frame. Reposition the KederTape if needed.

Remember inward is tighter outward is looser. Once you have the perfect fit firmly

press KederTape. Your graphic is now ready to install

It's easy to make beautiful no-sew seg signs using Banner Ups KederTape. Tips

& Tricks When installing on site we recommend that you begin at an upper

corner then install the apposing lower corner. Press the top edge inside

followed by the bottom edge inside working toward the remaining two corners.

To create sharp corners and edges use a nail file or a pair of scissors to tuck

the fabric securely into the frame. If you have too much keder left at the

corner when installing simply peel back and trim excess with scissors. To apply

KederTape begin by taping the fabric to your work table at both ends to add

stability. Next measure mark and cut the cutter tape and position it along the

edge. Peel off an inch or two of the liner and press lightly in place. A

safety ruler is the perfect tool to stabilize the KederTape and fabric. Put

the ruler in position and press down firmly on the ruler to create a guide as

you peel the liner and lightly press the KederTape down. When shipping SEG

graphics we recommend rolling on a core with protective tissue roll. With the

graphic side out. You can download our instructional guide by visiting

Defining Success for Yourself - 5 Steps To Your OWN Life - Duration: 19:18.

Defining success...

What is success anyway?

What does it look like?

What does it mean?

How do we get there?

You know we ask ourselves that question when we're searching for the answer to why is

my life a mess?

Why have I failed at life?

You know maybe if you're like me and you woke up one day and you're like, uhm how

did I get here?

Like I did not sign up for this, I made great decisions, I thought I was achieving goals,

to make me successful, make me happy and here I am.

And I am not happy.

Raise your hand cause that was me for fifteen years.

The thing is, success is really defined by you.

It's not a cut and dry one thing for everybody.

Everybody needs to follow their own path for success because once you end up at a spot

that someone else has told you to go, you're like how did I get here?

This is not for me.

Think about going on vacation.

Somebody says hey you should go to XYZ hotel and then, so when you get there you're like,

well, this sucks!

Because everybody has their own perspective and different desires, different priorities,

and that's the same with success.

So if that sounds like you, if you felt like you have failed at life, at one point in time

or maybe you're just not happy of where you are this video is for you.

If you're new here, if we haven't met yet, my name is Erin Cook and I teach incredibly

busy people just like you how to be happy and feel freedom and joy again by simplifying

their daily activities and their lives.

And that's what I'm gonna do tonight and one of the most important things I do is to

help people redefine success based on their terms, not on somebody else's.

And also achieve that success as well in order to be happy cause that's what it's really

all about, right?

So here is my 5-step process going about this on how we define success.

And if you haven't already, subscribe to my channel.

We do weekly trainings like this just for you to make your life easier, to make your

life more simpler and to make your life more fun and enjoyable.

So go ahead and subscribe right here and I want you to stay tuned.

So let me take you back when I was in College back in 1995 I started College.

My first couple weeks, I absolutely hated it.

The reason why is because I was going to be a physical therapist.

Now I came from high school where the girls told me I would be nothing, I was too ugly,

too yucky or whatever.

You know so I really had low self-confidence.

I was gonna become a physical therapist because that's what my boyfriend was gonna do.

Right?

I couldn't think for myself back then.

Ugh, I was a mess.

Okay?

So the thing was I really inside wanted something to do with music or theatre.

But do you think people said, oh that's great, go for it when I told them that?

Nah, come on!

It was what are you gonna do in that area?

You can't make any money.

Right?

Can't make any money?

Ugh, if I had only known.

So I went back to school to be a physical therapist and right away I knew that I would

hate every minute of it and I would love physical therapy no matter what I'd get.

But guess what, what stuck in my head was people's reactions.

What would they say if they found out that I was switching majors and going to be something

in music or theatre major?

They wouldn't be as excited right?

So I didn't feel like I would be successful if I did that and that's what I was longing

for.

I wanted to be successful because my whole high school career I never did felt that way.

It didn't matter if I had good grades, that I had a wonderful family I didn't feel successful

and that's what I was searching for.

And I was doing that by trying to be something that I wasn't.

So guess what?

I stuck with it.

I hated every minute of it but I became a physical therapist four years later.

I chose to do it in four years instead of five because I wanted to impress people more.

Okay, it was the four to five year program and I chose the four-year track.

Completely, just piled on top of me the stress of being a physical therapist.

So fast forward 9 years later.

I lost my daughter.

She passed away shortly after birth.

And that's when I started evaluating everything in my life.

I mean I evaluated my work, my family, my house, where I'd lived, what city I lived

in, what I could change everything in my life because that's when crap hits the fan right?

It's when you go through a tragedy.

And that's exactly what I did.

I said, okay can I change this because guess what my life is not where I want it to be

and it's gonna stop right now.

Have you ever had that moment when you say you know what?

Enough is enough.

I cannot live like this!

And maybe you're having that moment now and it was what brought you to this video.

But it was enough is enough for me.

And that's when I started figuring things out okay?

It was a long process for me and that's why I wanna share my answers with you.

I didn't know exactly what to do.

All I knew is that I needed to change.

So success, is different for everybody, right?

If we think about a roadmap and say that one person says they want to go to California

because that's their way to success.

They're gonna take a different road than you to California if California is success

okay.

Visualize with me, you know what I mean?

If somebody's from New York they're not gonna take the same roads and the same map

with somebody from Florida.

You're coming from two different places, two different paths, you're gonna take two

different paths to that success.

That's what you need to figure out okay.

In order to get success you need to know what it is first.

And that's what we're gonna do today and then you can figure out how to get there.

So grab a pen and paper, that's the best way to learn this, if you don't write things

down, you won't remember it and you won't to action.

So grab a pen and paper right now, put me on pause and do that.

The first thing that I want you to write down are your VALUES, your MORALS, and most importantly

your PRIORITIES IN LIFE.

What do you put an emphasis on in life?

When you die, what do you want to be remembered for?

Do you wanna be remembered as the person that had a fancy house?

Or do you wanna be remembered as the person who helped other people?

Do you wanna be remembered for being honest?

For teaching your children how to work hard?

For teaching others about God?

What is it that's a priority in your life that matters and that you want to be non-negotiable

about?

Meaning you don't want to cave under pressure and sacrifice any of those things.

What are your non-sacrificial points in your life?

Priorities, morals, values, all that stuff that's important to you if you're hardworking

put that down.

If that's a priority, you want to be hardworking.

Alright so these are things that we will reference later so you need to write these things down.

So that's number one, PRIORITIES, VALUES and MORALS.

Point number two, what have you done in your past, or maybe what are you doing right now

that you feel like hmm you know what?

If I achieved this or maybe I achieved it in the past I don't think it's really

gonna make me happy or make me feel successful in life.

Can you think of something that is like that?

Mine was physical therapy but I've also done a ton of other things.

You know I've said yes to being a leader of something just because I thought it would

make me feel more important and have people look at me differently.

What have you been doing or trying to achieve?

Maybe you're just trying to go you know you see people going like this in the mirror

on their facebook and posting on pictures of their big muscles and you're like, man

I wish I look like that!

I'm gonna make that a goal in life.

Is that gonna make you happy?

Is that gonna make you successful?

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that.

But some people do things just because some other people are doing them.

They feel like they should be doing them too to be successful.

Okay, you see what I mean?

So think about anything in your past that you want to acknowledge, which is good, it's

good it's one of the points of this exercise, and anything that you might be doing now that

you're thinking hmm kinda doesn't jive with my priorities.

Okay, so I want you to write that down in step number two.

Alright, step number three, I want you and this is the fun part, to figure out all the

activities that you have to do if you had a dream day.

Just a day for you to do whatever it is you wanted, whatever made you happy and valued

those priorities that you wrote down.

So would it be that you were sleeping till 8 o'clock if you had kids?

Would you go to the gym?

Would you join that exercise group that you wanted to join that maybe you haven't had

time to?

Would you want to coach soccer?

Would you want to spend a day with your kids without your phone?

Like what would that day look like to you?

That would be one of mine.

Throw away my phone for a while that would be awesome.

You know it's just a dream day because it will say a lot about what it is that actually

fulfills you, that makes you happy, okay?

Now I don't want you to consider material things.

I don't want you to say I would go on a shopping spree.

I would you know spend a million dollars on a mansion.

You know not material things.

These are activities, fun things that you would do if you had a chance to do them okay.

So step number four, I want you to write down the reasons that you can think of that you

do things that you probably don't need to be doing, like saying yes to maybe like say

you don't want to be a soccer coach but you've done it for ten years.

Write down the reason that you're scared to leave if it's not making you happy.

Okay, so I want you to think of the things that you don't like doing, see if they kind

of defeat your priorities that you wrote down in step number one, and then tell me the reasons

why you choose to do them.

Is it a confidence issue?

Is it something where you don't wanna disappoint somebody where you think they're gonna think

bad of you or tell other people how awful it is that you didn't do this to me.

Do you genuinely not want people and to stress about something?

Why is it that you do the things you do?

I want you to write those reasons down and really start to work on them.

We're gonna get to that in a minute but going through these four steps brings you

to step number five.

So that's why I want you to write all these things down.

So if you haven't done it yet put me on pause and do it.

Alright, step number five is where we're gonna physically write out the steps that

we just did but in an actionable plan okay?

This is something that you wanna reference.

I would love for you to do it every single day but something that you can reference and

say you know what?

I feel so off-track again what is it that I should be doing and I shouldn't be doing?

And you're gonna check it and that's what you're gonna write down right now.

Okay this is your definition for success for you.

Alright and it's these 5 simple paragraphs and I say paragraphs not like essay paragraphs,

it's just a few sentences okay?

So here's number one and I want you to write this out, and again we're at step number

5.

So first sentence and I'm gonna read it to you write this down.

It's important that the decisions I make allow X, Y, Z to happen.

Now your XYZ are your values, are your morals, so if your values are family time.

You have to make sure that the decisions you're making are not gonna sacrifice family time.

If it's church, you're gonna make sure that soccer practice that's scheduled on

Sunday you're kid's not going to okay and you're gonna tell the coach this is

non-negotiable, my kid's going to church on Sunday.

That's not gonna be soccer practice.

To some that's gonna be like oh you can't do that, your kid's not gonna play and that's

disappointing to the team and you know what?

Find a different league to play in or a different whatever team to be on if it's gonna mess

up your schedule because that's a non-negotiable.

The more you miss church because your kid had soccer or game, the more frustrated you're

gonna feel.

And I know a lot of people are not gonna like this but it's true right?

If something is constantly barging in on what's important to you you're gonna feel ticked

off and you're gonna feel unhappy about it and that's where this all comes down

to play.

So go ahead and write down one more time in a sentence, it is important that the decisions

I make allow X, Y, Z to happen.

So you're gonna fill in the rest of those paragraphs or you can just list again the

things that are important to you.

But I want you to reference this whenever you take on a new activity or whenever you

feel like your life is just chaos.

Alright so that's the first sentence that you're gonna write.

Paragraph two.

In the future I will avoid any activity or goals that waste time or energy even at the

risk of disappointing others, if it does not align with my priorities.

Okay, so that's again talking about taking things on that don't fit in with your priorities

okay.

And this is just a sentence but just say it's okay.

You know it's okay to say no to these types of things.

It's okay for me to follow my path and not do what others expect of me.

Now that means that if you make a promise with somebody I don't want you to break

without speaking to them but you know really think about this for a minute because if you

continue to allow things that invade whatever it is that's important to you, it's gonna

make you feel unsuccessful in life.

Unhappy.

Okay so again we're reinforcing that it's okay to do this and that's gonna be something

that you're gonna reference to.

You don't have to make a whole paragraph about that but you wanna let yourself know

and remind yourself it is okay to say no to the things that you don't want to do that

don't fit in to your definition of success.

Number three.

I will feel good about focusing more time on blank, fill in the blank, because this

activity or activities fulfill me and fulfill my priorities.

Alright so what that means is let's say that you feel guilty because your job takes

away from your family.

Okay?

I have four kids and a husband and three businesses but guess what on the flip side, I get to

work from home.

And who's at my home?

My kids and my family, right?

So I'm a recovering workaholic, I know that about myself, I love what I do.

Sometimes I do more than what I should and that sacrifices my priority list, remember

number one was our priorities.

That sacrifices that family time.

So what this paragraph is saying, that it's okay to say no to the money like me I work

harder so that I can give the life that my kids that I want them to have and I will be

able to stay home, and make more money from home, than having to go back out and work

and force this being a physical therapist because I'm no longer one.

Right?

It took me 15 years to quit that.

But if you can let yourself know that it's okay to spend time doing things that may not

further what other people's success definition is.

Right?

So if somebody says oh what are you doing tonight?

Are you just watching TV?

Oh yeah that'll get you far in life.

Okay you're not gonna mind that.

They don't have any right to tell you that.

If you say, you know what my kids love movie nights and you're gonna do that once a week

instead of coaching soccer, by all means do it!

Because that's your priority.

Okay?

So I know this sounds harsh to some people.

But that's what we need to do.

We need to stick to our priority.

And you can see how success is defined by that but that's why you have to go through

that priority list and those values and those morals to be successful and feel happy again.

Number four, I will begin to cut out these activities from my life that don't align

with what I feel is important.

And this is just what?

The list of things that you need to cut.

Cut soccer, cut whatever.

Make a list and it may only be a couple things but it can make a huge difference in the way

that you feel, the time that you spend doing what it is that you want to do with your life.

Okay so number four is just a list but you're gonna reference this because if you're just

gonna think in your head right now and you're not gonna write it down, it ain't gonna

happen.

Okay I want this to happen for you so you have to write it down.

Last but not least is number five, writing out your goals.

Okay so listen to this.

I will begin working toward the following goals that will define my success not the

definition others set for it.

Okay this is where you're gonna say you know what?

Here's my list of sentences that I wrote and these are the things that I need to work

on.

Lastly I'm gonna set those goals.

So by October 4th I'm gonna say, can't coach soccer anymore.

By this date, I am staying with my kids 10 more hours a week or whatever it is.

Okay set those goals in sentence number 5 or paragraph number 5, and then look at them,

work toward them.

This paper is not gonna do you any good if you don't look at it right?

You have to create your plan and that's where these goals come in.

The different hotel stays that you have on your way to California which is success if

you think back to our visual.

It really is something that you need to do.

You need to think about life.

We can sit there we can think about our problems right?

We can think that's so easy for us to do right?

We can say oh my life I can't pay the bills.

Oh my life, my house is too small.

I'm involved in too many things I work from home, I work too hard, I'm not paid enough.

Yada yada yada.

It's easy to think about those things but it's not easy to sit down and make a plan

on how to change it.

Right?

Why?

Because we don't always know how to do that.

As much as we may want to do that it's not easy.

And that's why I encourage you to define your success on your terms, through this method.

And if you are still one of those people who say you know what Erin, that's great but

I don't have time to do that.

Ain't nobody got time for it, okay?

That's where I actually want you to head to my course where I teach you how to find

free time to work on whatever it is you need to work on.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018 under fire for lack of diversity in all-female line-up - Duration: 3:05.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018 under fire for lack of diversity in all-female line-up

Unless youve been binging Black Mirror on Netflix like 90% on the internet, youll know that Celebrity Big Brother returned to Channel 5 with a special all-female line-up.

However, despite the shows feminist ambition to honour 100 years of womens right to vote, the series has come under fire for a lack of racial diversity.

The current line-up features a predominantly white line-up, with former MP Ann Widdecombe, ex-Corrie actress Amanda Barrie, Made in Chelsea star Ashley James, and newsreader India Willoughby.

Theres also reality TV favourite Jessica Impiazzi, former police officer Maggie Oliver and journalist Rachel Johnson.

Kardashian befriender and reality star Malika Haqq is the only black contestant, although the show has revealed that former footballer John Barnes will also enter the house at a later date, along with around six other unconfirmed male celebrities.

Taking to Twitter to express their frustrations, fans praised the all-female line-up, but thought much more still could have been done.

Nevertheless, some fans felt the show had done well by including an LGBTQ contestant in the form of transgender newsreader India.

CBB has also confused some viewers with its plans to bring male celebrity contestants into the house during a series which has been heavily promoted all-female.

Meanwhile, Channel 5 has denied rumours that Ashley smuggled books into her house. The rumours were sparked as the social media star referenced them during the launch show, before cameras quickly cut away.

Plus, Ann accidentally let slip how many men will be entering the house during her opening video.

Head this way to see the full rumoured line-up for the show along with the likes of Love Islands Jonny Mitchell and human Ken doll Rodrigo Alves.

The Kop club want Barcelona to pay £134m in total to grant rant the 25-year-old Brazilian's wish and let him go to the Nou Camp.

If boss Jurgen Klopp has his way, that will not be until the summer, by which time he will have sorted Coutinho's replacement with Schalke's Leon Goretzka his No 1 target.

Goretzka, 22, will be a free agent at the end of the season and has already hinted he wants to work with his fellow German at Anfield.

The midfielder is also wanted by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich but reports of a deal already being done have been dismissed by Goretzkas agent.

Liverpool are expecting a new, formal offer any day from Barca while Coutinho's people are in constant discussions with the Catalan giants.

Jurgen Klopp is ready to let Philippe Coutinho leave Liverpool for Barcelona.

Philippe Coutinho is currently out injured and may have played his last game for Liverpool.

Meanwhile, New Year's Day hero Ragnar Klavan has welcomed the arrival of £75m Virgil van Dijk — even though it could cost him his place at Anfield.

Klavan, who scored the winner at Burnley, said: He is a good addition to our team.

It is like it is for everyone: there is competition and competition is good for all places.

Kop development coach Pep Lijnders has quit to become head coach of NEC Nijmegen.

Emotion control for kids | Managing emotions with self regulation strategies - Duration: 7:05.

Hi. My name is Siope and I'm the Director of Smarter Parenting. Today I

wanted to talk to you about helping children learn to control their emotions.

Largely using a very specific technique. Now, I was working with a family with an

11-year-old boy and he had a hard time controlling his temper. He was fairly

explosive. His parents would ask him to do something and he would react. He would

punch holes into walls. He would throw things, yell, run out of the house. And

after working with this family for a while, we focused a lot of attention

on the parents and how they can interact with their son in a more positive way.

But with the young man he also needed help and so I introduced this idea, this

concept to him to help him monitor his own responses. His own physiological

responses when things happen. Now it's a fairly simple technique and it's

something that anyone can do. I purchased something called a pulse oximeter. Now

you can buy one of these at your local drugstore for around twenty to thirty

dollars. You don't have to get something that's super expensive, but a pulse

oximeter is something that you would find at a hospital. So you stick it on

your finger and it will tell you what your heartbeat is and also oxygen levels.

And by doing this we were able to monitor how he was responding to

different stimuli within the home. So, initially in talking to the

boy we made it a game and I put it on him. And we tried to determine first off

his baseline. What is his resting heart rate. And we did this by having him sit

down in a calm state, putting it on his finger and we were able to watch the

number fluctuate, either one up or one down and he was able to get a baseline

so we took note of that. Then I gave him a challenge. To actually try and reduce

that number. So reduce his heart rate and offered suggestions on how to do that. So

he could start to deep breathe. You know take

deep breaths and calm down. Relax his muscles. And he was able to bring it down

actually five more points than where it was when he was resting and we logged

that down. Okay, and so we were able to recognize from there two points where

he's calm and he's able to deal with things. What we did then, after that, is I

met with the parents and with him, and he kept the pulse oximeter on him and as we

started to discuss some of the issues in the home. And what we were watching for

is to see if it started to elevate his heart rate. And as it started to escalate

while we started to talk about issues in the home, we took a break and had him

bring it back down. Now this is a powerful technique especially for

children because they're able to recognize they

have control. They have some element of control and they're able to work through

things. So while we were working through this whole process with his family it

was pretty-pretty powerful for them to see and to recognize that yeah, we don't

need to lay out our whole agenda to the child at this time. We can actually work

with him so we'll talk about difficult topic and then we'll evaluate how well

he's doing and then bring his heart rate back down. And then talk again about

difficult topic, see it elevate, and then bring it back down. And it's almost this

dance between the parent and the child and that's completely appropriate. Now

for parents who think that they just should be able to lay down the law and

the kids need to suck it up, you know that's a great thing if you don't want a

relationship with your child. But, if you want a relationship with your child that's

long-term. That's resilient. That will last for for a long time, You want to be

able to recognize that as your child grows you're going to negotiate that

relationship. It changes. It's not going to be, "I say," or "the highway." It's going to

be, "Okay, I'm in control while you're young. As you get a little bit older

you're gonna have a little more independence. I recognize that. I'm still

the parent. I'm gonna lay the rules. You need to abide by those within your

independence and then continue to grow." So with this child it's been interesting

to watch him over the progress because I worked with him when he was 11 years old

and at 15 he was still using this technique. Okay. We first implemented

this technique inside the home, just with the parents. And then we actually

implemented it over to the school. Where I met with the school. Talked with the

teacher and said he's going to be carrying a pulse oximeter. Which he

just wore it around his neck it was on a lanyard. And every hour in school he

would just check and he could do this on his own silently and he would write down

what the number was and that way we could monitor there as well and see

where he would escalate. He was able to monitor and bring down his heart rate

but he continued to use it largely because, for him, it was a good way for

him to feel like in control of what was happening around him. And also to

recognize what things were setting him off and making him anxious, or angry, or

upset. When once you're able to do that, and he's able to recognize he can bring

things to different level, that opens up the floodgates to a whole bunch of other

options that he can implement in order to control his temper and his reaction

to things. So it's super super important for parents to, you know, look for

techniques at work. This is one that I've used, actually often, with families to

help them with children, and it it's a game for some of these kids and for

families. One recommendation I do have though is that the parents also use a

pulse oximeter. They can do that too. So you can use it during a family meeting.

You can monitor where you become upset and then try and deescalate from there.

Everybody takes a timeout to kind of calm them down then you come back and

address the issues. Now pulse oximeter, of course you can buy one in your drugstore,

you can also download apps. They're available. They're not as effective. Also

if you wear a Fitbit, or if you wear an Apple watch, or any of those watches, also

do the same thing they measure your heart rate. You can use any of those.

However, I prefer to use one that is from the drugstore, you know around $20,

largely because I don't want to give a child

an expensive electronic thing. Because who knows when their explosive, who knows

what they'll do with it. So it's better to start off with something that you

know you can replace. It's a little bit easier to use. So those are, that's a suggestion

that you can use as a parent with your child to help your child who may be

having a problem de-escalating or learning to control their temper or

their anxiety.

PLANS FOR 2018 - Duration: 3:49.

before we get this video started I just wanted to say

It's 2018, its a new year

and that means new year's resolutions now my new year's resolution is to be

more organized especially with my camera gear and I'll show you what I mean to

give you an example of Who I am as a person if if I do my laundry which is

rare if I do my laundry by myself without any help and... that's dumb, anyways

if I do my laundry and I get all the clean clothes

I don't fold them and put them away I put them in a big pile on the floor and

then I pick through them and I see what I want

(deep synth and bass music)

Unfortunately I do the same exact

thing with my footage I take hours of footage put it all on this monster

harddrive and then I just kind of pick through it and I see what I like what I

don't like without any plan for the day without any plan for the video and I'll

just come up with a movie but it just takes forever so the plan today is to

draw up an actual plan an actual video plot and plan and story we'll see if

this works hopefully the plans pan out and if not I know not to waste any more

paper in ink

Let's got outside

so we're outside and headed to the river

bye house

So according to my plan here

I'm supposed to do a time-lapse of the clouds and then

time-lapse of the river from there to there do some drone shots so I'll do

that right now

check this out it's like four feet deep and I don't want to get stuck in it so

I'm going to lower the camera upside down let's see if I can get a picture like that

I'm cold a little wet I'm hungry. What did I get done in my plan? This one, check.

I can't I can't do this here else I'll do it at home all right so we're back at

Alright so, we're back at the house

the house we have our plans here got the plan pretty much finished

Got this one done. Yeah maybe got that. There we go got that. Got that. did get that I did not do that.

we'll see if it actually helps in editing everything this is how I'm

(Awkward yelp)

This is how I'm lighting myself.

I've got these drapes here whatever they're called blinds and

then I've got a sad light behind them I pull it down it diffuses the light and

voila so I had no idea that I had pieces of chocolate chip cookie on my face for

the majority of this video overall the plan worked it was a short video just to

see if it helped and it did help a lot and I'll employ it on my longer videos

And if you liked this or my other videos

Like and subscribe, that would be awesome

if not that's okay too Thanks

AO Annual Meetings: A great opportunity for dental residents - Duration: 0:40.

I'm a perio resident at Nova (Southeastern University).

A big part of periodontology now is implant dentistry.

AO's Annual Meeting in San Diego was phenomenal. I've always heard good things about AO's meetings.

With Orlando being just down the road from me, it was a good opportunity

to learn more about implant dentistry.

The meeting always has exceptional speakers.

A bunch of co-residents of mine are presenting e-posters

on various subjects from one abutment one time to big GBR's, to augmentations.

It's been a great experience and

I'm looking forward to watching all of my residents present.

I'm coming as a guest this year.

Next year I will be a member and will attend this event again.

Devin And Jen Swap Clothes For A Day • Ladylike - Duration: 11:05.

- Hey, guys.

Uh, hey.

Cool, yeah, I'm here.

What?

A few weeks ago Chantel and Freddie swapped styles

and morning routines for a day,

and it was very silly, and very cute.

- I cannot.

(laughing)

- And I think they both learned

a little something along the way.

- So we thought, what the hell?

We'll do it with Jen and I.

- We are gonna swap styles and morning routines,

and see how the results turned out.

- My mornings are comprehensive.

I wake up early, I'm a morning person.

I like to work out in the morning.

I have two cats I have to take care of in the mornings,

they sing to me, they scream at me.

- I get up in the morning, obviously,

I go to the bathroom,

I brush my teeth,

and then I just wash my face with water.

I use face wash in my showers at night,

and then I go back into my room,

and I have a little vanity.

So once I put my eye cream on,

then I put primer on,

and then I do my eye makeup,

and then once my moisturizer is on and applied,

I put a layer of sunscreen on,

and then after my sunscreen,

that's when I put my foundation on.

- I have a very extensive Korean skin care beauty routine

that I follow.

I meditate in the morning.

I listen to NPR in the morning,

and then after I'm done with all of

that I wake up my boyfriend,

and then I go to work,

and I think I'm gonna have Jen call Pat

at some point in the morning to wake him up.

- Once my makeup and face is done,

I just put gel in my hands,

I slap 'em together,

I run my hair this way,

that takes like two minutes.

I think because my hair routine in so simple,

and my getting dressed is so simple,

that people think I just wake up,

and I just fuckin' slap myself,

and hit my own ass, and then I'm good.

No, there's actually a process.

- We have very different morning routines.

What we do have similar is our style.

- I feel like I'm not

the most fashion conscious person necessarily.

I think I'm put together a little bit.

I love just like graphic tees and t-shirts.

- I like to be comfortable.

I like to wear things where I can drop

into a split at a moment's notice,

and I would be fine.

My biggest thing right now is my favorite thing

to wear are high waisted pants

that have a tapered leg,

and then a crop top,

and then I love choker necklaces.

When it comes to my style,

it would be a choker necklace.

I think Jen has a very easy going style.

I think it's going to feel like weekend wear Devin.

- Her style's kind of similar to mine sometimes.

- I wanna give Jen something that she's comfortable in,

so I'm not gonna give her crop tops,

I'm not gonna give her a dress or a skirt.

I'm gonna give her things that I think she

would turn around and wear again.

I want her to be excited when she sees what I have for her.

- Devin's very chill outwardly,

but then she cares very hard

about the things she cares about.

- This was Monday night at 8:14 p.m.

I go,

She texts back four minutes later.

Jen, I asked you what size shoe you wear.

I go,

She goes,

and doesn't answer back for five minutes,

and then she answers,

and that's just Jen in a nutshell.

Let's just do it.

Come on, Jen,

let's dress each other.

All right, it's time to hit Jen with my morning routine.

- Yeah, I can do this,

this is great.

I am a professional adult,

and I am able to accomplish ever task I set my mind to.

So you know what,

I'm not even worried.

I hate showering in the morning too,

and I also don't like exercising,

and I don't have a pet,

but it's cool.

It's one day.

If I can't do this for one day, it's sad.

7:56 to 8:00, I go to the bathroom,

brush your teeth, wash your face with water,

eat a turkey sandwich,

have some gay thoughts,

leave your house by like 8:45

to try and arrive to work by 9:00, 9:15.

- You eat a turkey sandwich in the morning?

- Not every morning,

but I did this morning,

so here you go.

- Turkey sandwich and gay thoughts in the morning.

All right, got it.

- Devin apparently gets up at 6:45 every morning,

and it's exercising within 15ish minutes of waking up.

It kinda sounds like a prank.

- Good morning.

It is 7:45.

Of course there's some modifications,

because I've got some beasts

that I need to feed.

So Jen's routine was really chill.

I got some extra sleep,

which was nice.

- Your routine was fun.

It wasn't that hard for me to implement beyond

the fact that it was just like getting up a little earlier

and adding exercise.

Devin told me to jog.

I'm going on a jog,

which is fine, but it's not fun.

The thing is, exercising will never be my bag,

but I do understand why you do it,

because the endorphins smack you in the face.

You do feel ready,

and as soon as you get out of

the shower after having exercise,

and you're about to get dressed,

you feel very powerful,

and ready to face on the world.

I don't like showering in the morning

because I don't like being cold in the morning,

but I'm really hot because I just was fuckin' running,

so I guess this is the trade off.

- I feel like I'm following a recipe to make a Jen.

You know, I've never done the thing

where you put on your eye makeup first,

and then you put on the rest of your face stuff.

Typically I do moisturizer,

and then it's like makeup time,

but I kinda like it.

Washing my face with just water was nice.

I think I'm gonna implement that a little bit more.

- My face gets dry, too.

- Right.

- So that's partially why I only use water in the morning,

and then I use cleanser,

but if I used cleanser twice a day,

I would kinda look like the mummy, so.

I don't have Devin's exact products,

but skin care routine is what comes after the shower.

I already have a kind of similar skin care routine to you,

so that was sort of normal for me.

- I don't put any product really in my hair,

except some hair oil, because I'm blonde,

and you gotta keep it healthy.

Actually my makeup looks great.

Jen, I'm gonna copy your way of doing things.

- I did call Pat.

He didn't answer, which we found out was

- He was in the bathroom.

- Yeah, he was in the bathroom.

- Yeah.

- What can ya do?

I'm glad he didn't answer.

I think it would have been weirder for both of us.

Good morning, Pat.

I hope you are awake and getting ready for your day at work.

This is Jen with your wake up call.

Devin instructed me to do this,

so please take care of yourself,

have a good breakfast,

and yeah, enjoy the day.

- Couldn't have done it better myself, Jen.

I think that if you every wanted

to open a wake up call system

where you could just prerecord a bunch

of wake up call messages,

and then have people call in,

and set an alarm, you could make a lot of money.

- Yeah, I mean,

if this doesn't work out, that's what I'm doing.

- So I was running a little bit late,

so I packed my turkey sandwich,

and as I eat this for breakfast I

have to think gay thoughts,

so here I go.

Starting my day off with a turkey sandwich.

- [Jen] That's right.

- Just gave me a robust feeling in the morning.

I just felt like I could tackle anything.

I got a little gassy towards the afternoon.

- It happens.

- The morning I felt strong.

- Yeah, cold cuts really go through your system really fast,

but they wake ya up.

- [Chantel] Ooh!

- The pants fit perfectly,

the shirt fits great.

I really can't complain.

Even the boots, which were a size bigger than my shoe size,

still fit really well.

- It's like a Hawaiian shirt that a dad wears,

but also it is cool.

I think the black is what makes it really cool.

- The black makes it pop.

It's very poppy.

- I love this shirt,

I love these pants,

and I love these boots.

You know I love a good boot.

- Yeah.

- The thing is, I feel like I've never seen Jen wear

an ensemble like this.

- Yeah, I feel like she worked

out her stylish part of herself.

- Yeah.

- And I also love how she mixed black,

we're talking about you.

- Okay.

(laughing)

- Jen is really good at styling other people.

- She really is.

- She actually really enjoys it too.

- This shirt was great.

The pants are fun, they're different.

Devin really picked some stuff that was like kind of new,

but also familiar.

We all know black slacks are just always gonna be in.

They're high waisted,

which I'd never really worn before,

but I like them because they keep you warmer.

It's kind of like long johns.

Wearin' my outfit.

Yeah, I fit in, right?

No one thought I was over dressed for the restaurant.

- Yeah, you look great.

- I think once we changed into our stuff,

we had a pretty normal day at the office.

They did really seem that put off,

or they didn't really notice that much difference.

Like occasionally someone would me like,

oh, you look fancy,

or people really loved this shirt,

I love the shirt too.

The choker is like interesting

because it's new for me, it's different,

and I thought I was really gonna feel restricted by it,

but you really don't notice it after awhile.

- This is a very cute outfit.

- [Devin] Right?

- It's not that far from what you would wear.

- I have a Hawaiian shirt that I wear sometimes.

- [Freddie] Yeah.

- But not as structured as this.

This one's very structured.

- This is very cute.

- [Devin] She said she has

a couple shirts from this company.

- Ah. This is a good shirt.

- Yeah, I like this shirt a lot.

I had so many compliments for this outfit.

- It's so bright and colorful,

and it's a little out of character for you,

but I actually like it.

- I am getting so many compliments on this shirt.

Right now I'm just leaving a parking lot of a McDonald's,

and this woman drove by,

and was just like "I like your shirt."

Like damn, Jen should dress me all the time.

- Is that a Devin necklace I see?

- [Jen] Yeah, it is a Devin necklace.

Do I look like Devin?

- It's a statement that Jen does not usually make.

I like it.

- [Jen] I do feel more fancy,

which I appreciate.

- Yeah.

- I feel really happy about this, actually.

You made an effort to push me out of my comfort zone,

but you also were very committed

to making sure it was still within boundaries and comfort,

and I thought that was really sweet,

and very considerate, honestly.

- People are pretty excited about the tomboy look on me.

They're like, oh my God,

this is so different for you,

which to be honest,

I thought I did have a little tomboy in my style,

but now that I'm wearing this outfit,

I'm realizing I probably don't.

I'm probably just wearing pants,

but yeah, this is cool.

Everyone's like happy Jenning.

I feel closer to you, Jen.

- Me too.

Yeah, I feel like we did have a good understanding

of what the other person would feel comfortable wearing,

and then how it would look,

which I thought was really cool.

- I don't wanna compare,

but this was a pretty successful style swap.

- Just swapping styles is weirdly intimate,

it is pretty intimate,

so it can backfire.

You gotta be careful, and you know,

you really have to keep everybody's comfort in mind,

but ultimately, yeah,

this didn't backfire at all.

This went pretty smoothly.

- We've done Freddie and Chantel,

and then Jen and I,

and the only person who's left now is Kristin.

- Tell us who you want Kristin to style swap with.

- And it doesn't have to be one of us.

It can be someone from BuzzFeed in general.

It could be Ryan Bergara.

- Well she would just not shave

and wear a lot of big t-shirts.

- And he would wear a dress.

- Yeah.

- Which would actually be a great video.

- Yeah, that's the thing,

because Kristin doesn't wear pants.

Kristin is a dress or skirt person.

- Style swap.

- Jen and Devin edition.

- Lady tested.

- Lady Freaky Fridayed.

- Yeah, I'm Lindsay Lohan.

- And I'm Jamie Lee Curtis.

(laughing)

- [Chantel And Freddie] We've got merch.

- Click here to buy it.

- Spoons!

- Spoons.

- Spoons.

- [All] Spoons.
