I'm just afraid of what you're gonna do with your new found assets.

A lot of weird things just came to mind.

I don't know maybe I'll be a lot more confident,

I mean I don't think that confidence is a huge issue for me

but I am going to St. Kitts to celebrate my 40th with a ton of friends

so I could run around in a tiny bikini.

here to experience the new technology of stem cell fat transfer to my breasts.

I live by the 80/20 rule where 80% of the time I'm super healthy, exercise a ton.

You know I've always just been curious or intrigued of the idea of more of a fuller silhouette

I just didn't want to live with plastic in my body.

My breasts are currently a size A. I'm hoping to have my breasts a large B.

I've been keeping my eye on the technology for about 10 years now

so it's been something that's been released in Austria.

So what we're gonna do today is we're gonna airsculpt out Sarah's tummy fat and waist fat

Our motto is if you can pinch it we can take it, and it's true.

What we're gonna do is by taking out your waist we're gonna make it smaller than when

you were like 16 or 18 and then we're gonna take that fat, it's gonna be in a big canister

which you're gonna see, it's gonna look a little bit like a mango smoothie from Jamba Juice

And then we're gonna pump that right out of that same canister into her breasts,

kind of like a magic wand, we're gonna just plump up each breast the way she wants it.

We wanna bring 'em in, pick 'em up a little bit, make them rounder and plumper

We're gonna really accentuate this cleavage.

No needle, no scalpel, no stitches.

She can go back to work tomorrow.

She's gonna be awake.

I think it'll be the most fun she's ever had at the doctor.

There's obviously a huge amount of lifestyle changes to contribute to the success of this procedure

and so yesterday I had all my guilty pleasures, minus the booze.

I kinda woke up feeling really good after meeting with Dr. Rollins and him walking me

through everything and all of the details

I felt very confident in his ability to do awesome things.

It seems to be you know nothing but 100% results.

The party has just started.

This is the incision we make, it's a little puncture hole.

It's the size of a Number 2 pencil lead.

This is not a needle, by the way, it's a skinny tube.

It's got a bunch of holes down the side and it sprays numbing fluid out.

So we're just smoothly and gently taking out her fat.

You notice it doesn't hurt.

We're getting pure yellow stuff out, no blood.

We've a liter and a half of fat out.

It looks like we're gonna be at around 2 and a half liters.

That's a lot of Sarah.

The rest of the procedure's quite easy, the hard part's now over.

Your pinch level went from about here to, you know, a centimeter.

And your sister can see, it's really gonna look like that.

Different person.

Oh my God!

That is so crazy.

So this is the magic wand I talk about.

And when I press this pedal it's gonna inject the fat itself.

You're gonna lose about 30% of what I put in.

And so I purposefully put in about 30% too much.

It's weird that you're in a surgical outfit and I'm talking to you.

So it's been 3 weeks?

Yes.

You know there was discomfort but other than that it was great.

Let's take a look, we're gonna do some before and after pictures and you can compare.

The important thing to know is right now you look good.

But 3 months from now, you're gonna look amazing.

So this is only the tip of the iceberg.

The next day I was definitely in a bit of discomfort.

It just gave me an excuse to do absolutely nothing for 48 hours.

I would say I'm a small C, big B. And I was not even an A before.

I have this one favorite dress that I loved wearing

but I always had to wear kinda like a padded push up bra with it.

So now I was able to rock it without it.

And it's sexier than it was before.

I kind of just free float in the house a lot now completely naked.

So I definitely am a lot more confident.

My breasts are actually fine.

They're not tender anymore and the swelling went down.

Oh my goodness!

This is amazing.

What's great about this is they're your real breasts.

Most of the breast is fat anyway we're just putting more in.

They move naturally they feel natural, you don't have to get em replaced.

I'm excited to definitely go lingerie shopping for sure.

So in 3 months she should look bikini ready.

She told me that she hasn't worn a bikini in a very long time and she wears onepieces

and my goal is to get her confident in the bikini.

And I know we'll do it.

I would absolutely reccommend this to other women.

I feel fantastic and confident.

I feel happy, yeah.

I just turned 40 so I feel this is a nice gift for the next decade of my life.

How 3-D Printing is Changing Surgical Care at Duke - Duration: 2:45.

How can you do better with personalized medicine?

And that's what we're doing.

All the scans are tailored to the patient, but then we take that scan another step further,

have a virtual model, and then have a 3-D printed physical model.

I guess I like to think about it as: every body has a story, and we try to help illustrate

that.

From a clinical perspective, I would like every patient who is having a cardiac intervention

have a 3-D print of their heart.

The genesis of this collaboration really started to begin around us building out that I&E-type

3-D printing offering.

Our students and the faculty and staff members who were using that equipment started to leverage it

very effectively against the problems they had.

So of course the thought is: if they're using these relatively cheap tools to solve problems,

we can probably solve even greater problems with better equipment.

Early on in our experience, we had a child with an incredibly complicated heart.

What's called a criss-cross heart.

In terms of being able to actually understand the anatomy in the detail to plan the surgery,

it was critical to be able to turn it over in our hands and look at it.

And it made all the difference in terms of doing the appropriate planning for that child,

who is now doing very well as an older toddler.

So when people come in with a jaw fracture they're typically what's called comminuted,

which means in a lot of different pieces.

And it can be difficult to figure out exactly how to put the pieces back together.

What we do pretty regularly for the really complicated cases, we'll just get their CT

scan, and using that, print out a model of the mandible and exactly how it's broken.

And so before we ever take the patient into the operating room, we know exactly what size

plates we want, we know exactly where they go, we know how all the pieces fit together

because we've played with this little plastic model that we built that's pretty lifelike.

At Duke, this has really shown the strength of collaboration.

It's shown the strength of collaboration between surgery and pediatrics, it's shown the strength

of collaboration between radiology and surgery, radiology and pediatrics, radiology and cardiology.

And collaboration with Chip and his team and the Innovation Co-Lab.

This is a university-wide collaborative effort that has produced some incredible results

that could really only be achievable at a place like this.

Bangladesh is one of the fastest growing economies of the last few years.

But despite all of that, most of the Bangladeshi people still keep their money at home.

What's going on in Bangladesh that causes people not to trust the banks?

Well, the answer is religion.

According to Islam, lending Money with interest is a sin.

And 90% of the Bangladeshi population happens to be muslim.

But wait a minute because things are changing!

In the last few decades, Muslim countries have created a system that allows saving and

lending money and which also meets their Islamic principles.

Yes, my dear viewers, we are talking about Islamic Banking, a phenomenon that is becoming

more and more important in Bangladesh.

You might think this is great news for the government of Sheikh Hasina, right?

Well, in fact, the opposite is true.

of Bangladesh distrust Islamic banking?

And more importantly…

What is the role islamic banking might have in the future of Bangladesh?

Today we are going to answer these questions.

But before we do, let's answer the most urgent of all…

WHAT'S ISLAMIC BANKING ALL ABOUT?

Imagine we have 1000 USD in a saving account.

A western bank can give us an interest rate of say…

3%.

I'm sure many of you have wondered…

How is it possible that a bank gives us money just for holding it?

Where is the profit here?

Well, the truth is this.

The 1000 USD we put in the bank will not remain in the bank's safe.

Instead, they use that money to lend to companies and individuals.

Those loans have a higher interest rate so the bank makes money and gives us a little

share of that profit.

This is the Basic mechanism of the Western banking system.

Of course, there are many ways to avoid risk.

Depending on the country we live in, the bank is forced by law to keep a small percentage

of those 1000 USD.

That percentage cannot be lent and it's called the CASH RATIO.

According to SHARIA LAW, this system is sinful because lending money with an interest is

unfair.

Of course, there is no problem with keeping your client's money.

But you can't lend it to anyone.

In economic jargon, this means that SHARIA LAW demands a 100% cash ratio.

So this is, in summary, is the way Islamic Banks work.

And now you might wonder… where is the business here?

Well, mainly, Islamic banks make money by two means.

First, the banks charge their clients commissions for keeping the money.

So, instead of giving you an interest rate, Islamic banks can only give you a little,

symbolic present.

This present is called the HIBAB.

Another business practice that is allowed by sharia law is adding "overcosts".

For example, let's say we buy a house with an Islamic bank.

In this case, the bank will buy the house for us and then, they will sell it back to

us with at a higher price.

This price is called the MUSHARAKA, and we can pay it in instalments.

If, for whatever reason, we can't complete the payments, the bank will sell the house

in the market.

If they get some profit for this selling, we, the client, might take a share of that

profit.

But wait a minute because this is not the end of the story!

The Koran bans banks from investing in what they consider 'dirty businesses' like

tobacco, weapons or pornography.

There is even a special index.

The "DOW JONES ISLAMIC MARKETS" index which has 1400 companies from the New York

stock market where Islamic banks can invest.

As you can imagine, these banks are becoming really successful in several muslim countries.

But, well, in Bangladesh they are kicking arse.

Islamic banking is growing rapidly in Bangladesh with a market share of about 20 percent.

Today, there are already 8 banks of this kind in Bangladesh.

Even Western banks like CITY are starting to offer Islamic banking services for those

who demand them.

In a country where bribes are a thing everywhere, Islamic Banks are famous for their transparency

and good practices.

Islamic Banks, for instance, are famous for having nothing to do with the Bangladesh government.

So, if you wanted to get a loan from an Islamic bank, you had to demonstrate yourself that

you were a reliable client willing to pay back your debts.

But wait a minute because things are not as good as they seem for islamic Banks!

GOOD BANK, BAD BANK Islamic banking arrived in Bangladesh in 1983,

when some Saudi and Kuwaiti hedge funds created the so called "ISLAMI BANK."

This bank played a crucial role in turning an agricultural country into the textile powerhouse

it is today.

Today, clothes make up 80% of Bangladeshi exports and Islami bank is the biggest bank

in the country.

Nonetheless, the growth of Islamic banking in the country is not clear anymore.

BANGLADESH CENTRAL BANK IS NOT GIVING NEW ISLAMIC BANKING LICENCES

Even those western banks that want to give islamic banking services must wait.

The Bangladesh Central Bank will not give more licences.

They claim they need to create brand new regulations on the matter.

Meanwhile, the Government of Sheikh Hasina has sent inspectors to the Islami Bank offices

and they are surveying all of their movements.

So now you might wonder…

What is wrong with the Islamic Banks and the government?

Well…

Sheikh Hasina claims they are financing Islamic terrorism.

As we explained in this other video, Islamic terrorism is becoming a real threat to the

country.

And many people think some of these banks might be financing terrorist groups.

However… there are several reasons that make us believe that, at the end of the day,

this is nothing but a power struggle.

Sheikh Hasina loves to take things under her control.

And the fact that the biggest bank in the country sympathizes with the proposals of

the opposition party does not help.

This is why, on January 2017, Hasina replaced the Islamic bank's board of managers with

her own supporters.

Since then, loans have skyrocketed, and the Bangladesh Central bank itself has warned

that some of those loans are too risky.

Meanwhile, those Saudi and Kuwaiti hedge funds that created the bank, 35 years ago, are now

taking back their money.

They simply don't think it is safe anymore.

But wait a minute because this is not the first time Sheikh Hasina tried to control

the financial industry in her country!

Do you remember Mohammad Yunus?

Well… he is in Hasina's crosshairs too...

In the year 2006, after some terrorist attacks, the Bangladeshi army organized a coup d'etat

and created a technocratic government.

Back then, Mohammad YUNUS was a favourite candidate to lead that government.

In the end, it didn't happen.

But Hasina learnt a vital lesson: beware of the bankers.

Sometimes, they like to get involved in politics.

This is why Hasina's first priority after taking position in 2008, was to take care

of Yunus.

First of all, she forced him to resign as the chairman of his own bank, the GRAMEEN

bank.

Of course, some of her claims were true.

Make no mistake, Mohammad Yunus is not a perfect guy either.

But we will talk about this in another video...

But if making him resign was not enough, Hasina started a campaign to diminish his image in

Bangladesh society.

In other words, Sheikh Hasina knows how to beat her political enemies.

First it was Yunus, now it's the Islamic banks.

So the question now is Do you think there is an actual connection between Islamic Banks

and terrorism?

Or is this just an excuse made up by Sheikh Hasina in order to keep the finance industry

under control?

And should Bangladesh allow Islamic banks to operate in the country without restrictions?
