Waching daily Jan 2 2018

Hi there, it's Ernest from Trip Astute. Happy New Year! In this video, we're doing

something a little different. We're going to share with you some of our goals for

2018.

(light chiming music)

With the new year comes the opportunity to set goals. This year is no

different. Since we officially launched our channel in Spring of 2017, we've

grown in both our subscribers and our aspirations as a channel. So today, we

wanted to share our goals for this year. First off is drone footage. You may have

noticed that we've been posting more drone videos lately.

We actually got a drone in June, but we haven't had a chance to fly it. It also

doesn't help that we live in Los Angeles, which has a lot of restrictions in terms

of both airspace and filming. But we did get a chance to take our drone with us

on a recent holiday trip to Europe, and I'm slowly getting more confident with

flying it. I still get a little paranoid flying around people, but I'm definitely

getting over it. I'm also working on my FAA part 107 license which will allow me

to fly commercially. So I'm definitely interested in getting deeper into drones

and incorporating them into our videos. Our second goal is to do more giveaways.

We ran a giveaway last year when we reached 1,000 subscribers, and we were

shocked at the number of people who entered. We would like to do regular

giveaways on this channel. It's a great way for us to generate some buzz on our

channel while also giving back to our community. Our third goal is community

videos. Our focus last year was getting a solid mix of our core videos which

includes travel tips, destination and gear reviews, and points and miles

tutorials. That's not changing in 2018, but we're going to add some community and

behind-the-scenes videos as well. Since we feel like we're part of a community

here on YouTube, we want to be able to share more about our daily lives. I don't

think we'll ever become a vlog, but you're going see more videos where we

share personal details and what's happening in our lives. Our fourth goal

is to move toward 4k video. One of our technical goals for 2018 is to start

producing content in 4k. We currently produce most of our content

in 1080p HD. This means some significant upgrades in hardware, so it might not happen

until the end of the year. I know my current MacBook Pro can barely process

1080p at 60 frames per second, so I'll probably need to invest in a new laptop.

But we think is that making the investments now will not only position

us for the future, but also make our content more vivid

and interesting. Our fifth goal is to create more videos on Los Angeles. I've

been toying with the idea of producing more LA specific content for a while.

Most of our time is spent in LA, so it makes sense for us to create content

that reflects our hometown. While we promise not to overload the channel

with LA only content, you'll likely be seeing some more videos to help those of

you who live or are visiting LA. Things like where to fly a drone in LA, how to get to

the Hollywood sign, and our favorite hikes, are topics that we're exploring. Our

sixth goal is to do collaborations. We have yet to do an official collaboration,

but it's something that we really want to do. There are so many awesome YouTube

creators and channels, so we want to find ways to do a fun project together. If

you've got a channel and you're interested in collaborating with us,

please let us know. We'd love to work with other creators. Our seventh goal is

to grow our partnerships. This is an interesting one for us. As we've grown, we've

started to get more brands and services looking to partner with us. You'll notice

on our website that we now have partnerships with Bankrate which

provides credit card offers, and World Nomads,

which is a travel insurance provider that we've used many times in the past

and highly recommend. We want to be completely transparent with you that we

do get paid from these affiliates. However, our promise to you is that we

will not partner with products or services that we don't personally use or

believe in. And we won't ever create content for the sake of pushing products

or offers. In terms of travel, we're not quite sure where we'll be traveling this

year. We will likely be traveling for a couple of weddings, so we're going to try

to combine vacations with those trips. And those are our New Year's goals for

2018. What are your goals for this year? Let us know in the comment section below.

We want to thank you all for your support. Without all of you, we wouldn't

be here planning how we can create more valuable and fun content in the new year.

So we are grateful for this community. We hope you have a wonderful start to your

year. Until next time, travel safe and travel smart.

Wenjing Sui Cong Han w/Eng Subs "We Have Secret Weapon For Olympics" - Duration: 4:03.

Let's talk about the competition.

You got the silver medal in the grand prix final,

Just looking back to the most recent year, you almost got every single gold medal for each competition

Including the national, the grand prix series

And you broke the world record for free program in the NHK trophy at that time.

What do you think about getting the 2nd place in the GPF?

The silver medal in the GPF meant a lot more for us.

We were able to find out many problems and weakness from the GPF and before the olympics.

It's a reminder for us that we have to make good use of our time

And set out nerves on edge.

We did a lot of planning and preparation after the GPF.

We will fix some problems in the choreography.

We will improve the quality of our technical elements

Right now we only have 50 days left.

We try to use every single minute to train very hard for the olympic.

We are going back to our training after we finish this activity.:)

There is not much time left for us,

But we can be more efficient and more delicate during this time.

And perform our best in the olympics.

Sui and Han are the greatest highlights of the our pair skating.

We noticed that you have some unique and signature elements in your program.

What did you do in training in order to complete those difficult movements?

It's very difficult to create and execute a new movement in pair skating.

We practice thousands of times and experience numerous failures

Then it takes us really long time to coordinate with each order and get the elements done.

How long does it take to get a new element done from the very beginning?

It's hard to say how long. Probably thousands of times.Like ten thousand times..

Just enough to perform the best one in the competition.

The next question...

Do you have any secret weapons for the olympics?

It's a difficult questions, isn't it?

We have something that we want to keep it secret now.

We are trying our best all the time, training very hard.

And I hope we can present our best performance in the olympics.

And show a different Sui and Han to everyone.

We are preparing for the olympics thoroughly after coming back from the GPF.

The intensity of training is way higher than previously.

It's important for me as a professional athlete , to regulate my body function, enhance my fitness and boost my immunity.

I must keep my fitness and strength in a very high level so that I can provide enough support to ensure the safety of my partner.

I like this product a lot

Sui:I like to eat, (laugh)

Han:She eats too much !

It's very hard for me to reduce the portion of my meal.

There is an interesting joke about me.

If I don't monitor my diet and keep an eye on my weight,

Han can only drag me along the ground instead of lifting me up in the air. (Laugh)

INSPIRE for Middle & High School Research Projects 12-29-17 - Duration: 7:33.

Welcome to INSPIRE for Middle and High School Research Projects

this short tutorial is designed to assist teachers and students with

research projects on any subject matter from English to history and beyond you

will get an overview of the database Explora for High Schoolers including

how to search and how to navigate your search results this is the INSPIRE

website INSPIRE is a service of the Indiana State Library and the web

address is WWW.inspire.in.gov for this tutorial we will highlight Explora for

High School Explora is a great resource for any research paper

it contains articles from encyclopedias newspapers journals and other print and

electronic resources these articles are vetted reliable sources and are

recommended for research projects over using websites like Google or Wikipedia

to access this database go to databases by subject on the INSPIRE home page here

it is a little closer just click right there on databases by subject to then

get to the database scroll down to student search six through 12 and from

there select Explora for high schools at the bottom of the Explora homepage

are suggested topics for any students who may be struggling to find a topic to

research you can also find a search box at the top of the page to search for any

subject here is a sample search for Antarctica you can see that it suggests

common searches on that topic such as Antarctica and climate change you can

ignore these if you prefer however and just hit enter to do a general search on

your topic

here's the search results page at the top is a topic overview in this case

it's an article from a magazine called our world the search results tell you at

a glance what type of resource this article is this particular one says

reference because it's from an encyclopedia and results should be

available in full-text as long as you have the full-text box checked on the

left side of the screen also on the left side of the screen is the area where you

can refine your results let's look at those refine results options in more

detail as I mentioned first ensure that the box next to full text is checked

this will retrieve only articles that are available in their entirety and will

reduce any frustrations your students may feel at finding interesting looking

articles only to discover that the entire article isn't available for them

to read you can adjust the publication date of the articles you're seeking with

this sliding bar your students may want to use resources that are more current

depending what their topic is you can also limit your search by source type

for instance if you only want encyclopedia articles and academic

journals or you want to avoid magazine articles and reviews you can do that by

selecting or unselecting those source types here now let's look at an

individual article I've scrolled down the results page here - a periodical article

from Discover Magazine called Meltdown to select it you can click on the title

or where it says HTML full-text and this is what the HTML full-text results look

like at the top is an option to translate the article into a number of

different languages and under some bibliographic

information and the title you will also find an option to listen to the article

being read aloud both of these options should help make the articles a little

more accessible to your students below all of that is the article itself and to

the right are options for saving the article we'll look at those more closely too

- you can save directly to Google classroom or Google Drive you just need

to log into your account you can print email or save the article to a flash

drive you can also grab a permalink for the article a special note is the option

to use ready-made citations for each article just click on cite and you are

given several style options for citing the article including MLA one other

option you may have for some articles is the ability to view it in PDF full text

this allows you to see the article in full color I was as it was originally

published because it is a digital scanned copy of that article here is

what a PDF result looks like on the left you can actually browse through the

entire magazine or journal this way you are not limited to just the article you

started with you can see page numbers listed there 20 22 24 30 those are page

numbers one more search option to consider in Explora is the advanced

search here you can limit your searches even further

including adjusting for Lexile level ranges and the ability to adjust the

publication and document types within all of the databases that Explora

searches you might make note that these databases are all available and can be

searched independently of one another through INSPIRE

there are databases specific to language arts science health medicine and much

much more however Explora actually does some of

the legwork for you by searching multiple databases at once if you do

want to search only a topic specific database you will find those back on the

databases by subject page this concludes the INSPIRE for Middle and High School

Research Projects tutorial we hope you found it useful and encourage you to

explore INSPIRE more on your own if you have further questions about INSPIRE

don't hesitate to contact the Indiana State library's professional development

[TITLE: Premier Kathleen Wynne was in North Bay to discuss free prescription drug coverage for children and youth 24 and under.] [Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario]: It's hard to overstate the importance of work that is done here for families.

Government exists to help people to do things that they cannot do alone. One Kids Place is a perfect example of that. And that's exactly why we are introducing OHIP+, starting next year OHIP+ will make prescription medications free for children and youth 24 and under.

[TITLE: More than 4,400 drugs will be covered by OHIP+ at no cost.] From zero until your 25th birthday, coverage will be automatic. That means no upfront costs, with no strings attached for more than 4 million children and young people. We know how much this is needed here in the North and across the province.

[TITLE: OHIP+ is the first universal drug program of its kind in Canada.] Doctors will know that when they prescribe a medication for a child or young person that that parent or child or young person will be able to fill that prescription.
