something that most people want to hear that they need

So I'm doing all this talk about root canals, and you still don't understand. What is a root canal?

What does that even mean, so I have this model that I use in my office?

What is search engine optimization (SEO)? || SEO Fundamentals - Duration: 4:07.

Plain and simple, Search Engine Optimization is the process of making

improvements on and off your website in order to gain more exposure in

search engine results.

And more exposure in search engine results will ultimately lead to more visitors

finding you for the right reasons and going to your website.

In order to understand what improvements will affect search engine results,

let's take a step back and understand the goal of the search engines themselves.

At the heart of it all, search engines are just trying to find and understand all

the content out there on the Internet, and then quickly deliver relevant and

authoritative results based on any phrase that a user might be searching for.

First, let's talk about relevance.

When a user searches for something like California hotels, search engines want

to show a list of results that are relevant to the topic of California hotels.

Search engines will analyze all of the web pages that they've ever visited and

pick out the pages that they believe are the most relevant to California hotels.

They determine this by evaluating lots of different factors, including how your

content is written and implemented in code, as well as how other websites around

the Internet are linking to you.

And all of this stuffed into a very big, very complex, and very

proprietary algorithm.

At the end of the day, and in a fraction of a second, a search engine is then able

to rank and display all of those web pages in order of relevance to that phrase

that the user just typed in, California Hotels.

This is very important to understand, because search engines make a very

clear distinction between content that's about California Hotels versus

content relevant for other phrases, like California resorts, or a phrase like beach getaway.

Search engines are able to understand quite a bit about semantic and thematic

connections between words and concepts.

Take another example: dog crates. A search engine knows that pages selling dog

crates are extremely relevant to that search query, but it also knows that

websites about pet carriers are also very relevant.

It also knows that a website promoting things like pet food and dog toys might

also be relevant to that search query, but perhaps less so.

The other factor that influences search engine exposure is Authority.

In other words, out there on the largely lawless World Wide Web, where anyone can

post anything, is your website a trusted place on the Internet that the search

engines would want to show to their users?

One very common way that search engines determine the authority of a web page or

a domain is by evaluating what other websites think of you, and this can be

measured through the links out there that are pointing to your website.

You can think of a link as a vote on the Internet.

A web page linking to your website is almost like saying, hey, I trust your

content enough that I am wiling to reference your page and possibly even send

traffic to your site.

It's a vote of trust, and the search engines pick up on this as they scour the

web reading, evaluating, and storing all the data that they can find on all the

pages of the Internet.

But it's important to know right from the start that this not just a popularity

contest where you try to accumulate the most votes on the Internet.

Search engines have safeguards in place to prevent this kind of abuse, and

instead place an emphasis on the quality of a link.

For example, a search engine is more likely to trust a link if it comes from a

well respected or industry-related site, like an industry leading blog or a

nonprofit or government agency that's involved in your field of work.

A link coming from a one month-old site that has nothing to do with you or your

industry, right above some text that says "I'll link to anything you want for five

dollars" is not going to be valued nearly as much.

From the search engines' perspective, some links are more effective than others

in casting their vote to your website and determining your site's authority.

So you might think of this whole system as a weighted democracy where some votes

are worth more than others.

Understanding how important both relevance and authority are to a search

engine, will help us to both understand and improve these factors, and will

ultimately lead to better search engine exposure and more visitors to the pages

of our websites.

Is it Safe to Feed Dogs Raw Eggs?

Is it safe to feed dogs raw eggs?! It seems whenever I bring up the subject, I'm met with all sorts of reactions. Pooch Parents wonder if dogs will get Salmonella or E. coli. They wonder if they will get Salmonella or E. coli. Are raw eggs dangerous to our beloved canines? Some vets encourage it while others warn against it—and so the raw food debate rages on.

Although I'm not a vet, I do feed my two dogs (60lb Shepherd mix and 60lb Rhodesian Ridgeback mix) organic raw eggs at least once a week. And they just love it.

The bottom line is that eggs are a complete food source for dogs. Theyre a complete source of amino acids, and they contain vitamin A, riboflavin, vitamin B12, iron, selenium and fatty acids.

The shell contains calcium and is good for their teeth and digestion. Modern dogs are a decedent of grey wolves and wolves eat raw. well, everything.

So your dog's digestive system is fully equipped to handle raw foods too. In fact, the dry kibble of today is doing a disservice to your dog's wolf-like digestive system. Why the Fear?.

Some experts warn against raw eggs for two reasons; because of the possibility of Salmonella or E. coli and because of avidin, a biotin inhibitor. The truth is that dogs rarely get Salmonella or E. coli.

True, it does begin with the hen. This is why organic eggs from a trusted source are so important. But even so, even if your dog ate an infected egg the chances of him contracting E. coli or Salmonella is rare.

Dogs have a very short digestive tract combined with a very acidic stomach. This means their short digestion tract does not give time for bacteria to build up – unlike with humans.

Further, the acidic stomach is strong enough to kill all bacteria as well as break down whole raw bones. This is why dogs can eat wild animals and digest them with little problem.

The greatest risk of exposure is to the human – so proper hygiene is a must. I give my dogs the whole egg, send them outside, and watch them carefully carry it in their mouth to their "special" place.

With the care of a surgeon, they crack the egg and suck out all the insides, before munching down the shell. Biotin is a B vitamin and avidin is a biotin inhibitor – both of which are in raw eggs.

Avidin is in raw egg whites and is very important for cellular growth, fatty acid metabolism, and a good skin and coat.

Although pet owners are warned against avidin, it would take an extraordinary amount of raw eggs to create this deficiency. Besides, the egg yolk has plenty of biotin.

This is why it's important to serve the whole, raw egg. Theres magic in the combination of avidin and biotin.

Furthermore, assuming you feed your dog a well-balanced diet, your dog gets biotin in other forms. If youre concerned, supplement your dog's diet with liver treats, which are a wonderful source of many vitamins.

Bottom line: it's perfectly safe to feed your dog several raw eggs a week, as long as it's not a mainstay of his diet. If you notice stomach upset then feed less, as eggs are rich and high in protein.

It may take some time to adjust. If you're very concerned about potential risks you can always cook the egg.

Although some health benefits are lost, there are still many vitamins and nutrients in a cooked egg, with none of the risk. Can You Trust Your Eggs?.

My biggest fear when buying eggs, either for my dog or myself, is whether I can trust the farmer. I buy local, organic, farm-fresh eggs as often as I can, straight from the farmer.

I do live in rural, Northern California where I have a ton of access to farm fresh food.

If you can purchase eggs straight from an organic farmer, do it! Theyre incredibly flavorful and often higher in nutrition than commercially grown eggs.

If I cant buy farm-direct, Ill go with a brand I trust. I look for hens that are 100% free range (meaning they can come and go whenever they please) and fed a 100% organic diet. More Than Just Eggs!.

Just like eggs, you may not know of these other foods that are good for Fido. Always feed something new in small amounts first, and if you notice stomach upset, cut back on the amount.

If raw eggs aren't your style, scrambled, boiled, and fried eggs are great for your dogs too! Cooked eggs still contain riboflavin, selenium, and of course protein!.

Apples. In moderation, they make great treats and help clean teeth. Remember to avoid the seeds! Apple seeds actually contain a form of cyanide which can be fatal to dogs. Don't worry, humans filter this low dose of cyanide out.

So share your apple a day to keep both the doctor and the vet away. Carrots are low in calorie and high in fiber, beta-carotene, and vitamin A. They can be raw or cooked.

My dogs take their big carrots in the backyard whole and nibble on them slowly. My only problem is now theyll dig them out of my garden and eat them whole! Greens and all. Perhaps theyre part rabbit?.

Green beans, believe it or not, make excellent treats. They are filling and low in calories. Buy organic frozen ones and add them to your dog's next meal. Use them as training treats.

See, you were actually doing your dog a favor sneaking him veggies under the table as a kid!. Peanut butter makes a great treat. It is a good source of protein, healthy fat, vitamin B, niacin, and vitamin E.

Always choose raw, organic, unsalted, sugar-free peanut butter. I spread some onto their Kongs and watch them go crazy trying to get it out. Pumpkin is wonderful for dogs. The flesh can be raw or cooked and the seeds ground raw.

The flesh settles the digestive tract and is good for both constipation and diarrhea – weird I know, but true. Plus, it's loaded with fiber and beta-carotene.

I would avoid the sugary canned pie stuff, but organic or sugar-free canned pumpkin would work. Ground, raw pumpkin seeds are a natural de-wormers for dogs too.

Roast the flesh and keep the seeds raw and your dog will thank you. A couple tablespoons for big dogs per day is plenty. More Than Just My Best Friend.

My dogs are truly my best buddies and I treat them as so. They are companions, security, comfort, and encouragement.

Last year, I lost my 8 year old Golden Retriever, Tate, to cancer. The lymphoma took over and within a few months, his entire body was covered in lumps.

It was absolutely devastating to watch this gentle soul, full of only love and optimism, die in such pain and misery. His life was cut too short.

He deserved so much better. Was it my fault? Could I have prolonged his life had I made better food choices? I'll never know and I'll always wonder.

But I have vowed to take the health of my family much more seriously, eating only organic non-GM foods. RIP Tate, love you always.

The Duke of York is coming back to his old Devon college this week - Duration: 1:49.

The Duke of York returns to Britannia Royal Naval College at Dartmouth on Wednesday April

12 to take the salute at this year's Lord High Admiral's Divisions, 38 years after he

completed his own Navy training there.

He will be representing his father, The Duke of Edinburgh, who is the Lord High Admiral.

The title, which dates back to the 14th Century, was conferred to The Duke of Edinburgh by

Her Majesty The Queen on the occasion of his 90th birthday in 2011.

It was at BRNC where the Queen and Prince Philip first met, back in the 1940s.

The parade will mark the successful end of initial training for the latest group of Officer

Cadets and celebrate their formal commissioning as Royal Navy Officers.

The Duke of York will inspect the parade and present prizes to the Cadets recognised as

the top Officer Cadets for the past year.

He served on a number of other ships and in a variety of roles ashore before leaving the

Service in July 2001 in the rank of Commander.

In July 2005 the Duke of York was promoted to Captain and was appointed Commodore in

Chief of the Fleet Air Arm in 2006.

In February 2010, he was promoted to Rear Admiral on the occasion of his 50th birthday

and in 2015 was promoted to his current rank of Vice-Admiral.

He was the guest of honour at Lord High Admiral's Divisions in 2013.

Yakov, who are these extraordinary people who are holding sarin with bare hands, pointing light to the eyes and screaming "Sarin, sarin, sarin!"?

What happened in reality there, in Idlib?

It is clear that there was no sarin gas.

First, everyone was talking about some yellow smoke.

The sarin gas has no color and no smell.

Second, a person who gets exposed to a gram of sarin can live about a minute long.

And it doesn't matter which part of the body was exposed to it.

It is one of the strongest nerve agents and nothing indicates that such gas was used.

Also, we haven't seen any part of any bomb that allegedly carried the gas

And they were not investigated because the gas bombs do not tear into small pieces.

They just release gas. They don't explode practically.

That's why these bombs remain and can be identified.

Third, no one has shown us that the people who were sent to Turkey for medical help had the symptoms of being exposed to such gas.

No one has shown the analysis of what's inside their bodies. And it's something easy and necessary to be done in the first minutes.

When they take care of injured people they try to find out the type of gas that they are dealing with.

So there were more likely some explosive materials from some chemical weapon, some components.

So a explosion has released some gas and hit some people.

So, the whole theater that was prepared in advance... It was done so that there was a visible reason to take certain action.

I don't know if these scenes were planned with the agreement of the US president or without.

Such version is possible.

The situation in the world is interesting. CNN and the other companies who thought they were dictating the agenda have suddenly turned into losers.

They wanted Clinton to be president. It didn't happen. They wanted attack against Syria several times. There wasn't.

Now, this time they've had more success. But their success came because Trump decided to change his policy.

We must understand. Trump is a weak president.

He is weak because he doesn't have enough political power.

He came into the White House very hostile, he was hostile to the administration.

And that's why, like a weak president, he decided to use this moment to consolidate his prestige.

And now no one can tell him that he is limp or that he is working for Russia.

There are similar examples in American politics.

And if we look more precisely, there was a statement that this was a one time operation.

And from a military planning standpoint it was not successful and purposeless.

So they had to show that they were doing something.

So I don't think that the United States are ready to change their policy in Syria.

It's another issue what conclusions will be made in Russia.

And about the conclusions and about the US. The thing that the US general has said...

That Russia understands only force... You don't have to be a psychologist to know that the US understand only force.

No, no. I don't think Russia needs to answer strong.

Russia must re-organize so to make it clear that such actions won't be committed again.

And last thing I wanted to say. The Tomahawks attack showed that the main thing that can counter it is the fleet.

And the focus that the Russian army puts on it's fleet is justified. To neutralize such attacks.

Today the attack was against the Sharyat base in Syria.

Tomorrow they are preparing such attack, it's principally prepared, but with more missiles. Up to 5000.

Against facilities in Russia. And only the fleet can stop them.

The quantity and the quality of the air defense systems in Syria is enough to protect the Khmeimin base.

To protect the whole Syria, something else is needed.

And more of the fleet.

If Russia does that it will become clear that nobody will fly over Syria and such event won't repeat again. Without screams and hysteria.
