GOT A BRAND NEW BOOK

OUT, "BLACK PRIVILEGE."

IT'S A GREAT BOOK.

THE POINT IS PRIVILEGE IS NOT

SOMETHING JUST WHITE PEOPLE

HAVE.

BLACK PEOPLE HAVE IT AS WELL.

WE SHOULD BE PRIVILEGED AND

HONOR TO BE WHO WE ARE.

AND I APPRECIATE THE FACT I

GOT PEOPLE LINING UP TO BUY

BOOKS THE WAY WE LINE UP TO BUY

JORDAN AND YEEZYS.

THAT'S A GOOD THING.

AND THEN WE ASK HIM, WE SAY,

IS THE BOOK ALSO

FOR WHITE PEOPLE?

WHITE PEOPLE SHOULD READ

THINGS THAT DON'T PERTAIN TO

THEM.

THAT'S ONE OF THE GREATEST

PIECES OF ADVICE MY MOTHER GAVE

ME.

HE SAID WHEN I WAS GROWING UP

--

I READ MAD JUDY BLUME GROWING

Success is one baby step at a time - Duration: 9:49.

hey good morning Facebook marked your

motivation dealer here again this

morning

TGIF baby Friday and today I want to

talk about how you achieve success one

small step at a time so I just want to

give a few people an opportunity to jump

on here if we can get some folks on but

we're going to talk about success we're

going to talk about climbing the

mountain

so I'm not entirely sure if anybody's

going to be able to jump on here so

Allah I'll go ahead and get started but

you know in our in our industry and our

in our company we use the motif or the

the theme of climbing the mountain and

it's a great metaphor for achieving

success because what you see in front of

you is a huge tall mountain and you want

to get to the top of that mountain well

you don't get to the top of the mountain

without equipment without tools you

don't get to the top of the mountain

without a burning desire to do it and

you don't get to the top of the mountain

on your own it takes the help of other

people people who have been there before

you to get to the top of the mountain

but sometimes people get to the base of

the mountain and they look up at the top

and they see how high that top of that

mountain is and they get overwhelmed and

they say forget it or they look at the

path that they're going to have to take

and see how many jagged ledges there are

and how uncomfortable it's going to be

to climb and how you might get hurt

along the way and they say you know what

forget it I give up this is the perfect

metaphor for success it's the perfect

metaphor for becoming successful as an

entrepreneur or in life in any areas

lighten up life

so what I want you to think about is

getting to the base of the mountain and

not looking at the top your dream your

goal should be to get to the top and you

should your dream and your goal should

be to get to the top as quickly as

smoothly and easily as you can

but the reality is we know we're going

to hit obstacles we know that we're

going to you know skin our knees we know

that we're going to you know hurt

ourselves along the way but through that

pain we grow and through that growth we

achieve and when we achieve we get to

the top of the mountain so but it can be

very daunting it can be very deceiving

and it can be very overwhelming and so

what I want you to do is I want you to

look at success a sitting at the base of

the mountain and just looking at the

very first step that you need to take so

just look for that very first platformer

or plateau and look for that first place

that you're going to put your foot and

gain some traction and gain stability

and then maybe look once you plant that

foot and you're leaning on that on that

area of the stone or the rock now look

for a place to put your hand now look

for look for a place where you can grab

a hold of something and pull yourself up

and you just want to look at it at it as

one step at a time type of thing and if

you only look at the next step what you

need to do to get to the very next level

to get to the very next step then the

task is not going to appear as daunting

and challenging and you're breaking it

down into how little pieces of palatable

pieces you're breaking it down into into

segments that you can kind of wrap your

mind around and it's simply a series of

those steps that eventually gets you to

the very top of the mountain so you know

if you're looking at becoming

financially successful if you're looking

to create time freedom and you're

looking to you know create a business or

sell a product or invent something

create something sell a service whatever

it is it's one step at a time baby steps

along the way look for the next foothold

look for the next place that you can

grab on and pull yourself up and slowly

but surely and steadily and consistently

climb that mountain and eventually

you're going to get to the top you know

are you going to slip and fall short are

you going to graze your knee and tear

your skin and bleed a little bit short

are you going to hit obstacles that seem

insurmountable short but the reality is

if you keep going you keep pressing on

and you don't let anything stop you

you're going to get past those obstacles

you're going to put the band-aid on the

bleeding beat and you're going to climb

and you're going to get to where you

want to go and that's the way you want

to look at creating success you want to

you still need that big dream you still

want to know that you want to get to the

top of the mountain and you want to do

it as quickly and easily as you can and

you still have to have goals you still

have to say okay I want to achieve you

know this level by this state and I want

to achieve this level by this date and

go after your goals and chase them with

tenacity but if you look at the entire

process and you look at just getting to

the top of the mountain sometimes people

think they can't do it and this is the

way to overcome that this is a way to

keep yourself from feeling overwhelmed

and giving up because the truth of the

matter is the only way you can fail the

only way you can fail is to give up on

yourself that's it you know you can try

to put your foot on that plateau and

slip off you can grab ahold of the

branch or the the rope and lose your

grip but if you keep going and you keep

pressing on and you never give up you

will get to the top of the mountain you

will I promise you the only way to get

to not get to the top of the mountain is

to give up on yourself and to say it's

too hard it's too hard I can't do this I

give up I'll just go back to the base

lodge and go get myself a drink or I'll

go get myself a hot chocolate if it's

cold outside or you know I'll just I'll

take the easy path I'll just I'll just

get a job that I hate and sit in a

cubicle for the rest of my life even

though I don't find it fulfilling even

though I don't it doesn't I'm not

chasing my passion it doesn't fulfill me

that's the easy way out that's the easy

road out and guess what you get with the

easy road a very very average mediocre

life that in the end I don't think that

you're going to be really pleased about

you're going to look back at your life

with the regrets and there's nothing

more more sad than looking back at life

and regretting the decisions that you

made you know Prince a in his incredible

video about soaring and about climbing

the top of the mountain he talks about

you know when they when I questioned old

people on their deathbed they never

regretted the things that they did they

regretted the things that they didn't do

you know you can fail over and over and

over again but when you look back you'll

know that you tried your hardest and

maybe achieved something maybe you

didn't but you never regret those

decisions the only recisions you'll ever

regret are the ones that you didn't make

are the things that you didn't do that

the passions that you didn't pursue or

chase the dreams you didn't chase those

are the things that you regret so I beg

of you not to make those choices not to

make those decisions don't take the easy

way out take the baby steps get started

now when when is the time you should

start the time is right now no excuses

start right now and the only way that

you can get to the top of the mountain

is keep moving forward one step at a

time baby steps and eventually you'll

achieve your goal of reaching that top

of the mountain so I hope this resonated

with you guys today a little low-key not

my normal energy level but that's okay

and appreciate you guys watching

appreciate you guys jumping on here and

TGIF and I will see you on Monday

morning's commute take care of yourself

have a great weekend use this weekend in

a positive fashion use this weekend to

start something fantastic in your life

to change your life and to achieve your

dreams don't just settle don't be

mediocre go out chase your dreams and

start one baby step at a time take care

have a great weekend

Elon Musk Promises Human to Human and to Machine Telepathy wit - Duration: 8:58.

Elon Musk Promises Human to Human (and to Machine) Telepathy with Neuralink

As if solar-powered homes, and cars, and gigawatt factories along with his Space X ventures

werent enough already, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has another outlandish plan for

humanity a wizard-hat you might say, for our brains.

Tesla and Space X are already redefining humanitys future, but Neuralink, a platform that would

use futurist technology to augment our brains could alter our world even more.

With a 36K explainer showing us exactly how Neuralink supported brain-hacking will work,

Elon Musk has laid out plans to bring us to the future in a few short years.

Among other claims, Neuralink promises to make human to human telepathy possible.

This news makes some very excited, but others are wary.

Is Neuralink going to be bigger and better than Tesla, and Space X combined, or is it

a sneaky ploy to convince us to embrace a transhumanist future?

Musk has already laid the groundwork for this endeavor by saying that artificial intelligence

(AI) is smarter than us, and thereby dangerous, so we must become cyborgs to some degree ourselves

to survive.

He is arguing that we must merge with machines to continue human civilization.

Sounds about as transhumanist as it gets, but before we assume the worst, lets dive

a little deeper into Neuralink.

How Would Neuralink Work?

Musks concept is shared with sci-fi writers like Iain M. Banks in his novels about a galactic

civilization.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is also investing at least $60 million

over the next four years to develop implantable neural interface technology.

This program called the Neural Engineering System Design (NESD), aims to dramatically

enhance research capabilities in neurotechnology and provide a foundation for new therapies,

at least according to DARPAs website.

Musks Neuralink works much like the sci-fi version.

In the sci-fi version, a mesh-like device called neural lace would be implanted in a

person directly through their bloodstream, controlling the release of certain neurons

that control thought.

In Musks version, the neural lace seems to allow AI to work symbiotically with the

human brain some argue allowing human consciousness to take precedence over any

AI over-ride.

Signals would be picked up and transmitted wirelessly, but without any interference of

our natural neurological processes.

Essentially, it would be like the movie Limitless on steroids instead of a pharmaceutical

upgrade, it would be a digital brain upgrade.

For instance, imagine writing and sending texts just using your thoughts.

Nanotechnology experts have already developed an ultra-fine mesh of electronics that can

seamlessly merge with the brain, but there are also PSI experiments showing that human

beings can already communicate telepathically without any AI interference and technological

enhancement.

Declassified documents have shown that the government has extensively studied human telepathy,

telekinesis and other woo-woo abilities, proving that these are not mere contrivances

of wishful thinkers, but actual traits which are already inherent within us.

Transhumanist vs. Transcendental

This brings us to the transhumanist vs. transcendental argument which has now become more important

than ever.

Firstly, any AI technology can be manipulated to control the end-user.

Weve already learned that the deep state is using current technologies like our cell

phones, computers, and televisions to guide our thinking, if not outright brainwash us,

and spy on us, so it begs the question whether we should trust technology companies, even

those with seemingly good intentions like Elon Musks Neuralink, to hack into

our brains.

Secondly, person-to-person telepathy is a birthright, some would argue, that has been

deeply suppressed by dumbing-down our past heritage, clogging us up with brain-altering

pharmaceuticals, toxins in vaccines, GMO foods, pesticides, herbicides, fluoridated water,

etc.

It is a documented fact that the pineal gland, the tiny gland located in the center of the

brain is responsible for telepathic communication.

If this gland is calcified beyond recognition due to our environmental conditions, many

of us who might already be showing high-level mastery of telepathy will not do so.

Weve basically been given a light lobotomy.

Brain hacking has already happened, you might say, and not for the better.

Many ancient traditions have taught that we dont need any AI or fancy technology to

tap into the tech that already exists within us.

As we raise our conscious awareness, not only can we communicate with others seamlessly,

we can even influence material reality.

The Yoga Sutras specifically mention obtaining powers called siddhis which include

clairvoyance, clairaudience, telepathy between people, and telepathy between animals, for

instance.

There also exists a text known as the Nine Yin Manual, that is a compilation of numerous

scrolls and ancient scriptures pertaining to psychic powers, healing techniques, martial

arts classics and Taoist philosophy.

It was compiled by Huang Shang on the commission of Emperor Huizong during the Song Dynasty.

The ancient shamans of the Aboriginal culture could speak not only with people using telepathy

but with spirit entities.

You can read texts which are direct translations of accounts provided in the Aboriginal language

by three Central Australian shamans, referred to commonly as traditional healers or

clever people in Aboriginal English and as ngangkari in the native Pitjantjatjara.

These are but a few of the many esoteric texts which humanity must heed before accepting

the transhumanist agenda to become a cyborg.

Before we agree to having entities like DARPA, or even Musk insert nanotech AI in us, shouldnt

we revisit the wisdom of our ancient past?

This might save us from another possibility that once we become human-machine cyborgs,

we will have made humanism truth, beauty, liberty, and equality completely obsolete.

It is a mistake to think we can augment ourselves without humility and grace, no matter how

advanced our material technology.

SynthEdit 1.2 Tutorial 9 - The Low Frequency Oscillator - Duration: 4:46.

Another way we can modulate signals in our synth, is by creating an LFO, or Low Frequency

Oscillator.

Let's take a look at how to get a LFO setup in SynthEdit 1.2.

In the last couple of videos, we used an ADSR envelope to modulate the volume of the notes

we played.

Another way that we can modulate signals is with a Low Frequency Oscillator.

Earlier, we used an oscillator to actually produce sound, but a LFO is an oscillator

that provides a continuously cycling signal which does not produce sound, used to modulate

parts of our synth, like the volume, or the pitch.

If used on an instrument's pitch, a LFO can be used to simulate vibrato.

To setup a LFO, first add a container inside of the Synth container.

In fact, let's name the container with the synth in it, to Synth.

If I close down the window, and reopen, the name will update, Synth.

Now, add a container inside of the Synth container, and rename it to LFO.

Double click on the LFO container to open it up.

There won't be any inputs to the LFO, only an output, so I'll move the IO mod to the

right side of the container.

Let's add an oscillator to this container, so open up waveform, and select Oscillator.

We want to be able to select the waveform that the oscillator uses, so we need to add

a list entry module to be able to select it.

Go to controls, select List entry, and hook it up to the waveform plug.

There are two values we can adjust with an LFO, the rate and the depth.

The rate is how fast the modulation repeats, and the depth determines the amount that the

signal is modulated.

To control these values we need two sliders.

I'll name the first one Rate, and the second one Depth.

Hook the Rate slider up to the pitch plug on the oscillator.

Under parameters, set the low value to negative ten, and the high value to 0.

To control the depth, we want to multiply the value that the oscillator is producing

by the value provided by the slider.

To multiply values, we can use the Level Adjust module.

You can find Level Adjust under Modifiers.

Add the Level Adjust module to the LFO container, and connect the audio out on the oscillator

to the Input 1 plug on the Level Adjust, and then hook the Depth slider up to the Input

2 plug.

Finally, connect the output on the Level Adjust to the IO Mod.

At this point, the Depth slider is producing a range of voltage between 0 and 10 volts.

That is a bit too much for our LFO.

You can leave the max value to 10 if you'd like, but it'll sound better if you lower

it.

You'll get a much more subtle effect.

I'll set the maximum value of the depth slider to 2.5 volts.

All we have to do is connect the output on the LFO container to the signal we'd like

to modulate.

I'll hook it up to the pitch of the oscillator.

If I play a note, you can hear how the LFO has affected the signal.

If I turn the rate down, the LFO takes a longer period of time to complete one cycle.

If I turn the rate up, but turn the depth down, I can get a subtle vibrato effect.

And with the shape, we can choose the waveform we'd like to use to modulate the signal.

A sine wave gives a smoother sound for vibrato.

The LFO is a commonly used component in modular synthesis, as it can add a lot of life to

a sound.

You can get some really crazy and drastic effects, if you put in some higher depth values.

Don't forget, the LFO can be hooked up to any signal you'd like to modulate.

You could modulate the pitch, the volume, pan a signal left and right, anything else

you can think of.

Annabelle the Doll: The Origins - Duration: 20:11.

The year was 1970.

For her 25th birthday, Deidre Bernard received what, at the time, would have appeared a quirky

and fun present - a Raggedy Ann doll.

Her mother had given it to her in the hope that it would bring cheer to her daughter's

apartment whilst she was studying to become a nurse.

The gift was well-received.

The following morning Deidre placed the doll on her bed, with its arms and legs stretched

out.

However, after just a few days of this new routine, Deidre started to notice something

peculiar: every morning she would leave her Raggedy Ann doll seated with limbs stretched

out, yet, every night she would return to find the doll's arms and legs in different

positions.

Sometimes the doll's legs would be crossed.

Occasionally its arms would crossed and resting in its lap.

Then, there were the times when Deidre would find the doll's arms pointing outwards,

almost as though it was silently gesturing to something…

The doll's activity grew odder still.

It began to move to different rooms of its own accord.

It was at this point that everyone in the apartment began to feel the eerie effect of

the Raggedy Ann doll.

One night Deidre returned home with her roommate Lara Clifton, also a trainee nurse, and her

fiance Cal Randell.

Upon opening the door, they found the doll kneeling before them on a chair.

It sat there, staring at them with its big, black eyes.

Despite having been left, as usual, on Deidre's bed, the doll had moved.

Bothered by the doll's inexplicable relocation, they moved the doll and tried to make it kneel

again.

However, as the rag doll had no joints with which to kneel, each time they positioned

it, it flopped over.

The only conclusion they could draw was that some force had been keeping the limp legs

of the doll in the kneeling position.

From then, the occurrences grew stranger still.

Notes, written in pencil on parchment paper, began to manifest randomly around the apartment.

The messages included phrases like "help us" or "help Cal".

Strangely, neither Deidre or her roommates could link these messages to an emergency

or urgent situation to attend to at the time.

Not only that, none of them kept pencils or parchment paper anywhere in the apartment.

Assuming that someone was breaking into their home to play a trick on them, Deidre and Lara

began leaving marks around windows and doors.

They also rearranged furnishings, all in the hope that, if anyone did enter the apartment,

they would leave a trace.

All was to no avail.

The doll continued to teleport from room to room and change its posture frequently One

day, they arrived home to find the back of the doll's hand covered in something which

they could only discern as blood.

Its hands were bloody, with three distinct spots of blood on its chest.

Understandably, the young women were terrified.

In need of resolution, Deidre and Lara contacted a psychic medium for help.

The clairvoyant claimed to have channeled the spirit of a seven-year-old girl from the

doll.

It was said that she used to play in the area, long before the houses were built, back when

all that was there were fields.

Many happy hours were passed in childish innocence until, all of a sudden, it mysteriously came

to an end.

Since her death, the child spirit had wandered the fields.

Once the apartments were built upon them, its halls became a lonely place for her to

haunt.

The pace of modern life meant everyone was at work all the time, leaving the spectral

girl with no one to play with.

But then, one day, two young women moved in and brought with them a playful looking Raggedy

Ann doll.

Finally she had something to play with, and more so, young people who would be more sympathetic

and allow her to play with them.

Through the vessel of the psychic medium, the spirit girl asked if she could live in

the doll and be with Deidre and Lara.

Touched by her story, the two women said yes to the little girl, whose name was Annabelle

Higgins.

That was when the haunting truly began.

The doll became Annabelle, and the two young women started to treat it like a living, breathing

being.

It was no longer a doll, but Annabelle - a young and lonely girl.

Regardless of the nurses' compassion, Cal, Lara's fiance, was convinced that no good

would come from this.

He saw it as a voodoo doll of sorts, whose ambition was to trick and take advantage of

them.

Annabelle saw that he was a threat, and so she turned her malevolent gaze upon him.

In the weeks that followed, Cal was plagued with nightmares and ill feelings.

One night he awoke to see the doll Annabelle gliding over his semi-conscious body.

Before he could react, its hands were around his neck.

The doll's big, black eyes stared into his, as its grasp sought to sap the life from Cal's

body.

As hard as he pushed against Annabelle, the doll would not move - it was as if he were

pushing a wall.

After much effort, Cal managed to free himself.

However, Annabelle would not forget his insult so easily.

Soon after that incident, Cal was alone with Lara one night in the apartment.

After hearing a noise coming from Deidre's bedroom, Cal went to investigate the source

of the sound.

There was nobody in there, except for Annabelle, which had been tossed on the floor in the

corner of the room.

Alone, he walked over to the doll.

It was then that he claimed he was physically attacked: doubling over in pain, Cal felt

the searing sensation of seven "claw" marks being etched into his chest.

When Lara found him, there was blood "all over his shirt".

By now, it was becoming increasingly clear that Annabelle's attacks were escalating,

and that all of their lives were in danger.

Deidre, Lara and Cal contacted their local priest.

He in turn contacted his superiors, who passed on the story of Annabelle to the paranormal

investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Upon arriving at their apartment and listening to their testimonies, the Warrens diagnosed

the happenings as the result of demonic infestation.

There had never been an Annabelle; instead, it was all the trick of a demonic, "inhuman

spirit" delivered through the mouth of an unsuspecting medium.

As Deidre and Lara had agreed to let the entity possess the doll, it had received the permission

required to be able to inflict harm.

The Warrens further stated that if the situation had continued unchecked, the demonic entity

would have probably killed them all within a "week or two".

Thus, Ed contacted the priest and requested an exorcism of the apartment.

The priest duly exorcised and blessed the apartment and its residents.

At Deidre's request, the Warrens took the doll home with them.

Whilst Deidre, Lara and Cal were now free of the malevolent entity, for Ed and Lorraine

it was only the beginning.

Annabelle was placed in the back seat of the car.

Within no time at all, the Warrens felt the presence of the demonic spirit in the car

with them.

Angry, it plagued the car, making it stall and causing the power steering and brakes

to fail.

At times, Ed claimed he lost all control of the car.

Several times during the drive, they came close to a fatal accident.

The third time that the car stalled, Ed pulled out a vial of holy water from his equipment

bag and splashed the demonic doll with it.

For the rest of the car journey home, the demonic spirit did not bother them.

Once home, Ed placed Annabelle in a chair next to his desk.

The Warrens have stated that over the next few days, the doll levitated and teleported

between different rooms of the house.

Not only that, one time whilst home alone, Lorraine reported hearing "loud, rolling

growls that reverberated throughout the house".

On one occasion, a priest visited to talk with the Warrens about their recent case involving

Annabelle.

During the discourse, the priest picked up the doll and said:

"You are just a rag doll, Annabelle.

You can't hurt anything."

With a laugh, Ed warned him not to say such a thing again.

When it was time for the priest to leave, Lorraine took special care to tell him to

drive carefully.

She claimed that her clairvoyance had "discerned tragedy for that young priest."

A few hours later the priest's car was totaled in a near fatal car accident after his brakes

had failed.

In the years that followed, more incidences of paranormal phenomena were said to have

occurred around Annabelle, including at least one death.

The situation became so dangerous that Ed and Lorraine had Annabelle encased in a glass

box, with the warning:

"Positively do not open."

Such is the tale of Annabelle the doll.

This is the story that has been recounted by various writers, most notably Gerald Brittle,

who based his book on the Warren's own case files and exclusive interviews with the husband

and wife duo.

In the years that have followed, the tale, despite its almost fantastical elements, has

been presented as unquestionably true.

In 2014, these allegedly true events inspired the prequel to the much-beloved Conjuring

horror movie.

However, the actual evidence for Annabelle the doll being infested by an inhuman demonic

spirit is scant.

Beyond the testimonies of the Warrens and a Raggedy Ann doll locked away with a warning

written in scary font, there is little to prove the truth of the story.

Certainly, even confirming the names of those involved is a difficult task.

Depending on where one looks, Deidre changes into both "Donna" and "Debbie".

Asides from these inconsistencies, the Warrens initial handling of the cases raises alarm

bells.

When they first met with Deidre and the others, little or no evidence was collected.

Their testimonies were taken at face value, meaning that demonic infestation was the first,

and only, conclusion to be drawn.

Of course, one can argue that Lorraine's clairvoyance allowed her to confirm what they

said.

But, is this really enough to convince skeptics?

Whilst Deidre, Lara and Cal can be said to have had no motive to lie, misinterpretation

or misremembering were never consider a possibility by the Warrens.

As for the spiritual relief felt after the priest exorcised the apartment, this could

be attributed to the natural positive effect - regardless of the situation - of a priest's

presence to the religious.

With such a shaky base, the most cynically minded might even question the very existence

of Deidre, Lara and Cal in the first place.

Certainly, it is not necessarily a wise policy to automatic trust the word of the Warrens.

Ed and Lorraine Warren have always been regarded as sincere and kind-hearted people.

However, since founding the New England Society for Psychic Research in 1952, their work has

attracted much criticism and controversy.

Indeed, they profited greatly from book sales, ticket-only evening events, tickets sales

to their exclusive museum, and $5,000 lectures they conducted in the 1990s.

All this being said, it is unfair to deny the couple an income.

After all, Ed and Lorraine dedicated much time to their paranormal research - it would

have been impossible for them to have explored all the cases they did had they not treated

it as a job.

Even to this day, at the age of 90, Lorraine is still active, hosting the occasional lecture

and evening event.

Providing that the Warrens were honest and professional in their research and fair in

their fees, it is unreasonable to criticise them for making a living.

Yet, it is precisely the matter of honesty and professionalism which has aroused the

suspicions of some who have encountered the Warrens.

The Warrens' occult museum is claimed to be the "oldest and only museum of its kind",

having attracted attention from across the globe.

Undoubtedly, it is the jewel of the Warrens work.

It is in this museum that Annabelle is housed.

During an interview sometime before Ed passed away in 2006, Ed and Lorraine showed many

of the items in their collection to an interviewer.

One of the objects discussed was an alleged original "Books of Shadows", the Necronomicon.

In spite of Ed's assertion that the

Necronomicon book contains English translations of old and dangerous incantations, it is widely

known to be a fictional grimoire published by an unknown author in 1977.

In the years afterwards, it was independently denounced as fraudulent by many members of

the occult community.

By stitching together fiction with material from older sources, the book is "a well-constructed

hoax", being known to have duped several wannabe paranormal practitioners, including,

it seems, the Warrens.

Not only is the Necronomicon a literary hoax, but the claim that it is a Book of Shadows

is misleading.

Rather than be a collection of ancient and dangerous spells and rituals, Books of Shadows

are associated with the Neopaganism movement of the 1940s and 50s, and usually contain

religious texts and white magic.

For someone who made a career off paranormal research, investigations and knowledge of

the occult, it seems like quite a rookie mistake for Ed to have made.

As such, some have drawn the conclusion that the "Necronomicon" "Book of Shadows",

and many of the other items in the Warrens' Occult Museum, are merely the stuff of Halloween

horror stories - juicy morsels of sensational horror which serve the purpose of drawing

in visitors to their museum.

Annabelle the doll, an item in that museum, could very well serve this same purpose.

Yet, as serious a folly as it might seem for a pair of paranormal experts to present a

well-known hoax as real, let us not judge too harshly.

After all, every now and again everyone makes mistakes: human errors should not be what

defines our intellect or our ability to scrutinise.

Perhaps it is more prudent, then, to investigate the ethics of the Warrens.

It is here, however, that possibly the most damning piece of evidence against Ed and Lorraine

can be found.

In 1992 novelist Ray Garton published the book, "In a Dark Place: The Story of a True

Haunting".

The focus of the story, a possession case involving the Warrens, would eventually go

on to inspire the 2009 horror film "The Haunting in Connecticut".

The story told of the Snedekers, a family whose home was possessed by ghosts and demons.

According to the book, the grip which these dark entities had on the family was so strong

that the family were sexually molested by the beings.

However, the extent of the "truth" behind this "true" story is questionable, with

much of the evidence against the Warrens coming from the author himself.

During an interview for "Horror Bound" magazine, Garton explained how he worked closely with

both the Warrens and the family whilst writing the book.

However, after interviewing the family members about their experiences, the novelist encountered

a problem:

"I found that the accounts of the individual Snedekers didn't quite mesh.

They couldn't keep their stories straight.

I went to Ed with this problem.

'Oh, they're crazy,' he said….

'You've got some of the story — just use what works and make the rest up…

Just make it up and make it scary.'"

In the interview, Garton admitted that he did what Ed told him.

"I used what I could, made up the rest, and tried to make it as scary as I could."

Perhaps it is all slander.

Either way, the claims of Garton and other instances of doubt, do tarnish the trustworthiness

of the Warrens' word.

And, unfortunately, in the case of Annabelle, the Warrens' word is all we have.

As such, the case of Annabelle the doll can only be regarded as, at best, dubious.

What DAC is the best? - Duration: 8:13.

"What is the best DAC?"

This is a question I am asked frequently,

where DAC can be substituted for other equipment I review.

Sometimes even equipment I have never reviewed, like cables and headphones.

So time for a clear answer.

I do understand the question.

Audio can be - and often will be - hard to judge by ear if it's not your profession.

With the internet changing the retail channel you often can't even listen to equipment

anymore if you want the bargains - and who doesn't.

But the internet does offer even less certainty.

There are quality brands that only sell over the internet to keep the price low -

or at least lower than when going through the classic retail channel.

But there are also crooks that buy cheap junk, stick a label on it plus a description that

uses all the right fashion words.

Want an example?

A linear power supply is known for improving the sound quality of audio.

But when we speak of a linear power supply,

we mean a linear power supply that was designed for audio.

A simple one, like the Audiophonics I reviewed, will set you back € 90, a very good one,

like the sBooster I reviewed, € 300.

But the iFi iPower was just as good as the Audiophonics

while it was a switching mode power supply.

Browse the web and you will find linear power supplies for less than € 20.

How good those are, is hard to say.

But I won't buy one for review for common sense tells me

that it costs less than proper parts would cost.

If it looks like a rat, smells like a rat and sounds like a rat, it's a rat.

So you might ask again: "What's the best?"

The honest answer is: that depends.

Whether equipment is to your liking depends on a number of factors that can be divided

into two categories: you and your environment.

Your auditory system can be divided into two categories again: physical and cognitive.

The physical aspect concerns your ears: the outer shell, the ear drums, the small bones

called hammer, anvil and stirrup, the oval window in the organ of Corty and the hair

cells in the Eustachian tube.

The quality of the physical part is not only defined by your genes

but also by the care you take to protect it.

See my videos on hearing loss.

The cognitive part also is partly defined by your genes but for a large part depends

on what you learn over the years.

This means there is a social factor, a geographical factor and so on.

Especially during adolescence many references are set concerning social behaviour, morality

and also musical taste.

With that musical taste preferences for particular sound might develop.

Some musical taste might prefer a bass heavy sound as where another musical taste might

demand for very low distortion on voices, and so on.

The 'You factor' alone already makes it impossible to give personal advice

without thorough investigation.

And then there is the environmental factor.

Again, this factor can be split up into two sub-factors:

your stereo set-up and your listening room.

In many cases a stereo is built from several components

that might or might not work together ideally.

One component might compensate for the shortcomings of another component.

Sometimes even changing a more expensive product for a cheaper one might give better results.

Want an example?

At theHBproject.com/en/about my three reference sets are listed.

The lovely Acoustic Energy New Reference speakers in setup 2 sound great when driven by the

Marantz KI Lite amp in that set.

But when I connect these speakers to the NAD C361BEE amplifier, they sound clearly less

than the far cheaper Mordaunt-Short Avant 902 speakers due to the mismatch between the

Acoustic Energy's and the NAD.

And to avoid misunderstandings.

In its price range the NAD amp is by far my favourite.

There are three ways to overcome this problem:

buy all equipment from one sole reputable manufacturer,

have a reputable dealer combine a set for you

or investigate yourself what might combine well.

The first solution might be the least economical but easiest way.

the last might be the most economical but hardest way.

And if you make mistakes, the last solution might turn out to be the most expensive in the end

but it might also teach you more about audio equipment.

The listening room is another defining factor.

In fact, you could see it as a part of your stereo.

The size of the room no only dictates the needed acoustic output - how loud can it play -

but also whether you - for instance - better buy monitor speakers than floor standing speakers

and use a subwoofer of the lows.

If your listening room also is the living room, there are other limitations that come into account.

Aesthetics might limit the freedom to place speakers.

For the same reason acoustic treatment might be a bridge too far.

By the way, I rather have too little acoustic treatment than too much.

But you might have another opinion.

Does that render my reviews worthless?

I hope not.

Equipment I review has been carefully selected and when it appears to be disappointing I

will not spend days of production time to tell you that in a video.

This means that in almost all cases reviewed equipment is worth considering.

I try to indicate the quality of the sound by describing how that device performs in

my three reference set-up's.

If possible, I even describe it in more detail.

But if you want me to give you rock solid advice on what to buy, I might have to work

several days with you to find out.

Unfortunately I can't spare the time to do that unless I would charge you at rather

high hourly rates so I can hire people to do the video post and publishing work for me.

Since we're talking money now, I would appreciate it if you would support this channel through Patreon.

The advantage of working on line is that publishing is relatively cheap and it's a big market.

The disadvantage is that the distance between you and me is rather big and you might not

realise I do this for a living.

A subscription to the e-publishing version of a hifi magazine will set you back $ 15 a year,

the paper version even over $ 80.

I would already be happy if you would support the channel with $ 1 per month.

That will cost you $ 12 per year and and gives you access to extra patron-only videos.

It also makes possible for me to remain independent.

You find the link in the show notes.

My name is Hans Beekhuyzen, thank you for watching and see you in the next show or on

theHBproject.com.

And, whatever you do, enjoy the music.

Mock Mashed Potatoes - Easy Garlic Ranch Cauliflower Mash Recipe - Duration: 2:29.

Hey everybody and welcome to the video.

Today we are going to be making Garlic Ranch Cauliflower Mash.

Now I'm usually a fan of cauliflower but somehow this is so much more delicious than

I expected it to be while staying easy to make and low in calories.

I'm sure you've all heard of cauliflower as a substitute for mashed potatoes.

Cauliflower will never be as good as real mashed potatoes but this is the first Mock

potato recipe I've tried that has actually tasted good.

I hope you all enjoy, be sure to like the video and subscribe if you did and would like

to see more.

Up first we want to fill a large frying pan with about 3/4" of water and bring it to

a boil.

While we're waiting, we're going to chop our cauliflower into smaller pieces. Try and

make the pieces as similar in size as you can, I failed at this miserably and made a

huge mess in the process.

Dump the cauliflower into the pan, cook on medium high and cover for 20-30 minutes or

until the cauliflower is soft.

Next we're going to make some chicken to go with the mash while it's cooking. These

are sliced thin, so we want to season both sides and cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for

about 20 minutes.

Now that our cauliflower is done, we want to remove all of the excess moisture. Dump

it into a mesh strainer over the sink. Dump it onto a a paper towel and press to squeeze

out as much of that water as you can.

Dump our now dry cauliflower a mixing bowl or pan along with fat free sour cream, green

onion, powdered ranch seasoning, garlic, and pepper. Mash the cauliflower with a fork and

mix all of the ingredients together, and that is it.

Using the powdered seasoning you get all the ranch flavor without the ridiculous amount

of calories that goes into regular ranch dressing.

Aside from my cauliflower getting a little browned from not putting enough water into

the pan, this came out so good.

For a big serving it ends up only being about 90 calories, or 350 calories for the entire

pan.

I hope you give this one a try, be sure to let me know if you do. Thank you all so much

for watching. Until next time, have a good one.
