This is a short introduction to Iris, the safest browser for Children.

In this video, we will see

how Iris helps you to make the web, safe for your Children.

Let's go through the three most important features of Iris.

#1. Intelligent Content Filtering

Iris has this unique ability, to scan each and every page a child visits

and block all inappropriate pages.

For example, let's say, your child does a school project - about the reproductive system

- and checks for it, in Wikipedia.

As you see, the page is child-friendly...

There isn't anything inappropriate.

But, on a closer look - on the first line

we can see a link to "Sex organs", which is not suitable for Children.

If a child, clicks on the link -

- Iris understands that, the content should not be allowed

and blocks it, immediately.

#2. Collaborative Safety

Let's go to YouTube, with Iris -

- and scroll down to the very bottom.

Here, you can see an option called "Restricted mode".

Iris turns this option on, by default -

- and tells YouTube to show, only child-friendly videos.

Like with YouTube, Iris also leverages the safety features provided by

popular services like Google, Microsoft Bing etc.

#3. Domain Blacklisting

Iris completely blocks a little more than 10 million web sites,

that deliver adult content like videos, pictures etc.

eLearn Presents: How to Ask for Help!!!! - Duration: 3:38.

It happens to everyone…

You're going about your work and then...

You get stuck!

You're frustrated!

You can't figure it out!

What can you do?!?!

Well, first, take a deep breath.

It's okay to get stuck.

Actually, it's a good thing because it gives you an opportunity to figure out something

new.

So when you feel like giving up, just take a moment and remind yourself it's tough

because you are learning something new.

And when in eLearn, there are many things you can do to ask for help and to stay focused

and motivated while online:

Post a comment in classroom for other students to see. There is a section under your lesson

where you can type questions and comments for other students to see and reply to.

Check this section regularly when you need help or when you can try and help someone

else.

Remember that we learn from each other.

So posting questions and chatting with other students is a great way to work together online.

Talk to your coach. Your coach is your guide to help you navigate eLearn.

If you are stuck, ask a coach and they can either help or point you into the right direction.

You can look up your coach by going to www.elearnclass.org.

On your profile card, you can lookup who your coach is and how to email them.

Private message a teacher in classroom. Your teachers are only a few keystrokes away.

If you are stuck, use google classroom to get in touch with your teacher.

Just login to Classroom, open the assignment, and send a direct message!

Use Google Hangouts links inside Classroom Docs. In each lesson, there is a link at the

bottom that will take you directly to hangouts for real time chats and videos from teachers

who can help you with your lessons.

For example: Math Chats!

Post on Facebook. Social media can be used when you are stuck to ask fellow classmates

for advice.

We have many different facebook groups you can go to and participate in.

Find some of the links in the description of this video.

When asking for help, it's usually best to take a screenshot and attach to an email

or post so that people can help you better.

To take a screenshot on PC, just press the print screen button.

On Mac, press command+shift+f3 all at the same time.

For Apple phones and tablets, press the home button and power button at the same time.

And for Android phones, swipe the side of your hand across the screen.

For other operating systems, use the link in the description.

Remember, everyone gets stuck every once in awhile.

So don't give up or lose hope.
