Fastest Way To Get Faster: Take'r For A Rip, Eh? - Drum Lesson - Duration: 11:03.

- Hey everyone, it's Jared here in my 10th

and final lesson in the Fastest Way To Get Faster series

There's not doubt about it, you've put in a lot of hard work

and today we're gonna take'r for a rip, eh?

And that's obviously I got to get a little bit

of the Canadian humor in there.

Everyone always mocks us for saying aboot

and they mock us for saying eh and take her for a rip.

Canadians are kind of like that but I think

we're all just really, really nice

and we just want to get along and be really really friendly

with everyone, so maybe we use a little bit

different language like that.

Now what I mean for take'r for a rip, eh,

is that we've learned so many cool techniques

and so many cool things over the course of this series,

and we're gonna kind of take them all for a rip here.

We're gonna put them all together

and see how they sound when we combine different techniques

and combine different concepts.

So the first exercise, we're gonna combine stuff

from The Illusion Of Speed.

We're gonna make it a little bit more challenging though.

So we're gonna start with one group of 16th notes

on the snare drum, right hand bass drum left hand base drum,

then we're gonna play a group of 32nd notes,

alternating hands with the kick drum in between,

then we're gonna go back to 16th notes,

and then then we're gonna go to 16th note triplets.

So we're gonna use three different note values in one bar.

Here we go.

The next exercise we're gonna go back

and study some of the concepts that we did

in Do You Even Math, which was the sequel of the original.

So what would this be called then, the threequel?

Threequel?

I don't know, whatever.

So in order to get this you just want to start

nice and slow.

I'll play it for you much slower than I'm even doing

the slow tempo.

So once you practice the sequence of notes

and the 16th note triplets, how they relate

to the 8th note triplets, and when everything comes in

it's gonna be much easier for you to actually play

the exercise and get it up to speed.

If you need to just print off the sheet music

and write the counts above the notes.

Now you could also just take this as an example

of what you could do.

So if you want to incorporate fives

and sevens as 16th note triplets, you can do that,

just write your own exercise or just practice playing fives

and then practice playing sevens.

So now I'll play this exercise for you both slow and fast.

Here we go.

And the final exercise in the Fastest Way To Get Faster

series, don't start crying, don't.

Don't do this.

You said you wouldn't cry.

So the final exercise is played as 16th note triplets,

and here we're taking some concepts

from the Everything Is Cool When You're Part Of A Team.

We're playing stuff in unison.

We're also playing 16th note triplets

as groups of seven, five, and three,

both as 16th note triplets and 16th notes.

So again, if you need to print out the sheet music,

write the counts above it and just practice it

nice and slowly to start, that's totally fine.

I kind of recommend that.

But first I'm gonna play it for you at both slow

and fast tempos.

Here we go.

Now once you can play them each individually,

I'd encourage you to practice them in your practice session

for around five minutes each, and then start to play them

in sequence.

Now this is a real challenge, so like I said,

if you want to just kind of make up your own,

take'r for a rip type of thing, please do that,

make sure you share it with me, okay,

because I think you've learned a lot

and you've practiced a lot and you've got

all these new tools, now it's a matter of just applying them

and putting them into real world music.

So whether that's through these types of concepts

or whether that's through something completely different,

I encourage you to just kind of practice something

and really kind of push yourself to start using

all these tools.

So let me play it for you in sequence, both slow and fast.

Now that is the end of the Fastest Way To Get Faster series.

Now in each lesson I've given you specific instructions

on how long to practice each exercise,

how long to practice the sequence of exercises.

Now there's 10 lessons, so this is kind of like

a 10 day routine, or you could take it

and call it a 20 day routine and do each lesson

for two days, but it's really meant to be around 30 minutes,

20 to 30 minutes of practice every day.

It's not meant to encompass your entire routine.

If all you practice is going fast,

eh, you might have some struggles there.

I really encourage you to continue practicing

other stuff as well.

Start playing with other musicians,

start jamming along to some music,

start learning different styles,

listen to tons of music.

Hi, it's Mitch Daniels, bringing you some news from your university that's a little

out of the ordinary.

In the email below, you'll find written material that gives you full details, but I wanted

to introduce it with a personal word to the Purdue family about a historic step we're taking today.

In 1862, Abraham Lincoln and his allies gave birth to a new kind of university.

A land grant university, that would for the first time in history expand higher education

beyond the wealthy and the elites of society.

At Purdue, we try and never lose sight of our land grant mission.

We were put here to spread the benefits of higher education to all.

Many of you watching were the first to go to college in your family.

Others came from modest backgrounds and with Purdue's help, have risen to the top of your

chosen life pursuits.

Please remember this as you reflect with me for a minute about three realities of our times.

First, education no longer stops at high school or at age 22.

There are tens of millions among us without the post secondary education that's now so

necessary to a successful life.

We cannot honor our land grant mission in the 21st century while ignoring the needs

of these working men and women.

Second, online technology as a medium for learning is growing fast.

No one knows the direction or the full dimensions it will take, but we can be sure that it will

be larger than today.

By any measure, a university like ours will be at risk if it drifts into the future without

first-rate digital skills.

Third, Purdue today has only minimal online competencies.

We have just a few online graduate programs and after a rigorous and candid analysis,

we face the fact that we can not build the capabilities we need to bring undergraduate

degrees to those whose life circumstances will never fit our current on campus offerings.

We cannot truly fulfill our land grant mission unless we acquire these capabilities, and

I'm pleased to inform you, we have found a way to do so.

You can read the details in the message below, but, in essence, we've identified an online

education leader of high reputation, high integrity, and proven quality and expertise

when it comes to serving working adults.

Our trustees today have authorized its acquisition and conversion to a non-profit public university.

Up until now, Purdue has existed as a two level institution, with an elite research

flagship campus in West Lafayette, and regional campuses spread throughout our home state.

We'll now add the third level, for our third century.

The great challenge of bringing higher education to the missing millions and the surge of online

education are going to be two of the most important phenomena in higher education over

the next couple decades.

We intend that Purdue be a leader in both.

In ways that Boilermakers and others in the Purdue family of all ages and backgrounds

will feel very proud of.

I hope that after you have done so, you'll share our excitement about the dawning of

this new era of even broader service to our state and nation.

Tigers and take-back – the MoxCar Minute - Duration: 1:43.

The designer of Zoo Knoxville's new Tiger

Forest habitat, Johnson Architecture

hosted a party at the zoo for the

project's design-build team including

Partners and Blaine Construction. The

eagerly anticipated exhibit for the

endangered species opened to the public

this month and zoo-goers get up-close

views of Malayan tigers. " This playground

is a fitting tribute to Zae and it

Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and

Gerdau cut the ribbon on the Zaevion

Dobson Memorial Playground and Park

alongside Dobson's mother, Zenobia. The

play area serves the Lonsdale Homes

community and has named in honor of a

Young-Williams Animal Center started the

week just $1,500 shy of its $23,000

goal to purchase a new X-ray

machine and reached it with time to

spare. A generous board member matched

the goal dollar for dollar bringing the

total to $46,000. The 23-year-old

X-ray machine will be replaced with a

modern digital one for faster and better

treatment of injured animals. The Healthy

Living Expo is Friday and Saturday at

the Knoxville Convention Center, with

fitness, nutrition and health screenings.

Saturday, the expo is a site for National

Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Steel recycler Gerdau celebrated Earth

Day by hosting a fun activity for

Stretching For Splits - Duration: 3:13.

Hey guys it's Jess! Thanks for tuning in

to my channel! Today I am going to be

walking you through my basic stretching

routine. If for any reason you have any

questions at all please feel free to

leave a comment in the comment section

down below and I will do my very best to

help you out. I am going to be using my foam roller and

I'm going to using my original ballet

stretch band. It's just a giant looped rubber band

it's great for hooking around your feet.

Know that we are in our Russian split and we have

our ballet band on I just want to

make sure that you are placing your

ballet band in the right spot. You do not want to be placing

it on your tarsals which is your

toes or on the ball of your foot. You

want to place it just below the ball of

your foot. What you want to do is make

sure that your legs are in a good

turnout. Turnout just means that your leg

is turned at your hip so when you are

open up into the split you want to make

sure that your knees are pointing up. You

don't want your knees pointing in or all

the way backwards. You want them pointing

up. That is how making a good turnout

and that is the proper way to

stretch in a split. Make sure that when

you are in your splits that your seat

bone it completely on the floor. If you

ever are rolling too far forward

or anything. Or you're trying to

open up your legs up further than they can go

your seat will actually lift up off of the ground.

You do not want to do that because then you are not doing a true split.

channel I do need some good content to

go up on the channel and that's why I

reached a couple of youtubers tell them

you know what if you want to have your

I'll take some of your best segments and

this way we could reach out to you guys

the viewers and hopefully you guys like

what you see I try to quote quality

stuff from good people that need to have

some attention in the community okay

this is what happened it's completely

it's completely random completely out of

place while I'm going around it's

something that I known for a while and I

keep telling you guys as you can tell

from the title of course we are saying

shuffle gamer is exposed or whatever I

don't want you to go and show any hate

toward that youtuber at this youtuber

does something in a way that is like in

his eye that's the way to grow his

channel and sadly there's a lot of

people that are doing that this goes

back to what YouTube is going through

right now all this whole thing with the

ad revenue that's because you have

little kids on YouTube that are not

supposed to be here

they make up lies the makeup information

just for the hell of it to capture the

attention of the audience and they even

lie about contests that they do and

stuff now this came toward me from

somebody that got just scammed right now

he got scammed by shuffle gamer he was

and he reached out to me we documented

it and shuffle gamer never gave him the

account

he always said I'm gonna give you a

modded account I'm gonna give you a

modded account but when the dude won it

he told him you know because it's

against Rockstar policy I can't really

give you a modded account so the excuse

was completely bullcrap the dude was

very angry I documented it at the time

and they dude was very active on my

channel but lately he hasn't been active

sighs forgot his name on top of my head

hopefully if he does see this video he

does put his comment in the cut in the

comment section and you know go from

there but let me pull up some stuff here

I'm going to be like looking at the

computer as I'm talking to you guys

because this is what happened okay a

couple of days ago

shuffle gamers does a livestream and

these guys will need to a livestream

because they want donation and crazy

stuff like that they say we're going to

give a shark card on our live stream so

this dudes as you can see from his

Twitter message announced

another that means there was others

before I really do hope these people

that win shark cards and they don't get

anything they come forward and they let

us know his name is what at Melvin 2:5

and it's a big number right obviously

the Twitter account is probably made to

follow shuffle gamer because that's what

we always encourage you guys as

youtubers we say come follow us on

Twitter so we can interact so we can you

know kind of go further than just

youtube this way we can have more

interaction with each other so he

announced them right there

okay this happened on the 25th of April

the announcement of the shark card

winner seventeen people liked the post

it's really it's really sad because it

gets worse okay so from that point

Melvyn reached out to me and he said i'm

the winner of that shark card and

shuffle gamer is not giving me anything

he is not even giving me that the time

of day you know so I'm like listen

because I don't want to blame somebody

for something that's maybe not true but

he's known for that his track record

shows that before when he was doing the

modded accounts and other countless

shark card giveaway now I'm getting this

pause for one second here okay I want to

show you something very very important

shuffle gamer if YouTube agent do look

at his channel and they start noticing

that users are flagging his videos

because he is not giving away these

shark cards pay attention to that screen

right there that's off of YouTube policy

when we talk we talk you to policy so

this is a guy that's breaking their

policy rules and because of people like

this that's why the ad revenue that's

why people that do ads are gone from

YouTube because people that break rules

it wasn't exactly like this that made

the ads go away but this is a similar

thing that eventually as it becomes

bigger and bigger and maybe there is a

huge scam over a contest as companies

will be like you know what YouTube views

you obviously have no hold over this

thing these people are doing scams on

YouTube we don't want our companies to

show ads on youtubers like this so

people like this hurts the community all

around and I'm sure you guys understand

that a lot of GTE youtubers because of

the ad revenue is not there they're not

really putting time into that into the

game anymore the glitches are not there

as you know probably people are not

testing and stuff out because there is

no revenue and all the stuff that they

put on YouTube and it's just kind of

firing back at us right now okay so it

says right there it's number two there

is a ton of stuff by the way if you go

look at the policy it's overwhelming but

it says that your contest must be

conducted all prizes awarded as outlined

in

official rule now he is wrong on so many

things first of all he has no official

rule okay but we kind of let that go

because this is a child and at the same

time no one is going to read the contest

rules that much most youtubers we need

to a contest there is no contest rules

so we are breaking the rule on the first

aspect right there but the second one

and it's the most important since all

prizes awarded as outlined there is no

prizes awarded he never Awards anybody

anything and I want more people to come

forward hopefully when they see videos

like this and they speak and they say

you know what I was the winner of the

shark card I was the winner of the

modded account and he never gave me

anything like that now here's the thing

with shuffle gamer right shuffle gamer

is a young person right if you look at

lispy leafy that's another young person

that's why they glues together if you

look at JD rock also another young

person and these people don't know how

to get ahead in life sadly only by

scamming other people that's what they

learned they learned that if you scam

other people people are idiots people

don't talk they don't speak and you can

keep scamming them over and over and

over again and that's all you got to do

it's kind of upsetting because

eventually eventually and you know what

I mean we're in it right now you're

getting no ad revenue from YouTube

whatsoever so what does that say this

whole YouTube thing is not stable so

whether you're making some money right

now this is not going to keep going at

the same time you are going to carry

your life as a scammer as a person that

just likes to step on people you're not

going to get far in life that's what I'm

trying to say short-term gain long-term

disaster damage in your lifetime I don't

know how you're going to deal with the

wife or with a girlfriend or with

anything because all you know is to scam

people listen I encourage everybody that

God came to voice that's all voices you

know what I mean that's that's the whole

point of having a community when it

comes to gte but they call us gta5

youtubers they have a name for us that's

because there is a lot of stuff that

happens on this game a lot of people

that overstep the ground and we're known

as the gta5 youtubers whether people are

doing clickbait with DLC

or people doing fake contests like that

this stuff is associated with gta5 and

sadly we all get labeled the same thing

let's talk now about setting goals of

all the things that really helped

transform my life when I was 25 years

old met my mentor that original mentor

mr. Rochelle goal-setting really did

wonders for me the subject came up when

mr. Scholl said to me mr. Owen

let me see your current list of goals

and he said let's go over them he said

I've got some experience and let's talk

about it maybe I can give you some help

and I said to him I don't have a list he

said well if you don't have a list of

your goals he said I can probably guess

your bank accounts within your bank

account within a few hundred dollars

which he did and that got my attention

so here was my response you mean to tell

me if I had a list of my goals it would

make a difference in my bank account he

said a drastic difference so that got my

attention I thought well I've got to

learn how to set goals and when I

learned it changed my life forever now

I've been teaching it now all these

years trying to help people get a better

vision of the future

okay so make this note the future is

where we're going you know the past is

where ever been presence is where we are

and the future is where we're going and

if we can capture this moment in time

from our past to now and then from now

to a future more well designed with

better objectives and better purpose for

ourselves our family our business our

investments everything else then this

this moment in time will have become

extremely valuable so let me give you

first what really affects us all

number one were affected by the

environment in which we live were

affected by the physical environment I

was challenged with back in the thirty

days ,why not make the environment better

everywhere you go I learned mama taught

you know turn off the lights when you

check out of your hotel and you leave

the room before you leave turn out the

lights and I thought why do that and

here's what she said to make a

contribution that's so easy Wow

and if you could make a contribution

that is so easy that didn't cost you any

money and didn't cost you any time you

know didn't cost you a piece of your

life why not make the contribution

that's easy because if everybody did it

think of how much we would conserve

someone says well yes the hotel benefits

if you turn out all the lights and

here's the answer that sophisticated

people always have who cares

who

benefits if it benefits the hotel and if

everybody did it probably the cost of

the hotel room would come down so every

benefit you can give every benefit you

can share because here's what happens if

you learn to give you will what receive

maybe not in the manner in which you

gave maybe not in light time someone

will save energy for you because you

saved energy for them but in some

mysterious ways it always comes back to

us if you give you will receive in fact

here's what it says that for the

uneducated is a little bit strange it

says it's better to give than it is to

receive now see if you didn't understand

you would say that doesn't quite make

sense surely it would be better to

receive and to give the answer's no it

is much better to give than to receive

and here's why it's what we call being

in having intelligent self-interest

nothing wrong with self-interest as long

as you do it the intelligent way here's

the key giving it's better to give than

it is to receive because giving starts

the receiving process so to act

intelligently

in your own self-interest which is good

it's much better to give than it is to

receive because if all of you do all you

do is receive that may be very limited

but if you give and giving starts the

receiving process coming your way from

unknown resources from unknown places

back it comes around to you because you

became a giver that's one of the unique

mysteries of life we give to receive and

it's better to give than it is to

receive so that's what mama said turn

out the lights make a contribution why

not make the easy ones here's what else

we talked about it at our lunch break

today to those who were there it raises

your self-esteem

plus your self-respect that you do

things that the average person doesn't

do maybe if they were taught they would

maybe if somebody mentioned it they

would but it's easy for most everybody

to just go on their way and if they're

not interrupted by a good idea that says

hey it's so easy to make a contribution

this one would be easy

turn out the lights when you leave the

hotel room and make a contribution

that's interesting

next is the phrase in terms of

environment always leave something

better than you found it I talked to a

man one time we rented out a long list

of of apartments and he said Mr on you

wouldn't believe it but when somebody

rents an apartment they usually leave it

worse than when they rented it I said

you've got to be kidding he said no a

high percentage of people leave it

trashed if they stay six months or stay

one year they leave it trashed not just

not better but trashed

I said that's impossible why would

anyone do that mama said to me no leave

it but better than you found it see

that's just a commitment to your own

self-esteem and why not do it if it

makes a contribution to your self-esteem

it's called intelligent self-interest

intelligent self-interest self-interest

says I wish to be ruler over many and

intelligent self-interest says I

understand how to do that be faithful in

the amounts or smile if you'll take care

of the few we will someday give you a

position of very high importance over

many but if you don't be disciplined

when the amounts are small why would we

trust you in the amounts or lives Brian

makes you better

why would you why would life give you a

fortune to manage if you couldn't manage

the gifts of a few interesting

philosophy to consider okay your own

self-interest leave the contribution I'm

even aware of it when I leave a

restaurant and I get me a toothpick

right and you take off the little

cellophane off the toothpick it's easy

to throw it by the cash register right

you're somewhere where looks like other

people have done the same mama said put

it in your pocket somebody sits along a

little piece of cellophane what

difference does it make it doesn't make

that much difference

only in your self-respect take your

trash home and deposit it how much does

it cost to clean up the trash on the

highways in America mega mega mega

millions wouldn't people take home their

own trash and deposit it there rather

than scatter it on the highways across

America and the answer is most people do

not it's so easy to throw it out the

window

but now add this it's so easy to keep it

in your car and have a few more points

in your favor on self-esteem feeling

good about yourself doing things that

most people don't do if everybody never

did it or a different country we would

have but it doesn't really matter you

say well if everybody's going to do it

watch your than I do it and the answer

is for your own dignity and for your own

self-esteem you do things that most

other people allow themselves to do that

you don't do

4 Leadership Tips for Employee Contribution - Duration: 8:43.

business number three the planning and

number for the decisions on the ground

and from our experience we know that

employees they really commit and they

really can identify with a

customer-centric strategy rather than a

financial-centric strategy so we do job

crafting, we sit down with employees

and work in their job descriptions and

highlight to the employee by

building into the job description why their job is

important to the company, why their

performance is important, why it matters,

why it matters to the customer and even

socially including why it matters to the community.

This is called job crafting is a

very very effective way of building

alignment. Another excellent strategy for

improving alignment that we use is

instead of doing performance appraisals

we do strategic alignment reviews

and this is a much more effective

way of using that time. Most

businesses will do an annual strategic

review and we then work with teams,

and individuals to show

them where they fit into that strategy

and what's expected of them, why their

job is important to that strategy, why

their work really counts. In this way

we engage with employees is this is an excellent

first step to increasing employee

engagement. The next step

that we recommend to businesses is that

they change their recruitment policy and

they hire people with what's called

"Learning agility." One of the best

ways that you can get employee

engagement in your business is to use

the right leadership style and the style

we really want to use is the

participative style and the delegate of

style. We want to delegate to employees

because by definition when we ask the

employee HOW to do the project we're

asking for their contribution and that's

employee engagement. The caveat to

that is that if you delegate the wrong

task or the wrong project to an employee

who's not capable of doing that project

it will be disaster and many leaders

make the mistake of overestimating the

ability to their employees. what does

that mean that means that the job of the

leader then becomes to be a teacher and

their job is to grow each employee in

terms of their maturity and their

expertise to the point where they can be

delegated to. For that you need to

hire people who can learn and we call

"Learning agility" so step number two

is to hire people who have strong

"Learning agility," a strong ability and

willingness to learn so that you can

grow them to the point they can be

delegated to and that will give you

employee engagement. The third step that

we use, our go-to shot is

"Ground up target setting." What this

means is is that the employees on the

ground are going to set the target

rather than a top-down target setting.

Most businesses will give a stretch

target of about 10% on each

strategic year however we do it slightly

differently. We measure the KPIs for each

business unit or each of the main

processes, we measure the operational

KPIs first we then present that

information to the teams. When we show

them their performance capacity. What we

then do is, in a workshop setting, is to ask

the employees to come up with the

strategy, "How are you going to improve

this KPI?" "What would you do?" "This is what

you can do with your current resources,

current level of expertise, the way

you're working at the moment. If you're

going to increase that [KPI], what would you do?"

They can then visualize and

imagine the

possibilities. "If we did this then

maybe we can increase that KPI." Once they

can visualize improvement we then ask them to set

the target. In my years of using this strategy

employees have never once set a target lower

than the targets set by the CEO or the

Department Head or business Owner.

What we also get from that is they

commit to the target, so we've engaged

them on the one hand

they're contributing and on

the other hand they're committing to a

target because they set the target. This

is a brilliant way to get employee

engagement and that's why it's Step

Number 3. Step Number4 is

"Managing Energy." This is quite a new

field and is somewhere where

we are going to be concentrating over the next

few months. Energy management

is an acceptance that each employee has

finite energy resources. The brain uses

sugar and people get tired. We

want employees to be energized at work

and have the energy to focus on each

project, execute that project to the

maximum their ability, and to enjoy doing

so almost in a play state. How to do

that, well it's not so easy! When in an

office environment not a sporting

environment here where the "In the zone,"

idea may be more associated so when we

train managers, and in our management and

leadership training and

we teach about energy management we're

really asking leaders to be aware of the

"Iincoming signals" A lot of

organizations that we work with now

use Line Messenger, Whatsapp Messenger

and increasingly Facebook too and of

course mobile phones and

iPhones where you've got email coming

into the employee all times of day including work

email. We teach leaders to be aware of

this and encourage that leaders now

work with timer and encourage their

employees to work to a timer too. We at

Motivo do 50 minutes of work then

10 minutes of renewal and rest time.

Working to a timer, what that does psychologically is

that it says to the employee

that "For this period you have a deadline,"

and we all know that when we work to a

deadline we we avoid all distractions

during that time. This encourages the

employee to just focus and get into that

"Zone," and block out all other all other

incoming signals so this is an excellent

way to get employee engagement in the

flow state and into the "Zone." The other

thing that we like to make companies

aware of is

the layout of their office. Most offices

now have an open plan format and have

done for many many years. We actually

find with some of our clients that many

employees now put on headphones to block

out the noise. That's indicative of how

they're feeling so to think about the

design of the office and whether it

allows employees to fully engage in

their work, to enjoy their work without

distraction, is becoming more and more of

an issue and somewhere where we will

focus at Motivo over the next few

months so watch out for a for a video on
