Here's your PlayStation news for the week.
A new in-game event was official revealed this week for Overwatch called Overwatch uprising.
The event takes place from now until May 1st and allows player to go back in time seven
years to play through Tracer's first mission in the form of a co-op brawl.
More than 100 new Uprising loot boxes have also been added to the game which highlight
the origins of other Overwatch characters including sprays of key moments in history
as well many new skins.
Blizzard also released a new free comic called "Uprising" on the games website that takes
place prior to the events of the brawl and features a look at the "rookie" Tracer.
Overwatch Uprising is available in game now until May 1st, 2017 for all Overwatch players.
A reveal trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II was leaked this week prior to its unveiling
at Star Wars Celebration 2017.
The trailer started with what is possibly a brief glimpse of the single player campaign
as it showed the partially rebuilt Death Star Exploding in front of an unknown solder with
the words "The Untold Soldiers Story" across the screen.
The trailer also stated that players will fight multiplayer battles across all eras
and featured a short clip of a battle between Darth Maul and Yoda as well as Rey and Kylo
Ren.
The trailer is expected to be officially revealed at Star Wars Celebration on April 15th 2017.
Naughty Dog revealed several new details this week about Uncharted: The Lost Legacy including
the release date of August 22nd, 2017 and a new cinematic trailer.
Naughty Dog also revealed that pre-orders from participating retailers will include
a free digital copy of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy for PS4.
Anyone pre-ordering the game from the PlayStation store will also receive an Uncharted: The
Lost Legacy PS4 theme designed by Traunt Pixel.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy follows Chloe as the main protagonist as she and Nadine search
for the fabled Tusk of Ganesh across India.
Again watch for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy coming to the PS4 on August 22nd, 2017.
Shannon Woodward revealed this week that she will be providing motion capture animations
for The Last of Us: Part II.
Shannon Woodward who most recently played Elsie on HBO's Westworld tweeted out a picture
of herself dressed in full motion capture gear alongside Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann
and stated " I am embarrassingly over-excited here because I'm peaking.
@Neil_Druckmann is letting me act in The Last of Us: Part II.
Neil Druckman, the Creative Director of The Last of Us: Part II then retweeted the picture
saying "doesn't look like anything to me" jokingly referencing a key scene in
the first season of Westworld.
Developer CCP Games released a new update for their PSVR title Eve: Valkyrie this week.
The new updated called Groundrush includes a new map called Solitude that takes pilots
out of open space and onto a planets surface creating new obstacles for players to navigate
while battling their opponents.
Co-op mode has also been expanded with this update to include two new modes, Control and
Carrier Assault.
Both modes include the same XP progression and rewards allowing players to choose the
mode of their choice and gain equal rewards.
Avatar animations have also been added to the game as well as a few tweaks to Valkyrie
Alpha league in the form of improved training modules and changes to multiplayer playlists.
The Groundrush updated is available now for free to all Eve: Valkyrie players.
Bethesda has announced that Elder Scrolls Online will be free to play this week until
April 18th, 2017 on the PS4.
Players will have access to the full Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited base game
as well as 500 crowns to spend in the crown store.
All progress and items obtained during the free week will carry over if you purchase
the full game which is also discounted this week.
The free week is designed to allow players to try the game and the many changes made
since launch, prior to the release of the highly anticipated Morrowind expansion
which hits stores on June 6th, 2017.
The free-to-play MMO Skyforge has officially ended the early access period and is now available
for the PS4 for free on the PlayStation store.
Skyforge is a sci-fi fantasy action MMO where players take control of an immortal guardian
who must fight off invading alien forces that threaten your home world of Aelion.
The game boasts 14 different unlockable classes which players can instantly switch between
allowing them to adapt to the battle at hand.
Skyforge also features a campaign as well several PVE and PVP game modes spread out
over 100 locations.
Skyforge is available now as free download for the PS4 on the PlayStation store.
Developer Flippfly announced this week that the PS4 version of Race The Sun will be getting
PSVR support added to the game in a free update on April 18th, 2017.
PSVR support will be added to all game modes as well as the ability to play the game in
first person mode.
A new mode called Sunrise will also be a added to the game which is designed to be a perfect
way to relax as all high scores and increasing difficulty functionality has been removed
from the mode.
Five new worlds have also been added as portal destinations and will be randomly selected
when entering a portal.
Remember that Race The Sun was free for PlayStation plus subscribers in May 2015, so you may already
have it added to your library and can enjoy the PSVR support for free on April 18th, 2017.
A new expansion called The Cloaked Ascendancy was released this week for Neverwinter on
the PS4.
In The Cloaked Ascendancy players will return to Neverwinter to find a group of evil mages
are preparing an all out attack on the cities citizens.
The expansion contains a new adventure zone and campaign, new sets of Artifact Weapons,
new companion gear, an arcane whirlwind mount as well as the new Spellplague Caverns Dungeons
featuring an epic version with new enemies and bosses.
Perfect World Entertainment also announced that all PlayStation plus subscribers will
have access to a free Mulhorand Weapon which will provide players who haven't yet reached
level 70 with a power boost.
Both The Cloaked Ascendancy and the free Mulhorand Weapon for PS Plus subscribers are available
now on the PlayStation store.
Mothership Entertainment revealed new information this week for their upcoming PS4 title Aven
Colony, giving gamers a closer look at the games main planet Aven Prime.
Players will be tasked with building a human city on Aven Prime where they will need to
manage people and resources as they build up the city.
Fortunately as time progress new colonists will arrive to aid them in their efforts.
The games environmental effects were also detailed this week stating that players will
need to counter the effects of the environment in the form of cold winds, frost, snow and
lightning strikes that can damage and even destroy buildings.
The newly formed city will also be victim to an alien fungus known as the creep which
is an aggressive life form that works its way into the city and spreads over the
surface of your creations and must be countered via scrubber drones or plasma turrets.
Watch for Aven Colony coming to the PS4 in quarter 2, 2017.
