Waching daily Apr 10 2017

Welcome back to Foundations YouTube channel today we're going to talk about creating

a stable shoulder and scapular stabilization and kind of overhead function.

So if you do anything overhead.

Throwing a ball, playing basketball, volleyball, swimming or just want to reach to get a cup

out of the cupboard without having any shoulder pain then here's something you can do to

prevent those things.

Okay.

So we're going to do some half kneeling rotation in the butterfly position.

So you're going to turn your arms into a butterfly and you're going to rotate so

let me show you what that means.

Very simple.

I'm on a padded surface what I would do is get in this position.

If you don't have a nice fancy table then maybe just throw a pillow on the floor or

some sort of kneeler.

This is your start position, this foot and knee are lined up with this hip.

This knee and hip are lined up with this shoulder and everything is in line.

What you're going to do is with hands on top of your head and not behind your head.

If you put them behind your head you'll have a tendency to pull your neck down and

I want you to be nice and tall.

So once you're in this positon you're ready to start.

Super simple.

You're going to squeeze your shoulder blades together and pull the elbows apart.

So this is your butterfly, you're kind of spreading your wings and keeping them spread.

So just doing this I can feel the muscles between my shoulder blades start to kick in.

I make sure not to arch my back while I do it.

I just squeeze my shoulder blades together, keep my back nice and straight, even think

about just sticking my chest out.

Now from here this is where the work begins.

So I rotate away from the knee that I'm kneeling on without letting my wings come

together or without letting my shoulder blades relax.

So I get to here and then I rotate.

Rotate, rotate, rotate, rotate, rotate.

I hold it then I come back down.

What you'll notice is if I let my shoulders relax I can turn a huge distance but I've

lost all my shoulder stabilization.

So again spread the wings, stick the chest out, rotate and you'll feel it right between

the shoulder blades.

Hold for about a 5 second count then you come back.

I would switch and go to the other side.

So it's a real quick, simple shoulder stabilization activity that you can do to keep your shoulders

happy and to preserve your overhead function.

So again we remind you that movement is a gift and we hope you enjoy it.

Priming Drill for Runners Hip Stability - Standing Hip Flx OH Reach + March - Duration: 3:16.

Welcome back to Foundation's YouTube channel.

Today we are going to show you a little drill that puts a lot of things that we've talked

about together.

Um on the channel we talked about improving hip mobility and hip flexion.

We've talked about improving glute function to improve hip stability.

We've done several things for runners to allow you to kind of put these into your gait

cycle as you run.

So this is another drill that you can do off the bumper of your car before you go for a

run if you're out.

Um you can do it in a gym and all you really need is a small band that you can just throw

in your bag or leave in the backseat of your car.

So, um we're doing a lot and I'll go through what we're working on as you do the movements.

But for starters you're going to stand on a band.

It doesn't have to be a very strong band.

This one isn't and you're going to bring your foot up onto a high surface right.

Should be a little higher than your knee if you can get it.

If not at least at that level would be good.

Ok so what you're going to do is you're going to stand on the band stabilized there.

You're going to start by putting your hands in front of your shoulders ok this is your

start position.

Now what you're going to do from here is punch overhead without arching your back ok

and step one or that's step one step two is just lift this right leg up off of the

surface.

It doesn't have to be very high.

If you try and lift real high you find yourself leaning back that's probably too high of

a surface.

So I punch and then I lift up this way ok now if I that's too challenging what I can

do is without the band just plug my fingers into the sky and then march that makes it

easier.

The absolute hardest thing to do for this hip in this activity to make it more stable

to make it act more like a stable base is to get on a surface like this.

Ok you're going to punch overhead and then what you're going to do is you're going

to lift that leg and rotate away and then back.

Alright you can also punch up and rotate without lifting the leg.

Try both ways and you'll notice the rotation without the lift is a great stretch.

The rotation with the lift is a great activity to prime the glutes.

So you can kind of do it both ways.

So this isn't the best video to just focus on one thing it is a great activity to really

prime a lot of things at once in short bit of time.

So if you find that you're not doing enough in the way of dynamic warm up try this out

and it really may make a big difference in the way you feel and the way you perform.

Um so we hope its helpful.

Again we remind you that movement is a gift and we hope you enjoy it and um I remind you

that if this is helpful to you or others um please share it and don't keep it a secret.

Strawberry Heart Thumbprint Cookies - Duration: 8:13.

Hi!

I'm Valentina.

Welcome to my channel.

In this video I'll show you how I made these simple and cute cookies.

They have a thumbprint heart and they are filled with jam.

What I like about these heart thumbprint cookies,

it's that they really show you how much love is there in these cookies,

how much love is put in the making

and you can share them with someone who you really love.

If you are new to my channel, please hit the subbscribe button,

and of course like this video and share the recipe with others.

Oh, and one more thing!

Let me tell you this:

If you have kids at home, be sure to invite them to join you in the proces of making these cookies.

They can roll out those little balls that will become these cookies

and they can thumbprint the hearts.

They will definitely love it!

And even they can fill the hearts,

but be patient with them, you know, because it can be a little bit messy!

The ingredients are:

About 280 gr of flour (3.1 cup),

40 gr of cane sugar (3 tbsp),

50 gr of white sugar (3.6 tbsp),

1/4 tsp of salt,

1 tsp of baking powder,

1 tsp of vanilla,

1 tbsp of milk,

1 egg,

125 gr of butter (0.5 cup),

and strawberry jam.

Beat the butter until it gets fluffy.

Add sugar and beat it all together.

Next, add the baking powder, salt, one whole egg, milk and vanilla.

Gradually add the four until the dough separates from the bowl.

The dough should be soft and smooth, but not sticky.

You can be sure that it is good once you can leave fingerprints in it

without the dough sticking to your fingers.

Wrap the dough with stretch foil and leave it in the fridge for at least 2 - 3 hours.

For this time the dough will become firm,

but once you start working with it and shaping the cookies,

it will soften really fast.

There are two ways of shaping the cookies.

I'll show you both.

First way is to grab walnut sized dough pieces and roll them into balls

then flatten them into circles that should be at least 1 cm that is about 0.4 in thick.

Kids love doing it this way!

The other way,

that is actually the one I prefer more,

it is to form a roll from the whole amount of the dough.

You can even do this before putting the dough into the fridge.

Cut same sized circles.

Roll the circles into balls and flatten them to be again, at least 1 cm or 0.4 in thick.

I prefer more this way because doing it like this, it will ensure that all the cookies come out in same size,

which is nice to the eye.

Put the cookies on baking sheet.

In each cookie print a "V" with your index finger, and voila,

there are the hearts.

If needed fix the narrow end of the heart to look nicer.

You can do it with a spoon or with a tool like this.

If the dough becomes soft it is best to put it back to the fridge before baking,

for at least 15 - 20 min.

This will prevent the cookies from spreading too much.

It is best to heat up a little bit the jam before filling the hearts.

If you wish you can even push it threw a strainer to remove all the little seeds.

Put the jam into a freezer bag and cut of the tip.

Be careful not to cut of too much.

You can always cut of more if needed.

Fill each heart with the jam.

Be careful not to overfill them.

The jam line shouldn't go above the cookie level,

otherwise it's more likely that some jam leakage will happen.

Bake it in preheated oven at 180 C, that is 356 F, for about 15 min.

Still, that will depend on your oven too, so watch carefully not to burn the cookies.

They should get ligh golden color.

Leave them to cool on the baking sheet before lifting them up to prevent falling apart.

If some of the cookies crack a little bit,

you can still form them back while they are hot and leave them to cool!

Share the cookies with love!

Thanks for watching!

Get your shoulders moving! - Prone Functional Internal/External Rotation - Duration: 2:42.

Welcome back to Foundations YouTube Channel today we're going to talk about shoulders.

Keeping your shoulders healthy.

We've done several videos on shoulder stability and shoulder mobility.

So if you have any issues doing this there's plenty of stuff you can work on to get here.

This is a little more challenging activity.

This is really a great shoulder priming activity so before you go out to perform, before you

go out to play, before you go out to throw it's a good way to warm up the shoulders.

So what we're going to be doing is functional shoulder internal and external rotation.

What is that?

Basically this is functional external rotation, this is functional internal rotation.

So you should be able to do that on both sides.

Now you're always going to have some asymmetries if you have pain get that evaluated and figure

out what that's all about.

If you don't and you want to just keep your shoulders happy here's a quick drill to

do.

So again this is the movement we're going to do.

However the kicker is you're going to do it lying down and that changes the pull of

gravity and makes it a lot tougher.

So on a flat surface what you're going to do is you're going to get on your stomach.

You're going to lay like this.

Now from here basically all you're going to do is lift the arms up.

Don't just lift the hands up and do this, lift the arms off the table.

And you're going to stay off the table, stay off the table, stay off the table.

Touch and come out as wide as possible then you go to the other side.

Then you're going to come here.

Three.

Four.

You're going to basically work on doing that drill, about 5 sets of 5 with some other

form of warm up in between.

Now if this is too challenging for you and you don't feel like you can get good range

of motion what you can do is get a big exercise ball/physio ball/swiss ball one of those large

exercise balls put your chest on that.

That will give you a little more range of motion we can work up to this.

Um but again this is a great dynamic warm up for the shoulders that will really warm

up all the small uh rotator cuff muscles are the scapular stabilizers that should feel

like after doing this as part of your warm up overhead stuff is a lot easier.

So again um we hope you enjoy it um try it out if you think it is something that can

help you or others please share this video and we remind you that movement is a gift.

Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections at botonics - Duration: 4:37.

Aqualyx is a compound of a substance call deoxycholic acid and essentially it absorbs

the fat and you pass it out through the kidneys naturally.

During the treatment, it is a series of injections using a special needle called a cannula and

it takes about an hour to do the procedure but we'll be essentially injecting the areas

that need treating with the Aqualyx.

The commonest areas that are treated are under the chin, for the double chin area, the stomach,

front of the stomach, the sides, the saddle bags and around the hips.

The knees can also be treated as well.

It can take anywhere between two to eight treatments.

On the whole, we recommend two to four treatments but we normally review how you're progressing

and then make a decision at that stage of how many further treatments are required.

Usually it's uncomfortable for a few days.

And it can be uncomfortable for up to two weeks.

So normally we recommend taking painkillers.

You can start exercising after about a week or so, but the commonest problem is the discomfort

from the procedure.

You will see the results after about four to five weeks.

Normally there is swelling after the treatment and once that has settled down you will start

to see results.

We'll do a full consultation and discuss your needs and requirements.

And at that stage we can tell you if you're suitable for Aqualyx.

Side effects include swelling, and there's always a possibility of infection, there can

be some bruising as well and pain and discomfort.

The pain and discomfort usually lasts up to a week or so and then generally it settles

down.

If it's done in the right hands, it is a safe treatment.

Absolutely.

I've been doing these treatments since 2014.

For the first three to four days, there will be some discomfort and so it is usually just

better to rest and take it easy for the first few days.

But after that, there is minimal down time.

The fat won't come back as long as you maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle

The treatment can be uncomfortable.

However, we put some anaesthetic mixed in with the Aqualyx to make it more comfortable.

There will be some discomfort after the treatment and initially you get some swelling and bruising.

So that is to be expected.

Aqualyx is designed for localised ares of fat which are more stubborn and difficult

to get rid of if you're maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle.

So if there are multiple areas that need treating then it may be worth a surgical opinion.

Aqualyx is designed to absorb subcutaneous fat, so the more superficial areas of fat.

It won't dissolve internal fat and is not designed to do that.

Crashing the Boards: Russell Westbrook is the Alpha of the NBA - Duration: 7:16.

BRYA WELCOME TO THE SHOW.

I'M BRYAN KEATING.

HE'S CARSON CUNNINGHAM.

IT IS TIME TO CRASH THE BOARDS.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?

THE THUNDER ARE DOWN TO THE

FINAL WEEK OF THE REGULAR

SEASON.

WE'RE GOING TO HAVE PLAYOFF

GAMES ASKED WEEKEND.

CARSON: IT HAS BEEN A WILD RIDE

AND A FUN RIDE.

BRYAN: WE REALLY DIDN'T KNOW

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN WE STARTED

THIS YEAR WITH NO KEVIN DURANT.

WHAT WAS RUSSELL WESTBROOK GOING

TO DO?

HE WAS SENSATIONAL THE ENTIRE

SEASON.

I WANT TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS.

SORT OF REMEMBER A FEW THINGS

ABOUT REALLY A FUN SEASON.

FAVORITE MOMENT THIS YEAR?

CARSON THIS IS EASY FOR ME.

EVERY TIME WE CALL U SOME

RUSSELL WESTBROOK HIGHLIGHTS FOR

OUR SHOWS, I GO DIRECTLY TO THE

HOUSTON HAMMER.

BRYAN: THAT'S A PRETTY GOOD ONE.

CARSON EARLY IN THE SEASON

AGAINST THE HOUSTON ROCKETS, WE

FOUND OUT RUSSELL WESTBROOK IS

THE BEST CLUTCH PLAYER IN THE

ENTIRE NBA.

A LEFT-HAND SLAM OVER CLINT

COMELLA, AND MY FAVORITE PART

ABOUT THIS PLAY, RUSSELL

WESTBROOK IS AN ALPHA WITH A A.

HE GETS JACK, HE DOES NOT

WANT TO BEAT YOU.

HE WANTS TO END YOU.

AT THE END OF THIS PLAY, HE

BEATS HIS CHEST AND STOMPS.

BRYAN: I AM RUSSELL WESTBROOK!

CARSON: HE LETS THE MOMENT

SUCCUMB HIM AND GOES COMPLETELY

NUTS.

THE HOUSTON HAMMER - ESPN

RANKED IT AS THE BEST PLAY IN

THE NBA RING THE ALL-STAR BREAK.

I THINK IT IS THE BEST PLAY IN

THE ENTIRE NBA THIS SEASON.

BRYAN: HE IS LIKE THE ALPHA IN

THE NBA.

NO QUESTION.

I COULD AFFECT A LOT OF THE

BUZZER BEATERS.

WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE ORLANDO

GAME, POINTS, GOT TO OVERTIME

AND HAVE THE TRIPLE-DOUBLE AND

ALL THE RECORD-BREAKING MOMENTS

-- FOR ME, THE BIGGEST MOMENT OF

THE SEASON, IT WAS THE MOMENT,

THE CUPCAKE GAME.

I THINK IT WAS THE GAME WHERE

OKLAHOMA CITY GOT TO VENT.

IT WAS LIKE A WESTERN FINALS

ATMOSPHERE.

THE GAME DIDN'T EVEN MATTER.

RUSSELL WESTBROOK WAS AWESOME.

THE HATE ISRAEL.

THE VITRIOL ISRAEL.

HE SAID, I'M COMING.

THAT IS A CHALLENGE THIS

OFF-SEASON, TO GET OKLAHOMA CITY

IN THE "I'M COMING F YOU" --

GIVE RUSSELL A SHOT AT THEM.

THAT IS WHAT WE'RE GOING TO

REMEMBER.

CARSON RUSS HANLEY COOL ALL

ALONG.

YOU SAW THE LOOK ON HIS FACE.

THAT SAID IT ALL.

BRYAN: ANDRE ROBERSON NOSE TO

NOSE WITH KEVIN DURANT.

CARSON: SAM NEEDS TO GET ROSS

SOME REINFORCEMENTS.

BRYAN: THUNDER FANS WERE

EXCEPTIONAL THAT NIGHT.

ALL RIGHT, IT APPEARS,

BASICALLY, ALMOST SIGNED,

SEALED, AN DELIVERED, THAT THE

THUNDER ARE GOING TO PLAY THE

ROCKETS.

BUT IS THAT THE RIGHT MATCHUP?

THERE'S STILL A CHANCE MAYBE

THEY COULD FALL BACK AND PLAY

THE SPURS.

WHO DO YOU WANT TO PLAY?

CARSON: NEVER IN MY WILDEST

DREAMS DID I SAY SPURS ME.

GIVE ME THE SPURS.

YOU'VE BEEN SAYING IT FOR WEEKS.

YOU'VE BEEN ASKING ME.

I WAS LIKE, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING

ABOUT?

BUT THE ROCKETS FORCED THE

THUNDER TO G SMALL, AND WHAT

DOES THAT MEAN?

A GUY LIKE JEREMY GRANT, WHO

DOESN'T PLAY FOR THE MOST PART

AGAINST BETTER TEAMS IN THE NBA

EXCEPT WHEN THEY HAVE TO GO

SMALL, SO JEREMY GRANT WOULD

HAVE TO PLAY A BIGGER ROLE THAN

HE'S USED TO.

I WOULD RATHER HAVE ENES KANTER

PLAYING BIG MINUTES.

I JUST WORRY ABOUT THE THUNDER

BEING ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH THE

ROCKETS' THREE-POINT SHOOTING.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE PAU GASOL

PATTY MILLS, GIVE ME THE SPURS.

BRYAN: GIVE ME ALL THE

RIVERWALK.

ALL THE MEXICAN FOOD YOU CAN

HAVE DOWN THERE IN SAN ANTONIO.

THE THUNDER HAVE ALL THOSE BIG

GUYS.

AT LEAST IN A SERIES AGAINST SAN

ANTONIO, YOU CAN PLAY THE WAY

YOU WANT TO PLAY.

I'M NOT SURE YOU CAN DO TH

AGAINST HOUSTON.

HOUSTON HAS THE ABILITY TO SHOOT

YOU OUT OF THAT SERIES FAST.

THEY ARE GOING TO SHOOT 40 OR 50

THREES A GAME.

IF THEY ARE MAKING SHOTS, THEY

ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT.

GIVE ME THE SPURS.

THEY ARE GOING TO PLAY THE

ROCKETS.

CARSON GOING TO BE THE ROCKETS.

NEVER DID I EVER THINK -- AND

THE SPURS, THEY HAVE WHAT, ONE

ALL-STAR?

IT IS AMAZING THAT POPOVICH HAS

BEEN WHERE THEY ARE.

BRYAN: RIGHT.

CARSON THE THUNDER, THEY HAVE

ONE STAR.

BRYAN: SPEAKING OF THAT ONE

ALL-ST, HOUSTON HAS THAT ONE

ALL-STAR TOO.

THOSE ARE THE TW LEADING

CANDIDATES FOR THE M.V.P.

WHO IS THE M.V.P.?

CARSON WELL, THE OTHER NIGHT

YOU AND I WERE WATCHING RUSSELL

DO HIS THING, GOING ABSOLUTELY

BALLISTIC, AND WE'RE FALLING OUT

OF OUR CHAIR, EXPLAININ --

RUSSELL WESTBROOK HAS PUT AN

EXCLAMATIO POINT ON HIS M.V.P.

KENNEDY SEAT.

THE LAST TWO WEEKS HAVE BEEN

NOTHING SHORT OF MEMORIZING --

MESMERIZING.

OBVIOUSLY THE TRIPLE-DOUBLE

STREET.

I JUST DON'T THINK YOU CAN DENY

A GUY WHO IS NUMBER ONE IN

SCORING, PLUS-MINUS, CLUTCH

STATS.

THE STATS SAY THE THUNDER WOULD

BE A 19-WIN TEAM WITHOUT RUSSELL

ON THE FLOOR.

THAT IS HOW MUCH HE IS WILLING

THIS TEAM TO SUCCEED.

EVERYONE WANTS TO SAY THE M.V.P.

HAS NEVER BEEN GIVEN TO SOMEONE

BELOW THE FOUR SPOT IN THE

CONFERENCE STANDINGS.

WELL NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN BELOW

THE TWO SPOT EITHER AND THE

ROCKETS ARE.

IT WOULD STILL BE UNPRECEDENTED.

1988 IS THE LAST TIME THEY GIVE

SOMEONE NOT IN THE TOP TWO SPOT.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO CLAIM THE

WIN-LOSS CATEGORY, YOU HAVE TO

THROW ARDEN OUT TOO.

THREE, SIX, NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE.

THE BIG DIFFERENCE IS THE

TRIPLE-DOUBLE'S.

BRYAN: NO ONE HAS HAD ALL THESE

TRIPLE-DOUBLE'S EITHER.

IT IS THE BRODIE.

THE BRODIE IS THE M.V.P.

I SAID I THOUGHT JAMES HARDEN

WAS GOING TO WIN IT A COUPLE

WEEKS AGO.

I THINK THE BRODIE IS GOING TO

WIN IT.

BRYA I THINK WHEN PENN MEETS

PAD FOR THE VOTERS AND THEY LOOK

AT THE STATS, THE DIFFERENCE IN

WINS IS NEGLIGIBLE CONSIDERING

THE UNEARTHLY THINGS RUSSELL

WESTBROOK HAS DONE.

BRYAN: HE'S GOING TO WIN IT, I

THINK.

HE'S CARSON.

I'M BRIAN.
