Waching daily Oct 1 2018

(audience cheering)

- Ashley says her mom, Debbie, destroyed their family

when she went online looking for love

just a few months after her husband died.

- [Audience] Ooh.

- And it gets worse.

Ashley says her mom's new man was a fraud,

who scammed her for over $200,000.

- [Audience] Oh!

- Mkay, take a look.

- My mom has completely devastated our family.

- A little over a year ago,

my husband of 40 years passed away.

- Six months later my mom entered into

an online dating relationship and gave away over $200,000.

I can't even put into words how angry I am.

- I am a grown adult,

and I cannot have my daughters mother me.

- I feel like I am the parent, and she is the daughter.

- Six months before my husband died,

he was diagnosed with melanoma.

- It absolutely broke my heart when my dad died.

- It was awful.

After my husband passed, I got really lonely.

One evening, out of the blue,

I got this messenger request from a gentleman.

I looked up his profile.

He was a widower.

- He was originally from Italy.

- Was very nice looking.

- Constructional engineer, he was a multimillionaire.

- And he was in his 60s.

- He had one more job to do before he retired

and they could live happily ever after.

And it happened to be in Malaysia.

- It really felt great to connect with somebody.

I really fell deeply for him.

- She told me that he had trusted her

with his banking account information.

- And he sent me a picture of his account.

Balances, account number, his name was actually on there.

And it looked pretty darn legit to me.

- He needed her to transfer $350,000 between his accounts.

- So, I did it.

- [Ashley Voiceover] Mom are you kidding me?

I told my mom it was a scam.

- A week or two later, he begins to tell me

that he's been having these chest pains

and that he had had a mild heart attack.

Again he asked me for another $20,000.

After six months, I ended up giving him almost $250,000.

- The money that she sent to Malaysia

was life insurance money from my dad's death.

I believe, were he here, he would have wanted

to start college funds for the grandkids.

- My two daughters are driving me insane.

It's not about me anymore, it's about money.

- How do I get my mom to realize

the damage she's caused our family?

- How do I find out if this man

that I fell so deeply for is really real?

And get my relationship back with my daughters

to the way it was?

Husband Tells Wife 'My Word Is The Law' – But He'S Not Prepared For Her Brilliant Comeback - Duration: 1:40.

Whenever a couple moves in together, it can be a bit of an adjustment.

A lot of couples struggle with who will pay for what or how they will set up the furniture,

but there's also the question of who will do what.

Divvying up the chores can be tough when both people have different ideas about their roles

in the relationship.

But when they listen to advice from others over their own partner, it can get even worse.

Like in this humorous situation about a husband and wife.

The husband reads what he feels is an empowering book and quickly announces some new house

rules.

But what he does not expect is that his wife would react quite the way she does.

Although it's not a true story, it's funny as can be, so I just had to share it here.

Read the hilarious story below:

The husband had just finished reading a new book entitled, "You Can Be The Man Of Your

House."

He stormed to his wife in the kitchen and announced, "From now on, you need to know

that I am the man of this house and my word is law.

You will prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I am finished eating my meal, you

will serve me a sumptuous dessert.

After dinner, you are going to go upstairs with me and we will have the kind of fun that

I want.

Afterwards, you are going to draw me a bath so I can relax.

You will wash my back, towel me dry, and bring me my robe.

Then, you will massage my feet and hands.

Then tomorrow, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?"

The wife replied, "The funeral director would be my first guess."

Was not that funny?

Share if it made you laugh!

Atiku: I Celebrated APC's Change Promise, But Now I Know It Is Hollow And Empty - Duration: 5:59.

Atiku Abubakar, presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has berated the "promise of change" of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he admitted to initially celebrating when it was championed in 2015.

According to the former Vice-President, three years after the "change" initiative was championed, it "has been seen for what it is; a hollow and empty promise devoid of meaning and the incapacity of the promisor to deliver on his promises".

He stated this in a statement on Monday on Nigeria's 58th Independence Anniversary. He also aimed a slight shade at President Muhammadu Buhari for his comment that Nigeria's youth are lazy.

"Nigerian youth are not lazy as some have said. They are desirous of working, but there is a dearth of jobs," he said.

58th Independence Anniversary: Our Youth Gives Us Hope of a Better Tomorrow. My dear fellow citizens of our great nation Nigeria,.

On this occasion of our 58th Independence Anniversary, I bring you glad tidings. Although I am not glad about the state of our nation today, I am hopeful of a better tomorrow.

You may ask why I am not glad. It should be obvious. A mere three years ago, we were the third fastest growing economy in the world.

As I write this to you today, our fortunes have reversed to the point where we are now the world headquarters for extreme poverty, according to the World Poverty Clock and the World Economic Forum.

The promise of change, which many Nigerians, myself included, celebrated three years ago, has been seen for what it is, a hollow and empty promise devoid of meaning and the incapacity of the promisor to deliver on his promises.

Yet, I am hopeful, as you and your family should be. The indomitable Nigerian spirit gives me hope.

Our youth, like the five girls from Regina Pacis Secondary School Onitsha, Anambra state, who won the 2018 World Technovation Challenge in the Silicon Valley, give us hope.

Bright Nigerian youth, like Israel Zakari Galadima from Borno State, who emerged ‎the best overall student in the 2018 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board's University Matriculation Examinations (UME) after scoring 364, make us hopeful for the future.

At the beginning of the year, we were shocked as a nation, by news from the National Bureau of Statistics, that 7.9 million Nigerians had lost their jobs in just 21 months.

We were further shaken by the fact that Nigeria had overtaken India as the nation with the largest out of school children population in the world, even though India has seven times our population.

We were further warned by one of the world's largest banks, HSBC, that our economy faces challenges if we do not make certain personnel changes in the near future. These warnings were also corroborated by the world's foremost economic magazine, The Economist.

Indeed, this was not the Nigeria our founding fathers visualised. What they visualised was a Nigeria founded on unity, faith, peace and love. We owe it as a duty to keep faith with their vision.

That is why today, I make bold to pledge that I will devote the rest of my life to building bridges across Nigeria in order that the founding fathers' vision of unity, faith, peace and love, is materialised in my lifetime, so help me God.

Those of us, who God has blessed with ability, also have a corresponding responsibility to use that ability for the common good of the collective.

Nigerian youth are not lazy as some have said. They are desirous of working, but there is a dearth of jobs.

This is why I have committed personal resources to open multiple businesses in 2018 to get as many unemployed Nigerians working again.

This is why I set up animal feed plants to provide an alternative to animal grazing so that lives may be saved just as jobs are created. Our people should not have to give up their lands to save their lives.

I call on others like me, who have entrepreneurial ability, to use such abilities to help assuage the chronic unemployment in the land. We owe it as a duty to our God, our founding fathers and our nation.

I have much more to say on this issue. But for today, permit to say God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all her peoples. Happy Independence Day to you and your family.

Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999-2007.

65. What is dissociation? - Duration: 0:53.

Hello everyone!

Dissociation is neurological mode activated in case of immediate mortal danger.

Animals use it also.

For example, when cat catches mouse, mouse goes in dissociation mode because he knows cat can kill him.

So he plays dead.

Breathing diminishes, blood goes from limbs to vital organs, digestion and urination slows down.

Dopamine is being inhibited by adrenaline.

Now, mouse doesn't fake dissociation, he really can't move his body.

Eventually, if cat looses interest in half dead, dissociated mouse, she goes away.

Suddenly, mouse's brain declares the threat is gone and terminates dissociation.

Mouse is alive and mobile again.

Similarly, recovery from Parkinson's occurs when one's brain declares it is safe after all and thus terminates dissociation.

Thank you!

As the episode begins, Chas has just given birth, and they are ecstatic before they realise the countdown has begun before their baby dies

#IBelieveYou ...Now What? - This is the Beginning of Social Change - Duration: 2:37.

With the help of the #IBelieveYou

campaign and the #MeToo campaigns,

there has been a profound impact on the

way that we have conversations about

sexual violence in our communities. As

somebody who works in the field of

sexual violence, we have seen in this

last year alone, an increase in our

referrals to our program. For the first

time we have seen a waitlist accumulate

for people trying to access services. And

I think that, while there's so many

people who are not ready to tell their

stories right now and we need to respect

that, these two campaigns have given

people a platform to come forward and

talk about what has happened to them. It

has created a culture that wants people

to feel safe, and secure, and comfortable.

And, what this has meant is that people

are starting to realize that, wow I can

have conversations with my friends and

with my family, and that there are

professional services in the community

where I am going to feel heard and

listened to and supported. And really

what this has done it has sparked a you

know, hopefully what we're going to be

describing as a significant time of

social change. And there really is

something to be said for the feeling of

solidarity of women coming together who

have shared an experience. Men coming

together who have shared in an

experience, as well as people of all

orientations, of all identities saying

we're here, we believe you, we're

listening, and we are joining in this

community of saying enough is enough and

we want our communities to be safer. And

I think that, you know, we would

definitely say there's still very much

work to be done. We've got lots to do

to create the kind of social change that

is needed, but this is the an excellent

place to start.

it's an

excellent platform to jump off of, and

it's gaining momentum. And I think that

in the next couple of years there's

only more good things to come.
