Welcome viewers, and thanks once again for choosing this channel.
To close off the year, I'm featuring the best Android TV boxes on my channel for 2017.
We have seen lots of boxes throughout the year from various manufacturers, some with
pretty good hardware an others not so good.
We have seen boxes with dual CPUs, and with benchmarks to fascinate any TV box enthusiast.
However, during my many reviews of these devices, I've come to realize that their are just a
hand full of these boxes that really deliver a true all round TV box user experience.
What do I mean by this?
A box could have the best hardware, and it still cannot deliver a complete user experience.
What I'm saying is that for a TV box to deliver a complete user experience it must achieve
the following things.
One.
The box must be rooted.
Not just rooted, but it must be rooted with the appropriate permissions to allow key mapping
apps and mirroring apps to work.
Also it must come with a navigation bar and status bar for easy navigation and multitasking.
Two.
It must be able to install the latest version of Kodi from the Google play store or via
the APK installer, along with all other movie streaming applications.
Three.
The hardware must be good enough to deliver performance and smooth operation of the box.
WiFi reception, file transfer, and CPU heat management must be good under heavy operation.
Four.
It must be able to play an array of 4K videos in different formats and at various fps and
bit rates without buffering and in good quality.
And five.
It must be able to play high graphics 3D games on the highest setting without overheating
or freezing up, and it must do this together with my key mapping application.
So in keeping with all these criteria, the boxes featured in this video could be considered
my editors choice for 2017.
In no way are these all the TV boxes released this year that fit these criteria, I can only
speak for those that I have featured on my channel.
So without further ado, these are my editors choice best TV boxes for 2017.
I have a total of 8 boxes, and first on the list starting in ascending order according
to my favorites is the Magicsee iron plus.
The Magicsee Iron plus fits all the criteria I highlighted and it also has a unique design.
My user experience on this box was pretty good, and so was the customer support from
the manufacturers.
The only issue I had with this box was when it was first launched around June this year
it wasn't rooted, and Magicsee had to do a firmware update to get it rooted.
However, all later releases came with the updated firmware.
Next on my list is the Alfawise H96 Mini.
The H96 mini, even though it doesn't have the level of hardware and benchmark scores
like the others on my list.
The new Amlogic chipset used in this box which is a TV chip, allows it to deliver on all
the criteria indicated, it delivers a complete user experience with smooth 4K display and
rock solid gaming, even better than most TV boxes I've seen.
I would love to see the H96 mini in action when they increase the RAM and internal storage
based on this new TV chip.
Next to get featured is the mini M8S Pro.
The mini M8S pro is and under rated TV box that for some reason didn't make it to the
spotlight like some of the others.
It was launched between April and May this year, at a time when for some reason TV box
sales were down due to some issues with the Kodi application and addons developers, which
allowed the Mini M8S Pro to be launched un noticed.
However, the Mini M8S Pro is one of my favorite little TV boxes that delivers the complete
user experience from streaming free movies, 4K videos at various formats, and high quality
3D gaming on my favorite key mapping application.
Another TV box that got launched around the same period was the Sunvell T95R Pro.
The T95R Pro is a solid performer on all fronts, it meets all the criteria I recommended and
it presented a new housing design and an LED power light display that's different from
the others.
This box caught on later in the year, which saw the depletion of stocks at the various
warehouses.
However, by customer demand, a new shipment of T95R Pro boxes was released making it available
once again worldwide.
Next is a TV box by one of my favorite manufactures, the Beelink GT1 Ultimate.
The Beelink GT1 ultimate is not only a TV box that delivers the complete user experience,
but it also has the maxed out hardware to go with it.
It's one of the first boxes to use DDR4 memory on Android 7.0, and it is capable of delivering
on 4K videos and 3D gaming on 32GB of internal storage.
An added benifit is that Beelink is one of the few manufacturers that delivers wireless
updates for all their boxes, which makes keeping up to date and firmware updates a breeze.
And now I'm down to my final three.
In position number three, is what I saw to be one of the best selling TV boxes for 2017,
and it's still in demand.
I'm speaking about the dynamic Tanix TX92 4K TV box.
The Tanix TX92. is one of those boxes that delivers on all fronts on high end hardware.
From an octa core processor, to 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage, to even Bluetooth
4.1 technology, and its a super gamer.
In using this box I was able to do everything, including playing games using mirroring apps
with my smart phone, and using my key mapping application.
However, the Tanix TX92 would have easily been my number one choice for 2017 if it wasn't
for one small set back.
It can only run YouTube videos up to 1080p quality.
This brings me to my position number two.
Coming in at position number two on my list is the Beelink GS1 6K Android TV box.
The Beelink GS1 is one of the 4th quarter releases that took the TV box industry by
storm.
It sports the new Allwinner H6 CPU that delivers on all the criteria I highlighted and more.
It's the first TV box to play 6K videos, and it's one of the two TV boxes to play YouTube
videos in 2K resolution.
There was one box this year to play YouTube in 4K resolution, but it fell short in other
areas.
The Beelink GS1 is the total package, with good 4K display and 3D gaming.
There was one thing that set it aside from the number one position, and that is the screen
adjustment feature.
If you attempt to adjust the screen size in ward too much, the on screen cursor starts
to flicker a bit.
However, this only happens when trying to adjust to smaller 720p screens.
And in position number one, and is my editors choice for best user experience Android TV
box for 2017, is the Zidoo H6 Pro.
Zidoo has released their masterpiece for 2017, and much like the Beelink GS1, it sports the
new Allwinner CPU.
With it's elegant design, the Zidoo H6 Pro played all my 4K video samples without problems.
The user interface which is Zidoo's costum user interface is fantastic with lots of handy
features.
The Zidoo H6 Pro has the following features.
It comes with its own Bluetooth wireless remote, the only manufacturer to be offering this
out of the box.
It comes with DDR4 RAM, it has dual band WiFi support, It can play 4K videos with HDR 10bit
display with smart color 3.0, it has Dolby digital DTS surround sound quality, and it
has Bluetooth 4.1 technology.
The Zidoo H6 Pro allowed me to stream free movies and TV shows, play high graphics 3D
games, use mirroring and key mapping applications, its rooted, webcams work on skype, and under
heavy operation the box doesn't overheat.
So viewers, there you have it, these are my editors choice for best user experience Android
TV Boxes for 2017.
Please note, the reason why some of the high end Rockchip boxes like the RK3399 models
did not make this list, is because despite their high benchmarks, they either overheat,
or the root permissions don't allow webcams and key mapping apps to work.
Actually, one of them died on me during game play from overheating which was the R99, which
never completed it's review.
With this taken into account, I hope you enjoyed my presentation.
