And now, after a very long time, we've got a piece by Square Enix.
We have Marvel Variants Iron Man from the Play Arts Kai series, to my joy!
This is great! I've wanted this figure for a very long time.
As always, Square Enix recreates Marvel and DC heroes
in an anime style; nicely designed
and we have Iron Man right here.
I really really like the suit! The combination of black, red and gold is incredible.
I live for the day when I see something like this in the films, animation or anything.
Now that I think about it, we've seen something similar in animation.
If I recall, it was in the 13th or the 14th episode of Avengers Assemble season 3,
Iron Man and the Avengers team travelled to the future
and he found an armor that resembles this one in the color scheme at least.
Not in the design as much, but palette-wise.
So, let's have a look at the figure. Nice colors.
Especially the shiny red; I love it.
I love the complex design.
It's very beautiful; very stylized and detailed.
Let's check the articulation. The arm extends upwards.
It rotates 360 on a good ball joint, albeit a bit 'loose-y'.
Rotating ball joint on the elbow as well.
Same on the wrist.
I've said before that, despite the awesome design,
I'm not very fond of the joints being too exposed, but it's ok.
We have neck movement.
By the way, really nice motif.
The same goes for the other arm.
The trunks here are a bit wobbly, like Superman's.
The legs are somewhat stiffer for some reason.
There's double knee joint,
which goes all the way back.
There's a ball joint on the ankle.
Really cool!
And being a Square Enix, it comes with multiple accessories.
I'm not showing you the display stand. It's the same as Superman's.
Let's move on to the parts.
First, we have these nice repulsor blast hands.
Really cool. Let's try them on.
It pegs right on the joint.
A really nice effect.
We also have a pair of open palms, which could look like he's about to fire a blast.
Let's peg it on.
Looks good.
Nice details.
What else do we have? Oh right, these!
These are thruster effects for the boots.
The heels have holes where the parts peg in.
So, you're supposed to put him in a flight pose or something like that.
Next, there's this pair of flaps, which peg on his back.
Right here, the armor flaps are supposed to be closed.
This part can unpeg, as well as the other one.
Just a moment to see which one goes where.
So, this one goes here.
They're on ball joints
and you can adjust their position to imitate a flight pose.
Putting back the default ones.
Finally, the last pair of accessories left is this.
You'd ask "What are those?" I'll show you right away!
There's this panel on his thigh.
This can come off and on its place you can put this.
This piece pegs here.
Just be a little careful.
It is supposed to be a missile launcher on the thigh or something like that.
Same goes for the other part, which pegs here, and it's exactly like the right one.

To sum up, nice figure, beautiful colors, incredible design.
Whatever the Japanese get their hands on, it is really awesome.
The accessories are cool, the stand… well, you already know, no need to repeat myself.
It is definitely a worthy acquisition for any Iron Man fan; the whole idea, the design.
It should be in your collection.
I think Square Enix continues producing variants from both Marvel and DC,
so you can easily look for your favorite hero.
