Hi this is Phil from Make Tech Easier and welcome to five essential laptop apps
for people on the move. Looking at the title you might be wondering what a
"laptop app" is and whether you've missed out on some kind of mini tech revolution
by never having heard one. Don't worry because technically any app
that can be used on your laptop can also be used on your desktop. The only
difference is that some apps out there are particularly useful for those on the
go, whether it's keeping yourself protected when you're using a public
Wi-Fi hotspot, or trying to figure out why your battery's draining
so quickly, we have you covered with our rundown of the five best laptop apps.
HTTPS Everywhere. When you're out and about with your laptop connecting to
public Wi-Fi without a care in the world you want to get online with the
knowledge that each site you visit is hidden from unwelcome eyes. With HTTPS
Everywhere (the extension for Firefox Chrome and Opera) most of the major sites
you visit get bolted on with HTTPS security, meaning that all your browsing
on them, any data you enter and so on is encrypted. It's a great solution to
increase your online protection. Battery Optimizer. Your battery is one of the
most crucial aspects of your laptop and you want to be able to take every
precaution to squeeze as much juice out of it as possible.

by battery resources, Google Drive is the perfect portable office solution. You can
work on things without worrying about saving in case of battery cuts and you
can easily share and collaborate with others when you're on the move,
especially when combined ClockworkMod Tether.
It just works. Then there's the fact that it provides you with a ton of cloud
storage space so you don't need to strain your presumably small laptop hard
drive with the necessary files. Conclusion. So now that you've gone
through this list are you ready to admit that there might be a difference between

Kate Middleton, Prince William Eye Prince George's School For $8000 A Term - Duration: 2:17.
Royal parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, have reportedly found a school for Prince
George in London.
The 3-year-old third-in-line to the British throne will supposedly attend Wetherby School,
which costs $8,000 (�6,500) per term.
According to the Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will soon be leaving
their Norfolk home and moving to Kensington Palace in London as their royal duties will
require more of their time.
With the new and more permanent setup, they have also looked into potential schools for
Prince George.
Even though no official confirmation has been made, the royal couple has apparently registered
Prince George at the Wetherby School.
It is situated near their home and would be a 15-minute walk from Kensington.
According to Huffington Post, this is the same school that Princes William and Harry
went to as little children.
Wetherby School is an all-boys institution that welcomes 250 kids every year.
The children wear red blazers and ties over crisp white shirts and dark blue shorts or
pants as their uniform.
They also have grey caps and socks.
Students from this prep school eventually enter Eton, Westminster and St. Paul's, according
to the Express Observer.
The institution was built in 1849 and stands just right near the Pembridge Square Garden,
a popular site for kids and families.
According to the Telegraph, Prince William might have to also give up his regular job
if he needs to focus on his royal duties full time.
"He has his job as an Air Ambulance pilot, which he enjoys very much, but he also wants
to take on more royal duties, as does the Duchess," a spokesperson told the news outlet.
His employment contract as a helicopter pilot will supposedly end in March 2017.

Senior members of Trump's team spent the weekend discussing what shape the punishment should take and are expected to announce their decision later this week, with the options including trade restrictions or economic sanctions.
The US President tweeted his anger at China over the weekend after North Korea's missile launch on Friday - the 14th test carried out by the hermit state in 2017. He wrote: "I am very disappointed in China.
Our foolish past leaders have allowed them to make hundreds of billions of dollars a year in trade, yet they do NOTHING for us with North Korea, just talk. "We will no longer allow this to continue.
China could easily solve this problem!" China's insistence on trying to alleviate tensions diplomatically is frustrating Mr Trump and after Kim Jong-un claimed that Friday's test showed the US is in range of North Korea's missiles, there is increasing pressure on the President to act fast.
One White House said Mr Trump's frustrations about the ballistic missile test combined with a sense that Chinese officials aren't committed to helping on North Korea, are making it more likely for him to act, according to Politico.
President Trump could turn to people in his administration like chief strategist Steve Bannon, trade adviser Peter Navarro and policy adviser Stephen Miller - all of whom have argued for tougher sanctions on China.
In February, Beijing announced a ban on North Korean coal imports after the assassination of Kim Jong-un's brother, Kim Jong-nam – yet a staggering 90 per cent of North Korea's trade is carried out through China.
The United Nations imposed a series of strict sanctions on North Korea but that does not appear to have deterred Pyongyang as it continues to carry out nuclear and missile tests.
Despite increasing tensions, the US and China are working together to impose new sanctions on North Korea in a bid to quell Pyongyang's repeated nuclear threats - but Washington has warned getting Russia to back the plans will be the "true test" as tensions escalate.
Washington gave Beijing a draft resolution earlier this month which included plans to impose stricter measures on the hermit state over the July 4 missile launch.
But any punishment relies on Chinas cooperation with Russia as tensions on the Korean peninsula escalate and Washington-Moscow relations are pushed to breaking point. Nikki Haley, the US's UN ambassador, told reporters China's initial response to the plans showed "seriousness", adding: Were constantly in touch with China.
Things are moving but its still too early to tell how far theyll move.
We know that Chinas been sharing and negotiating with Russia, so as long as they are doing that, were going to continue to watch this closely to make sure it is a strong resolution.
The true test will be what [the Chinese] have worked out with Russia [and whether] Russia comes and tries to pull out of that." Ms Haley's Chinese counterpart, Liu Jieyi, said: "We are making progress, it requires time, but were working very hard. Trump has previously spoken highly of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping after the pair met in Washington in April.
He said "tremendous goodwill and friendship was formed" when the leaders met but that relationship looks set to be tested amid increasing hostilities between the US and Russia.
Last night Vladimir Putin ordered 755 US diplomats to leave Russia after Mr Trump ratified a vote by both houses of Congress which would impose new sanctions on the Kremlin.
Mr Putin labelled the sanctions as "unlawful" and has now moved to reduce the number of US staff in Russia to 455, the same number that Moscow has in Washington.
The Russian leader confirmed the move, telling state TV: "The American side has made a move which, it is important to note, hasn't been provoked by anything, to worsen Russian-US relations.
"This includes the unlawful restrictions, attempts to influence other states of the world, including our allies, who are interested in developing and keeping relations with Russia.
"We've been waiting for quite a long time that maybe something would change for the better, we had hopes that the situation would change. But it looks like, it's not going to change in the near future..

NEWCASTLE plan to make Arsenal striker Lucas Perez their main man up front – despite his dream to go back to Spain.
Perez wants a return to La Liga, where his former club Deportivo La Coruna are among a handful who would take the respected forward. Newcastle have emerged as a possible destination for Arsenal striker Lucas Perez.
The Magpies are eyeing up a potential move for the 28-year-old who is unhappy at the Emirates.
But as Arsenal try to find a buyer for their forgotten hitman – rather than organise a loan move to Spain, Newcastle asked about Perez and would be prepared to make him their new No 9.
Perez, 28, has lost out on that number at the Emirates to new signing Alexandre Lacazette.
Now the Toon hope they can offer a bigger fee to the Gunners to swing the deal for the forward, who joined Arsenal only last year for £17million and who wants to try to make Spain's World Cup squad next year.
Newcastle are growing desperate in their hunt for a new striker. Cedric Bakambu at Villarreal has not encouraged them, while they lost out on Chelsea's Tammy Abraham when he joined Swansea on loan.

Players battle for a chance to throw at Auckland Darts Masters
Auckland player Mick Lacey lets fly at the 2016 qualifiers for the Auckland Dart Masters. Darts will be flying in west Auckland this week as players compete for a spot at the World Series of Darts.
Winners from the competition at the Swanson Memorial Returned Services Association on August 3-5 would compete in the Auckland Dart Masters, from August 11-13. There are three qualifying places up for grabs.
The qualifiers would be part of eight oceanic representatives to compete against eight Profession Darts Cooperation (PDC) players at The Trusts Arena, Henderson, event, the PDC website said. Wayne McBeathwas a director at Dart Players New Zealand and said this was the third Auckland Dart Masters event.
McBeath said more than 50 people were expected at the qualifiers and anyone could come along to watch. He said sometimes people came out of the woodwork who had never competed before.
The qualifiers included groups of five or six players that would play against each other in a round robin, McBeath said. In the groups of six, players would need three wins to qualify for the knock out.
Players in groups of five would need two wins. McBeath said to be a competitive darts player you needed skill and natural ability.
But at the end of the day it really came down to practise, he said. If you had a natural ability to become really good it was like any sport, you had to put the time in.
PDC press release said that last years winner of the Auckland Dart Masters, Scottish player Gary Anderson, had been invited to compete at the Auckland Darts Masters.
The top two players from the Dart Players New Zealand ranking, Rob Szabo and Warren Parry, had been selected to compete as Oceanic representatives. Cody Harris from Auckland had also been selected as an Oceanic representative.
The eight PDC players would also compete in at the Perth Dart Masters and Melbourne Dart Masters. The event is open to female and male players.
