Tottenham stance opens door for Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea in Ross Barkley pursuit
Tottenham are reportedly unwilling to meet Everton's £40million valuation of Ross Barkley, presenting an opportunity for other clubs to swoop for the playmaker.
The England international is out of contract in 12 months and has indicated to Everton that he is keen for a new challenge. Toffees manager Ronald Koeman confirmed last week that Barkley will '100%' leave Goodison Park this summer.
Tottenham, who are yet to sign a single player this summer, have been the club most consistently linked with the 23-year-old.
However, according to The Mirror, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy believes Everton are asking too much for a player who can leave for free in a year.
It's thought Spurs will wait until the close of the window when Everton will be forced to lower their asking price if they want to offload their most creative player.
But while he might be cheaper, Tottenham could end up missing out altogether. Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all reportedly monitoring the situation and will consider making a move.
While Barkley has struggled to fulfil the huge expectations that came with his emergence at Everton, at his age he still has huge scope for improvement.
And that said he was involved in 13 Premier League goals this term – five goals and eight assists. Meanwhile his nationality is a bonus from a marketing perspective and he fulfils home grown rules having come through the Everton academy.

choice of their eldest child's first 'big school," Thomas wrote, as per News Corp.

He cited there will be changes to communication and security measures around the school when
the prince begins his term.
Thomas's Battersea is one of London's top private schools.
Some 540 students between four to 13-years-old attend the institution for $5,620 (�4,500)
a term.
The school specializes in sports, art, music, drama and ballet.
"We place a greater emphasis on a set of core values, which include kindness, courtesy,
confidence, humility and learning to be givers, not takers," the headmaster said.
Students of Thomas's Battersea are also encouraged inclusivity and discouraged from picking out
