Bob Stoops: 'We're Going to Need to Tackle Well and Be Physical'
Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops knows better than anyone that for his team to win the Sugar Bowl for
a second time in four season the Sooners must run the football and stop Auburn from doing the same.
The two keys are the same for both OU and Auburn in the 83rd annual Sugar Bowl: run the football and stop the run.
Everything else in the game will stem from that very simple formula.
The Big 12-champion Sooners are playing in their 50th postseason bowl game all-time and looking for their sixth win in eight Sugar Bowl appearances.
"Every year, it's important to win your last game," said Stoops in a press conference
held on Sunday on the eve of this season's New Year Six Sugar Bowl contest between No. 7 Oklahoma and No. 14 Auburn.
"It makes for a better, you know, out of season."
The OU head coach was asked about the challenge of slowing down Auburn's outstanding running game:
"They've (Auburn) got a lot of motion. A lot of distractions to try to get you out of your space or get your eyes in the wrong place,
with a big physical back (Kamryn Pettway) that is back and healthy," Stoops said. "That's another challenge just with his strength and size.
"It will take a lot of discipline defensively to be where we need to be. Then we're going to need to tackle well
and be physical." –OU head coach Bob Stoops"It will take a lot of discipline defensively to be where we need to be,
and then we're going to need to tackle well and be physical.
The Oklahoma offensive line is going to face and equally strong challenge going toe to toe with a big,
strong and highly talented Auburn defensive front when the Sooners have the ball.
"Our (offensive) line has done an excellent job through the year of jelling as we went through the season,
(and) got better and better," Stoops said to reporters on Sunday. "We're going to face a great defensive line.
Two guys that really stick out there are (Carl) Lawson and (Montravius) Adams.
But all the guys that rotate in there with them really do an excellent job; so very physical and active up front.
"In the end, it gets down to blocking, tackling and executing," said the Sooner head coach of 18 seasons.
On Monday night, the team that performs these fundamental skills best will be celebrating after a Sugar Bowl win.

D.I.Y. Magnetic Knife Rack - D.I.Y. At Bunnings - Duration: 2:09.
If you're sick of losing your knives in your drawer, can't find them, I've got the answer
for you, a magnetic knife rack.
It's so easy to access.
What's not to like about this project?
Let's get started.
I've got just the spot to put it.
These are the tools and materials you need to make the magnetic knife rack.
What we're going to do now is we're going to divide up all the sections on your timber
for where your magnets are going to go.
Let's cut the holes for the magnets.
Get a router and set it to the required depth remembering to leave a few millimeters at
the front of the timber, leaving space in from the edges, route into the timber, top
left and bottom right of each section.
Remember, don't plunge all the way through.
Leave a few millimeters so the magnet sits in there and the field is still strong.
As you can see, we've now cut all our holes.
I've offset them because I need full magnet power to hold on my knives.
I'll just show you.
By putting my magnet in, we can see by having another magnet this is how my knife's going
to stick on it.
Next, put in a drop of all-purpose silicon into each hole, insert the magnets, pressing
gently and cover with a piece of tape.
Now that the silicon has dried in our magnets, we're ready to sand.
We're going to finish our knife rack.
You can paint it, lacquer it or wax it.
I really like the wax look because it gives it that natural look.
Our magnetic knife rack is now complete.
We now need to attach it with screws to the wall.
Doesn't that look great?
This simply project is a win-win for the look and functionality of your kitchen.
We've taken it from this to this.

Danish court extends detention period for Choi Soon-sil's daughter, Chung Yoo-ra - Duration: 1:03.
A court in Denmark has extended the detention period of Chung Yoo-ra, the daughter of Choi
Soon-sil,... who was taken in by local police earlier this week on charges of illegally
staying in the country.
Local authorities say the 20-year-old can now be held... for up to four more weeks while
she is investigated by local prosecutors.
Chung's lawyer says they will lodge an appeal against the decision.
Chung has reportedly agreed to return to Korea and undergo questioning by the independent
counsel...
IF the Korean authorities allow her to take care of her 19 month-old son while she does
so.
Sources say Chung denies all the allegations surrounding her,... adding that she didn't
know anything about her mother's wrongdoings.
Choi Soon-sil is the woman at the heart of the scandal who allegedly used her friendship
with President Park Geun-hye for her own personal gain.
Korea's justice ministry is said to be working closely with the relevant authorities for
Chung's swift extradition.

WHAT'S REALLY MADE IN JAPAN? Ask Japanese WHAT'S MADE IN..... FOR YOU? - Duration: 6:00.
That's deep culture there.
That's truly "Made in Japan", right?
Nice one.
Hamburgers!
China!
Hey it's Cathy Cat and today we are gonna ask Japanese what they think
is MADE IN JAPAN. Something that comes into their heads when they
hear that word. Also, we will ask them what they think of when I say
MADE IN. Let's go and Ask Japanese.
- Kimono. - Have you worn one yet? -Yes.
Kimono. We only wear them on very special occasions.
It's MADE IN JAPAN.
- When do you wear it? - For graduation.
I wore a Furisode Kimono (long sleeves)- on my school graduation ceremony.
- Can I respond with a cultural answer? - Of course.
It would have to be a Kimono. My sister will turn 20 this year.
She is looking for a Furisode Kimono right now.
- Oh those are beautiful. - I think those are very Japanese.
I think that's what MADE IN JAPAN means.
- Do you own a Kimono? - I do!
I think for foreigners there are not often clothes that you can only wear
in a certain season abroad. I haven't heard about it.
I wore my mother's Furisode and I will probably pass it on too.
- Pass it on to the next generation. - Exactly.
That's deep culture there.
That's truly "Made in Japan", right?
Nice one.
Japanese Wagashi sweets. Bean paste!
Matcha green tea. I like Matcha ice cream.
Matcha.
When I leave my house and go on the train I see a lot of Matcha things
I eat it a lot.
What Matcha goods do you recommend?
Matcha Parfait.
Sushi. I think that's a very Japanese thing.
What Sushi do you recommend?
I like Tuna.
It has to be UDON noodles. Udon are tasty.
What do you recommend?
Just Udon in broth.
You only need dashi broth and tasty Udon. With that you will win people over.
You'll understand how good it tastes with just that?
Those who know will know.
Sushi!
Sushi is super Japanese.
What do you recommend?
Japanese scallop.
- Why scallop. - She has a rare taste.
Hotate is just tasty.
CAR. Cars. Toyota is a big one. Japanese cars!
What image do you get when I say "MADE IN JAPAN"
I went to Thailand...
The camera I owned was really popular.
Japanese electrical devices seem to be popular abroad.
MADE IN JAPAN as well fabricated products?
I think that's the image many have.
We have many hot spring resorts.
I think that's very Japanese.
In Japan you can wear the clothes you like.
People don't really say anything about it.
Whatever you think is "kawaii" you can wear the way you like.
Clothes like Lolita fashion, those long dresses.
Also people who wear the typical colorful styles of Harajuku.
And people who wear this simple style.
And boyish clothes. I think it more fun the more variety we have.
When I hear Made in Japan...
I think of things that are good and are of high quality.
So your image of things "Made in Japan" is high quality?
Saying this as Japanese ... but still I think so.
America! Like Hamburgers!
I think we have lots of things made in China.
- China. - I think China too. Many things come from there.
China.
When you buy something and turn it over it will often say
Made in China.
I think i would have to be China.
Japan produces many clothes in China and Vietnam.
If you check the tags they generally say China on it.
That's where my "Made in China" image comes from.
Recently Vietnam and Thailand have become more visible too.
I think all of my clothes might be from there.
Everything you are wearing now?
We don't really have many clothes made in Japan.
And if we do it's really expensive.
Japanese clothes are expensive.
If you want cheap clothes they generally come from China.
?
If you turn over toys they will often say made in China.
For example the Happy Meal toys from MC Donald's are made in China.
Cheap things are generally made in China.
If you see two similar things, the cheaper one will be made in China.
Before buying things from China I usually think a bit.
If things are from Japan or the USA I buy them without a second thought.
I buy products from Japan without hesitation.
Those were all the questions, thank you.
Made in Japan! Kimono we had there, we had Matcha tea...
We had Sushi and other traditional things that people in Japan
think "That is MADE IN JAPAN."
Many people abroad will first say sushi, while Japanese most said Kimono.
A different thing that comes into their minds first when they think of
MADE IN JAPAN
What is MADE in JAPAN for you? Let me know! Looking forward to your comments.
Don't forget to join me on my channel for a couple of random things
about Japan, living in Japan and Japanese culture.
And ... catch you soon on ... Ask Japanese...
(towards the director) ... And you're dancing?
Very pretty!

Islamic State group claims responsibility for terror attack at Istanbul nightclub - Duration: 1:36.
Islamic State militants have claimed responsibility for the New Year's Eve massacre at an Istanbul
nightclub that killed 39 people.
Turkish police say they've rounded up a dozen people in connection with the shootings, but
the gunman himself is still at large.
Kim Mok-yeon reports.
In a statement released through its Amaq news agency on Monday, the Islamic State group
said the attack was carried out by a "heroic soldier of the caliphate".
It said the attacker was following the orders of the group's leader.
At a cabinet meeting in Ankara, Turkey's deputy prime minister said the authorities are getting
closer to identifying the suspect.
Edit No1123 "...Information about the fingerprints and
basic appearance of the terrorist have been found.
In the process after this, work to identify him swiftly will be carried out.
We hope that we will find not only the terrorist but also his connections and those who gave
him support inside and outside the nightclub."
He also stated that the Turkish government is cracking down on provocative social media
accounts, adding that people posting pro-terrorism messages will face the full force of the law.
A massive manhunt is still underway, and police are looking into whether the killer belongs
to the same cell that attacked Istanbul's airport in June last year.
Turkish authorities have released several grainy pictures of the suspect, and said they
have made twelve arrests so far.
Local media reports say the suspect may have been from Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan.
The nightclub massacre marks the 19th major terror attack on Turkey since 2015.
