Waching daily Apr 27 2017

For some reason or another,... North Korea decided against launching any major provocations

to mark a number of key anniversaries in April.

Most experts believe it's because the regime bowed to pressure from its long-standing ally,

China.

But will Beijing continue to keep the heat on Pyongyang?

Connie Kim reports.

China has shown a tougher stance on North Korea for its nuclear weapons and missiles

following the summit earlier this month between Presidents Trump and Xi.

To show it's serious about the issue,... on day two of that summit, China's customs agency

issued an official order telling trading companies to send back shipments of North Korean coal.

This month has seen intense scrutiny of the North, which celebrated its late founder Kim

Il-sung's birthday and the anniversary of the founding of its army -- possible occasions

for it to carry out provocations.

China's foreign ministry warned North Korea not to take actions that raise tensions on

the Korean peninsula, and Beijing's state media threatened that oil supplies to the

North could be cut -- a brutal blow for Pyongyang, which relies heavily on China for oil.

So far, pressure from China and the U.S. seems to be working.

Pyongyang did not end up launching missiles or testing a nuclear device on those dates.

"The Chinese have a lot more room than they let on.

They could block North Korean money in Chinese banks for example.

This oil embargo we are seeing right now again we don't know how serious Chinese are but

it seems to be having effect.// They could restrict Air Koryo, lots of things they can

do."

For the U.S., it's important for China to play an active role in putting a stop to North

Korea's nuclear weapons development.

"It is an outlaw regime, they've built a nuclear weapons capability.

//They've now threatened the west coast of the United States with the possibility that

in the future, in just a few years they might have a nuclear warhead and ballistic missile

capable of hitting California and Washington and Oregon.

But, now that those key anniversaries in the regime have passed without provocations, China

seems to be moving back towards its original North Korea policy.

Air China is resuming flights between Beijing and Pyongyang next month after a three-week

suspension, and an editorial by China's state-run Global Times floated the idea of offering

carrots to North Korea, claiming sticks alone might not stop the North's nuclear and missile

threats.

Kate Middleton Steps Out For Royal Appearance Wearing Queen Elizabeth's Bling - Duration: 1:51.

After spending a week with her family on the beach in Mustique Kate Middleton finally returned

home and almost immediately her royal duties were calling.

On February 11th the duchess stepped out for her first official appearance of the new year.

She attended the Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery and the event was aimed at

raising funds for the gallerys daily operations.

The 23rd print edition of British OK magazine goes behind the scenes with Kate as she prepared

for her evening of charitable work.

She was dressed in a floor length Jenny Packham gown and the dress was secondary to the jewels

adorning Kates neck.

Prince Williams wife has been allowed to wear some of Queen Elizabeths jewelry for

official appearances and the necklace that Kate wore to the Portrait Gala was certainly

fit for a queen.

Being allowed to dip into The Queens goodies is a reward that has been given to Kate for

making some changes to her wardrobe.

She suffered a few recent wardrobe malfunctions that left her exposing her panties to commoners

and its simply an unacceptable situation especially if she hopes to someday be queen.

Elizabeth is rumored to have sat Kate down for a chat and she is now working on creating

a classier look- one that features longer hemlines.

The queen knew that she was asking Kate to really compromise her own personal style and

so she has allowed her to dip into the royal jewels to lessen the blow.

Do you think Kate looks better in a more demure dress, especially if she gets to show off

serious bling?

Tell us your thoughts on Kates evolving style in the comments below! thanks for watching.

[2017 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION] Meet the Candidates: #2 Self-Described "Strongman" Hong Joon-pyo - Duration: 9:17.

Hong Joon-pyo, presidential nominee for Liberty Korea Party running in South Korea's 2017

presidential election, thank you for squeezing time out of your busy campaigning schedule.

You've been a politician for over two decades now.

Why is it now that you're running for the presidency?

Why not before?

Why do you feel ready for the top office now?

The Republic of Korea is currently in total chaos;

from politics, economy, society, culture,

and diplomacy to national defense.

In order to restore stability and lead the nation forward, we need strong

leadership.

The times call for a president with strong determination

and conviction.

This is the reason I am running for President.

From an objective point of you, you're not running an easy race here.

For a whole host of reasons in this nation at the moment, polls show it is very likely

that the country will elect a left-wing president in May 9.

You are - most would agree with me - You are the most conservative candidate in this year's

race.

Are you confident that you will win?

South Korea has a relatively shorter history of party politics compared to the United States.

Political parties in South Korea generally last no longer than five years;

a government turnover defines a change in leadership, not a change of political

parties.

When there was a power transfer from the Lee Myung-bak to Park Geun-hye administration,

Park government wasn't acting as the second Lee administration.

It was a completely new government.

In that vein, the new Hong Joon-pyo government will be an entirely different administration

from that of Park's.

Therefore, a government turnover in South Korea

is equivalent to a change in leadership.

The Korean peninsula at the moment is under international radar.

There's been a rapid escalation of tensions in this part of the world.

Continuous provocations by the North Korean regime.

What is your policy vis-a-vis Pyongyang?

For the past 20 years, South Korea has been committed to resolving

inter-Korean tensions through diplomacy

such as the six-party denuclearization talks.

There hasn't been any progress.

During the 20 years of South Korea's diplomatic efforts,

North Korea was focused on developing nuclear weapons.

The amount of money sent to North Korea

over the ten years of Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moon-hyun administrations tops US$

7 billion.

That funding support came back as nuclear weapons.

North Korea's nuclear ambitions can no longer be tolerated.

When I become the president, I will consult with the U.S.

in deploying tactical nuclear weapons to South Korea to strike a nuclear balance

between the two Koreas.

There is no other way to gain dominance over nuclear weapons but with nuclear weapons.

I will set up a Naval Special Warfare Command and lead a South, North Korea Armed Peace

Policy through military might and power dominance.

On the diplomatic front - South Korea not in the best situation currently.

There is a new president in the White House - very different from the last president with

a seemingly different approach to the North Korea issue.

There is China to the north, in a clash of interest with South Korea.

How would you best situate yourself so that South Korea puts the best foot forward in

this complex relationship?

There is Donald Trump in the U.S., Xi Jinping in China, and Shinzo Abe in Japan.

It's an era of 'strongmen.'

In order to negotiate and work with them, South Korea also needs a 'strongman' from

a right-wing government.

I have no doubt that I am the only candidate with strong enough conviction and viewpoint

on national security to lead this country.

Only those with resolution and determination like myself can negotiate with these 'strongmen.'

I have no doubt that I am the only one who can take on that task.

Why do you describe yourself as a 'strongman'?

Because that's how I've been for the last 22 years; as a prosecutor, as a politician.

There is no one like Hong Joon-pyo when it comes to execution.

Economic growth and jobs.

I think it's an issue that comes up every election season and not only here but all

across the globe.

Do you have a blueprint for Asia's fourth-largest economy?

The reason behind Korea's low economic growth and shortage of jobs for the youths stands

powerful and noble labor unions.

These mega-powerful noble labor unions that make up less than 3% of the entire labor force

discourage corporate investments and drive Korean firms overseas.

If I come to power, I will carry out a thorough reform of these superpower noble labor unions.

As long as we can take care of those superpower noble labor unions that disturb Korea's labor

market, prevent foreign investment, and drive Korean companies overseas, Korea can grow

again and jobs will begin to flourish.

Politicians have been too mindful of these superpower noble labor unions, thus far.

When I was Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do Province, I faced off these unions for three whole years.

It was sparked by our provincial government's decision to close down a debt-ridden public

hospital.

In the end, I got my way over theirs.

I, Hong Joon-pyo, am the only person who's faced these unions and won.

You are running under the slogan "Proud ordinary president."

What does that mean?

I want to build a country where the middle-class, the ordinary Korean people that make up 70%

of the entire population can live with hope, realizing their dreams.

I've endured tough times growing up and even up until this day.

But, I pulled through all on my own; I've never been swayed by political factions and

never by anything when I served as prosecutor.

Should I be elected president, I want to create a country where the younger generation can

live with hope and dream; I want to create a country for the 70% of the Korean population:

The middle class, the average, ordinary people.

Now, my final question - a common question to all candidates.

What is your edge over others?

Why does the Republic of Korea need Hong Joon-pyo as president in 2017?

First of all, the country needs a president who places absolute priority on security.

Inter-Korean tensions are high and there is flaring tensions between North Korea and the

U.S.

This is just as bad as it gets.

We need a president who can deter North Korea's nuclear weapons; one who can dominate North

Korea.

It will be tragic for the next generation if we elect a president who compromises with

the North and send dollars across the border.

The times call for a strong, powerful president who can protect the lives of the 50-million

strong population here.

For these reasons, there is no one else but Hong Joon-pyo for the job.

I will do my absolute best to become the president so that I can create a country where the lives

and assets of the 50 million South Koreans are protected; where the middle-class, the

average, ordinary people, and the younger generation can live with hope and dream about

the future.

Best of luck to you, Hong Joon-pyo and thank you for this interview.

We appreciate it.

Intermediate Poi Dancing Combo Tutorial: April 2017 - Duration: 6:05.

Hey gang!

Drex here from Drexfactor.com with a new poi combo for the month of April.

This is going to be a little longer and involve more tricks than last month's combo, but

it has a couple really cool transitions that I think you guys will like in it.

For this month you're going to need the following tricks under your belt: Stalls,

Windmills, Snakes, Isolations, Cateye vs Isolation, and Yuta Stalls.

As always, I'll first show you the combo at full speed, then break it down piece by

piece and finally finish out with the combo in slow motion.

Before we dive in, I just want to take a moment to give a shout out to the friends of the

channel!

Big thanks to Dark Monk, Spinballs, and Ultra Poi for helping to make the videos on this

channel possible.

You can visit them all on the web by following the links down in the description of this

video.

Now on with the show!

Okay, so this starts out with you facing away from the audience, arms outstretched and the

poi drooping down.

You'll start off by turning your right hand poi clockwise relative to you and bringing

it around to up stall next to your left hand.

I recommend stepping your right foot over next to the left as you do this and facing

toward both your poi.

Now we're going to turn from facing away from the audience to facing toward them.

Bring your left hand up and over as your right hand goes under in split opposites and step

out with your left foot out.

Next we're going to do three more split opposites stalls in double time.

If you think of those first two stalls as being 1-2, then think of these next three

stalls as being 1-and-2.

It'll always be the left hand stalling down and the right hand stalling up, meaning that

the left hand always goes over top and the right hand goes down and around.

We're going to do one more stall here: the right is going to go down and around all on

its own to stall upward on the right hand side.

From here, we're going to drop the right hand down and pick the left hand up to enter

a clockwise windmill.

You'll want to complete a single beat with each poi behind your head and as the left

hand poi comes back around in front, you're going to drop it down as low as you can reach.

You're going to let the left hand lead you through a pirouette, turning all the way back

to front.

Basically, as the left hand goes up and around, keep it at the center of your vision and follow

it and it should take you through the complete turn.

Do another windmill when you get back to facing the audience and this time when the left hand

pulls back in front again, let it complete a downbeat and when the right hand comes around

to meet it initiate a snake out to the sides and then back to the center.

When you've returned to the center, turn that hands together position for the middle

of the snake into an isolation.

I'm actually not picky about how long you stay in the isolation and by all means if

you need to, catch your breath right here because we're getting into the home stretch.

Your first move is going to be to wait for that moment when your arms are slightly crossed

and change the direction of your right hand, letting the poi drop into a cateye.

One crucial thing: let the left hand continue on its merry way.

Your hands should still be aligned for an isolation, so you'll be dropped straight

into an isolation vs cateye.

Now, you're only going to complete one of these before you switch things up.

On your second cateye after you've completed the top of it, you're going to drop down

to the arms crossed position and immediately reverse the direction of your hand back up

to the top, doing a side stall in the process.

Also stop the movement of your left hand poi and it should just pendulum off to the right.

This should mean you get both poi pointing straight out to the right.

Now pull back from the top side stall as the left hand poi reverses its pendulum, getting

them to meet once again to do the top of an isolation vs cateye going back to the right

before once again pulling the right hand out to side stall to the left and turning the

isolation into a pendulum to the left.

Pull both poi back to repeat this pattern once again over to the left hand side.

This time when you get to the poi both pointed to the ride side, you're going to turn this

into a Yuta stall, turning all the way around with the poi out to the side.

When you return to the front, let the poi pendulum to the left, to the right, and finally

bring your hands above the poi on the end of the pendulums to stop their movement.

Congratulations, you're done.

So, the entire combo now from the beginning is: back to the audience, we sweep the right

hand down and around to stall, we stall again, again, again, stall with the right hand, windmill,

and we pirouette around, windmill, snake, snake, isolation, switch to isolation versus

cateye, and stall right, stall left, stall right, Yuta stall, pendulum, and stop both

of the poi.

Now let's see that again in slow-mo.

There's a lot going on here, but none of the individual

tricks is that difficult.

There's just a lot of really rapid changes between them.

This will actually be great for helping you to move quickly with the prop and find transition

points that are only possible with a lot of momentum.

You can show me your version of this pattern by shooting video and posting it to Instagram

with the hashtag #drexfactorpoi.

Thanks so much for watching and enjoy the flow!

Peace.
