I would like to speak about diversity in Canada.

Diversity in Canada means many people in Canada can respect and accept each other with politeness.

Even if they are different from each other.

In Canada there are over 34 million people of various races.

So, that is why they have different cultures, different languages.

I think diversity in Canada is based on human nature.

Like understanding, acceptance, forgiveness and love.

Thank you.

Sofia Vergara Frozen Embryo Lawsuit Filed By Ex Nick Loeb Is Dismissed By Louisiana Judge

Sofia Vergara has scored a victory in her frozen embryo battle with her ex-fiancé, Nick Loeb, as a judge has dismissed the case in the state of Louisiana, Us Weekly can confirm.

According to documents obtained by TMZ on Friday, August 25, the judge presiding over the case stated that the court had no jurisdiction over the decision because the embryos were conceived in California, and neither the Modern Family star nor Loeb has any permanent ties to Louisiana.

Although Loeb claimed he and Vergara, 45, planned to spend their life together in the state, the judge noted that the businessman most likely filed in Louisiana because of its favorable laws regarding the rights of unborn children.

The judge also referred to the embryos as citizens of California before remarking that weighing in on the case would require a potential constitutional evaluation over the embryos rights.

As previously reported, the actress and the Onion Crunch creator created two female embryos through IVF when they were still together and have battled over their fate since splitting in May 2014.

The former couple had originally agreed to keep the embryos in storage until both parties signed documents stating otherwise.

However, Loeb sued Vergara in April 2015 in California, where the judge in that case ruled Loeb would have to disclose two exes who had abortions in order for that case to continue.

The Hot Pursuit actress legal war with her ex has fueled discussions as to whether men should have the same rights as women over frozen embryos.

Loeb spoke with Us Weekly in April 2015 about his desire to be a parent, saying, "I created these two female embryos with the purpose of taking them to term and not destruction, because I have always dreamed of being a father.

I have previously offered to waive any parental or financial responsibilities on the part of my ex.

… When a man does want to become a father, and wants to impose no obligations on the other party, he should have that corresponding right..

At the time, the Emmy nominee's lawyer told Us in a statement that Vergara, "who has happily moved on with her life, is content to leave the embryos frozen indefinitely as she has no desire to have children with her ex, which should be understandable given the circumstances.

Vergara married True Blood star Joe Manganiello in November 2015. She is also the mother of Manolo, 24, with ex-husband Joe Gonzalez.

Earlier this year she filed legal documents in California asking the court system to block Loeb from trying to take control of their embryos, which remain frozen at a fertility clinic in Los Angeles.

To me Canada means safety.

It means there is space for every culture, for every religion, for every race.

Canada opens opportunities for everyone and everything from house care to career development and so much more.

Canada is like a canvas, it's up to you to decide to keep painting the same old picture or create a new one.

Let's show more respect for everything that is alive - Duration: 5:02.

Hello, welcome at this new vlog of Belicons.

Nice that you are watching.

This week my blog and vlog are about barn fires.

In The Netherlands hundreds of thousands of animals die each year in barn fires.

And the way the government tries to stop this shows that they regard these animals as nothing

more than just economic goods.

And that isn't right, for this is a terrible death for the animals in these barns.

When I was reading about why the problem of barn fires still hasn't been solved, I read

an article on a website of a TV program that was very impressing.

It was about veteri narian Arabella Burgers who could not stand any more to see the suffering

of the animals in the livestock farming and decided to do something about this.

It is of course great that she does this, but it's also sad that it's necessary.

There are inspectors who just don't dare to fine companies who mistreat animals and

there are veterinarians who just say that something is no animal suffering although they know it is.

And unfortunately, this is hard to change.

This made me think about other cases in which we don't stand up for something that is weaker than we are.

For example the elderly.

I don't know what it is like in your country, but in The Netherlands a lot of money that

should go to the care for the elderly isn't spent on the elderly at all.

Fortunately, there are people who stand up against this too.

For example Jan Slagter who has built a nursing home in which they don't need any managers

and in which the administrative work is levelled down to whatever is really necessary.

But he also said that he could only do this because he has a large network and he could

raise the money because on his own.

But for other people this will become very difficult.

Banks didn't want to give him a loan since both the city and the housing corporations

didn't want to vouch for him because they didn't think it was their job to do so.

And that shows that there really is a system here too that isn't easy to change.

So in case of livestock farming and in case of the care for the elderly, we see similar things happening.

We see a system in which there is suffering, but the system is as complicated that this isn't easy to change.

And the problem is money.

Meat and eggs can only be as cheap as they are now when the production costs are very low.

So as long as animal products are as cheap, there won't be any money left to give the

animals a pleasant life.

And the same that goes for care for the elderly.

A lot of money goes to things that have nothing to do with care.

Managers, stockholders.

Jan Slagter mentioned that some nursing homes even hired a PR communication expert.

And all this money is not being spent in ways in order to give the elderly a pleasant life.

And in both systems the ones who are suffering don't have the opportunity to stand up for themselves.

They depend on others to do so.

Fortunately, there are people who do this and because of them we all start to realize

that things really need to change.

But these individuals cannot change the whole system.

So we all need to do what we can to help them.

But the question then is: 'How?'

Well, I think that this starts with having more respect for everything that is alive.

An animal that has been born to be eaten has the same amount of feelings and emotions as

an animal that we pamper as a pet.

So as long as it is alive it deserves to be treated with respect.

And that will cost more money and thus we need to regard it as normal

that animal products cost more money.

But since we don't need to eat and drink animal products each day, we don't need

to worry about that.

And also an elderly person who is demented can have a lot of fun in life and deserves that.

So when you know an elderly person in a nursing home and you see that he or she doesn't

get enough care, then try to find out where the money is being spent on and share that story.

Maybe that nursing home has a PR communication expert too?

Care for the elderly should really revolve around the elderly and livestock farming should

revolve around the animals.

When we all start to realize that and stand up, then things can really start to change.

Let's remind each other of the fact that everything that is alive deserves respect,

for the more we start to realize that, the quicker we can change such systems.

These are my ideas.

Let me know what you think, on Belicons or on YouTube.

And don't forget to mention your arguments of course.

I'm really curious and I will see you next week.

Bye!
