town of PyeongChang, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach says he sees

Chelsea vs. Everton, Premier League: Three keys to the match for Antonio Conte

Keep David Luiz in midfield.

With Eden Hazard out once again, I like the idea of continuing with some form of last week's lineup, especially slotting David Luiz in that deep midfield slot to plug the gaps, block the middle and be a defensive playmaker.

Hazard being out gives Conte a good excuse to try this out once again, plus I think it works better tactically against Everton, specifically against one Mr Rooney, which I go over later on.

David Luiz was one of Chelsea's best against Tottenham. He paired perfectly with NGolo Kanté in defending Tottenham's midfield runs. Putting David Luiz in the midfield once again would serve Chelsea well in stopping Everton's attack.

He's the perfect candidate to monitor the edge of box runs on which Wayne Rooney has been thriving in his first two games back at Everton.

Let Tiemoué Bakayoko control the ball. Bakayoko had a solid outing against Tottenham. Despite playing on one leg, as Joe Tweedie discussed, he was a solid addition to Chelsea's midfield.

As he continues to improve in fitness that will of course get better. However, against Everton he has a chance to shine in his ability to carry the ball and dominate psychically, even if he doesn't start.

Morgan Schneiderlin is out for Everton, so their midfield is already a bit depleted.

If we're to assume that Idrissa Gueye and Tom Davies will pick up more of the main defensive responsibility in Schneiderlin's absence, then Bakayoko has a good chance to impose himself on the game.

Gueye was the leading tackler in the Premier League last year. Seeing how Bakayoko can handle and work around the Kanté-esque talents of Gueye will be fascinating.

His ability to divert and continue play around Gueye will be important to Chelsea's midfield success from either the start of the game, or in the second half as a sub.

Contain Wayne Rooney's runs. I really can't believe this is a key.

However, based off their first two games, Everton's biggest threat offensively is Wayne Rooney, who is presumably still the same Wayne Rooney who's been dying a slow death as a football at Manchester United over the last few years.

Everton's creativity in possession is lacking and Rooney's natural goal-scoring ability seems to be their main offensive hope. And thus far, it's working. They beat Stoke City 1-0 and drew with Manchester City 1-1, with Rooney scoring both of their goals.

Based off the small sample size, Chelsea should be able to mitigate Rooney's effectiveness one of two ways: stopping the driven crosses in from the wings, or simply man-marking Rooney effectively in the box.

Putting David Luiz in midfield would be an excellent move to combat this as he is more than capable of marking Rooney on these awkwardly slow and oddly successful runs.
