Welcome back!

So you worked a little on the concept of orthogonal projections?

Good!

The fact that u1 is the projection of u onto v implies that u1 is parallel to v,

so it is a scalar multiple of v, which amounts to saying that u1 equals c times v for some scalar c.

Since u1 plus u2 equals u we can conclude that u2 equals u minus u1.

Furthermore u2 and v are orthogonal.

This implies that the dot product of u2 and v equals 0.

Plugging these in, we find the inner product of (u minus cv) and v equals 0.

So?

Well since u and v are known, this equation contains only one unknown variable, namely c.

This means that we can solve for c and thus obtain u1, the projection of u onto v,

which is what this was all about in the first place.

By using the mathematical rules of the dot product you can rewrite the equation

as the dot product of u and v minus the dot product of cv and v equals zero.

A slight modification yields c times the dot product of v and itself

equals the dot product of u and v.

Consequently c is equal to the dot product of u and v

divided by the dot product of v and itself or equivalently:

c equals the dot product of u and v divided by the square of the length of v.

So you found that u1, the orthogonal projection of u onto v

equals the vector v scaled by the dot product of u and v divided by the square of the length of v.

The signed magnitude of the orthogonal projection of u onto v is called the scalar projection of u onto v.

In fact, the absolute value of the scalar projection is equal to the length of the orthogonal projection

(the proof of this statement is left to you as one of the exercises!)

Let's now return to our moving car.

Imagine the constant force F is given by the vector (-3/4) and the displacement vector s by (-5/0).

Compute the resultant force F1 in the direction of s, where F1 equals c times s

and c equals the dot product of F and s divided by the length of F squared.

The dot product of F and s is equal to 15.

The length of F is equal to the square root of 9 plus 16 which is 5.

So the scalar c is equal to 0.6.

This means that the vector F1, the projection of F onto s, is equal to 0.6 times s.

The fact that the scalar projection is a "signed" magnitude,

can be seen from the relationship between the scalar projection and the inner product of u and v.

This - as you know from the geometric definition of the dot product -

is equal to the length of u times the length of v times the cosine of the angle between u and v,

divided by the length of v,

which is equal to the length of u times the cosine of alpha.

Indeed, if the angle is obtuse, that is greater than pi over 2,

the cosine is smaller than zero, making c negative.

You now know how to calculate orthogonal projections and scalar projections:

The orthogonal projection of u onto v is a vector in the direction of v,

which is the result of walking from u in a direction perpendicular to v;

the scalar projection of u onto v is a scalar giving the signed length of the orthogonal projection.

Please work on the exercises following this video to actually become able to compute these

in any given situation!

Thank you for watching!

Tour de France 2017: Andre Cardoso suspended for DOPING days before race - Duration: 3:36.

Tour de France 2017: Andre Cardoso suspended for DOPING days before race

Cardoso, who has just one professional win to his name and would have been riding in his eight grand tour before he failed a test for the banned blood-booster erythropoietin (EPO).

The 32-year-old had been included in Trek-Segafredos team for the Tour de France that starts on Saturday in Dusseldorf, Germany. To our cycling family, we have some disappointing news to share, a team statement yesterday said.

It is with deep disappointment that we have just learned that our rider, Andre Cardoso, has tested positive for a prohibited substance.   In accordance with our zero tolerance policy, he has been suspended immediately.

We hold our riders and staff to the highest ethical standards and will act and communicate accordingly as more details become available. Cardoso has two top-20 finishes in the Vuelta a Espana and Giro dItalia and was expected to be one of the key climbers in the Trek-Segafredo team.

And this was set to be the Portuguese riders Tour de France debut, which he described as an honour before a negative test on June 18.

I believe in clean sport and have always conducted myself as a clean athlete, but I realise that this news puts a dark cloud on not just myself but also on our sport and my team, team-mates and staff, Cardoso said.

Before anything else, those people are my friends and colleagues for whom I have unlimited respect, and under no circumstances would I ever do something that could put them, their families or their reputations in jeopardy.

I am fully aware that I will be presumed to be guilty, but its important to me to say that I am devastated by this news and I wanted to state that I have never taken any illegal substances.

Ive seen first-hand through my career the awful effects that performance enhancing drugs have had on our sport, and I would never want to be a part of that.

Ive always tried to be a constructive influence in the peloton and on young, aspiring cyclists. It is my great hope that the B sample will come back as negative and clear me of any wrongdoing.

Until then, I hope that those who know me, trust me when I say that Im innocent, and that my colleagues and cycling fans everywhere dont judge me too quickly during this difficult time. Cardoso will be replaced by Spanish rider Haimar Zubeldia, a five-time top-10 finisher in the Tour de France.

Huge Match Happening Tonight On 'SmackDown Live' For Just The Second Time In History

After making history just one week ago with the womens Money in the Bank Ladder Match, WWE is going to have the second one ever tonight on SmackDown Live.

For some reason, the match was given one of the worst endings imaginable when James Ellsworth climbed the ladder and grabbed the briefcase for his girlfriend Carmella.

Now, there will be a rematch with things being done the way they should be and the match being settled between the five superstars.

When the five women stepped into the ring at Money In The Bank, they made history with a match that was the first of its kind.

Things were going extremely well with a really good match that saw all five of the superstars have a close shot at grabbing the briefcase and earning a shot at the SmackDown Womens Championship.

Then, James Ellsworth stepped in and ruined the entire thing. After addressing the situation on SmackDown Live last week, General Manager Daniel Bryan ordered another womens MITB match to take place on this weeks show.

The briefcase will be raised high above the mat and the first one to grab it will become Miss Money In The Bank.. wwe news money in the bank womens ladder match smackdown live.

The official website of WWE released the preview for this big match and it will have the same five competitors going after the briefcase — Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Natalya, and Tamina Snuka.

One of them will officially own the briefcase after this evening and it will be theirs for a year or until they decide to cash it in. Obviously, Carmella doesnt find this overly fair, but Bryans decision was final.

It will be interesting to see if James Ellsworth is allowed anywhere near the ring on SmackDown Live tonight.

After his interference ruined the first womens MITB ladder match, it is doubtful that he will be allowed to get involved in this one at all. wwe news money in the bank womens ladder match smackdown live.

As things currently stand, Naomi is the SmackDown Womens Champion, but she will also have a rematch from Money In The Bank tonight.

She is taking on Lana once again and the dancing Russian is hoping for a much better outcome in her second career singles match on WWEs main roster.

For just the second time in history, WWE will present a womens Money in the Bank Ladder Match for the world to enjoy.

Carmella believes she is still the rightful owner of the briefcase, but Daniel Bryan has put his foot down and stripped it from her hands.

Now, she will have to overcome Natalya, Charlotte Flair, Tamina Snuka, and Becky Lynch once more on SmackDown Live if she wants to get it back. [Featured Image by WWE].

CLH MASTERCLASS | #2| BOOKS IDEAS FOR SUMMER | ENG SUB AVAILABLE | - Duration: 11:35.

Hello ! I hope you are fine, you are well on the youtube channel "Let's play lever harp", let's go!

Method and book ideas part 2

See the part 1 - link into info bar...

You are listening "Ar Baradoz", you can buy tune and video course on the platform

The composer who currently has much success in music schools in france,

And whose music allows students to prepare auditions and competitions

It's "Monsieur" Bernard Andres, Which composed many pieces and collections

And from my point of view of Celtic harpist, I find that this gentleman understood the spirit of the harp,

But what interested me in his work of composition for the study of the harp is

Through very nice pieces, is to learn an applied technique

tuera re so many collection and tunes !

One of the favorite tunes is "Aquatintes"

you can listening differents examples on youtube channel

If you are looking for pieces in a certain classical spirit

but not too much,

"Aquatintes" and other pieces composed by Mr Andres are for you!

If you are looking for pieces designed for pedagogy, it is the best

go to Mr Andres Collection !

It is a Celtic harpist who advises you!

When you learn an instrument, I think it's important,

To know its history,

Of course, there are different periods, ancient history, egyptian, medieval ..

or 17 th century or 18th century, or in ireland..

Contemporary history - in france - with Alan Stivell, Cécile Corbel,

also Loreena McKennitt....

I think it is important, in France, to understand, how the Celtic harp evolves

We are in a period where there is a lot of boy who play the celtic harp

there is a lot of boy that play Lever harp !

and it's good !

And also the son of ... son of harp maker, son of musicians, a new generation who come

And if you are interested in the Celtic harp, it is important to understand and know its evolution

I do not know if I have already spoken about this subject before,

There is a lot of book about the history of the Celtic harp, as well as about Alan Stivell

But other books on the Celtic harp and with a pedagogical point of view, in France, that did not exist ...

Now there is only one.

this one - sorry ! only in french -

this book was written by Mariannig Larc'hantec

It 's name "the harp, instrument of the Celts"

But this is not the right title of this book

The good title is "logbook of a Celtic harp teacher"

This book was published 2/3 years ago ... I think

4 years old ! 2013..

In fact, we often see the harp from the point of view of

Alan Stivell...

With the story of the harp through the youth of Alan Stivell

To speak of his Brittany, Its origins and its commitments

In this book Mariannig takes another point of view, I show you some pictures ...

Mariannig has known the appearance of the Celtic harp in France at the same time as Alan Stivell ....

The author will explain in this book, how it was difficult to create the job of professor of Celtic harp in music schools, france

Because it was the author of this book who had the idea, who invented this work in an official way

And especially who fought for the creation of this trade.

Reason why before, before 1990, it was necessary to go through courses,

in the conservatory, but with professors who was not trained to the traditional music

It is still true today, some teachers consider the lever harp as just a learning harp and not a full instrument

I am sorry, I am the black sheep, the person who fights against the falses ideas

And I said, shit !

Stop to say that the lever harp is to learn the pedal harp !!!

There are many artists who only play on the harp with levers,

I have enough of always given examples!

Not to mention the people who are in their corner and of whom we never speak!

It is an instrument in its own right, it has qualities and defects

Like the pedal harp, no instrument is perfect!

What is interesting in this book is that there are many anecdotes,

As for example, how one tuned his harp before,

because today one has to machines but before that it was not the case ...

Or how the harpists found their harp strings, today we have stores or websites but before like it was not like that!

And therefore through all these little stories, you will learn a lot ...

And if you are serious, I look you in the eye, and you are interested in the Celtic harp,

You must read this book

Because you will learn a lot,

And also because it is also the point of view of a woman,

because until now, we had more the point of view of man ...like Alan Stivell

I think this book has an important place to understand the Celtic harp in France ...

Then the last book I want to introduce you, you will see it is quite amazing ..

It is not a collection for the celtic harp

name's book is " 100 irish ballads"

The purpose of this book is

When you are going to achieve a certain level of play,

it is to try to create your own arrangements for the celtic harp

and create your own artistic world

When I teach the harp, evidently, I teach pieces.

More or less known

More or less with arrangements

But I try to teach a state of mind

You want to learn such a piece, it is well ...

Most of the time, my sudentst want to learn known pieces

Like pieces of video game, film

See a piece that another harpist played

Either a creation or the resumption of a traditional theme

When you want to become a professional musician

It will be necessary to learn to create its own world ...

play cover, it's a good experience,

But also to compose, to play traditional pieces with your own vision, or know tune

And work to make sure to recognize the piece but with your own style!

it can be very hard !

With this little book that costs cheap! Only 7,95 €

Which is interesting

You have the melody

for example... the foggy dew

a very know traditional tune !

i made my own version you can see link in information space

on the website " let's play lever Harp"

there is the melody

but without left hand for harp !

ok ! do not panic !

But what you find in this book ...

Above the melody, you find guitar chords!

for example A minor, G, C, A minor, C, G....

it an help for the guitar player,

But also for you case you will have the basis of arrangements to develop for the harp

with this base, you can create your own left hand arrangements..

I think, too, to create a new workshop with this theme...

his training will be around a melody and I would show you, step by step, how to make various arrangements

Obviously, there are the basics, which I explained to you in a previous video

Third, fifth, octave and arpeggios

But I would suggest you go beyond these basics ..

it is very cheap and you can find a lot of different melody !

with basic guitars chords

And afterwards, get by!

i think...

and you can find so many differents books like that !

be careful, do not buy twin whistle book because you do not find guitars chords, most of the time

in this book, you find song, music and guitar chords...

this a little trick if one day, you want to make your own arrangements...

and it's same trick to play modern music, pop, rock...

Just find the melody with a guitar grid and you can your own arrangement !

the melody is same ! you must pluck the right hand

and you create your left hand ! et voila !

a very good advice to make your own recipe !

We arrive at the end of this video!

It was not easy to film today!

I hope this video has been useful to you, it's my goal...

Do not forget to check out the site "Let's play lever harp"

to get ideas for ready-to-play tracks!

If you're looking for help, I'm on Skype!

no problem !

And we see you soon for new videos!

see you soon !

Being there for my Fellow PGA Golf Professionals - Duration: 2:42.

Hey guys! You may have noticed recently that my video quality or at least the

production of putting into my videos has faltered a little bit. But that's very

intentional because what I'm really trying to do is to focus on putting out

content on a regular basis. I obviously don't have a lot of time to do that cuz

I have my full-time job.I have my family. And all of those things going on.

Plus I have been also spending a lot of time on Instagram just talking to people and

connecting and that's been a lot of fun too and that's also helping me meet a

lot of people and share what I'm doing with a lot of people. So, I'm also doing a

lot of that. So, there's just not a lot of time for me to put the production and

editing around these videos. So, I am really focused on just creating content

on a regular basis and working towards having some sort of schedule for all of

you. Because it's important to have some sort of regularity of what I'm posting.

Both for you guys as an audience to show you that I'm there and trying to bring

value to you on a regular basis. As well as it's important to YouTube as well so

in also Facebook. So, I'm working towards having more of a regular schedule where

maybe Monday is kind of like a motivation Monday where I talk about my

experience and what I'm seeing and actually producing the videos and how

I'm working that into regular life. and all of that and then maybe Tuesday's

like a pro tip Tuesday, where I talk about something from my actual experience as a

golf professional and something that you can do to improve your business. And then

maybe Wednesday is something else whatever that is so I'm kind of trying

to work towards that which means that I've got to cut up a lot of the extra

effort that goes into making these videos which is part of the fun for me.

But if I if I do that and I and I worry about the production value even this

video now just shooting it on my cell phone don't have a mic plugged in so the

quality is not going to be hundred percent good but it's about the content

and it's about putting out content on a regular schedule for all of you. I

appreciate all that you guys do. I know how busy you are so hopefully me

producing a video that I always wish that was out there when I was coming up

in the golf business and learning the golf business. I always wished that there

was somebody doing a go business show that I could watch and

interact with and other people could give their points of view on to so

that's really why I'm doing this. So, it's about the content and it's about putting

it out on a consistent and a regular schedule so that's what I'm working

towards over the next few weeks I appreciate everybody watching like me

Facebook subscribe YouTube and follow me on Instagram. Wherever you are I

appreciate it whatever you're doing thanks for

everything you do for the game.

2 Pro Tips for Shooting Professional Looking Social Media Videos - Duration: 9:40.

Congratulations! You have decided to do some videos especially for your social

media marketing for your business! I'm happy for you and now that you are all

motivated to create these amazing videos for your social media channels there's

two more things I wanted to tell you about and that's what I'm going to

talk about in today's video eTip. I am Susan Friesen with eVision Media

and today's video eTip is helping you get the best out of the videos that

you're creating with the equipment that you have and I'm going to be talking

about having the right lighting and having the right audio for your videos.

Have you ever looked at a video and you thought something was off about it?

It was grainy, it was dark, the whites looked kind of yellowish or

creamy colored, it was just fuzzy, poor quality. That is an indicator

the lighting isn't all that good. When you have that disconnect,

that feeling something is off about that video, then what is

happening is it's distracting your audience. They're more focused on

why does that colour look so weird? As opposed to actually listening to what

you have to say. Talking about listening, the other super important thing is your

audio. Obviously there are things we can get away with because these are just

social media videos. It's not as if it's a production studio quality video

you're going to be wanting to showcase on the homepage of your website - that's a

whole different ball of wax - and you would want to incorporate a

professional videographer for that. I'm talking specifically about videos for

your for your social media accounts so you can get yourself out there,

showcase your business and build your brand exposure through the use of video.

Back to the audio - the audio is just as important as the lighting because if

people can't hear what you're saying then there's no point in having any

video up, right? So let's go back to lighting for a second. Back when I worked

at our local cablevision studio, back then we had MSA cable 3 - shout-out to

the crew back then - and we had a studio where I was the first

paid master control operator of that studio so learned tons about video production,

lighting, and audio editing, directing - the whole nine yards. In a

studio setting there's typically three kinds of lighting that gets set up and

I'm going to describe to you what that lighting is and then I'll go into how

you can set up your own system without having to invest in a ton

of lighting. The first one is a backlight a backlight would be a spotlight

that would shine on the back of my head, behind my head, so it would be

taking care of all the shadows that you're currently seeing behind me. As you

can see right now, I don't have the best lighting so you can see there are

shadows happening behind me. Now if I had a backlight that wouldn't be happening.

A backlight is one thing we use in a studio. The other thing you use

in a studio is a fill light. A fill light has a broader spectrum - it creates more

of a wider range, a softer diffused light. Usually you see a fill light off to

the side and it fills the whole space. I have a light beside me right now

that's acting as my fill light. Then the final light you would

see in a studio setting is a keylight. A keylight is more like a spotlight.

It's a little bit more up front, in front of you and it's shining directly on the

subject. With those three lighting's in mind, and of course in a bigger studio

setting there's lots more lights than that but this is just keeping it basic

for you. For us to try and emulate that - right now I'm in my

office and what I'm taking advantage of is lighting coming from my

window. It happens to be a cloudy, darker day today so that's why the

overall ambiance isn't ideal but take advantage of the window lighting

wherever you can. Get yourself in front of the window lighting and use

that as your fill light. One side note is when I'm on location,

obviously you're not going to be hauling all of your lights with you so

find a window and stand in front that window so the camera is

looking at you but you're looking at the window and that suffices often as

enough lighting you would need. That can be working as your fill light. The

backlight - there's not much you can do about a backlight unless you happen to have an

overhead light that's shining above you but you can use more fill

lights or try to get a key light and use that as more of a spotlight but I

have a light sitting right here you can see it shining on my

Penguin's here. There's a little bit of light there. I've got a light there and

I've got a light up here too and these are just lamps and so those are lights

that I've created to bring the lighting up a bit. As I said

it's not ideal - it could be better and probably my next investment will be

to buy proper lighting - fill lighting especially so I can get my lighting

up a little bit better. Give lighting a try - lighting is super important. The

more lighting it is the better. Even though it feels like the

the room is already bright for you that doesn't mean that's going to translate

well into the camera. So make it as bright as you can without overdoing it.

Just another side note - if you are outside, try to avoid doing a

video in the in the sunshine because the sunshine will actually cause too bright

of a light on your face and it will cause way too many shadows behind you

too. So bright sunshine is actually not ideal unless you're looking at the

window where the sunshine is outside and is bringing in lots of beautiful light

in through the window. That's fine but standing outside in the sunshine is not

great. You actually want to be looking at more of a cloudy day if you're

going to be doing your videos outside. Let's move onto audio. As you can see I'm

wearing a lapel audio microphone right now. It's hooked to my sweater hooked up

into my iPhone and I'm using that for my audio. This is a lavaliere mic - quite

low cost - not a big deal to purchase and I find

these kind of microphones are much better than just using your phone

microphone but that is another option for you - use the microphone

that's in your phone like an iPhone or Android. The

time that would be okay with using your microphone that's in your phone is

if you are doing a selfie or doing a fairly close-up shot so the

microphone is close to your mouth. Right now my camera is too far away.

I would sound very echoey. It wouldn't sound very good. The other thing you

can use is a headset. For quite a while there, before I got the lavaliere mic, I

would sit in front of my webcam at my desk and I had a headset that had a

microphone attached to it and it wrapped around the back of my neck. That

actually worked really well. The microphone was well hidden with my long

hair and that sufficed beautifully for audio but of course that wasn't very

mobile - I couldn't use that with my smart phone - but it was a great option

to use for when I do my videos in front of my computer, using my computer my

webcam. Then there's one more microphone you can use and

that's the good old fashioned handheld microphone you see people using those in

interview situations where they're literally standing there holding a

microphone. That's probably a little bit too over the top for the kinds of videos

that we're talking about but if you happen to have one laying around that's

perfectly acceptable as long as it can plug into whatever recording device

you're using. There you have it - your lighting and your audio - the final steps

to having a great audio and lighting quality production video for your

business. In a past tip I did talk about the framing so be sure to reference that

video too to understand where to stand zooming in and out panning left and

right all that fun stuff and get the proper framing and so at the end of

the day you want to avoid any kind of distraction or anything that will make

people feel like, "Oh what was that?" We want a hundred percent focus on what

we're talking about in our talking head videos. I'm talking about a

talking head video here not if you're going to be out doing a reporting

at a live event or anything like that. So that's it for today's
