Andrés is going to love this story.
I had a boyfriend about four years ago.
And we came to the Highgate Cemetery on a date.
And it was actually a really nice date.
Now I'm bringing you here.
Why are you sharing that information?
It's where I bring all my guys.
It's what you do with all your boyfriends.
[Intro music]
Good afternoon. It is, like, the hottest day of the year.
So far.
I'm boiling, it's like 30 degrees.
And right now we're heading to...?
The cemetery - I can't remember what it's called.
Highgate.
Highgate Cemetery.
(Music)
So we're in the general vicinity of the cemetery.
It's here behind me.
Our bus driving missed our stop which was a little annoying because now we have to walk
all the way back down the hill.
I think you're really going to like this one.
I think this is really your kind of thing.
Cemeteries.
Cemeteries are my kind of thing?
No, I just mean there's a lot of history, and it's really beautiful; there's a lot to
see.
It's very peaceful.
Obviously because it's a cemetery.
It looks very old.
(Music) We just saw the most adorable thing ever.
These fire men with their fire truck had their hose out and they were spraying all the kids.
I wish I was there.
We have our tickets.
And we're going to do a guided tour.
You don't see very excited but I think you're actually going to really like it.
It's a depressing thing to do on a gorgeous day like this.
I think you're going to really like it though.
It's going to be nice.
No I know I'm going to like it but you could've picked a better day.
Before we kick off, let me just give you some idea of the history of the place.
This cemetery was founded in 1839 by the London Cemetery Company.
(Music)
This is the Egyptian Avenue, for fairly obvious reasons.
What do you think so far?
I never thought that a cemetery could be so interesting.
It's very interesting, I'm having a great time.
(Music)
We just finished the guided tour.
It was really good.
Now we're in the East Cemetery...or is this the West Cemetery?
The East Cemetery.
We're in the East Cemetery on a mission to find Karl Marx's grave and it's so beautiful.
It's so peaceful here.
We've made it to Hampstead Heath.
Have you been to Hampstead Heath before?
Yeah you definitely have been.
We've been here together, what am I talking about?
We've always seen these pools and never actually used them.
I'm a little nervous to be honest.
So you might be the guinea pig.
You might be the one to go in.
I'll just push you in.
It's okay.
I have to guard the fort.
What fort?
Our fort of stuff.
So I was just asking Andrés what his first memory of a swear word was.
And he said he used to think "shut up" was a swear word.
I don't have a memory of the first experience I have with a swear word.
That's like...do you have a memory of the first time you took a step?
I used to get a bus in Venezuela and the high schoolers used the f-word and I thought this
was a newly invented word that they had created because I'd never heard this word before.
And I remember telling my mom this like, "oh, there's this new word..." and she was like,
"that's not a new word and do not use that word."
That's a better story.
(Music) We just got here.
And it looks like we're not allowed to swim.
So...dodged a bit of a bullet.
It doesn't look very clean.
But this is Hampstead Heath.
It's a very popular park here in London.
I guess we'll hang out here for a little bit and then we're going to head back home.
(Music) We are now on our way home.
