This is the Dell Inspiron 27 7000.

It's an all-in-one with a difference.

Usually when you buy an all-in-one, you're pretty much stuck with the hardware it came

with, but not in this computer.

Undo a couple of screws on the back and you can change the CPU, swap out an SSD or hard

disk and you can change the memory.

So if you start off with the base model, a $1000 machine running on a 4-core AMD Ryzen

5 1400 processor and it doesn't quite cut it, you can swap it out for a faster processor

either now or in the future, just like you could in a traditional desktop.

It supports dual drives, so you could start off with a hard disk and add an solid state

disk as prices come down.

And if things are quite as smooth, slot in some more memory.

But there are some components you can't swap out.

You'll have to decide between a full HD or 4K screen when you buy the computer and

the graphics card isn't upgradable.

Even so, with processor, memory and storage options, you could end up keeping the machine

a few more years that you otherwise would, and that could save you money.

There are HDMI in and out ports, a bunch of USB connectors but only one USB-C, as SD card

slot and connections for Ethernet a headset jack.

And the only peculiarity, the webcam is placed under the display to keep the upper bezel

thin.

Why the ocean is blue - Duration: 2:33.

Welcome to the abyss.

I'm Jaclyn and today we're answering the question why the ocean is blue.

Let's dive in.

[Music]

The ocean is blue due to the way light interacts with the water.

As light travels from the sun, through the water it either gets absorbed by particles

or is scattered.

As the light travels it gets attenuated, which is basically just a fancy word for as you

go deeper into the water more and more light is lost to absorption.

The reason that absorption affects the colour of the water is because different wavelengths

of light are absorbed at different rates.

So red light which is longer and slower wavelengths is more likely to hit a particle and therefore

is attenuated faster than blue and green light.

Therefore blue and green light travels deeper into the water, giving the water its blue

colour.

This process of light being absorbed as it travels through the water also explains why

tropical waters are a very different colour blue than more temperate waters.

This is because tropical waters are very low productivity whereas temperate waters have

very high productivity.

This means there is a lot of dissolved organic matter in the water, as well as plankton.

These two things give the light a lot more particles to hit and be absorbed by.

This means that temperate waters the light gets absorbed and attenuated a lot more quickly

than in tropical waters.

Therefore tropical waters are a lot bluer, because there is more light.

Tropical waters are also a lot shallower and therefore the light travels all the way to

the bottom and reflects the really white coloured sand.

So therefore the light travelling through the water not only explains why the ocean

is blue, but why different parts of the ocean appear to be different colours of blue.

If you have any other questions about the ocean leave them in the comments down below.
