Learn English - Weekly Tip 16 for Chinese Speakers - 'work in' or 'work at'? (with subtitles) - Duration: 2:27.

Hello once again everyone, and welcome

back to 'On English Tip in One Minute for

Chinese speakers (and its many languages

varieties)' In these videos, I show you

each week, like clockwork -- in detail -- one

common English mistake made by Chinese

speakers, and this is video number 16.

So, yeah, I still think it's very cool,

smart and practical for you to improve

your English. Nice work with that. If

you've heard that before then you know

how this works.

I show you a slide, and on the slide

there are two sentences: One is the

correct way a native English speaker

would say it,

the other is the wrong way that many

Chinese speakers say it..and your job is to

decide which one is correct. Do that

now: Read the sentences,

listen to me read the sentences, pause

the video, think about your answer and I

will discuss the answer in the slide

that follows this slide.

OK, so hopefully you got it right, and you

don't need to study this anymore. But if

you got it wrong, or you just happen to

take a wild guess and get it right, then

hopefully you know from the tip why you

got it wrong.

What you have to do now is you have

to start studying, of course, to get past

this mistake. To start you off on that

path -- and it's a very simple beginning --

I've given you three sentences to study

from. Memorize the whole sentences -- it's

very important to memorize the whole

sentences, and not just words or parts --

drill them into your brain and put into

practice what you've learned through

speaking or writing or both.

Why not go outside of these videos

and learn from other sources as well.

For the Beauty of the Earth - Duration: 2:36.

For the beauty of the earth

For the glory of the skies,

For the love which from our birth

Over and around us lies:

Christ our God, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the wonder of each hour

Of the day and of the night

Hill and vale and tree and flow'r

Sun and moon and stars of light

Christ our God to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of human love,

Brother, sister, parent, child

Friends on earth and friends above

For all gentle thoughts and mild

Christ our God to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

For thy church that ever more

Lifteth holy hands above

Off'ring up on every shore

Her pure sacrifice of love

Christ our God to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of ear and eye

For the heart and minds delight

For the mystic harmony

Linking sense to sound and sight

Christ our God to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

State of the City: Austin is doing well, but there's room for improvement - Duration: 2:05.

CARGILE HAS THE NIGHT OFF.

MAYOR STEVE ADLER SAYS THE

CITY OF AUSTIN IS DOING WELL

IN HIS ANNUAL "STATE OF THE

CITY" ADDRESS... BUT IT COULD

BE DOING BETTER.KXAN'S LAUREN

LANMON BREAKS DOWN HIS PLANS

FOR 2017 -- AND HOW'S GOING TO

MAKE THEM HAPPEN.

TRANSPORTATION, HOUSING AND

JOBS - ALL BIG TALKING POINTS

FOR MAYOR STEVE ADLER. "WE

CANNOT SIT BY WHILE AUSTINITES

ARE PRICED OUT OF AUSTIN."

FIRST UP, HOUSING THE MAYOR

SAYS THERE'S FAR TOO LITTLE

FOR THE GROWING POPULATION.

"BY NOT CREATING ENOUGH

HOUSING IN AUSTIN, WE'RE

PUSHING PEOPLE OUT OF TOWN TO

CHEAPER HOUSING IN SURROUNDING

COMMUNITIES, ADDING TO THEIR

COMMUTE, OUR CONGESTION AND

EVERYONE'S EXPENSES." ADLER

CLAIMS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, THE

CITY MUST BUILD AT LEAST

135,000 NEW HOMES AND

APARTMENTS OVER THE NEXT TEN

YEARS. HE SAYS THE CITY LOOKS

TO START THAT CHANGE IF

COUNCIL ADOPTS A NEW STRATEGIC

HOUSING PLAN. "THIS YEAR, WE

WILL REWRITE OUR LAND

DEVELOPMENT CODE."

TRANSPORTATION AND CONGESTION

SOMETHING MOST OF THOSE IN

AUSTIN DEAL WITH ON A DAILY

BASIS. IN A MEETING JUST

BEFORE HIS STATE OF THE CITY

ADDRESS ADLER SAID TALKS ABOUT

A RAIL SYSTEM OR OTHER FORMS

OF TRANSPORTATION WILL

CONTINUE THIS YEAR. "WE HAVE

TO BE ABLE TO MOVE MORE

PEOPLE, BETTER AND SMARTER IN

WAYS OTHER THAN A SINGLE

OCCUPANCY VEHICLE."AND IF

ADLER HAD IT HIS WAY, THOSE

USING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN

THE FUTURE WILL BE HEADING TO

THEIR JOBS. "OUR NEIGHBORS,

FELLOW AUSTINITES, NEED MIDDLE-

INCOME JOBS."ALONG WITH THE

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED

TO QUALIFY FOR THOSE JOBS.

THAT'S WHY ADLER SAYS HE WANTS

TO TARGET ECONOMIC INCENTIVES

RIGHT AT THOSE JOBS. "WE

SHOULD CO-INVEST WITH OR OFFER

INCENTIVES TO COMPANIES TO

CREATE JOBS IN AUSTIN."NEW

JOBS, MORE HOUSING AND BETTER

IDEAS - THAT'S HOW ADLER SAYS

2017 WILL BE STRONGER THAN ANY

YEAR BEFORE. LAUREN LANMON -

KXAN NEWS. MAYOR ADLER ALSO

TALKED ABOUT AUSTIN'S MUSIC

TALKED ABOUT AUSTIN'S MUSIC

SCENE.HE SAYS SINCE AUSTIN IS

CONSIDERED A "TECH CENTER" THE

CITY HAS AN OPPORTUNITY TO

DEVELOP NEW WAYS FOR THE MUSIC
