Wassup and weclome to Tama Gotcha!
This time with Tri.
You are 28, Vietnamese and we are here at a Summer Camp.
A Summer Camp for Vietnamese youth here in Switzerland.
He is very talented in languages.
Check his Youtube-Channel.
How many languages do you speak?
Nine languages.
German, Vietnamese, English, Italian, Spanish,
Chinese, well Mandarin, Japanese, learning Korean.
I already felt cool with four languages.
Last year you have been to Vietnam for the first time.
Exactly. Only because my friends asked, Vietnam is beautiful isn't it?
I had to answer with, you tell me, because I have never been there before.
It's a bit embarrassing. Isn't it?
Sri Lanka is quite popular these days.
When people ask me where they should go,
I have to admit that the last time I've visited was when I was 13.
I have no clue.
Why is there a Vietnamese Summer Camp?
The idea is that the Teens get a chance to get to know each other.
It is not common to have contact.
Why do you like to be at the Summer Camp?
You can meet new people.
Especially because there are not many Vietnamese people in Switzerland.
So this is a good opportunity.
Next to me is… Valerie from Langenthal… I am from Langehtal too!
What would you say is typically Vietnamese about you?
My looks.
The food culture.
I eat everything with chopsticks.
It is very Asian that everyone is watching Anime.
Anime – of course!
Why do you participate in the Summer Camp?
I liked it when I met so many Vietnamese people for the first time.
It was very new to me.
I have many friends since then and keep in touch with them.
I do music with many of them.
I talk German with my brother since I was a child.
How do you speak with each other here at the camp?
German. But if we are joking around we speak mostly Vietnamese.
This is what my father used to say, when I was hanging out with my friends.
Speak Tamil, your mother tongue, otherwise you will lose it.
Today, retrospectively, I am thankful,
that we have learned the language and keep it active.
Is it a piece of identity to you?
Definitely. I realize, that there are emotions.
Not only to communicate, but also to learn another culture.
It is more than just to communicate.
At the camp we have common events.
A quiz for example.
The one million dollar question.
We make various statements regarding Vietnam.
The participants have to say whether it's true or false.
And now you can play along!
Number the answers with 1,2,3,4,5 and write the answers
whether it's ture or false in the comment section.
I will give the solutions at a later point of time in my Vlog.
Let's start with question number 1.
The cherry blossom is Vietnam's national flower.
True or false? That's the first question.
Question number two!
Thanh is the most common last name in Vietnam. By far.
True or false? Question number two.
Number three!
In Vietnam there is a law that say, that every
new born child should get a bag of rice.
True or false? Give me the answer in question number three.
Number four!
We all know him: Bruce Lee.
He has Vietnamese roots.
Is this true or false? The answer number four.
Number five!
Vietnamese people can't pronounce the letter "R".
Good Morning Mister Cartwright!
That should have been a "R".
Can they pronounce it? Yes or no?
Type it in number five.
If you liked the video then give us a like baby.
How do you say that in Vietnamese?
He can speak nine languages, but doesn't know how to say like.
Okay, again. Alright from the beginning.
Give us a like and this is how you say it in Vietnamese.
