Atiku commends APC governors for backing restructuring

- Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, commends the stance of the APC governors forum for calling for restructuring and true federalism of Nigeria.

- Atiku says the demand for restructuring by leaders from diverse regions of the country was a sign of patriotism.

- The former vice president calls for the need to allow federating units make known their grievances with a view to finding workable solutions that protects the rights and interests of all.

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has said the agitation for the succession of Nigeria would not have arisen if there were sincere efforts to address the problems that prompted the agitation.

The chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) said this in a statement on Tuesday, June 27, when he commanded the stance of the APC governors forum which called for restructuring and true federalism of Nigeria.

The former vice president in a message through his media office said the demand for restructuring by leaders from diverse regions of the country was a sign of patriotism, Premium Times reports.

Atiku said he was not alone in the call for restructuring, noting that the demand by other Nigerian leaders from diverse regions of the country had confirmed that.

He noted that the restructuring debate transcends the ambition of any single politician in Nigeria. The APC chieftain warned that failure to address the agitations could make a bad situation more complicated.

According to him, with so much hate, distrust, suspicions and fears in the country, political leaders should not be afraid to confront the challenge.

Atiku said there was need to allow federating units make known their grievances with a view to finding workable solutions that protects the rights and interests of all.

He said that the country could not afford to allow bottled up frustrations of the people to escalate into violence, noting that such threatens not only innocent lives, but also harms the country's economic assets.

Meanwhile, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress chieftain, (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has said that the those who are calling for secession and break-up do not mean well.

The former governor of Lagos said: "Voices calling for violence must be roundly condemned for it is wrong to incite brother to go against brother and neighbour to combat neighbour.

Tinubu said in his Eid-el-Fitri message to Nigerians at the weekend that the only path to toe in achieving the best for all Nigerians is dialogue, Vanguard reports.

The ex-lawmakers opinion was aired in a statement issued and signed by his media adviser, Tunde Rahman, on Saturday, June 25.

The Basics Q&A: 3 Smart Tips for Young Investors - Duration: 2:51.

MR LIERSCH: Stacy, in all our research with young people in their twenties and thirties they

express or tend to express this idea of conservatism when it comes to investing.

Do you have any thoughts on how these young people can overcome this notion of conservatism,

and really invest and take advantage of things, like

compounding, which we know can really be valuable when it comes to financial outcomes.

MS ALLRED: I think that we really need to do something to offset this kind of Millennial

approach of "YOLO," you only live once, with investing in their future, to balance enjoying

some of their money now, while saving the right amount for retirement and some of these

other goals

that are short, medium and

long-term goals

which might be paying off your car, paying

off college debt, saving for a house.

So I do think it's important to put more intentionality behind what are your goals; in particular,

those early savings years where the power of compounding are really important.

MR LIERSCH: That's great. So it helps them articulate tradeoffs by getting concrete about budgeting

What would be your priorities, in a sense, for these twenties and thirties something's?

MS ALLRED: This is really simple, but this is a case where simple is smart.

And the idea here is "pay yourself" first.

So having that mindset.

And as you get your first paycheck, sign up immediately for the 401K, determine the amount that you

would like to save, and really build that habit early on of paying yourself first.

MR LIERSCH: So things like, investing in a retirement plan, right.

Investing in an IRA.

MS ALLRED: The other thing with investing with Millennials is really to get that experiential

learning around investing.

Doing the research and finding companies you're excited about.

You might, even as you make an investment and buy some stock, buy one in a location

that you can go and attend their annual shareholder's meeting.

Start to get that first hand learning to step into the world of investing and learn that

terminology and start to experience it.

Best practices for promoting your Wix blog - Duration: 3:49.

Hey guys!

You've got a blog up and running.

You're posting regularly and have some great content.

Awesome.

Your next task?

To attract readers.

It's time to spread the word.

With millions of blogs on the internet, it's not enough just to publish good content in

order to attract followers.

In this video, we'll share seven basic tactics you can employ to increase traffic and gain

visibility.

Strategize with social media.

Do a bit of research in order to find out which social media platforms are most likely

to reach your target audience.

Ask yourself which channels people interested in your content or business are most likely

to use.

After you identify a few, you can start posting content to those platforms.

Grow a following, and provide value with your posts.

Share posts through email.

Grow your subscriber list and send regular messages, linking back to your blog posts.

Always keep it in the back of your mind to offer value to your contacts.

Make them want to read your posts.

Build relationships: Relationships with other bloggers are one of the best ways to promote

your blog organically.

But how do you do that?

Let's take a look at a few ways you can build your own community of bloggers.

Comment on other blogs.

The best places to comment are on blogs in your industry or niche.

Write an well-thought out response to the post, and Include a link to your own blog.

Strike a delicate balance here.

You want to grow your community, but you can't be too salesy.

It's not good practice to post a promotional comment on someone else's blog.

Remember to offer value.

Guest post on other blogs.

Ask other bloggers in your industry if you can guest post on their blog in exchange for

a link back to your blog.

People are usually willing to have input from other bloggers because it enriches their content

as well.

Then you can return the favor by inviting them to post on your blog.

Add links to other blogs with relevant content in your posts.

What blogger wouldn't want you to share their content?

You will boost your exposure when other bloggers see these incoming links from you.

Follow up with an email gently asking them to share your post.

When you share on social media, be sure to tag the bloggers whose content you share!

Take action by joining online forums related to your topic.

Any forum or Facebook group in your industry or niche is a great place to get involved.

Once you build trust by contributing to the discussion, you can start to include links

to your content.

Do your keyword research.

Then you can add relevant keywords in your posts in order to get found in organic search.

Add visuals.

Photos and video always liven up your content and raise the chances of it being shared.

They also expand your reach to other channels such as Youtube.

Make sure to include alt tag descriptions for any images you use, using your keywords,

so they will be recognized by search engines.

Post blogs frequently.

When you have your audience, keep their attention by giving them something new to read on a

regular basis.

It helps to post on a regular schedule, because then your readers will know when to look for

something new from you.

Tweak or repurpose older posts to prolong their shelf life.

You aren't always trying to reinvent the wheel with your posts.

Feel free to revisit an older topic that might have new relevance by updating it with current

references or a different angle that adds to the topic.

Okay, now that you know how to get the word out about your blog, it's time to get started.

Good luck!

Therapy Group of Tucson: Importance of tummy time for your baby - Duration: 6:57.

>>> ALL RIGHT, PARENTS, WE

KNOW THAT TUMMY TIME IS A

CRITICAL MILESTONE IN YOUR

BABY'S MOTOR DEVELOPMENT,

BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT LACK

OF APPROPRIATE TUMMY TIME

CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS DELAYS

IN SEVERAL AREAS, LIKE

POSTURE, VISION, AND HEAD

CONTROL?

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST DONNA

ABLER AND KYLE MEADES FROM

THERAPY GROUP OF TUCSON ARE

HERE TO TELL US ABOUT THIS.

THIS IS A LITTLE VEERED FROM

WHAT WE NORMALLY COV WHEN

YOU VISIT US.

>> THIS IS AN OCCUPATIONAL

THERAPIST, DONNA ABLER, SHE

HAS 32 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE,

SHE IS REALLY GOOD WITH

THOSE BABIES, AND SHE WANTS

TO TALK ABOUT IT.

>> I THINK IT'S GREAT THAT

WE ALWAYS TACKLE A DIFFERENT

SUBJECT.

TUMMY TIME IS SOMETHING WE

THROW AROUND.

WHAT IS TUMMY TIME?

>> VERY SIMPLY, IT'S SIMPLY

PUTTING BABIES ON THEIR

STOMACH TO PLAY, AND THAT

SEEMS OBVIOUS, YET THERE ARE

SO MANY REASONS WHY IT'S NOT

SO AUTOMATIC FOR PARENTS.

WE'RE SAVING MORE AND MORE

PREMATURE BABIES THAT ARE

VERY MEDICALLY FRAGILE, SO

PARENTS CAN BE CONCERNED, IS

IT OKAY TO DO THAT, WE HAVE

MARKETING OF LOTS AND LOTS

OF EQUIPMEN ON THE

MARKETS -- HERE IS CARTER

DEMONSTRATING -- AND WE HAD

INCIDENTS OF SIDS, AND

INSTITUTED THE "BACK TO

SLEEP" CAMPAIGN, BUT THAT

MAKES PARENTS WORRY ABOUT

PUTTING THE BABY ON THEIR

TUMMY.

>> WHEN DO WE IMPLEMENT

TUMMY TIME?

>> AS SOON AS THE STUMP OF

THE UMBILICAL FALLS OFF THE

BABY'S BELLY BUTTON, ABOUT

TWO WEEKS AFTER BIRT

EARLY, EARLY.

IT'S EASY FOR BABIES TO GROW

INTO IT, UNLESS WAITING

UNTIL LATER.

>> I MENTIONED A COUPLE OF

THE THINGS THAT CAN HAPPEN

IF WE HAVE LACK OF THAT

TUMMY TIME, BUT WHAT IS THAT

IMPORTANCE?

>> TUMMY TIME IS SO CRITICAL

FOR SEVERAL DIFFERENT

THINGS.

IT GETS BABY O THEIR BACK

SO THEY GET THEM OFF THE

BACK OF THEIR HEAD, IT GETS

THEM OUT OF EQUIPMENT.

IT HELPS SHAPE OUT THEIR

HEAD.

THAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT.

IT GETS THEM ON THEIR TUMMY.

THEY HAVE TO LIFT THEIR HEAD

UP AND BUILD THOSE NECK

MUSCLES AND GAIN HEAD

CONTROL.

THEY'RE PUSHING THROUGH

THEIR SHOULDERS AND ARMS AND

GETTING STRENGTH THROUGH

THEIR ARMS AND UPPER BODY,

AND THAT HELPS THEM TO ROLL.

THEY PUSH THROUGH THEIR ARMS

AND FIGURE OUT HOW TO ROLL

OVER.

THEY GET THE STRENGTH THEY

NEED TO LEARN HOW TO CRAWL,

AND FROM THERE THEY LEARN TO

USE THE ARMS TO PULL TO

STANDING.

TUMMY TIME REALLY SETS UP

THEIR WHOLE DEVELOPMENTAL

SEQUENCE.

IT HELPS THEM DEVELOP THEIR

MUSCLES IN THEIR BACK, AND

HELPS THEM HAVE THAT UPRIGHT

POSTURE WHEN THEY'RE SITTING

AT SIX MONTHS OLD.

ALSO VISION.

PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THIS, BUT

BEING ON YOUR TUMMY IS WHERE

BABIES DO A LOT OF THEIR

VISUAL DEVELOPMENT.

THEY'RE LOOKING FROM NEAR TO

FAR AND DEVELOPING THATIVIST

IN THEIR GAZE AND THE

STRENGTH IN THEIR EYE

MUSCLES TO WORK TOGETHER SO

WHEN THEY GET TO SCHOOL AGE,

THEY CAN TRACK WORDS FROM

LEFT TO RIGHT TO READ AND

LOOK FROM DESK TOP TO CHALK

BOARD TO LEARN ACADEMICALLY.

>> WHAT CAN PARENTS DO TO

DEVELOP THAT?

>> HAVE THE LITTLE BABY UP

AT YOUR SHOULDER AND

RECLINED A LITTLE BIT AND

LET THEM PLAY AROUND WITH

LIFTING THAT HEAD UP AND

GAINING CONTROL.

INTRODUCE TUMMY WHEN THEY'RE

HAPPY AND CONTENT, RIGHT

AFTER A NAP OR A DIAPER

CHANGE.

START SLOW, JUST TWO TO

THREE MINUTES AT A TIME, A

FEW TIMES A DAY, AND BY ONE

TO TWO MONTHS OLD, YOU WANT

THEM ON THEIR TUMMY ONE TO

TWO HOURS A DAY, OUT OF THAT

EQUIPMENT, GET DOWN ON THE

FLOOR WITH THEM, ENCOURAGE

THEM, GIVE THEM LOVE, LET

THEM BUILD TRUST THAT TUMMY

IS A GOOD PLACE FOR THEM.

THEY LOVE BRIGHT COLORED

VOICES, THEY LOVE MIRRORS,

THEY LOVE PARENTS' VOICES.

GET DOWN THERE AND ENGAGE

WITH THEM.

MAKE SURE THEY'RE ON A SAFE

SURFACE, THAT THEY CAN'T

ROLL OFF OF SOMETHING.

>> IF A PARENT HAS CONCERN

ABOUT WHERE THEY'RE AT

DEVELOPMENTAL, WHAT DO WE DO

WITH THOSE CONCERNS?

>> TALK TO YOUR BABY'S

PEDIATRICIAN OR PRIMARY CARE

PROVIDER, SHARE CONCERNS,

ASK QUESTIONS OF YOUR

DOCTOR, EDUCATE YOURSELF AS

PARENTS ABOUT WHAT IS

TYPICAL DEVELOPMENT, WHEN

SHOULD SOME OF THESE

MILESTONES COME IN.

YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR BABY

REALLY ENJOYING TUMMY TIME

BY THREE TO FOUR MONTHS AND

DOING SOME NICE ROLLING.

IF YOU'RE NOT SEEING THAT,

GET IN CONVERSATION WITH

YOUR PEDIATRICIAN, ASK THEM

FOR A REFERRAL TO A

PEDIATRIC THERAPIST TO

REALLY DO SOME FOLLOW-UP

ASSESSMENT ON THAT, AND TAKE

A LOOK, AND, YOU KNOW,

EITHER GIVE THAT PARENT AND

FAMILY SOME ASKED AND SOME

EXERCISES TO HELP THAT BABY,

OR EASE THEIR CONCERNS THAT

EVERYTHING'S ON TRACK, IT'S

OKAY.

>> I LOVE THAT WE'RE

TACKLING THIS.

I'M SURE THERE IS A PARENT

OUT THERE THAT'S FEELING

THOSE SAME THINGS WE WERE

JUST TALKING ABOUT.

KYLE, EVERY TIME YOU COME, I

ALWAYS ASK THE QUESTION THAT

EVERYONE IS EVENTUALLY GOING

TO GET TO: DOES INSURANCE

MAYBE COVER IF WE WANT TO

HAVE -- TO SEE AN

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST FOR

ANY OF THE THINGS WE TALKED

ABOUT?

>> IT IS COVERED, AND IF

IT'S NOT, WE ARE STARTING TO

DO SOME GROUPS NOW FOR

INFANTS AND BABIES AND TUMMY

TIME.

WE LIKE TO KEEP THINGS VERY

AFFORDABLE AT OUR CLINICS SO

FAMILIES CAN GET WHAT THEY

NEED.

BUT A MAJORITY OF THE TIME,

YES, IT'S COVERED, AND WE

HAVE A WONDERFUL STAFF THAT

WORKS ON INSURANCES AND

BILLING AND PRIOR

AUTHORIZATION, YEAH.

>> I THINK EVERY TIME YOU

COME, WE LEARN THAT THERE'S

MORE AND MORE THINGS THAT

YOU CAN HELP WITH THAT

PEOPLE DIDN'T THINK ABOUT.

>> AND REALLY, WITH OUR

SPEECH KIDS, ABOUT 30 TO 40

PERCENT OF OUR SPEECH KIDS

NEED SOME SORT OF

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

TREATMENT.

>> YEAH, IT GOES HAND IN

HAND.

AND PARENTS ARE SO GRATEFUL,

THEY'RE SO APPRECIATIVE.

THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY

DON'T KNOW AS NEW PARENTS.

>> THE BEST THING TO DO IS

CALL, GO ON THE WEBSITE.

I'M GOING TO GIVE THEM ALL

THE INFORMATION.

>> THANK YOU FOR HAVING US.

>> IF YOU NEED SPEECH OR

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Four year wait rewarded for Wellington America's Cup fans - Duration: 2:25.

Four year wait rewarded for Wellington America's Cup fans

Sport and Recreation Minister Jonathon Coleman was among the fans watching at the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club.

It was a victory four years in the making and nobody at the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club in Wellington would believe it until it actually happened.

A packed crowd turned out to the Wellington yacht club to see Team New Zealand beat United States Oracle team in the waters off Bermuda.

The mood was a marked difference from 2013, when a similar crowd turned up in the pre-dawn hours with New Zealand sitting 8-1 over Oracle and one race away from victory.

Emirates Team New Zealand helmed by Peter Burling celebrate after winning the Americas Cup.

Then, the mood was jubilant. This race was just a formality, all agreed, till the eventual realisation New Zealand had choked, then again, and again till we lost in our bid for the Auld Mug.

This time, early on Tuesday morning as most of Wellington slept, nobody was conceited - there was barely a red sock to be seen.

Even as helmsman Peter Burling took Team New Zealand into the third leg in a clear lead, the applause was merely polite. And as the lead extended - and occasionally retracted - no chickens were being counted at the yacht club.

Even down the final leg to victory, with a lead more than comfortable, the only emotion was tension. Could New Zealand choke? Even now?.

They, of course, didnt. And as New Zealand soared over the finish line, finally, at the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club, a celebration worthy of the long awaited win erupted.

Then it erupted again, when the commentator speculated of New Zealand, they are all licking their chops now. And again, when it was said nobody would be going to work in New Zealand today.

Then, slowly, the Oriental Bay club emptied out as people went to work.

Introduction to "Innovation for Scientists" - Duration: 6:38.

Look at the photo below.

It's me with a great team of experts, with the demonstrator of my first startup company.

We were working in biotechnologies, and the bioreactor you see here was the result of

my ideas for a better way to convert CO2, a major contributor to global warming, to

valuable biomass.

This was (it's still) a great idea, proven to be realistic, it gave impressive results,

and worked better than most of the current systems.

We were a great team, we got enough funding, we worked very hard... and we failed.

All the mistakes you can think of, we made them, and probably a couple of others.

Actually, at that time, I didn't know nothing about business (I hope I know a little bit more

now).

I was impressed like anyone with interviews of great innovators and businessmen and businesswomen.

But all interviews could be summarized in one single sentence: Question: "how did you

become so successful?

Can you give us your secret?" Answer: " You know Bill (or John, or Marie, or Helmut),

this was so simple that anybody could do it: I had that great idea, so we made it happen,

then investors came, and now I'm a billionaire!"

I know...

Frustrating, isn't it?

It's like asking a lottery winner how he or she did,

and he and she answered: "You know Bill...

I just bought a ticket...

You can do the same!"

All I knew at that time what that, to look like a serious businessman, I needed a "business

plan", which I had no idea what it was about.

But, (almost) every time I met with a business person, they were always asking me about my

"business plan"!

Did I have a "business plan"?

Could I show them my "business plan"?

So, I downloaded some templates, tried to fill them, and couldn't answer most of the

questions... at least when I understood them.

To make the long story short, I started my first start up company with three strong ideas:

(1) you need a business plan.

Without a business plan, you don't look serious. (2) if you explain well what you do, people will

give you money.

If they don't, it's because you didn't have enough time to fully explain, or more probably

because they are just stupid. (3) when you are a scientist (like me) or an engineer (I'm

one too), take care of what you know the best: the scientific side, and let the business

to people who know about it, for example, guys with a MBA, or anything similar!

and you know? Life taught me that these three strong ideas were totally wrong!

I'm fundamentally a researcher, that is, someone who always asks questions, analyzes a problem,

and tries to find answers, tries to understand.

But I have also an innovative mind, which means I have a new great wonderful idea almost

every day.

So, as a researcher, I tried to understand why we failed, what we did wrong.

And I started to dig in all the knowledge base you can access now.

Of course, this is something I did before, but that time was different because I knew

from personal experience, from my own failure, what was really important, what I did wrong,

which should be fixed.

As an innovator, a new great idea came rather soon after my first project, and when this

new start up project came to my mind, I was in better position to address the different

challenges, from analyzing the initial idea you have to build a project that can help you develop your innovation.

Is it a really good idea? if not, should I give it up or could I improve it

if it's not perfect?

I'm a researcher, an innovator, but also an educator.

It means I'm not fully happy if I can do things but cannot find a way to explain them.

Therefore, I've tried to gather and organize initially for students at my University, and

for yourself now, a method you can follow, with the knowledge to acquire to allow you

go from the initial point...shape and analyze your original idea,to the final step...reach

a pre-startup stage with the tools and well-prepared mindset to allow you to move on with the greatest

chances of success.

So, if you have one or a couple of great ideas to save the world, or help people, or even

get rich, and if you don't know how to proceed, even how to start,

I invite you to explore further this course!
