>>> DID YOU KNOW CHIROPRACTIC

CARE CAN TREAT A WHOLE BUNCH OF

PROBLEMS FROM TENNIS ELBOW TO

ASTHMA?

AND DID YOU KNOW THAT IT CAN

ALSO BE BENEFICIAL FOR BABIES?

DOCTOR DENNIS FROM ARIZONA LI

COVER PRACTICE CENTER IS HERE

THIS MORNING TO EDUCATE US ON

THE BENEFITS EVERYONE CAN GAIN

FROM REGULAR ADJUSTMENTS.

IT IS GREAT TO SEE YOU.

YOU ARE SPECIFICALLY TALKING

ABOUT BABIES.

I DID NO REALIZE YOU COULD

ADJUST A CHILD.

WHILE YOU'RE SO PASSIONATE

ABOUT THAT?

>> I HAVE EXPERIENCED IT WITH

MY FIRST SON.

HE WOULD NEVER SIT IN HIS CAR

STREET -- CAR SEAT WITHOUT

SCREAMING.

AND SOMEONE SAID, TAKE HIM TO A

CHIROPRACTOR AND WE DID AND

AFTER THE ADJUSTMENT WHICH WA

ANXIOUS.

HE FELL ASLEEP IN HIS CAR SEAT

AND WE ONLY LIVE TWO BLOCKS

AWAY AND HE SLEPT FOR FIVE HOURS

.

>> AND YOU ARE LIKE, THERE

COULD BE SOMETHING TO THIS.

LOOK AT THIS BABY WI THE BIG

SMILE.

DO YOU ADJUST THE BABY THE SAME

AS YOU WOULD AN ADULT?

>> YES, PRETTY MUCH.

THEY JUST THE SAME WAY JUST

MORE GENTLE.

>> LOOK AT THAT AND YOU ARE

SEEING INCREDIBLE RESULTS. I

CAN IMAGINE, FOR APPEARANC

IT IS A LITTLE BIT OF ANXIETY

WHEN YOU FIRST BRING YOUR CHILD

THAT YOU SEE A BIG CORRELATION

BETWEEN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM AND

THE ADJUSTMENT.

EXPLAIN HOW THEY WORK TOGETH.

>> EVERY NERVE IN YOUR BODY

PASSES THROUGH YOUR SPINE.

SO, TAKING CARE OF YOUR SPINE

IS TAKING CARE OF YOUR NERVOUS

SYSTEM AND YOUR BRAIN CONTROLS

EVERY FUNCTION OF YOUR BODY

THROUGH THE NERVES THROUGH THIS

COMMUNICATION SYSTEM SO ALL

THAT WE DO IS MAKE SURE THE

COMMUNICATION SYSTEM IS

FUNCTIONING PROPER.

>> NOT JUST FOR INFANTS BUT

ALSO ADULTS BECAUSE YOU SAY

CHIROPRACTIC CARE IS A DIRECT

RELATIONSHIP TO IMPROVE OVERALL

HEALTH.

>> WE CALL IT CRADLE TO THE

GRAVE CARE.

EVERY SINGLE SYSTEM IN YOUR

BODY FUNCTIONS BETTER WHEN YOUR

NERVOUS SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONIN.

>> HOW OFTEN SHOULD WE GET

ADJUSTED?

>> I GET ADJUSTED ONCE A WEEK

BUT I HAVE A VERY STRESSFUL JOB

AND I AM BENDING OVER A TABLE

ALL DAY AND I NEED TO TAKE CARE

OF MY SPINE.

I TELL MY PATIENTS TO GET THEIR

SPINES CHECKED AT LEAST ONCE A

MONTH.

>> FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER

GONE THROUGH A -- TO A COVER

PRINTER, WALK US THROUGH WHAT A

VISIT IS LIK.

>> WE WILL TAKE A DETAILED

HISTORY AND SOME X-RAYS AND WE

ALSO HAVE A COMPUTERIZED

ANALYSIS SYSTEM THAT IS GOING

TO FIND OUT HOW YOUR URINARY

SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING.

WE WILL LOOK AT ALL OF THOSE

THINGS AND FEEL OF YOUR SPINE

AND WE WILL SIT DOWN AND

DISCUSS IT AND TALK ABOUT WHAT

WE THINK WE WOULD DO AND GIVE

YOU AN ADJUSTMENT.

>> I AM SURE THAT PEOPLE DON'T

REALIZE THAT THE HEALTH OF

THEIR SPINE DICTATES THE HEALTH

OF THEIR BO.

>> WE TEACH PEOPLE THAT THE

SPINE PROBLEM IS A BRAIN

PROBLEM AND THAT YOUR BRAIN HAS

TO GET AND GIVE GOOD

INFORMATION AND IT IS A TWO-WAY

COMMUNICATION THING.

THAT IS WHAT WE HELP PEOPLE TO

DO.

>> DO YOU THINK FOLKS ARE

RELUCTANT BECAUSE THEY THINK IT

IS GOING TO BE PAINFUL?

>> I THINK MOST PEOPLE ARE

ANXIETY -- ARE ANXIOUS.

AFTER THEIR FIRST ADJUSTMENT,

THEY ARE ALWAYS SAYING, THAT IS

IT?

AND THAT IS .

>> AND DO YOU GET INSTANT

RELIEF IN A LOT OF CASES?

>> A LOT OF TIMES THEY DO IT

JUST DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH

INFORMATION HAVE YOU ADJUSTMENT

DOES NOT MAGICALLY MAKE

INFLAMMATION GO AWAY.

I ADJUST MY BABIES ON THE FIRST

DAY AND A LOT OF MY PATIENTS

BRING THEIR BABIES BY THE

Windows 10 Pro Outshines Chrome for your Business Needs - Duration: 1:55.

Let's talk about operating systems.

Why is Microsoft Windows 10 Pro superior to Google Chrome for

your business enterprise needs?

Microsoft has poured years of research and

development into making sure that when you power up a device,

any device, the experience is nothing short of superior.

What makes that experience so good?

Let's start with Innovation.

Case in point, Windows Ink.

Where you can unleash your creativity and

capture notes at the speed of thought.

Windows Ink looks and feels just like you're using an actual pen,

but with more advantages.

For example, you can create a sticky note, and

write a clients phone number on it.

Then when you click on the phone number, it makes the Skype call.

Or suppose you're scheduling, if you write a date,

then tap on it, Windows Ink creates a reminder through

Cortana, how cool is that?

If you can think it, you can ink it.

Now let's talk about security.

Still considering Chrome?

Think again.

Windows 10 Pro is the most secure Windows ever,

here's one reason why.

Microsoft Windows Hello, the security app

that offers password free sign in, giving you the fastest,

most secure way to unlock your Windows devices.

Windows 10 Pro also includes two factor authentication with

every device.

So hackers, forget them.

It doesn't end there either.

Edge is more secure than ever to.

Out classing Chrome's browser security.

Finally we're talking business, so we're talking value.

You want a greater number of devices at a lower cost?

No problem, devices with a full Windows experience are available

at affordable prices.

All running full Windows unlike Chrome,

which allows only a selected few devices to run all their apps.

Better value, security, and innovation.

There's simply no comparison.

Windows 10 Pro offers more to empower enterprise businesses to

do more.

Plan for Life After High School - Step 2: Explore Possibilities - Duration: 3:48.

Well, originally I wanted to go to school for Nursing, because it just seemed like the easy choice.

Like with nurses, they make decent money, and-

like you really just have a job right out of university right away.

I never really wanted to be a nurse, but I wanted what came with being a nurse.

Uh, well after my first year of Open Studies, I was, you know, looking at a few different things.

And I had a bunch of my professors- uh- and some of my colleagues say,

"Like you know what, you're like, a really good writer, and you're really good with people."

And I'm just like "oh, tha- those are like, you know, skills I never really thought I had."

But I kind of discovered them, and they said "you know, you really should consider journalism."

"Or consider something along the lines of communications."

And I feel like after looking at everything, you know, journalism was really the best fit for my skillset and what I enjoy doing.

So I started looking in Canada for costume production um-

schools, if that was even a thing.

I didn't even know that you could take a class for it, to be honest

when I first decided that's what I liked.

Um, so I kind of just started looking in Canada, and stuff like that.

I found one at Olds College in Alberta here, but it was just a diploma.

A lot of the ones in Canada are diploma degrees as opp-

or diplomas as opposed to any kind of a bachelor degree.

So I applied to Olds College, kind of, without even thinking about it —

I just jumped right into that and applied and I got on the wait list for it.

Because it was late — I didn't apply until June.

Uh, so I got in the wait list and then kind of decided to keep looking around.

Because I was on the wait list, I might as well keep looking.

I don't need a Criminal Justice degree to get into policing.

And maybe I wanna try Business, because that's what all of my friends are doing, and they talked it up like was some sweet thing.

So I thought to myself, "Maybe I'll hit Business up for a little bit."

And that's what I did, and- so I went into some Business classes, and, boy, was it a tough semester for me.

Like I- it was high school all over again.

I was just like- for the first part it was fun, because the first part of the semester where-

there's, like, no homework, you, like, can skip class.

Like you feel like you're not missing anything.

Until it really starts to, like, catch up with you, and then you actually have to start doing the work.

And that's when I was like, "Well, I don't want to do the work because this doesn't interest me-

"Like why would I want to do work that doesn't interest me?"

So I didn't try my hardest there- it was high school all over again.

So then, after that semester was over I was like, "I can't do that for another semester."

"I need to figure out something else to do, because that's not working for me."

I got involved with machining a few years after I graduated from high school.

At the time I was a budding musician.

But with the area I lived in, the only real way to make a decent living was off the trades.

So I wanted to fulfill, like, the creative aspect of my life and then also work the trades.

So I found machining was something that satisfied both.

The most important thing for me, personally, because what I wanna do and what my family and,

you know, other people want me to do, are pretty in sync with one another.

When I told my family that I was switching, you know, degrees and I'd be doing an extra year of school-

you know at first they were like, you know, "Why are you doing this?"

But, you know, after I kind of told them about it and we talked about it a little more, they were like,

"Okay, well, you know, you're gonna be happy, and, you know,

"at the the end of the day, you're still going to have, you know, a pretty decent job.

"Where you can, you know, build your career up and make some money out of the gate."

So what- what is my end goal? And my end goal is to work for the BBC.

Just because- with when I was growing up, that's what we watched — that's what I still watch.

It's just something that's always been a part of my life, and it's something that I'd like to make for other people to enjoy.

Um- so then I started thinking about the pathways for me to get there.

So- what would be the best way to eventually have- have a career with the BBC?

And after a whole lot of throwing it around in my head,

it turns out that probably going to school in England and making those contacts there would be the best way.

So that's how I started kind of looking into universities in England and finding the one that I wanted from there.

Okay, so- with me, um, my high school grades weren't as good as- I'd say- other people's were.

So a lot of the averages to get into Criminal Justice at Mount Royal-

the average to get in is actually really high, because it's such a small program.

So in order to get to there, I either need to really- I had to go back and upgrade,

which unfortunately didn't work out in my favour, 'cause it's still-

I had- I was up there with the competitive average, but there was still so many people applying that it just-

my grades just weren't exceptionally better than everyone else's.

So I couldn't go into that, so I made a backup plan to go to Bow Valley College.

Which I applied to and I actually go in, so if Mount Royal doesn't work out — which I applied to again this semester —

So if I won't get in again there, I can just have my backup plan at Bow Valley College.

And with Bow Valley College, it is a diploma, so it is only a two-year program.

So I won't finish with a degree, but I can transfer over to other schools that will allow me to finish the degree.

If you're just coming out of high school, trades are a good way to go,

because it gives you good mechanical, hands-on knowledge of every-day things.

If you choose to go with a welder- or a millwright- or a mechanic, you expand your own life abilities to help you further on down the road.

They're also cheap to get into — schooling for trades is fairly cheap.

Most of the time it's around $1,000 for just your first year of schooling.

And they're fast. I know for machining it was only eight weeks per intake.

And then you're right back to work right after, so it's cheap to get into, fast to do, and the payoff is pretty quick.

Plan for Life After High School - Step 4: Make it Happen - Duration: 3:39.

I think from a personal standpoint, I would say the best thing I've done was learn how to help myself.

Because, I dunno, I feel like with university it's so much more different than high school,

because with high school you do have a lot more support staff and resources.

And in university it's structured more so that you have to really take responsibility.

So I think the best thing I've done in university is just really learn to take responsibility for my own actions and, you know, seek out the help that I do need.

So because I am going for an Arts degree, they did want a portfolio.

And because it's kind of a creative thing, they wanted to just see, um, that I had any kind of creativity,

and that I was even interested or even, you know, could think about making a costume.

So, uh, both universities had really different requirements for their portfolio, but they laid them out very well in their emails.

They told me exactly what they wanted.

Um, so Arts University Bournemouth, which I eventually got accepted into, only needed 20 pieces of creativity.

Just to show that I kind of had a creative side and that I was interested.

Nottingham Trent University, which is my second choice, wanted 20 of those, as well, and a written excerpt

to show that kind of side of my creativity. I ended up getting rejected from Nottingham Trent because of my portfolio.

So it kind of just goes to show you that, like, even if you get rejected from one —

'cause I sent pretty much the same information to both schools and I got accepted to one and rejected from the other.

So like, I didn't really take it to heart that I got rejected from Nottingham Trent because

I got accepted to somewhere else with the same stuff, so again, that just depends on the university, I suppose.

The process of becoming a police officer is actually really intense.

So you have to go through this- it actually changed recently with the RCMP, where if you have a degree or diploma in Criminal Justice, you don't have to write the entrance exam.

Just because you've already had that education,

but if you don't have that and you want to still apply, you have to write this entrance exam.

And then once you get through that, you have to go through a ton of other interviews.

That- there's physical testing, psychological testing, the lie detector test.

All this stuff that kind of just narrows their search and, yeah.

Basically to hop into one of the trades, you just need to identify what trade suits you the most,

go to your website- I think it's tradesecrets.alberta.ca-

and look for the first-year course of the trade you want.

And look how many available seats there are, and it's basically just phone in and apply from right there.

As long as there's a seat available, and I think you need a first er- not a first year-

you need a high school diploma. And then from that point you're set to jet.

Plan for Life After High School - Step 1: Know Yourself - Duration: 3:50.

I enjoy telling stories, really.

I like telling stories, I like listening to other people's stories.

Just, really, the verbal communication.

Almost the primitive way of passing down history, almost.

Is just, you know, you just really talk to a lot of people.

And you tell the story that they normally wouldn't be able to tell, because they don't have the same skills as you do.

So, it's like, alright I can, you know, talk to people.

You know, the cliché is be the voice for the voiceless.

And it's like, you know, it's a cliché, but it accurately depicts what, you know, being a journalist is.

Um- I'm in Open Studies.

Because I had no idea what I wanted to do with my post-secondary education.

So I started taking Open Studies so that I could kind of, try out a whole bunch of different courses.

Like first-year courses and see what I liked and what I didn't like.

So I didn't waste a whole bunch of time on a degree I wasn't interested in.

Um, I want to study costume design and eventually make costumes for the BBC in England.

I found out why — that I wanted to do that — because I went to comic expos with my friends.

And randomly we decided to make costumes the first year that we went for the three of us.

And it's kind of become a bit of a tradition now to make costumes for all of us.

So for the past four years, we've been making costumes for ourselves and it's been more and more costumes every year, as well.

Um, and then I kind of realized that I have a lot of fun doing that, and it wasn't very stressful.

And it was something I looked forward to and I started to plan months in advance.

So I kind of sat down and talked to myself and thought why does this just have to be a hobby of mine?

Why can't it be something that I could continue on with and maybe get a career with.

The end goal for me would be to go into Criminal Justice and one day become a police officer.

So, I'm hoping that happens pretty quick here.

I figured out what I wanted to do, basically, when I was pretty young.

Like career wise, because my dad was a police officer, so I kind of just grew up with that.

And as I started to get older, I just kind of realized that that's more and more what I was thinking about getting into.

And for a little bit there I did change my mind and went in different routes completely.

But in the end, those didn't work out and it only reinforced my idea that I wanted to get into policing.

One thing that really sold me on the trade was getting to make things.

I didn't want to just take two pieces of metal and combine them together.

I didn't want to spend all day looking at a desk, or being on the road all day long.

Uh- what really sold me on the trades was —

well at least for machining, anyway — was being able to make something.

Show it to a customer and say, "Here you go, this is exactly what you need."

And just having that smile of, "Yeah, wow. I made that."

Like that's a really cool, empowering feeling.

And that comes from my- I wanted to be a musician initially.

So being able to make things for leisure and being able to make things for work, it's just great.
