Hi guys, Nature of bodybuilding today with you.
And I am going to tell you about one of my favorite athlete Mariusz Pudzianowski also
known as Dominator.
I would also call him a universal athlete as his versatile talent enabled him to be
5 time World's strongest men, Rugby player, a successful MMA fighter and a businessman.
But the most interesting thing is that if we look at most of participants of strongest
men competitions, their bodies are not so shredded, so to speak.
But this is not the case with Mariusz.
Despite being just about 186 cm 6 ft and 1 inch tall and with weight of over 140 kg or
300 pounds in his prime, he looked like a bodybuilder.
Mariusz has been in sport since his childhood.
For instance, when he was young, he was fond of karate, boxing and weightlifting.
Also, I think his father, a competing weightlifter, inspired him to do so.
His first competition was 1999 Poland's Strongest Man.
He was only 22 but managed to come the first.
Unfortunately, his promising career was suddenly disturbed by his arrest.
He said he wanted to stop a "local mafia boss" and as a result he got accused of assault
and stealing his golden chain.
He spent 19 months in prison but he didn't lose his physique and already in 2002 won
at the 2002 World's Strongest Man his first title.
Then he protected his title in 2003.
Then he was disqualified for a year but was back in 2005 and won again.
In 2006 he came the second.
However, he returned back his title in 2007 and broke Guinness World Records by winning
his 5th title in 2008.
By fulfilling his ambitions and after giving way to Zydrunas Savickas, he announced that
he was leaving the world of Strongest Man as he was not able to combine lifting weights
with his new career MMA fighting.
As I have already mentioned he was into different sports including martial arts.
Therefore, it was logically to resume that engagement.
He lost several pound and at some point his weight was less than 120 kg or 265 pounds.
He made his first debut as a MMA fighter in 2009.
His total MMA record is 12 wins, 6 losses and 1 no contest which is really incredible
for a guy changing so swiftly from one sport to another.
Judging by different videos his tactic is pretty simple.
He conducts a series of punches or kicks, then takes his rivals down and starts literally
using his fist as a hammer against their heads.
Apart from that Mariusz also is a keen amateur Rugby player.
Finally, if you go over all of his powerlifting lifts, he is a really strong guy.
For example, his one rep max on the squats is 380kg or 834 pounds; his bench press is
280 kg or 617 pounds and 415 kg or 915 pounds on the deadlift.
He is literally a universal athlete.
He is able to lift heavy weights, beat the competitor (if he lifts more) and then play
friendly Rugby with him.
I am just kidding.
Well, Referring to his words, he regards sport as ahobby.
He is not doing it for money, as the money is relatively low in Strongman and MMA.
For that reason, he owns a very successful company (a school for bodyguards) and various
real estates.
Those are his main sources of money.
Pudzianowski also owns a truck cargo company named Pudzianowski Transport.
At the same time he continues his career in MMA, sometimes appears in different commercials
and events related to bodybuilding.
Here you can see his current shape.
Really amazing for a guy weight 112.5 kg or 248 pounds in his early 40s, isn't it?
All things considered, he has had an incredibly successful career.
Thank you guys for watching.
