Waching daily Dec 30 2018

Hello my friend I'm Rev. Walker with Alpha Church.org Our Scripture today

is from John 1:1-114 Listen very carefully. In

the beginning was the Hord and the Word was with God and the Word was God

He was in the beginning with God All things came into being through Him and

without Him not one thing came into being what has come into being in Him

was Life and the Life was the Light of all people the Light shines in the

darkness and the darkness did not overcome it There was a man sent from

God whose name was John he came as a witness to testify to the Light so that

all might believe through Him he himself was not the light but he came to testify

to the Light the true Light which enlightens everyone was coming into the

world He was in the world and the world came into being through Him yet the

world did not know Him He came to what was His own and H own people did not

accept Him but to all who received Hm who believed in His name He gave power

to become children of God who were born not of blood or of the will of the flesh

or of the will of man but of God and the Word became flesh and lived among us and

we have seen His glory the glory as of the Father's only Son full of grace and

truth God bless the reading and hearing of the

Scripture today the coming of Jesus divided all of history Before was

darkness After light Prior to Jesus'' coming there was condemnation With his

coming He brought grace where formerly there was despair Jesus instilled hope

Barkley says that even the calendar itself declares that when Jesus came

time started all over again If we will allow it to be His year the year of our

Lord and Savior it'll be the first year of the rest of our life as a gift of

God's grace it's a year 2019 where Jesus is our King How should we look at life

this next new year ahead of us? Dr. Charles Elliott professor emeritus of

Harvard University walked next door to his house because he knew that they had

a new infant child he sat down in the living room and he said to a mother may

I hold the baby? and as he held that dear little infant tears came to his

eyes and he snuggled the infant so gratefully then he handed the child back

to his mother he said I've been looking at the end of life so long I just needed

a few moments to look at life's beginning let's let's look at life's

beginning together we need a new beginning and we have this opportunity

not only a physical new beginning but a new beginning as it can be in Jesus

Christ with Jesus Christ there is new life and our Scripture today it says in

Him was life and that life was the Light for all people we're intrigued about New

Life Jesus says New Life is found in and through Him Life that's abundant it's

not dependent on our circumstances but life that's dependent on the surety that

God loves us through Jesus Christ and He shows us that daily in such thoughtful

ways and compassionate ways and how we love God only God can begin things again

and give us New Life only God can come down the stairway of heaven and give to

us Jesus Christ who lives within our hearts only God

gives us grace and love and forgiveness and gives us forgiveness of our sins

by opening our hearts to God's renewing peace in Genesis the Light that appeared

was Life-giving darkness worked against that Light and John says he is not the

One but look for the One who's coming after John he is the Light of the world

I'm not worthy to loosen the sandals from His feet and so when Jesus

comes forward and He asked John for Baptism Jesus sees John as God's senior

usher Jesus sees John and his need for a Savior and us too my friend the Savior

Jesus Christ invites you to New Life in Him He wants you to make this new

beginning to have this year as a new chapter in your life January it's a

start of something wonderful because He's here in your heart He's right by

your side He's got you in his energy and power and motivation place all of your

trust in Jesus talk to Him often and renew yourself in Him by the ability of

the Holy Spirit daily let's pray together Gracious and Loving God by the

stirring of your renewed and redeeming Presence within us we affirm this new

beginning in tandem with You forgive us when we have wronged You and caused You

sadness we forgive others that have hurt or damaged our spirits may Your love

fill us up and engages us for discipleship and lead us forward in Your

love in Christ's Name we pray Amen God bless you my friend go in peace and in

God's love Amen

Martin Keown: 'Is Leno better than Petr Cech? I don't think so' - Duration: 2:55.

Arsenal have been heavily criticised after a heavy 5-1 defeat at Anfield, with particularly scathing comments coming from one of their former players

Martin Keown slammed the defenders in their poor efforts for some of Liverpool's goals, and he also questioned the quality of goalkeeper Bernd Leno

Speaking on BT Sport, he compared the signing of Leno to Liverpool's marquee signings such as Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk, and asked whether he was good enough to play in the team

Bernd Leno was able to get a piece of Mohamed Salah's penalty, but it went in the net anyway Roberto Firmino managed to score a no look tap in to open Liverpool's large scoring account Share this article Share 'Leno didn't even make the German squad,' said Keown

'Is he better than Petr Cech? No I don't think so, but Petr Cech hasn't played since September

'Leno made a handful of mistakes in the match, including accidentally kicking the ball out of play when Arsenal were trying to play out from the back

He also got a piece of Mohamed Salah's penalty but couldn't stop it going in. Arsenal's lack of spending was called into question, especially when compared to the millions of pounds Liverpool spent during the summer transfer window

'Is he better than Petr Cech? No I don't think so,' said former Arsenal player Martin Keown Keown was clearly unimpressed by what he saw from Arsenal's goalkeeper at Anfield '[Liverpool] are shopping in Harrod's, and Arsenal aren't,' said Keown

'It's £65million for the goalkeeper, £75million for van Dijk. Arsenal are spending £25million for a German goalkeeper who doesn't make the national team in the summer

'His point was countered by fellow pundit Michael Owen who said that Arsenal have many more areas they need to work on, compared to Liverpool who only had a couple of positions to strengthen

'If you've only got four or five players you want to build your team around, you have to spread your budget,' said Owen

Keown believes that Arsenal need more time, and need to do more work to improve: 'Liverpool are in the middle of a project

Arsenal are in the beginning of theirs, and there's a hell of a lot of work to do
