El Gol Digital reports that Liverpool are preparing a £67m bid for American sensation
Christian Pulisic.
The 20-year-old has been incredible for Borussia Dortmund for a while now and recently claimed
that he could move to the Premier League in the future.
The report adds that Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in the 20-year-old winger but
the player will not come on the cheap.
Dortmund want to keep hold of their star and prefer selling him in the summer, according
to the report.
Jurgen Klopp knows Pulisic well as the pair spent some time together at the Signal Iduna
Park.
However, the youngster didn't get to play any first-team minutes under our manager.
The Reds have one of the best sides in the Premier League but adding someone like Pulisic
in the team can make a huge difference.
The 20-year-old has the potential to get better and would provide quality back-up to the likes
of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Pulisic hasn't been prolific this season for Dortmund but has helped them to an unbeaten
start to the Bundesliga campaign after 12 games.
The American has three goals and two assists for the Bundesliga leaders so far this season,
and will certainly add more in the months to come.
It will be interesting to see how we progress with the American as losing him to any other
club would be a big blow.
Christian Mate Pulisic is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacking midfielder
or a winger for German club Borussia Dortmund and the United States national team.
Considered by many to be the top American soccer prospect, he is the youngest player
to represent the US senior national team in a FIFA World Cup qualifier.
His rapid rise with the U.S. youth national teams has been mirrored by his rapid rise
through the Borussia Dortmund academy, where he played just 15 games before being brought
into the first team during the 2015–16 winter break.
In April 2016, he became the youngest foreigner to score a goal in the Bundesliga.Later that
month, he became the youngest player ever to score two goals in the Bundesliga.
On May 28, 2016, a few months before his eighteenth birthday, he scored in an international friendly
against Bolivia to become the youngest player in the modern era to score a goal for the
United States.
On September 2, 2016, he became the youngest American player to score a goal in World Cup
qualifying history at 17 years, 349 days.
Pulisic is a modern-day number 10.
His low center of gravity allows him to dribble at high speeds.
Recently, he has played more of a winger role for Dortmund.
His adept weak foot skills allow him to play on either side of the field.
Because of his style of play Pulisic is known to be a subject of fouls by opponents.
Anfield duo have proven instant hit after big-money moves earlier this year.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has explained why both Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker
have been able to hit the ground running at Anfield.
Van Dijk has been an outstanding success since arriving for £75million from Southampton
in January and scoring a dramatic late winner on his debut in the FA Cup third round win
over Everton a few days later.
The Holland international has been integral in transforming a defence that has conceded
only five goals in the first 13 league games this season,
Liverpool will look to extend that record and again move within two points of Premier
League leaders Manchester City when they again entertain Everton in the 232 Merseyside derby
on Sunday afternoon.
And Klopp wasn't surprised by the ease of Van Dijk's transition into the heart of the
Reds defence.
"Has he been everything I expected?
Yeah, absolutely," said the Liverpool boss.
"From the first second he was brilliant.
"It is easier for a centre-half coming in and playing, the adjustment to the rest of
the team is not that massive.
"It is much more difficult for a midfielder because there's more to do and you don't
see the situations that clear.
"But he has been brilliant since he has been with us.
I knew long before he signed the contract that he would be outstanding as a player.
"The mix of both (playing and leadership) makes him outstanding."
Told is appears Van Dijk has helped progress his team-mates, Klopp added: "If that is
the case, then good.
That is how it is with quality players, they give confidence to other players."
Alisson, a £65million arrival from Roma in the summer, is enjoying the best-ever start
to a league career in terms of goals conceded by any keeper in Liverpool's history.
And Klopp believes his upbringing in southern Brazil has been a contributory factor.
"Alisson is probably less South American than some of you!" said the Reds boss to
the assembled media.
"He is coming from the colder part of Brazil, the opposite part to Bobby (Firmino), and
it makes him pretty much European.
He is very calm, very good.
"He is everything we thought he would be when we signed him, which is good news actually."
