Jose Mourinho erupted into a fit of rage after Marcus Rashford's first-half corner could only find the second man
The 21-year-old, who is in charge of taking the set pieces when he's playing, managed to get his ball over Nathan Redmond but saw it headed away by Jack Stephens
The score was poised at 2-2 at the time after United had got themselves back into the fixture
Saints took an early lead through Stuart Armstrong before Cedric Soares rolled in a superb free-kick seven minutes later
Romelu Lukaku pulled one back just after the half hour mark and Ander Herrer produced a tidy finish six minutes later to draw the game level
United then earned the corner that sent Mourinho into a fit of rage. When Rashford's set-piece was easily cleared away, an irritated Mourinho put his heads in his hands before slamming his arms down onto his knees in frustration
The Portuguese then spoke to his assistants in a manner that didn't look particularly calm
It is not entirely clear what Mourinho was fuming at, whether it was simply Rashford's cross or whether he was expecting a player to attack the ball at the front post
Mourinho was criticised just days ago for the way he responded to Rashford missing a one-on-one
During the clash against Young Boys, the United boss closed his eyes and shook his head
Gary Lineker slammed the reaction, tweeting at the time: "If I saw my manager react like that, I would be absolutely livid!" The Saints clash ended 2-2, and at full-time Mourinho told BBC Match of the Day: "I think the result is quite fair in spite of the fact we were more dominant in the game
They had a better start than us. We were in trouble, organising a defensive line with only one centre-back we tried to protect that weakness with playing three instead of two central defenders
"It worked quite well, the goals we conceded were a direct free-kick and a good shot
But we needed to lose less balls in midfield and if you do that you have more continuity in attack
