Jose Mourinho has hit out at the lack of 'mad dogs' in his Manchester United team - but reserved praise for two players who 'fight to the limit'
The Red Devils were expecting to take all three points from their trip to St Mary's this weekend, but were two goals behind in just 20 minutes
Mourinho's men mounted a first half comeback and drew level going into the break, but the Red Devils were unable to find an all-important third
After the match the Manchester United boss appeared to contradict himself somewhat, praising his side's "good spirit and good fight" before claiming "we don't have many mad dogs, the ones who bite the ball and press"
He did however reserve special praise for Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones, who he said 'fight to the limits' for Manchester United
Speaking to BT Sport, Mourinho said: "We lost so many balls in midfield and transition
But we had good spirit and good fight. "Fighting to the limits like Rashford and Jones
It's not the result we want but we had positives. We don't have many mad dogs, the ones who bite the ball and press
" The draw sees United fall 16 points behind bitter rivals Manchester City, who are top of the Premier League and favourites for the title
