1/28 scale rc drift project where today's upgrade and modification is going to
improve the car handling true the corners by extending the wheelbase and it also
improves the cg making a lot more weight shift to the front I having a more or
forty to sixty weight balance getting very close to the 50/50 that we would
like to have and that it will improve and make the car drift super easy so and
these are the upgrade parts that you get you only have to pay two to three
dollars on Banggood the extended pinion gears and you get two spares we've got the
same size as the stock and one extremely long one don't extend the wheelbase by
five mil the stock wheelbase of the wltoys k989 is 97 mil out of my head and
we're going to extend it to the maximum 102 and I already disassembled the car a
little bit but we have still have to remove the transmission case and move it
all the way to the rear and it's just a few bolts on the top that you have to
remove to open up the transmission case it's pretty simple and then only two
screws at the bottom of the motor mount at the chassis to remove the whole
drivetrain and from this point on it's actually pretty easy step just have to
be careful that you don't lose third bearing it's all in the drivetrain pull
down the gear transmission gear and then you can pull off the pinion gear if
your... carefull
and that's at the rear of course and then we have to remove the bearing
to reuse it on the new pinion gear and out of experience I can tell
you extending the wheelbase improves the car by a whole bunch it just changes
into a completely new different car and it makes it super easy to drift as you
can hear it's raining in the rear and doesn't forget to push the bearing all
the way to the end of the gear this where it needs to be
and this is the same reason that we bought this little car because of the
rain you can't play outside and because of the little size this car and the way
it's turning into a proper drift car it's really nice play inside there's
only one way it will fit it's brand new so it's pretty tight and then there's
only one way to the gear while fit on it just need to find it and lock it up no
it's just a question of putting it back in its place but of course we have to
extend the wheelbase move that all the way to the rear we do this off camera and we right
back we have moved the transmission case all the way to Rear
now it's just a question of putting the drivetrain back in its place
I hope it fits I'm all gears are connected and still turning smooth so that's what
we want that's perfect and we just have to bolt everything
together and to make it really drift super easy with a new upgrade and the
better Cg weight balance from the front to the rear so I really hope you liked this video
