Day 20 : Were Here For RELATIONSHIPS..(What Is Love? Challenge) - Duration: 8:37.
Hi loves, this is Dee and welcome back to my channel today is Day 20 of the what is
love challenge, if you've been following along and today we're talking about relationships.
In the beginning God existed in trinity.
He existed as God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
God already existed in a state of love in relationship and if you go back to Genesis,
it says, God said, "let us create man in our own image, now who is God?
God is essentially love, so when he said let us create man in our own image, one of the
characteristics that we have, essentially as children of God, is that we embody the characteristic of Love.
That is something that we need, as human beings and as children of God.
One of our biggest purpose, the reason why we're here is because of Love.
So essentially, we were created to have a relationship with God, when God created Adam
and he placed him in the garden, the first person Adam ever had a relationship with,
was with God.
God walked with Adam in the garden.
God gave instructions directly to Adam and Adam listened to God.
Next if we look back in Genesis, then God says, it is not good for man to be alone,
so this is the second hint that we're here for relationships, God saw that we need to
be in relationships so God created Eve, out of Adam so that Adam can have a relationship
with someone else, and Eve was created as his helpmeet.
Further along, when we read Genesis, it goes along and says that, for this reason man will
leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and then he said that and they will
become one flesh.
So as we can see from Genesis is that, first and foremost, Adam had a relationship with God and then God
created Eve so that Adam can have a relationship with Eve, so essentially if we go back to
Day one of our challenge, the biggest command is for us to love God and to Love others.
So this brings us to today's scriptures and today I'll be reading from 1 Peter 3
: 8 – 12 and I'm reading from the English Standard Version Holy Bible and it says
8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble
mind.
9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for
to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
10 For "Whoever desires to love life and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit;
11 let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
So as we read these passages, we're reminded how to relate to others, these verses today
teach us how to love and how to be mirrors of God and how to, exude his image as we relate
to others, were told to essentially be sympathetic to one another, to be loving and kind hearted,
to exist in unity, if you read the new testament, children of God are depicted as the body of
Christ, and Christ being our head.
So as the body of Christ we're all different, as human beings we're all given different
talents, we're all given different personalities, different gifts but we exist as one body in
unity, a body has so many parts but they all have very important functions for the body
to be whole and complete, so this is the same in the body of Christ, were all very different,
but we're all given very important functions, and very important talents and gifts that
we need to share and to come together and the body of Christ can
not be whole and complete if we don't exist in unity and in one mind.
No man is an island, we can not be here on earth and exist alone so we're advised to
be of one mind and exist in unity, to be loving to one another, to be kind hearted, to be
humble, next we're told how to relate to those who mistreat us.
Now as we exist in the world we're all a work in progress, everyone is on their own
journey and of course as we relate to each other we're going to hurt each other, as
we exist with other people and as they hurt us and mistreat us, we're told not to repay
evil for evil.
But to pray and bless them, and the greatest example is when Jesus was being crucified,
if there's anyone in this world who has been treated unfairly it's Jesus because
he was pure and he was perfect he was part God and he was crucified, unfairly so as he
was being crucified, you know he did not ask his father to strike down, those people who
were mistreating him.
He did not use his Godly powers to harm them, but infact he prayed for them, he interceded
on their behalf to his father, and said forgive them for they do not know what they're doing,
so we're called as children of God as those who embody his image, we're called to do
the same thing, we're called to pray and bless those who hurt us, and in that way we'll
receive God's blessing.
Next we're told that if we want a good life, and if we want to live a life of love.
We're told to keep our speech from lies, to be authentic, to be transparent, to turn
away from evil and to do good and to seek and pursue peace.
And true peace can only be found in God, the last verse says for God hears the prayers
of the righteous, and he turns his face away from those who do evil, so essentially we're
being told that we need to maintain our relationship with God by doing good and once we do evil,
we are essentially breaking our relationship with God and God will turn away from us.
So I hope today's video blessed you and these verses blessed you and I pray that as
we continue, as children of God that God gives us the strength, to exist in our relationships
in love and in love with God and in love with others, as we seek to pursue him, and to pursue
love and peace.
So thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoyed today's video and I will see
you in the next one, much love and stay blessed. Bye
Becoming a Christian or a follower of Christ, is really not a simple feat, its so
much easier to live the way the world wants us to live, because when we become of Christ,
and we decide not to sin anymore and to leave our old ways behind
